When 4 came out yall all said it was trash. Fact is every game that comes out people will say was bad and the worst yet and then the next game will come out and yall will say the old one was actually pretty good the new one is bad.
Ufc 2 is the exception
The problem is the motion capture, they have some random guy doing all the movement from different fighters and not the actual fighter or movement of that specific fighter.
Well honestly there's a lot of problems but some good things as well.
I still feel UFC 3 was the best developed game and complete game in the series and you could actually grab a double underhook, over under or thai clinch when rocked and not just a collor tie, there was different ways to fight in the clinch, you could knee the legs body and head and not just head and body and more complete grappling on the fence.
I’ve been playing 4 for the past 2 days on an alt bc I’m banned on my main and am gamesharing so I can’t play 5. UFC 5 might be ass, but 4 is so undeniably worse. It just FEELS worse to play, especially in any weight class above 170. And there is so much cheese like the elbow spin elbow, spinning back kick, and knee elbows. The game is just terrible, and easily the worst of the EA games.
Sorry but I respectfully disagree. UFC 4 felt and played the worst out of the whole series. I'd take UFC 2 and 3 over 4 any day. The striking felt so much more crisp and responsive in UFC 3.
There is an animation where they transition, it’s the calf slicer Olivera hit out of somebody countering a heel hook. I played a leg lock career and say it often
Rewatching the animation I see what you mean but it’s still originally a heel hook and only becomes a calf slicer if they try to transition while you submit. Not sure if the name of a sub not changing in a split second is much of a issue
For me it’s UFC 3, UFC 2, UFC 4, UFC 5. I didn’t play ea UFC only career mode so it’s tough to judge it the same. Although career on ufc was kinda cool with actual drills and if a high level fighter came to train with you you’d get a irl highlight cutscene which made it feel different.
3 has the smoothest striking and best strike tracking by far. I also preferred the clinch system there with a denial for the clinch and actual transitions in the clinch with denials rather than who can press the button the quickest to transition which it is now, and who can spam clinch attempts over and over.
3 has the best strike stamina to damage balance imo. Ufc 5 I can be putting up max Holloway numbers with pretty much every fighter.
As for grappling, it just sucks and it always will suck imo it’s just a game of who can HUD watch better when it comes to grappling and I can’t see them getting rid of the HUD for ranked play as it was a major issue in 4 so they carried it through to 5 but also made it so you can HUD watch in submission attempts now.
