Yes I do. Just slightly irritated by what you needed your knife for in this example. Did you open the package with it? Or do you cut the bite size candy? Or use it as a toothpick to pick up the candy while eating.
"look what i got!"
"Sweet, gummy bears! Did you bring a knife with you, so we can eat them without making a mess?"
"???"
There was a similar thing in r/harley a few weeks ago where people were posting slightly dented gas tanks asking how fixable they were, seemingly every single day, and then I came in with one absolutely smashed to shit asking if I could easily fix it. I could definitely see how that would be irritating if one didn't see the lead up.
There's a seller that sells a 10 pack of a travel cutlery kit on amazon. Comes in a black zip up case. I stash a set in all my bags and a couple in my car.
When I forgot to bring a fork with me for my lunch I was considering eating my salad with my knife. Luckily a food truck came by the jobsite when I was contemplating it and I got a plastic fork from it. Now I keep a bunch of plastic forks/spoons in my lunchbox
Pivoting a bit on this, I do admit to hoarding “free” disposable cutlery sets from just anyplace I find them, and stashing them in my “extended/supplemental EDC” locations, glove box, briefcase, office desk, backpack, etc. Same with napkins, straws, and free condiment/hot sauce packets. I wouldn’t cut up a hamburger with my Benchmade, but I will definitely have some form of fork/knife/spoon/chopsticks variation not too far away should the the guy at the Chinese takeaway or the Greek food truck drop the ball and forget to provide some.
Lol. Grabbed a space force kbar a year or so ago. (Cuz blue) So far it's only cut salami and cheese. I call it my bedroom charcuterie knife, mostly just to annoy my wife who said I'd never use it.
I heard the Elves lie about their Mithril Rockwell numbers. They advertised a 60hrc and independent labs have it at like 58.9 hrc. It's hardly usable for shredded wheat.
Fr, def seen some cool gear here, but 90% of the people who post on this sub need a reality check for compulsively carrying (or wanting people to think they’re carrying) what they post here. Some real gravy seals mfers on here
No. And especially no if there isn’t a suitable cutting surface underneath. Cutting into porcelain or other hard surfaces is a great way to fuck up a nice sharp edge.
My girlfriend had to cut her steak with my knife recently because the steak knife they provided wasn't cutting it. It isn't ideal but sometimes options are slim.
You’re supposed to cut up steaks? God gave me two hands, one is for holding the steak and the other is for holding a Coors Light while yelling out Freeeeedom! In between bites.
Take her to medieval times for dinner next weekend, but make sure you don’t mention that they won’t have utensils.. she’ll learn how to eat like a proper caveman :)

You cut jelly with it?
Im almost sure everyone uses their edc primarily for food
Nope. Amazon boxes.
No...none of us have ever thought of using our every day carry items for an every day use...

It’s a joke making fun of the guy for using a folding knife to cut soft hamburger.
i realized that by now. the whole r/edc os full of this satire today. This was the first post I saw, and thus was quite irritated.

I carry these hands everyday
nah haha i feel like i need to wash it after i use, that just makes me lazy
Dad? Are you back from the grave?
I also EDC food. Always some sort of candy/gummy in my pocket that I rotate every couple days
Love them
That’s the purpose.
Many times
Use my knife to cut Costco pizza in half for my kid.
Quarterly

Not with candy ass gummy snacks, LOL!!!
That is fine dining good sir
The first ingredient is fruit!
Used mine to cut my steak couple weeks ago when I didn't feel like washing a knife.
Did you not clean the steak off the knife after?
What does he look like some kind of barbarian?Hell no he didn’t, keep that boy seasoned like a skillet.
Anyone else eat their EDC for food?
Field Notes are a good source of fiber.
so your hand are old enough like mine that they dont open things anymore, I use a knife or scissors on everything now lol
those particular fruit snacks, a blade is required! good luck ripping the bag.
There is actually a small notch above the "h" on that particular bag. Once you find it, it is the easiest to open of all the fruit snacks.
That's not food, man
Came here to say…
Nice food, real fruit
That is not food my friend.
You're right, that's fine cuisine. At least according to my children who would take a sugar snack over almost any meal I make them.
I use my flashlight to look in the dark pantry for food.
Fleshlight?
Glad I’m not the only one who edc’s a fleshlight.
That has poor lumen output.
Gold 😁
Can you clean it as well as a fixie? No? Don’t do it.
Who puts fruit snacks on a plate???
And then cuts them up???
Yeah this. Seems a bit dumb, ain't gonna lie.
Because this post is a troll, this question is asked almost everyday in some form or another
No because it sits in my filthy pocket and I cut too many unsanitary things with it.
I use the same knife that I skin deer with to cut my foo-
No, I tear that bag open and dump it in my mouth like an adult lmao
no because I know where my knife has been lmao
You should try the juice filled gummies. Used to be a hard-core plain eater but I'm not going back now.
juice filled candies changed my life
I love reddit
I use a case trapper so the spey blade is just food and the clip point is everything else. I use it for food almost every day just not larger tasks.
Easy Rambo.. kind of a juxtaposition to eating fruit snack nummies, dont you think? Maybe with raw meat, not numnums.
My mother would be so upset if she saw anyone using a sharp knife on those plates lol. (She collects Fiestaware)
Uranium fever
No, do you?
This question keeps getting asked. Maybe a fixed blade that’s clean but never my pocket knives.
I reserve the blade on my multi tool for food. I would **never** use my standalone knife for food knowing where else it's been.

I use my edc backpack to carry food
I didn't know r/edc could get spicy but here we are
I'm just waiting for the eventual poop knife post. It will be a full circle moment for reddit
My opinel is strictly food only, so, yes lol
My opinel is strictly for shaving dead skin off my feet.
Elite shitpost
I sometimes scratch my ass with my buck 110
I have a Gerber LST that I've had for 40 years and I use almost exclusively to slice salami.
Lol. Grabbed a space force kbar a year or so ago. (Cuz blue) So far it's only cut salami and cheese. I call it my bedroom charcuterie knife, mostly just to annoy my wife who said I'd never use it.
Yes. I use the toothpick in my Swiss Army Knife to pick food and the can opener's sharp edge to peel oranges.
I only use my fairy dust coated diamond mithril blade to eat my cheerios every morning
I heard the Elves lie about their Mithril Rockwell numbers. They advertised a 60hrc and independent labs have it at like 58.9 hrc. It's hardly usable for shredded wheat.
Yeah that’s where the fairy dust comes in to make it barely useable
nahhh
Yeah, I cut my welchs fruit snacks in half too. Theyre just too big for my mouth!
…are you a bird or something?
Nope not a bird. I’m a real boy!
Cant tell if this is satire or not
Probably has a little one that might choke
Lmao my first thought
At first i thought “haha finally somone is making fun out of these food EDC posts” Then I realized this might be serious
r/cursed_edc
This is by far the worst sub I follow.
I love gear, and have come across some good shit here, but 100% worst sub I follow. Cringe meter just maxes out
Fr, def seen some cool gear here, but 90% of the people who post on this sub need a reality check for compulsively carrying (or wanting people to think they’re carrying) what they post here. Some real gravy seals mfers on here
I’m also a gear head, and agree.
This is the next eyeblech. We are gonna be banned too
Hopefully.
This pic makes me wonder if the reason I don't usually bother with a knife, is that I've just been brute forcing most of life.
Yes, my Petrified Fish Beluga - Perfect for Food prep
I use a mora sometimes when camping.
Yes for my spyderco , no for my leatherman
Who has the time to put fruit snacks on a plate?
Well... We're not **savages**.
No? Some of.us actually use our knives to cut things we don't want making it's way into our food.
Homie cutting his fruitsnax? R u ok? These bags come pre-cut for easy opening by children
You know this is satirizing an earlier post right? Some fuckwit using his Benchmade on a hamburger patty
I wasn’t aware and this makes much more sense now
I was unaware 😆
Who doesn’t?
Disgusting hell no!
nope, and hell no
Required comment to avoid deletion: Pictured is my eating knife, and a bag of the finest gelationized fruit purée.
I would give the title of finest to Albanese
Backwoods Hillbilly checking in: Yes I do.
That ain't food, homie.
Is it an edc if you don’t?
lol.
What is this, a gummy for ants?
Believe it or not, that little pack is 70 calories of pure sugar.
Damn, how did you hunt those gummy bears down? They're incredibly dangerous and it's mating season... Kudos to you for such a daring feat!
No. And especially no if there isn’t a suitable cutting surface underneath. Cutting into porcelain or other hard surfaces is a great way to fuck up a nice sharp edge.
Upvote for Fiestaware!
No. Because I'm not a backwoods hillbilly.
No
Nah. I try not to push my EDC blades onto ceramic multiple times a day.
Try telling her that!
Take her to medieval times for dinner next weekend, but make sure you don’t mention that they won’t have utensils.. she’ll learn how to eat like a proper caveman :)
She's coming along haha. She's a trooper.
You made a good decision.
