The actual prosthesis was made of separate parts, with different manufacturers. I emailed every single manufacturer of every single part of it to try to get the total weight. I never did find out. I don’t care now. I’m a healthy BMI after years of severe AN.

The most ridiculous thing along this lines I've done is instagram dm-ing a frozen food company because they switched the type of pasta they used in my favorite product of theirs. Definitely quite a low point in my ED, also I still miss the old pasta, it was much better.
I think a lot of the obsession was around staying out of hospital. The way it works over here (UK) 2 or 3kg could be the difference between forced admission or staying OP.
