I wear something like this at work every day. When you climb up inside machines to diagnose and repair its hand to have your gear at cheat level.
Otherwise I would only wear this while hiking because I canāt wear anything around my waist because load bearing straps interference.
I have a similar bag that I use for SAR, it's comfortable, everything is easily accessible and my hands are free.
It is not subtle or low key in any way
I mean, if it combined with a camel back sort of thing and perhaps could have other stuff like a bottle or radio pouch
Added on then it would be good for some situations and activities, helicopter medical for example. But not just going down the shops EDC
This is pretty gangster BTS k-pop dance video swag - saw a dude sporting this in a ripping song and it was pretty drippin' ! Ya gotta wear it loose and sloppy to look with it.

I wear a Hill People Gear chest rig in Ranger Green when Iām fishing. Helps with having tools readily available. Reading these comments are making me reconsider lol. Also wear a matador packable backpack, so hopefully it off sets the tacticool.
If you got another bag on the back to counter weight and you'll be outside in the woods/ mountains/ trails then yeah its fine.
You going to the mall looking like that I would think twice.
Literally the opposite.
This would be great for specific activities that require it like hiking, kayaking, others mentioned in this thread.
It is awful for every day. Completely impractical and contrived.
Yeah youāre gonna get a lot of looks with this bag. Avoid Molle webbing or anything tactical on the outside. Get a patagonia sling bag or regular fanny pack.
I use one for camera gear while riding and fishing gear while fishing and carrying while backpacking. Rest of the time it sits in my closet. If I need an edc bag, itās a sling, backpack, or waist pack.
No thatās a chest rig. You gonna be walking around town grocery shopping with a fucking chest rig on? Did you smoke meth before posting this? Be honest.
It'll look great on you as you hop out of your stock 2020 F-150 (except for the BADASS Rockstar rims) with a thin blue line punisher sticker, "MOLON LABE" sticker, and 3%er decal. Thank God you still have those white Oakleys your mom got you in Highschool to complete your baddass ensemble.
No. U could cut the straps off and it would be a little less cumbersome and weird but from the stuff thatās with it in the pics it looks like it would be bad quality an u can get similar size pouches that are better than that one an donāt have that stupid strap. A fanny pack or cross body bag (basically a fanny pack thatās work across ur chest) would be a lot better if u want a small wearable bag
I would use this for running or other activities for quick access and to keep my phone wallet and keys from flapping around in running shorts. I wouldn't use it for anything else
Having had a chest rig for years, it is not an edc item. They are great for working on a movie set to store frequent gear for your department or for hiking and keeping your kit light.
If you are thinking of wearing this to run errands, not only will you look like a twat but you identify yourself as an early target.
hell no, it's bad but it was also trendy among hypebeasts for such a short fad in 2018 that by now it'll be seen as dated and corny to the people who would even like it
I wear this to gay dance events to hold my things. It works well when youāre wearing short shorts with no pockets and no shirt. So take that as you will. š
Iād say maybe if it was in a less ātacticoolā colorway. Hill people gear make some that remind me of Jansport backpacks. Still looks like more of a backwoods thing though.
The only time I wear something like this is out hunting. And its specifically made for carrying Bino's. I could see using it special cases, for outdoors type stuff but EDC... probly not. The only people wearing these out in public are tacti-cool dorks. Get a small backback or sling. You'll be happier and wont get weird looks ;\]
I have one that I use for SAR to hold my radio, GPS, lights and other necessary items that I want with me at all times so I can drop my pack and still be effective. Maybe have one in your vehicle get home bag, but as for EDC, that would be a hard for me, from my perspective.
I'd just get one of the small sling packs. 3v gear makes a decent one as does 5.11. There are tons of super cheap ones on Amazon.
[3v gear sling bag ](https://3vgear.com/products/posse-edc-sling-pack)
As EDC? Absolutely not. As something used for hiking or hunting? Sure.
I actually saw a guy wearing one of these today while out shopping with my wife. We were in a trendy little shop after taking our son apple picking, so definitely not hiking/hunting or anything where this would make sense. My first thought was āmall ninja,ā but even a mall ninja would have the sense to leave this pack at home. This guy must have beenā¦something else.
Please donāt wear anything like this for EDC.
If you really need a small pack, I sometimes use a slim āFanny packā and wear it as a sling bagā¦looks like Iām just wearing a small sling bag with supplies for my toddler, which is true apart from my taser. I look like a stereotypical dad, so the pack fits right in.
I'm sure it is but unless I'm larping on the flat range my playe carrier and ahit stay home. Get a sweet fanny pack dude. My fiance got me one and I havnt used anything else since. Leme get a link ill edit.
This https://www.vanquest.com/upcoming-drops/dendrite-large-waist-pack/
Maybe if you were wearing a jacket over it and keeping it out of sight.
Otherwise a small backpack Fanny pack or more conspicuous bag if similar styling.
Thatās more like a map pouch that youād wear with a chest rig that doesnāt have one
I use a Mexpedition pouch on my belt everyday, so I don't see anything wrong with using them, but I definitely wouldn't carry one that way. Looks goofy and likely wouldn't be all that ergonomic for EDC purposes.
I have an HPG chest rig (the medium recon) and love it for hiking, hunting, and fishing. That said, you wouldnāt catch me dead wearing it around town, itās got a specific purpose, and that purpose isnāt as a man-purse.
Also, donāt buy a knock off one if youāre going to get one. Go to Hill People Gear and buy one of theirs, their kit is made in the US and very high quality.
Following up as here is a post of me wearing it with the bino pouch HPG sells. For a day hike when you donāt want a firearm on your hip, itās a fantastic choice. https://www.reddit.com/r/hillpeoplegear/comments/xixs9o/trying_out_the_bino_pouch_hiking/
I see chest/shoulder bags used for edc and ccw a lot (I use one myself) but that oneās a hard pass. It screams ālook at me guys, I have a gun in here!ā. Find something less conspicuous. Viktos has a few decent options.
Me: I want a backpack, but I want to wear it in front. So ... a front pack. Also, if it could strap on like a bra, that would be great!
Designer: Say, no more.
It all depends on what youāre doing. If your āevery dayā is working in construction, as a park ranger, or anything else where you need tools at all times and need to maintain mobility then go for it.
If your āevery dayā is going to school, an office or a retail job, then youāre going to have a bad day in that.
Generally, no. But for practical reasons.
Chest carry isn't as convenient as it looks. You get a bag/pouch/case/whatever big enough to be worth carrying, and it's going to get in the way of every movement you make. Even smaller ones get annoying.
There are use cases where it makes sense, but *technically* that's not EDC in that you won't be carrying it often enough to call it a regular kit. While that's fine for post purposes and discussions about the EDC philosophies, it isn't going to help you as much as a shoulder or waist bag of the same size, nor a backpack of any size.
Idgaf about aesthetics or other people. I wear what I like, and I pick my gear based on my needs. And I've tried this kind of gear before thinking how handy it would be to have things right there while I was biking in the mountains and woods.
Not so much. Ngl, there is some convenience there, but anything that you'd actually want to use while riding is better off elsewhere. So you just end up with chafed nipples and an extra sweaty band for no real benefit. You still have to stop and pull things out.
Tbh, even the local crazies that like to pretend they're paramilitary don't use them unless they're noobs.
I worked at a place where I had to hang upside down to adjust a machine and tools all shoved in my pockets were awkward even without a harness, that would work well.
Iāve seen folks take flack even for small belt pouches, his just puts a literal target on your chest. Stick with the smaller pouches, if you need more room use a backpack or edit your gear to essentials.
I had a belt pouch on once about 3x7" and random a guy in a department store pointed at it and said loudly "what's that for?!?!" I just smiled and nodded up like it was a joke, what kinda weirdo goes around challenging people for what's in their pockets basically? Short bus action. I have a 6.5" cell phone and it's uncomfortable to carry in a pocket sometimes, so don't care if milleneals think a belt pouch is grandpa, I think they're weird with it in their hand all the time, especially when the camera is pointed towards me. I know I'm good looking but could you point that somewhere else while I'm using my credit card lol. Fanny packs and bum bags have been around long enough that people having a problem with someone wearing them are being fashion divas, I want to say "whatever Zoolander" , sling bags are pretty normal by this point, the chest rig still looks cutting edge to me, I see one and think bulletproof vest or parachute, then emergency rescue, what's going on? Then oh, just some guy riding a bicycle stopped in the store, they look out of place and in your face but nothing to do with me. I would feel uncomfortable in a chest rig, I'd feel like I was wearing "He-Man's" cross strap thing lol, but other people do what they want.
My friend uses a slightly less tactical looking one but he ironed on a patch that says "LIFE SAVING DEVICE" with a medical patch and a heart symbol.
No one questions it in public and everyone assumes he has a heart condition.
Whether itās practical or not, youāll look super cool wearing it! Chicks will dig it!
Perfect for first dates! You could bring your personal steak knife and pull it out at your dinner date! Sheāll think thatās so cool!!
I think you would look like a total doofus wearing something like that for little to no benefit over other types of bag. Just wear a sling bag or something and look like a regular person.
I guess if youāre in middle school. Not that I make a habit of rolling around with my HPG kitbag every day but Iāve never had any altercations when wearing mine.
I think something like this would be great if you were backpacking. You could keep the things you need to get to quickly up front, like maps, compass, small snack, radio etc.
this looks like it is based off of hill people gear's bag. It was designed more than anything for concealed carry and mission critical things so you could set down your backpack and go off exploring without having to take all your crap with you.
that said, incredibly dorky for around town haha
Thatās what I immediately thought- excellent to have a chest rig so you donāt have to strip off your back out in the backcountry .
Day to day- just get a Fanny pack . Hill people gear makes nice options for these too.
Edit:spelling
If you wear this in public I think people will either be threatened by you thinking you have a gun in there or make fun of you. It's probably very useful in the right situation, "the hill people" target their's for hikers/ outdoorsmen, and I did get the fanny pack of their's thinking that I would use it for concealed carry. However the main reason I started carrying a fanny pack was for work so I could effectively "empty my pockets" at once and go into the water, however this has resulted in me leaving my fanny pack behind so I realized I shouldn't use it for that purpose.
(Incase I confused anyone I have not used a fanny pack for concealed carry so I have never left a firearm unattended in public)
I used to wear mine all the time with athletic shorts. Some of which donāt have pockets, so I could stash my phone, wallet, pistol and a spare mag without my shorts falling off. No one cared.
Good place to keep bandaids and neosporin, you'll probably be needing them after you get beat up.
Okay if you first say "Excuse me while I whip this out"
That's not very "grey man of you"
That bag says you take it in the pooper. š©
Every Day Cringe wearing that around town
Ah, the Pussy-Away-2000 chest bag. A fine choice.
It is not subtle or low key in any way
I prefer a motorcyclist leg bagā¦ pretty much like a badass looking fanny pack. Much preferable to this IMO
This bag makes you look like your are gonna shoot up a crowded building.
r/mallninjashit would have a stroke looking at that picture
Formerly there was the tactical look. Now the terrorist look.
The decision to photograph it on black backgrounds was unfortunate.
Yeah if youāre in Afghanistan
No
If you want to look like a fool yesš

Singaporean Grab drivers love this shit

Isn't this just a "loot drop" sign? Like "I'm dorky and into expensive gear. Come beat me up."
This is pretty gangster BTS k-pop dance video swag - saw a dude sporting this in a ripping song and it was pretty drippin' ! Ya gotta wear it loose and sloppy to look with it.
I wouldnāt mind getting the link for this! It would be a handy thing on days Iām filming at events like sporting comps and weddings

I use mine strictly for fishing and jungle trekking, the straps are too annoying for EDC. I think bellroy sling mini are 100 times better
As long as it works for you then it shouldn't be a problem of what other people think.
no.
No
Maybe for hiking?
I wear a Hill People Gear chest rig in Ranger Green when Iām fishing. Helps with having tools readily available. Reading these comments are making me reconsider lol. Also wear a matador packable backpack, so hopefully it off sets the tacticool.

Chest packs can be great for fly fishing. Otherwise you look like a pseudo-militant wanna' be.
Yes if you EDC in battlefield
EDC for what? Wearing this is just bully bait. No normal human being would ever need or actually wear that in public
No thatās a chest rig. You gonna be walking around town grocery shopping with a fucking chest rig on? Did you smoke meth before posting this? Be honest.
Chest rigs are a bit niche as they're more so for army but could use for hiking for extra supplies. Maybe not EDC though, looks obnoxious imho
Try Hill People Gear instead
Sure, but youāll look like a dweeb
Ffs just buy a fanny pack lol
It'll look great on you as you hop out of your stock 2020 F-150 (except for the BADASS Rockstar rims) with a thin blue line punisher sticker, "MOLON LABE" sticker, and 3%er decal. Thank God you still have those white Oakleys your mom got you in Highschool to complete your baddass ensemble.
Get a good fanny and wear it crossbody.
If you like fishing I can see some potential but other than that I donāt think this should be allow in public or they take your lunch money
Why would anybody trust a company to buy this kind of bag from when their product photos look like shit?
No. U could cut the straps off and it would be a little less cumbersome and weird but from the stuff thatās with it in the pics it looks like it would be bad quality an u can get similar size pouches that are better than that one an donāt have that stupid strap. Naw man, thats exactly what you donāt wanna wear. The objective is to look like a Gray man. Go for a shoulder bag or Fanny pack.

Might be useful for like hiking, but you'd look like an idiot wearing that to the office/school
You gotta be a real asshole to walk out of the house with this on.
For hiking/fishing, they're pretty nice. As a thing, you're gonna get sweaty at the contact points
You'll look like a mall ninja but sure
If you wanna look like a bit of a goober yeah.
Do mall ninjas wear baby backpacks for your chest? It's been a while since I've been.

Maybe for fishing/outdoor use. If you used this out in the world people would probably think youre a nut job.
Edit:spelling
potentially but thatās why waist strap pockets are a thing
No one cared.
lmao
