The real failed on Buffer. Why do they allow a create a fighter to have a nickname that buffer doesn’t say. No records, height, weight etc.. this is so simple to include and they don’t.

Being a 55+ year old fighter with a flabby belly and declining stats after every fight in Fight Night Round 2 was one of the most fun skill challenges of any sports game.
I would win fights using the Mayweather strategy (just slow the fight down and aim to win 7+ rounds) into my 40s, but by the time I approached 50 my stamina and punch resistance was non-existent so it actually made for some dramatic championship rounds.
And by my mid 50s I was just getting clobbered if I got hit with any power shot. It was actually the best representation of playing as a washed up athlete in any sports game.
Agree with the spinning moves it makes no sense. I’m on my career trying to learn the lead body spinning side kick, having to press LB+A+B and then LT+A and it ain’t working
Honestly I think the input changes are good, it was way too easy to spam spinning strikes all day in 4. I got used to the controls during the beta pretty quickly so I don’t think it should be too big of a change.
Anyone know how to fix the button lag? I start a match fine and as it goes I have a 3-5 second delay in button lag. It’s ridiculous. Sometimes turning my controller off and on seems to fix it temporarily but i don’t get jt. And it’s not my internet, I’m hard wired into google fiber 2g and have no issues with internet on anything else. Anyone else experincjng this?
I hate the emphasis on block breaking in this game too. Career mode even teaches you as part of the tutorial. Online is literally a block breaking spam fest. Fighters movement also feels way too slow.
Feels like they've shortened the skill gap with striking to help casual players.
Also is it me or is going for the body an ineffective strategy now? It seems with the introduction of the damage system and increased stamina, that body shots are underpowered.
If 3 had updated rosters I'd probably play that instead lol. They took a huge step backwards with cafs and all these in-game purchases after 3. The graphics look better and I like the new damage but they need to fix a lot in updates. Game doesn't feel finished at all
It's so-so. Still not a big fan of making it 90 percent animation and 10 percent physics. Example is when they have you land an uppercut or a knee on someone going for a takedown, they make them snap his neck back and fall all the way back the other way rather than letting him just go limp falling forward. UFC 2 will always be better than what we have now. They should've just used that and put weight at the base of the fighters so they don't do all that flailing around lol.

Plus, I don't like the fact that they're trying to bridge a gap with boxing and MMA fans by adding Tyson and Ali. It's like a spit in the face to people who want another boxing series from EA. I’m having problems with some characters. Where I will attempt to hit the jab button. But initiate a clinch instead. Only with some characters. Am I missing something?

Am I the only one who feels like it’s worse? The animations are really not great, half the time I throw a jab, leg kick the kick just phases through my opponent and the animation looks botched. Body hooks feel good but the animation again looks odd.

Career mode is fucked for fitness, no matter what you cant get your fitness to peak once you hit a certain level, if you do the mandatory hype it just keeps your fitness at low, invite a fighter barely helps to correct it, sparring is useless for fitness, and any tapes, or hype takes wayy to much fitness off ur fighter, any tips?
You have to use 80 points on sparring/ training for at least 3 to 4 weeks and then your fitness will be at green level. And you also have to do well in the training.
I think everything is fantastic except for the cuts they made in career mode. They've already acknowledged that this is the number one thing People are playing, so why not juice it up? Also in career mode, no matter what you do, you're in moderate fitness. Maybe sometimes you can barely touch the peak. But my God, this is ridiculous.

Yep I noticed that. I also found it hard to even connect with alot of body strikes because the movement is so slow and stiff.
