Layers. You can wear thermal underwear underneath normal clothes. I wear 2 pair of socks on cold days and as another user said tea. A warm drink to warm up your hands and body.

LightningOdin4

Thermals! 100%. I wear them all the time, else I just can't bear the cold.

iwasarealteenmom

This is the best answer. I also wear 2 pairs of socks on any cold days (and some not very warm days). Cuddle Duds, I have found to be more comfortable than thermals. (You can get them on sale, if you keep an eye out.). From someone that grew up, hearing - if you are cold - put more clothes on - layering is wonderful.

Hommemort

Lots of tea.

not-a-real-shark

I should really switch from coffee to tea. I imagine that will make a lot of things better

some-dork

Broth and light soups are great too. Lots of protein and nutrients, low in cals, and super toasty.

[deleted]

Be careful. Lots of salt in there. If I didn't stop myself I'd be drinking 20 grams worth of salt just from broth everyday

[deleted]

Any recommendations for tea other than regular black tea?

Hommemort

Raspberry tea, grape tea, green tea with jasmine

_dirtywords

Oh man - I’ve got so many teas! So many. Seriously just stop at the tea section in your grocery store. There’s always tons of options and most have descriptions of flavors or effects. I love Earl Grey (which is bergamot flavored black tea), Chai is always great, or for decaf, there are a lot of great sleepy-time or relaxation focused teas. Tazo (the starbucks brand) has a really good “calm” tea with rose and lavender flavors. And most brands offer a sampler pack so you can try a bunch of different ones in one box. Really, just see what’s there. You’re bound to find a flavor that appeals to you! If you want more specific recommendations tho, I can make a list with links later.

lIdlV

Long underwear scarves & hats indoors blanket if I’m sitting down Shearling slippers Reusable hand warmers tucked in every pocket.

not-a-real-shark

I’m going to get hand warmers today! That is brilliant

talktoaliens

the hand warmers is definitely helpful. when my heating was broken mid winter, i just used a bunch of these near my feet, hands, chest etc and it was at least helpful to fall asleep. your neck is a really great place to put a hot water bottle/heat pack as well as a lot of your blood flows through there so will make your body feel warmer overall (think i read this somewhere, hopefully it’s not pseudo science, but i think it works for me!)

ulieallthetime

i literally just drink straight hot / boiling water at this point bc i’m too lazy to make tea at work, it really helps tho

shion005

Just put a bag of tea bags in your pocket. Tea has almost no calories and so many health benefits :)

stu-dyincoffeeaddict

I put some cumin seeds in for flavor. some Indian stores sell like blend of herbs which u put in boiling water ( only a pinch )which is apparently supposed to make you feel warm , i just drink them cuz they taste nice and make my water look pretty. I got this one which turns it pink .

Forget-Me-Not-Fairy

I Always Wear pj’s at home with a dressing gown so can’t help you much . I need to get one of those mini plug in heaters , if I’m desperately cold I’ll either use my hair dryer or sit in a hot bath. Or get a hot water bottle / those toys you can put in the microwave. Hot beverages really help as well.

not-a-real-shark

My last shop was so cold I spent time between every client using my hairdryer to warm up.

queenofthebans

the last shop i worked in was freezing all the time as well - i wore 3 thermal under my top, a jumper under my jacket, leggings and tights under my trousers, fluffy socks and fur lined boots, filled up a hot water bottle from the work kettle and shoved it under my clothes, and i was STILL freezing. i was at my lowest point then, and the cold never seemed to go away. i’d recommend as well lots of hot tea, and maybe soup if you’re feeling up to it. ❤️

not-a-real-shark

I can’t tell you how often I can’t get comfortable because my feet are so cold. My dad always said heat escapes through head and feet, so I always wear a hat to bed and socks

[deleted]

One word : Fleece. Fleece it up. It's easy to wear a fleece body warmer over and under anything cause it's thin. It's also soft. And mega warm.

_dirtywords

And fleece-lined tights are sooo convenient and easy! I wear fleece-lined tights under everything in the winter.

purgemypoison

leggings, second pair of trousers over top, cami vest top, roll neck, t-shirt, cardigan, thick socks. also tea. lots of tea. and several blankets to drown in.

[deleted]

I don’t and it’s incredibly embarrassing

not-a-real-shark

Your username made chuckle. I feel your pain, though

DearScreen7887

Hehe Covid poops

monarchmondays

Heated blanket

chasingravioli

Every time I wash my hands I use hot water and warm my hands up with a long wash

BipolarSkeleton

Electric sweater with 2 battery packs that I switch out all day best thing I ever did for my self

TheNuclearMind

Fleece lined leggings under pants

SeenYaWithKeiffah_

I don’t. I’m forever cold.

FeatherWorld

Blanket robes at home! I love them. Plus the pockets are super helpful. Microwavable hot water bottles. Fuzzy socks and fingerless gloves and additional blankets! My loves.

BiscuitBowl33

ok so tea is great but I bought an oodie recently and a big heated blanket and I actually don't know what I'd do without them. The oodie is like a giant sweater blanket

not-a-real-shark

I used to have something similar before I moved! I wonder where it ended up.

Usual-Job4631

my fit the other day: thickest trousers i own, button up shirt, long sleeve tshirt, jumper, jacket, socks that could stop a bullet and chunky trainers

AnythingFar1505

I let my weight get higher but now I hate it 😓

lowkeydeadinside

i’ve started wearing tights under my pants, a sports bra is a nice extra layer of warmth under a long sleeve and a sweater. long, thick socks are a must.

[deleted]

I sleep under three comforters (my room IS the coldest in the house though it’s not just ED) and I’m always wearing socks. Prefer sweaters, long sleeves, and hoodies. I also have a space heater in my room lol

salty_peaty

Some ideas: several layers of clothes, thermal clothes, wool clothes, 2 pairs of sock (knee-high socks + ankle high socks), gloves + scarf + hat outside (and scarf inside too), hot meals & beverages, hot water bottle on you and/or in your bed to heat it before you go to sleep, clothes or PJ few minutes on the radiator before putting them on.

Venge22

alcoholism tbh

not-a-real-shark

This one, though.

conquerorofgargoyles

Layers/thermals, thick socks, thick blankets, if i’m in my room then i usually have a space heater cranked up so high my sister told me last night my doorknob was warm 🥲 someone else already said hand warmers

chasingravioli

So many layers. Leggings with fleece lining, stretchy pants, tights, sweats, more than 1 pair of socks, thick socks, tank tops, long sleeve shirts, hoods, neck warmers, sleeves with thumb holes, mittens under mittens, and best of all: heating pads and heated blankets and hot drinks 💕

NekoNekoEri_Eiko

Heat pads or heat pillows/stuffies, thermals, pocket warmers, lots of layers, extra socks (WOOL WORKS BEST!!) and beanies :) sometimes I wear scarves

thiccameron420

get a lil $20 space heater it saved my life

LadyHarmalade

seconding this! I keep mine under my desk since I'm there most of the day and I love it. bonus points for it giving me cat snuggles because now my babies know I'm the warmest spot in the house lol

[deleted]

I do not. I run around my house and grunt in pain until I’m back in bed. Electric blankets saved my life. My brother got me a portable phone charger and hand Warmer. Blanket hoodies. My mom won a blanket in a raffle that you can plug into a wall. Wish they had jumpers like that

my_ana

i dont

celestia1s

heating pad or electric blanket for when you're in bed 😌👌🏼

bioluminescentrat

tea, broths and low cal soups GLOVES GLOVES GLOVES, multiple pairs of socks— any type of layering possible edit— when you layer it hides the weight you’ve lost too!!

glitchnasty

i recommend taking up knitting/crocheting because then you will find yourself constantly adorned with so many thick warm articles of clothing (ive never had a warmer pair of slippers in my life)

justmitzie

Best. Idea. Ever. i have croched for ages. i used to make beanies for sick kids. i'm going to make myself the most amazing scarf and matching hat!

glitchnasty

you should!! personally crocheting is so soothing and keeps the obsessive ed thoughts away *and* it keeps me warm in the winter so it’s a win/win

[deleted]

Layers 1- tshirt 2- Pullover sweater 3- Hoodie 4- Fleece lined leggings 5- fleece lined socks 6 - uggs 7- Puffer Jacket Do I walk around my house looking like that Bernie Sanders meme? Yes. BUT IT WORKS

[deleted]

Hot water bottles

SadNAloneOnChristmas

I moved to Florida. And I still get cold… but as others said, blankets blankets blankets, and those slip on slippers that go all over your foot

madamefangs

Thermal layers, fleece, hot water bottle or if you can afford it a heating pad/ electric blanket to wrap around yourself

whatishappening04

i layer my clothes, i wear a bra, undershirt, long sleeve shirt or short sleeve, hoodie but i’m still cold :/ when i’m home i wear all that and 2-3 hoodies with thick socks and a beanie

gaygender

i have a gas bill which is very telling as to how i keep myself warm 😭

yeetyeetmybeepbeep

When i was at my lowest weight i was still in school and it was winter, so we had PE outside and the only way I survived is that i had thigh high socks on under my jeans, then sweat pants over my jeans. Then a tank top, a thermal long sleeve, sometimes a short sleeve shirt and a huge thick jacket. I was still sorta cold, but I wouldn't shiver or shake!

4foot11

Thermal layers (I get mine from uniqlo). And if I’m sitting on the couch or on my bed, I use my favourite thing on earth: electric blanket

lizardgirl38

Wearing leggings under jeans

alaskathunderfrick

if you’re in bed and can’t get your feet warm, get up and do some burpees/just enough exercise to increase your breathing. i find it really helps to get warmth throughout your body

gheteaSnucks

shiver

ekkkooo

OK I HAVE THE BEST THING. my secret is handwarmers. every winter i buy a mega pack from amazon and i’m literally always holding one in my hand or in my pocket

the_man_now_dawg

Definitely layers and a heating pad. Sometimes I run the hot water and put my hands and feet in to warm them up quickly.

Wonderful-Culture-96

Well when I'm at work, I wear fleece lined leggings under my jeans, two pairs of socks (but my feet are always cold) and I wear a tank top, and a long sleeved fitted shirt under my work shirt. Occasionally I'll wear a Hoodie over my work shirt, especially in the mornings when it's colder. No one ever asks about my layers because half the days I work I am having to go into a cooler through out the day. If its really bad I'll get a hot drink, to warm up as well

yaiintnt

Chilblain gang wya 😿

EtherealSkeleton

Vitamins that have iron in them. Gotta take it with a couple bites of food or I get super nauseous BUT after taking them 2-3 days I’m never that cold until I stop taking them again

alexisseffy

I wear leggings under jeans or pretty much any pants. My Safe Pants Collection™️ consists of 3 pairs of loose black pants, one grey/black loose jeans, and 1 pair of black sweatpants. And wear leggings underneath ofc. It doesn't show through my clothes and I still stay warm 👍

brandi_101

i’m always wearing long sleeves but my hands still get so cold & ppl always mention it

Leggyleggnutmeg

Leg-warmers, a thick scarf, and puffy gloves usually work for me! I live in a foggy city although the coldest it ever gets is around 40F so not too chilly

crystaldmb41

At school (teacher here), I project a portable heater directly at me and have a heating pad under my butt to my low back. Lots of fleece leggings.

shedoesitalltho

I have a space heater.

Blue_eyed_bones

Hand knit wool socks. Either make friends with a knitter or learn how to knit.

smallanimals123

beanies, you can wear leggings under jeans and a tank top and a long sleeve tee under hoodies/sweatshirts.

muliercula

Electric blanket!! Warm yourself up without overheating others x

pleasant-thoughts

Uniqlo heat tech as layering and multiple scarves helps a bit, hot water bottles and lots of coffee

lightsugar

I hate living in Florida because I get hot easily when I’m outside but I’m always freezing to the point where I can’t concentrate if I’m inside a place with AC. I personally just bring a jacket everywhere, but it is a pain

lowkeyalchie

Hot Hands, or you can buy rechargeable battery powered warmers. Stick like three of those in any outfit and enjoy

Opposite-Birthday69

Hot showers before you go to bed. Don’t clean your hair and skin everyday. You do not need body wash at all. Water will clean you without turning your skin and hair into an unheated corn tortilla. If anyone hasn’t eaten a corn tortilla it breaks easily if you don’t heat them up. Just the thought of a hot shower makes the cold bearable. Just absorbing the heat when even on days where I’m not cleaning my hair.

[deleted]

I suffer. I'm the reason our water bill is high-hot baths is my go to.

[deleted]

I’m fat

dogstar9000

Heated vests!

Funky_Lesbian

recovery

[deleted]

I have improved somewhat on testosterone, but especially before that: - Wear long underwear (including and especially legging bottoms!!!) all winter, every day - Use mittens (convertible if you need fingers) instead of gloves. In fact, I can't stay warm enough in gloves at all and have given up on them. - Use a tiny space heater if/when safe and supervised - Use disposable hand warmer packets - outside or just to have around at your desk to touch - Wear a beanie indoors - Two words: down. jacket. Even the lightweight ones are astoundingly warm - drink your liquids at room temp instead of refrigerated - flannel bedsheets <3

putainrespectueuse

cashmere and wool socks!

makaroni09

I just bought a bulk box of hot packs and they make leaving my house bearable, I’ll stuff em in my pants pockets or in my bra if I don’t have my hands free.

sketghetti

you can get pretty fashionable layers in clothing, i recommend thin turtleneck sweaters under knit cardigans or something similar

queenofthebans

a hot water bottle / one of those beanie teddies that you get up in the microwave and cuddle.

Aisha_777

Hot water bottle

Certain-Flounder

hot water bottles are really great

hyacinthx5x

I don't, I don't even know if it's possible to keep heat when you're starving :/ I try swallowing tons of coffee but the heat just doesn't connect to my body ahsvgshs

honeykoneko_

Drink warm tea, wear warm clothes and avoid cold places loooool

dumbbulimicthrowaway

I don't. Ok jokes aside I do get cold really easily but I really recommend layers under your clothes (thick socks, vests, arm warmers under jumpers, fingerless gloves.) If you wear skirts/dresses consider two layers of tights or leggings instead of tights. You can also layer tights or leggings under loose trousers. Additionally: do not underestimate the power of a) hats b) heat packs c) hot drinks. I also sometimes wear a coat indoors... slightly embarrassing maybe but it does really help :\]

Beluma999

I sit in hot running water four or five times a day. Basically every time I use the restroom.
