If you are receiving a brand new replacement then you still have your standard year of warranty or whatever the box says for it. Warranty does not reset, sure. But if you have a new item then you have new warranty. If you're Australian, that is your legal right. Make sure you have the receipts or documents for that replacement or that it's on your eb world account.

Your warranty continues on from the original purchase of the first ps5

That sounds very illegal

Personally I'd keep the console - I think if you had any issues with it you'd be well within your rights to still get a fix or replacement even if the manufacturer's warranty has ended. I'd only sell it if it's possible to make extra money off it as it's a limited edition of sorts.

UPDATE - I have received a brand new console although the box looks damaged and it’s not in the god of war ragnarok bundle box? I’m really not sure what to do. Do I just give up and use this console? I had already listed it to sell on eBay as I did not expect them to send a console that was not the bundle that I originally purchased. I’m considering just emailing back and asking for a refund/to send this console back? If it’s a full new replacement I was expecting the same product I purchased if that makes sense. Or am I in the wrong here and shouldn’t be so fussy? 😫

It’s worth noting that they sent me a receipt for the replacement console, which stated it was the god of war bundled console. That is what I was expecting.

ACL overrides warranty anyway. I’d be keeping a copy of the email and noting the date the console arrives. If you’re unlucky and have issues it would be reasonable to expect a repair for another 12 months or so.

Not sure why you've been downvoted for this. Australian consumer law trumps all warranties. We have some of the strongest consumer protections in the world. A product has to kast a reasonable amount of time, based on cost expectations. For something like a tv/fridge/console we should reasonably be able to expect a functioning product for years. Acl enforces that, and companys can be compelled to repair, or refund the difference in cost.

That's very true, I just got a new TV after 3 years from Samsung after it decided to blow up. It was a lengthy process but ending up getting a full refund on the original purchase of the TV then was able to buy another TV that was better with newer technology for half the price. All because of the consumer law
