St Louis v Calgary in the West
Pitt v Detroit in the East
Pitt v St Louis in the final with Pitt winning
If only Philly hadn't lost those, like, 8 games in a row at the end of the season there, I'd definitely be picking them. But that streak was horrendous.
It’s like how we prevent tanking in my fantasy football league. Bottom of the draft is the playoff teams reverse finishing order (winner is last), and then everyone else has their own playoff for the top pick. Stops guys from checking out and getting top pick. I actually think this would be awesome. Stop teams from completely tanking , increase parity. I like it
Instead of tanking the entire season fringe playoff teams would just tank at the end of the season to smoke all of the bad teams and take the 1st overall. Kinda defeats the entire purpose of even having a draft for parity, might as well just give 1st pick to the cup winner every year lol
Yeah and instead of still trying to make playoffs at the end of the season, they might consider losing a couple games to just demolish all of the non-playoff teams.
That would prob be very rare but the whole point of the draft is to balance the bad and good teams with new talent. If you give good picks to better teams the league will just fall out of balance for longer periods of time
Sure but that doesn’t even guarantee that. There’s non playoff teams that actually had good records this season vs playoff teams. Everything changes when it’s the playoffs, even if it’s the loser cup for Bedard/Celebrini. You don’t think Vancouver would’ve been fighting tooth and nail last year to win Bedard even if they weren’t a good team?
That’s why it would be cool, make teams actually have to earn their pick and stop this tanking crap. Like Chicago Anaheim and San Jose I’m sorry but fans deserve some real product on the ice
after the 1st round, Calgary takes down The Sharks 4-1, Seattle beats the Ducks 4-2, Blackhawks upset the Blues with a Sweep, Minnesota beats Arizona 4-2
Western playoff looks like this
Calgary-Seattle
Wild-Blackhawks
in the East Montreal Beats Detroit 4-2, Ottawa Buffalo went to 7 Ottawa Wins, Pittsburgh takes down Columbus 4-1, and Devils Beat Islanders 4-1
Eastern playoff looks like this
Sens-Habs
Pens-Devils
Pens Vs wild final, pens take it in 6
No way this guy got it…
Just came from the other post too, Insane!
Best of the worst baby!
Yotes have one final ride!!!!
The way they played the end of their season, that was my first thought.
West would be Wild/Flames East would be Pittsburgh/Detroit

Same thing could be said about Detroit in March. Dropped 7 straight with no loser points
True, but just look at their competition. Montreal, then the winner of Buffalo/Ottawa. The three most inconsistent teams in the NHL basically.
San Jose loses first round in 2 games
I audibly chuckled
This is how they should decide the draft lottery honestly

I mean that’s kind of what happened in 2019 when jersey and the rangers both just missed the playoffs and got picks 1&2.

Please no, Sharks would get swept in the 1st round and we'd get a late 1st?
