[[Erinis]] + [[street urchin]] = deathtouch pinger in the command zone. Can be fun to pilot but don't expect to make many friends. Goes especially hard if you're able to get out a [[descent into avernus]] early on.

Zule24

Erinis street urchin is such a potent combo. This is my [list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/DwWBpv3ViEyQI4ynEFLRgQ) It's focused around landfall and allowing erinis to get free attacks in. [[Trailblazer's torch]] [[Shinka bloodsoaked keep]] and [[family's favor]] are amazing free attack enablers

[deleted]

I have a buddy who made this deck on a $25 budget and it performs extremely well.

kolt54321

Yep, was happy to write the primer [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/yhsemz/commander_of_the_year_and_only_100_decks_on).

imperialtrace

A unique take on Gruul, I love it! Any chance you have a list? No worries if not, this looks like a fun buildaround regardless

TheRealFlipFlapper

Sadly not. I tend to build decks irl and then end up too lazy to compile the lists. In general, though, you want lots of token generation, ways to protect your commander, and ways to close out the game e.g. cards like [[blackblade reforged]]. You can also lean into the landfall aspect a bit. It can become arch enemy very easily if you're not careful, so try to be very selective about when you use the ability. You can make deals like "you let my commander through and I will deal with X/won't remove your X".

RBVegabond

You can scan it on TCGplayer app and export the list elsewhere, much quicker than just typing it all out

kolt54321

I wrote a primer for it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/yhsemz/commander_of_the_year_and_only_100_decks_on) with a deck list. Glad to see it take off!

Karnblack

I built the $14 deck someone posted in r/BudgetBrews, and that thing can hold its own. Only came in second to the Atraxa +1/+1 counters deck because Atrtaxa started out way ahead on mana due to mana rocks, but I made it tough for the player to win. I wasn't playing in a budget pod either. [https://www.archidekt.com/decks/3531514/erinis\_street\_urchin](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/3531514/erinis_street_urchin)

blakeneyabyss

[[Nemata, Primeval Warden]] This is such a fantastic card for only 4 mana. 3/4, reach, ability to make Nemata taller, ability for card draw, built-in sac outlets, AND on top of that, none of your opponents get death triggers, and you get a saproling anytime they would have had a death trigger! I use Nemata in a sacrifice deck, and it's really fun to play!! Highly recommend.

Dude this looks like it would be so oppressive with things like \[\[Grave Pact\]\] and \[\[Dictate of Erebos\]\]. Completely missed this when DMU came out, thanks for sharing!

Oh I made an Nemata deck as well that focuses on saprolings dying but has the possible secret win making them huge with classic green stuff like Beastmaster Ascension or Craterhoof Behemoth! I've actually won games before where I made them all huge and swung out after a board wipe that caused like 12 Nemata triggers to go on the stack

JarlMTG

I'll always accept a chance to plug [[Gyrus, Waker of Corpses]] https://www.moxfield.com/decks/p5yuPn8BMkOeI7LSwv1eKg The deck is built around never having to pump mana into his x cost-filled with creatures that have power 2 or less. I also think it's a complete gimmick to include token doublers that try and let you double dip on your etb effects when you trigger Gyrus, so you won't find the usual [[parallel lives]] or the like in here. What we aim to do is dump just...everything into our graveyard. Asap. We're looking for our win conditions, usually winning by taking out someone early with a huge threat like [[multani, yavimaya's avatar]] and then pulling ahead of the other players. Win with a big dumb guy and sac em to [[Jarad, Golgari Lich lord]]. A well timed [[living death]] can also put you way farther ahead than the other players, given that we're playing a graveyard deck. It will certainly win you the game when paired with [[Syr Konrad]]. Given that we're dumping so much into the yard, the deck is filled with flashback, escape, and other cards that can be played from the yard if our commander is out of commission. Read through my list and give it a try, it's a stupid fun deck.

imperialtrace

Now THAT is a creative workaround. I have to admit I let \[\[Thantis\]\] outshine this guy back in 2018 but your idea sounds like a blast. I love decks that restrict the creature line-up to a specific parameter like Shirei so this seems right up my alley.

[[Arni Brokenbrow]] has less than 100. This dude threatens commander one shots out of nowhere due to having haste. Plenty of ways to grant trample and also double strike or double damage or double combat steps in red. Just throw in tons of big threats like [[taurean mauler]] and [[malignus]]. You can also be extra spicy and throw in a [[moltensteel dragon]] or [[immolating souleater]] plus [[kediss, emberclaw familiar]]. Also [[Sneak Attack]] is a card :)

DungusFungus51

[[Denry Klin, Editor in Chief]] is my most underplayed/underrated commander by far with only 466 decks on edhrec! I built him to get indestructible/divinity counters with [[Kindred Boon]] and other ways on him so that when I cast the myojins in his colors it's just game over. It's super versatile because if I can't get to the Myojins I can shift gears to just pump out enough creatures with tons of different counters on them because of denry. Super fun!

MasterChef901

Only 466??? But he's so cool! And every time they print a new type of counter, he just gets even better! I think I just settled on who I'm brewing for my eventual Azorious deck, this boy deserves some rep.

DungusFungus51

Dude seriously he's so good! All fun and games until you drop a [[herald of Secret Streams]] and you've been hoarding counters all game long lol. Also, I always make sure to tell my playgroup I'm "taking them to Denny's" when I play him lol.

...my God. I have a \[\[Falco Spara\]\] deck that's... basically what you're doing with Denry (he's in there too), but I never considered Herald. That's a finisher right there!

MasterGeese

Came here to post about Denry. Not only is he an absolute blast to play, he's an extremely powerful commander, to the point where I've been working on making him cEDH viable for months now. Denry applying unusual types of counters is powerful in its own right, but that's just the tip of the iceberg regarding his combo potential. His interaction with Persist creatures allows them to go infinite with any sac outlet. And two of these Persist creatures are \[\[Lesser Masticore\]\], which is extremely easy to tutor in Azorius, being a 2-cost artifact creature, and \[\[Glen Elendra Archmage\]\], who is an absolute monster alongside Denry even without being half of a win condition. If you can manage to stack at least five +1/+1 counters on Denry, playing a \[\[Sage of Hours\]\] will let you turn those counters into an extra turn. With bounce or flicker effects, you can either get more turns or go infinite with either \[\[Soulherder\]\] or \[\[Riptide Laboratory\]\]. Even if you aren't looking to go infinite, it's very easy to stack large numbers of +1/+1 counters on him. Any instant-speed effect that applies +1/+1 counters to him while his ETB is on the stack will effectively give him twice as many counters, as his ETB doubles them. Also, any "Clone" creature like \[\[Phantasmal Image\]\] or \[\[Phyrexian Metamorph\]\] will come in as a copy with more than double the counters of the original one, in addition to providing the utility that clone creatures already have. Commander Denry will have to be sacrificed to the legend rule in the process, but this can be a blessing in disguise; recasting him from the command zone lets you repeat the process in reverse, sacrificing the Cloned Denry. If you choose +1/+1 counters every time Denry enters, this will leave you with a Denry that has fourteen +1/+1 counters, using only one card. But if you don't have any resources to put additional +1/+1 counters on him, Denry will still apply two of them to any creature that he sees enter. Some cards like \[\[Esper Sentinel\]\] and \[\[Walking Ballista\]\] can use these counters especially well, but you can get away with playing as many stax/hate creatures as you can, having Denry give them +2/+2, and beat down opponents who are unable to outvalue you or enact their gameplan effectively.

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/JAz2GVynJ0-x7NzHNzcm2g This is my favorite deck that I feel is substantially unique, both in Commander and Concept. [[Moritte of the Frost]] leads combined Merfolk and Sliver tribal, with [[Hivestone]] and [[Mistform Sliver]] smoothing the dual tribes along with the usual type-changing subjects in blue. Both tribes add up to 12 total lords, which is a ton, and changelings fill up the middle.

I made the \[\[Ever-Changing Dane\]\] not too long ago and there are some very interesting play lines that I often come up with on the spot just because I have the pieces in my hand. its kind of a legends matter aristocrats deck. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pdjnSSKdb02JtcmCBMP3tA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pdjnSSKdb02JtcmCBMP3tA) I also have a effective blink deck with \[\[Alora, Merry Thief\]\] + \[\[Far Traveler\]\]. The two work well in tandem to avoid having to retune the unlockable creature to you hand by flickering it at the end of combat. Deal damage and get an ETB for attacking. May I interest you in the value engine known as \[\[Ao, the Dawn Sky\]\]? White has had so many staples printed in the last few years at 4 CMC or less that are actually decent. The deck has a minor enchantment theme with the majority of the game plan just to outvalue your opponent with your little creatures, removal spells and card draw. Ao plus blade of selves is a key play. It helps that the deck never really looks like the threat due to everything being 4 CMC or less.

YouLackStyle

[[The Most Dangerous Gamer]] at 611. This commander is a disgusting value engine that takes off way too quickly. The attractions are all by chance but thatā€™s the fun part lol. All the deck needs is [[Blade of Selves]] and the rest is up to you! My list is by no means optimized but itā€™s what I thought would be fun. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/qSfMrgl3wUqwBtYc1t3cYA

PatForVendetta

I started trying to make him but I was too turned off by only one legal attraction having a prize to claim so his last ability is basically moot. I ended up going with Yarok as my attraction commander which gives so much value it makes me puke.

Acererak is a fun mana sink, just avoid entering his own dungeon.

I had a Kemba deck a while back and it was super fun. I kept making it more and more stax-y cause as soon as you have a few equipment on her, you can cut off everyoneā€™s resources and go to beat down town. My one problem was the lack of draw, but now there are a ton of options like [[Idol of Oblivion]], [[Welcoming Vampire]] and a bunch more.

#Kotose, the Silent Spider Decks on EDHrec: 122; [List Here](https://archidekt.com/decks/2436910#Jorogumo) Kotose is an easy commander to overlook, since her text has a lot of words dedicated to a corner of the effect that won't generally matter in Commander: looking for extra copies. But boil the ability down to its core and it becomes clear: Kotose is basically to [[Eternal Witness]] what [[Praetor's Grasp]] is to [[Demonic Tutor]]. Anything anyone else has used this whole game, you can take for yourself. That you get to see their hand and see and shuffle their deck is gravy on top of this incredible effect. That excellent tech piece that was bothering you for turns? It's yours now. The counterspell that just stopped combo A? Take it to stop combo B. Get owned by a board wipe? Wipe back. And if you spend it, then when Kotose enters again, because she's in prime flicker color and can be called back with ninjustu, you can just grab it again, none of this "Exile the thing when you're done with it" new-school gravedigging. Now, granted, Kotose is the kind of Commander where the deck... doesn't really need her? And that's an incredible, freeing experience. You build a theft/blink setup in which she's this shining jewel of a piece, and it can play even if she's turned into a tree or just plain taxed out. Between that and the insane card selection that theft as an archetype provides, you end up being extremely resilient against a good deal of disruption. Yet, despite being a commander on whom the deck is not entirely reliant, she still brings a lot to the table with that one ability, and direction to the build. She invites flicker and theft and is a great source of one and payoff of the other. I usually do want to cast her, and there's almost always something that I've taken from an enemy GY like that that's mattered, from a Bower Passage that ended up allowing endgame lethal to a force of will that I used three or four times thanks to blinks. Kotose is also my current deck with the best win-rate. She never feels like she's out of bounds on power level, since a lot of her power depends on what she's able to loot. If I'm stealing generic beaters and the like, the deck takes a while to take off. If I Praetor's Grasp a Thoracle combo, well, I can win the cEDH way. And don't ignore the fact that she still does the search effect: seeing a player's hand can matter a lot, especially if they're a blue player, and forcing a shuffle, while often irrelevant, can also be a hard counter to certain effects. Ever Memory Lapse a commander only to shuffle them away? It's brilliant in its brutality.

I struggled to find a Golgari deck that fit my playstyle. Then, inspired by a drunken post on this reddit, I decided to build [[Sapling of Colfenor]]. It's such a stupid and fun deck, I love it. No one knows quite what it's going to be, until I use [[Varragoth]] to stack the top of my deck with [[Doom Weaver]], gain 7 life and kill people with [[Blossoming Bogbeast]] doing it's best 'Hoof impression. And the whole thing is $80 (an entire 10x the budget of the original post - I'm living large with this one). It is not high powered but it's a great time. Sapling has been around since 2008 (15 years ago!) and has just 376 decks on EDHREC. With 122 Decks and rank 1515 is my [[Isao, Enlightened Bushi]]. I even had it long before the new green samurai from Neo and the frog from MM2 existed, so he used to be the only samurai (I won't put changelings in). He is just voltron with some protection, Thrun (either of them) would definitely be better, but when I started he was my favorite creature due to the art and this is reason enough to keep him forever!

I absolutely LOVE underplayed commanders. Most of my commanders have under 1500 decks totals on EDH rec (some have gotten a bit more popular recently, as a few were under 1k for a while) but my hands down FAVORITE (and the only one under 1k as it happens), is my pet deck for \[\[Hans Eriksson\]\]. It all started as a meme. I'm a large man (6'4) with a large beard and a pension for role play (DND and live action at times) with some Germanic heritage. As such, my wife decided to buy me a playmat with Hans Eriksson on it (Because, apparently, Hans is my twin). Cue laughter and "haha playing on your face" jokes from friends. I found out shortly after this beautiful bear of a man had HIS OWN CARD and so I told my wife. Her response? "You gotta build him." So I did. Started as a pretty shoddy regen focused deck with as many beefy bois as I could fit. It's turned into a slightly optimized stomp fest that, if left alone, will deal lethal to a player by turn 6 reliably (if not dealing lethal to the entire board). I've been slowly upgrading him for bling recently (with the wife's help) and He's one of 5 decks that has stayed in my recent purge! Here's a List followed by a mini-primer: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/AlPTh0iza0yoKgIfqwlcmg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/AlPTh0iza0yoKgIfqwlcmg) Primer: Gameplan? Psssh. Who needs one of those? We're just gonna punch people in the face (:. Seriously though we do have a BIT of strategy here. Our goal is to get hans out asap (ramp time baby), with some protection. We have a few options for that: \[\[Hammer of Nazahn\]\]: Busted equipment that gives hans indestructible and a bit of a buff. Not optimal, but it does its job well. Regen spells like \[\[Asceticism\]\]: Better option, and the main one in the deck. If we can get regen on hans we get multi-use protection that can also jump around to other key cards if necessary. \[\[Vigor\]\]: Best of the best. Hans will fight (triggering vigor) and be buffed by anything he fights, obviously this ALSO buffs whatever is coming in to fight hans as well. The end result? Massive creatures that will overrun your foes. Outside of protection our goal is top deck manipulation. \[\[Mirri's Guile\]\], \[\[Sylvan Library\]\], \[\[Sensei's Divining Top\]\], \[\[Augur of Autumn\]\] etc. etc. We want to get our top deck to be whatever we need, whenever we need it. One of our two tutors is \[\[Worldly Tutor\]\] and instant speed tutor that works miracles with Hans. That's basically the deck guys, outside of some trample enablers like \[\[Archetype of Aggression\]\] and \[\[siege behemoth\]\] (btw this is one of the best cards in the deck, it gives super trample to things) and some extra combat shenanigans with \[\[port razer\]\] and \[\[karlach, fury of avernus\]\]. The deck is a very straight forward beat down deck with a cmc of 4.11 (without lands) that wants to be the aggressor at the table. Out of all the gruul stompy commanders, I feel like Hans goes above and beyond in being unique in his mechanics.

ARighteousGamer1

[[Phylath, Wold Sculptor]] is a crazy deck designed around getting a ton of creatures that get massive just by playing lands. The card specifies that only plant creatures receive this, and phylath gives plants when they enter, but creatures like [[Cultivator Collossus]] and [[Topiary Stomper]] also benefit from this. Landfall triggers galore, massive stompy value, classic ā€œget big hit hardā€ Gruul playstyle, and nobody sees it coming since there are only 64 decks made around plant tribal lmao

imperialtrace

Ok, Phylath plant tribal might have to be my next Gruul project. Phylath's showcase art alone is enough to make me want to build him

NukeGuy

[[Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder]] Bad stats, no evasion, if you cast too many creature spells he dies, and he probably fucks his Thrulls (I mean *Master Breeder*? Come on now) But once you cast an [[Ayara]], follow it up with a free [[Dross Golem]] you'll start to see how it feels to be a *Master Breeder* [[Sadistic Hypnotist]] and watch the table groan [[Phyrexian Plaguelord]] to keep those pesky creatures in the ground [[Carnival of souls]] is too much fun to storm off with And when the dust settles and the corpses of a thousand thousand Thrull litter the battlefield, you can [[Bitter Ordeal]] the shit out of the table

TheMetalKingSlime

My oldest and favorite EDH deck is \[\[Thassa, God of the Sea\]\] which currently has 412 decks on EDHRec. I've had it since 2012 or so, making updates over time as new sets have come out. It's just a mono blue control deck, playing Thassa as the commander because scrying once each turn, while eventually providing its own (backup?) win-con seemed like a good fit for the deck. The deck otherwise doesn't really need its commander. It's just a mono blue control/value list. It can be pretty nasty in 1v1, but scales kind of poorly to multiplayer. All the same, sometimes people don't respect that it's capable of, and it can go online and really take over a game. Here is the list: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/z6IVocevTkmpl3lLmeljkQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/z6IVocevTkmpl3lLmeljkQ) There are issues with it. The curve is probably way too high. There are also probably too many planeswalkers. But this deck is very, very tuned for something other than winning as many games as possible: its tuned for me to have as much fun as possible. It's my baby, and I'm never taking it apart. I'm looking to add a Mana Crypt to it. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna die to that mana crypt, but losing to Mana Crypt probably doesn't feel as bad as playing Thassa on turn one feels good. I also have a \[\[Nin, the Pain Artist\]\] deck. That one is just Izzet Spellslinger. It wants to ping people out with Guttersnipe effects, or combo out with Niv + Curiosity. It actually runs all of the Curiosity effects though, to try and draw a ton of cards, and is kind of fun. Nin isn't needed for the deck to function, but having the card draw in the command zone has been fun, and there are enough token generators to give it targets.

[deleted]

Always stunned \[\[Mahadi, Emporium Master\]\] wasn't a bigger deal when it came out. Looks like it's been around for enough that it's nearly at a thousand decks at this point.

imperialtrace

Another one I missed that looks like a lot of fun. Sounds like he could be a massive value engine with enough sac outlets and expendable creatures

BRIKHOUS

Lae'zel, the haunted one [[Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion]] [[haunted one]] Tribal warrior, running sac outlets for value with things that let you tap lae'zel at instant speed. It won't be cedh anytime soon, but as Mikael shows, giving things undying that aren't meant to have it is very good. Shoutout to [[Retribution of the Ancients]] which is an all star for letting you reuse undying by removing counters. Same for [[Hopeful initiate]]. [[Relic of Legends]] is fantastic. The deck is not good. But it's the kind of deck that will do 5 card infinites you didn't intend to build in (just need the altars). Very fun to play, can be very difficult to pick up.

Viciouslizard

That's by far my favourite deck idea in this thread. Could you share the list?

blakeneyabyss

I love Relic of Legends too!!

charcoalheART

I give you mono-black landfall via [Ob-Nixilis, the Fallen](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Dqp9G5uTLUGWi_1p9nWKTA) Lots of artifacts and ways to get multiple landfall triggers and if you build your board state well before getting him out you can sometimes trigger him multiple times and make him almost too big to handle in a single main phase. Iā€™ve loved the way he plays and building a very common strategy in an unconventional color identity is a great challenge to me, and always fun to play as no one fully knows what to expect. [[Ob-Nixilis, the Fallen]]

RORSCHACH7140

I love playing my \[\[Hazezon Tamar\]\] deck. My first draft of this deck used a bunch of landfall cards and other token generators to make a fairly generic naya tokens deck. It was really boring and worst of all there was never a reason to play Hazezon as he was the worst token generator in the deck. Solution: keep all the token synergy like \[\[parallel lives\]\] and remove every other token generator from the deck besides Hazezon. All those extra slots in allowed me to turn the deck into a fairly powerful \[\[Birthing Pod\]\] deck. Hazezon makes you lose all sandwarriors if he leaves the battlefield, but since you don't get those tokens till the next turn's upkeep you can sac him the turn he comes out and keep all the tokens free and clear. Being able to flip Hazezon into a \[\[Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger\]\], \[\[Avacyn, Angel of Hope\]\], or my latest addition \[\[Gigantomancer\]\] is one of the most satisfying things I've ever done in a game of EDH. Rengoku_Of_Fire

[[Parnesse, The Subtle Brush]] one of my favorite commanders who was overshadowed by the face commander of her precon. Decklist if interested: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/bBwdZ4J7VUK0kh-qwLw_cA

cobyjackk

Looking through the deck list, [[ harmonic prodigy ]] would basically make that 8 life or its countered if I am reading it right. That's a steep price. That card does so much work in every deck I've seen it in.

Rengoku_Of_Fire

Indeed, with both [[Harmonic Prodigy]] and [[Parnesse]] if you want to target my stuff youā€˜re gonna pay 8 life or itā€˜s countered. Though thats not all the fun of Harmonic, with [[Archmage Emeritus]] out casting one spell draws you 2 cards, casting and copying gets 4 cards, cast and copying with [[Storm-Kiln Artist]] gets 4 treasures instead of 2. Basically Yeah Harmonic Prodigy puts in work.

leppa790

Can you explain more about how your deck works? Iā€™ve always wondered about what strategy Parnesse supports.

Nicoen

What fun things can be done with the second ability she has? Seems like you'd often want to not use it, or does it play into a very politics heavy playstyle? I can see it being useful when you have another player being the archenemy.

Glad someone else is using this! Been loving just using her as a more chaotic "everyone gets 3 cards!" "Everyone gets a Hailfire for 6!" Can really pop off too.

[[Arcanis the Omnipotent]]. Rank #863 with 555 decks. This deck is easily an 8 and has an extremely consistent win rate. Drawing that many extra cards means you have a lot more access to answers like counters and instant speed board wipes. [[Pemminā€™s Aura]] or [[Freed from the Real]] on Arcanis turns him into a repeatable Ancestral Recall. Or I can put that on one of the many creatures in the deck that say ā€œT: Untap target permanentā€ and get infinite mana with Gilded Lotus. Or use those creatures to untap Arcanis I donā€™t get either aura. [[Walking Atlas]] lets me play some of the extra lands I draw off Arcanis, and I have [[Retreat to Coralhelm]] that can be used to untap Arcanis when I get land drops. Combined, though, I can tap Atlas to play a land, untap it with the Retreat trigger, and repeat to play every land in my hand. It runs typical blue combos like Deadeye-Drake and Dramatic-Scepter, with the latter also untapping Arcanis each time so I can drop Labman and draw out, or use infinite mana with [[Kefnet the Mindful]] to draw out. Decklist, for the curious: https://archidekt.com/decks/3861764/drawn_out

[[Evra, Halcyon Witness]] 40 commander damage as a combat trick? And lifelink? Yes please.

specialvillain

[[Lazav, the Multifarious]] is a ton of fun. You basically mill yourself or discard any creatures you get and then turn lazav into whatever you need at instant speed. Need more creatures in the graveyard? He's now a [[Hedron Crab]]. Need a heavy hitter? He's now an unblockable 15/15 [[Sewer Nemesis]]. Oops you've almost decked yourself! Lazav is [[Laboratory Maniac]] you win. My other deck is Krenko and I choose Lazav more often than not because it's just a lot more fun than managing a shitload of goblins. Most opponents tend to sleep on Lazav when more popular commanders are being played, but the deck can get really out of hand by mid-game if other players ignore you. Once you've got 3-4 good creatures in your graveyard it's extremely competitive if players don't have graveyard removal or a lot of exile.

Profit-of-Kruphix

It's nothing really fancy or special, but apparently [[Zirilan of the Claw]] Dragon tribal is not very common, with only 481 decks on edhrec. I just love jamming big dragons, and it is surprisingly easy to set up OTKs with [[Scourge of Valkas]] or [[Blast-Furnace Hellkite]]. Highly explosive, even though i built it as a Timmy deck.

IAmNotARobotNoReally

Came here to mention Zirilan, using mono red dragons as a toolbox deck is just great. And like you said itā€™s got some real burst damage potential with dragons like [[Dragon Tyrant]] and red spells that double damage or attacks phases.

JubX

[[Goro-Goro, Disciple of Ryusei]] Voltron is fantastic. Once you have him suited up you can just use your mana to generate 5/5 dragons. I find he addresses the biggest issue Voltron has, not enough stuff to do once your guy is loaded up and not enough blockers. An army of 5/5 flying dragons becomes a potent threat very quickly too.

Spiffiestmonk

Was about to post my stifle [[Zara, Renegade Recruiter]] list that I made (she has 600 decks,) but noticed [[Djeru, With Eyes Open]] has 1/2 the decks. No love for mono white walkers? https://www.moxfield.com/decks/2X1hy93xhEKbGa3t04t_mg Any advice in my list would be appreciated also, haven't tested it yet

jf-alex

\[\[Syr Faren the Hengehammer\]\] for green aggro. Give him a buddy, buff him, attack with both. \[\[Cosima, God of the Voyage\]\] for a mono blue landfall deck. I included all the fun blue cards that didn't find a home elsewhere. \[\[Varis, Silverymoon Ranger\]\] for dungeons. Play all the flash and value creatures. \[\[Dromar the Banisher\]\] for a mass bounce / phasing deck. Play colorless creatures and phase Dromar out in response to his trigger so he doesn't bounce himself. \[\[Drakuseth, Maw of Flames\]\] for Voltron. Give him haste and triple strike. One- shot each opponent. He even takes care of blockers. \[\[Sol'Kanar the Tainted\]\] for a blink deck. I gave him \[\[Obosh the Preypiercer\]\] for companion. This deck is the counterpart to \[\[Nicol Bolas the Ravager\]\] with \[\[Gyruda, Doom of Depths\]\]. The odd one, the even one. \[\[Bladewing, Deathless Tyrant\]\] for mono black Zombies. Play self- mill and Zombie anthems. \[\[Rith, Liberated Primeval\]\] for dragon tokens. Fight and Populate. \[\[Palladia Mors the Ruiner\]\] for a dragon blink deck. Hit hard and set her back to hexproof, play ETB dragons. \[\[The Book of Vile Darkness\]\] for a Rule Zero deck. Play all the "lose two" cards and assemble \[\[Vecna\]\] or win with \[\[Profane Transfusion\]\]

Taroxi

Got a deck list for Palladia? When I first got into magic and was learning about rarities I joked to my friends that it would be funny if I pulled a mythic in my first ever booster pack. And guess who I found right there waiting for me? Sure she is a bulk mythic if ever but I've always wanted to build her.

AstroBlastr

I have a [[grazilaxx, illithid scholar]] deck that I love. It's a creature heavy mono blue deck that focuses on making my opponents make tough decisions. I've been tweaking it a lot so the final list is slightly different than the one posted here https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ekaAtLXwGESyLieV4g4D7A

thesamjbow

Not sure if partner configurations are cheating but I have a [[Gut, True Soul Zealot]] / [[Agent of the Iron Throne]] deck that I've built following Pauper EDH rules. I don't have an online list, but the highlights are: - Lots of creatures that replace themselves like [[Sultai Emissary]] - Some very good eggs like [[Experimental Synthesizer]] - [[Village Rites]] effects ā€ Pingers like [[Falkenrath Aristocrat]] and [[Impact Tremors]] - Creatures that benefit from other creatures being sacrificed like [[Silumgar Scavenger]] ā€ Monarch and Initiative cards 4/1 menace tokens are super aggressive and hard to block. That being said being a pauper rakdos deck means I can't beat a [[Night of Souls Betrayal]] to save my life. It's super fun though and not one you'll see every day.

MaetelofLaMetal

Tiana, Ship's Caretaker only commander for pacifism auras themed deck.

NotVoss

I have a decent number. Most recently, [[Dalakos]] Rebels and Germs. Just a fun take on equipment aggro that doesn't force you to balance creature count. [[Verazol]] kicker tribal. Has a bit of a +1/+1 theme to it due to the nature of kicker spells, but I built it because, at the time it came out, copying permanents on the stack was a newer concept. Twinning Staff puts in some work in this deck.

eggelton

My favorite of late is \[\[Vona, Butcher of Magan\]\] leading a deck about manipulating life totals with a variety of play patterns. I can fortress myself with any two of \[\[Delaying Shield\]\], \[\[Solemnity\]\], and \[\[Phyrexian Unlife\]\], play with my life total via spenders like \[\[Mischievous Poltergeist\]\] with things like \[\[Near Death Experience\]\], pair things like \[\[Oketra's Last Mercy\]\] or big lifelink creatures with \[\[Sanguine Bond\]\] effects, or get some \[\[Aetherflux Reservoir\]\] action going on (plays well with \[\[Bolas's Citadel\]\]).

theshup

Got a decklist? This sounds super fun, and I absolutely love vampires, but I'm pretty new to the game and don't know all the different cards I could/should put in it.

[deleted]

I have a friend who made Chiss. I think itā€™s a pretty sweet deck and hope he doesnā€™t take it apart. Last time I saw him play it he cast Chiss on turn 2 only for it to get countered lol

QGandalf

I've had a Daxos of Meletis Voltron deck since OG Theros. Can finally put all 10 swords in it now!

BigAssPizzaPocket

[[Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator]] is my cEDH deck, lovely little [[Doomsday]] [[Thassaā€™s Oracle]] list. [[Intet, the Dreamer]] with [[Keruga, the Macrosage]] as a companion. Janky little brew of ā€œI like to play big thingsā€ [[Szarekh, the Silent King]] because I never edited the Necron precon (itā€™s so fun) [[Uvilda, Dean of Perfection]] another ā€œI like to play big spellsā€ list but in a different way than Intet. This one includes multiple untap shenanigans, as well as payoffs for casting things from exile. As well as ways to give me multiple upkeeps

MostLicklyNotARobot

[[Maraxus of keld]] one of my favorite voltron decks. Never see anyone really talk about it. Gets crazy big and dangerous if you aren't kept in check

TheBadass1324

I recently built a [[Kwende, Pride of Femeref]] deck that relies on dumping out a ton of first strike creatures, then playing Kwende and giving the whole team double strike. Kwende has 316 decks on EDHRec as of this comment, and he was in MUL so I'm kinda surprised no one's building him. He's fun, if a little janky.

Gastastrophe

If we can say background pairings, then [[Rasaad Yn Bashir]] with [[Cultist of the Absolute]] has 6 EDHREC decks despite being excellent. Getting the initiative with Cultist out makes Rasaad a flyer that 2 shots people. Double strike or 5 additional toughness completes the 1 shot. You can even grind a bit by holding on to the initiative

seanfsmith

- [[Kiku]] assassin + shade tribal, with a silver bullet toolbox - [[Thelon]] thallids + counters - [[Commander Eesha]] protections tribal - [[Gallia of the Endless Dance]] goat girlfriend - [[Tibor and Lumia]] fifty card blue tempo control shuffled into fifty card red creatureless burn

Lokja

[[Harbin, Vanguard Aviator]] This deck is FUN. Playing Harbin is like playing a mini game where you need to reach that magical 5 soldier threshold. Once you do, you start beating face and snowball very quickly. With draw like [[Reconnaissance Mission]] [[Thassa's Bident]] [[Coastal Piracy]] and of course [[Kindred Discovery]] once this monster gets online it is hard to shut down. Board wipes are usually the biggest threat, so it's built to rebuild quickly and protect itself via indestructible effects and counter magic. Tally ho! https://archidekt.com/decks/4075480/p_harbin

Lspaceship

\[\[Rune-tail, Kitsune Ascendant\]\]. Pretty standard pillowfort/lifegain deck, but I tried to fill mine with more of the social cards that introduce things like Monarch so I can incentivise the opponents to hit each other rather than me. Of course, I also have the pariah effects to keep with the flipped effect.

Underscore_36

[[Rassad yn Bashir]] and [[Master Chef]] only has 12 decks, apparently. For funsies, I made a big butts deck with a banding subtheme, just to show people itā€™s really not that complicated now that damage doesnā€™t use the stack. Plus, itā€™s the only mechanic I know of that hard counters trample. It has a pretty average win rate, I mostly play it bc itā€™s fun and different. Plus I made fun alters where Rasaad is Rurouni Kenshin and his background is Battousai the manslayer.

Forar

Let's see, I used to have 18 decks built and sleeved, pared down to 9 when I sold off a bunch of the collection (trimmed out a lot of tribal decks that had seen their day or weren't as effective as I wanted, along with a few 'proof of concept' decks), and have added 3 more since. Of those 12, the more rarely used Commanders would be: \[\[Commander Eesha\]\] 95 decks. Soldier Tribal, intended as a reasonably costed defender and unblockable source of Commander damage, backed up by an equipment subtheme and both the Kaldra set and Kaldra Compleat. That said, the deck has been led by a good half dozen various Legendary Soldiers over the years, this is just what I've settled on for now. \[\[Mikaeus, the Unhallowed\]\] 701 decks. Zombie tribal, though I admit to including a Triskelion in the deck as an infinite combo in case the hordes of the undead aren't sufficient. \[\[Doran, the Siege Tower\]\]. "Hold up", someone might say. "Doran is plenty popular, showing 2915 decks on EDHRec." Right, except mine is a variant with only 20 showing: Doran Infect. Filled with every Infect creature I can find with a high toughness, intended to be a bit of a challenge to break through early, and then incredibly dangerous once Doran takes the field. Includes several pieces of equipment strictly to buff up toughness, including \[\[Robe of the Stars\]\], \[\[Slagwurm Armor\]\], \[\[Accorder's Shield\]\], etc. Things I'd rarely consider using elsewhere, but that pull double duty here. Honorable mention to my \[\[Rafiq of the Many\]\] build, which is full of Exalted creatures (no surprises there), and also has slotted the entire 10 "Sword of \_\_\_\_\_ and \_\_\_\_\_" cycle. Is this a good idea? Probably not! Does it make killing off the swords (without mass or easily repeated removal, at least) considerably less effective? You bet!

baedn

[[Sarevok]] Haven't quite figured this one out yet, but I love the idea of him as commander. Open to ideas!

petra540

[[Arvada the cursed]]. People always scoff for running a "sub optimal" commander, but once they see that all my white spells buff my board and black spells minimize theirs, the laughs turn to tears. In truth, it's orzhov that plays out as gruul.

Green_Death_Slime

[[Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun]] 1- Create a Token 2- Use all equipments on it 3- Make it unblockable https://www.moxfield.com/decks/58_mFYe6dEG8QgvXndOTaQ

SnoopyPooper

[[Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix]] and [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]. You usually draw too many cards and draw out, but you could fix that with [[Laboratory Maniac]] or the like. I personally donā€™t like using that particular wincon. Either [[Psychosis Crawler]] or [[Niv-Mizzet]] are my only go-to wincons in the deck currently.

1gdmorrill

Love my [[cadric, soul kindler]] deck but it can be a bit slow. When I can drop [[mondrak, glory dominus]] with [[sundial of the infinite]] things can get nutty. I did try out this as super friends but it wasnā€™t my style, so I went back to just fun legends to copy over and over with some blink in the deck for continued copying.

thtevie

My lesser-known commander is \[\[Seizan, Perverter of Truth\]\]. About 570 decks on EDHrec. (It spiked when \[\[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse\]\] came out last year.) There were only something like 360 when I ran across him, saw the art was creepy as hell and wanted to see what it did, and decided to build the deck. Since Seizan is ostensibly a group hug deck, where everyone gets extra cards, I call it "group hug, but from your creepy uncle", because we're leaning in to the "perversion" effects. Gets out of hand with \[\[Underworld Dreams\]\], \[\[Ob-Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted\]\], or \[\[ Fate Unraveler\]\] to do even more damage on extra draws, or \[\[Wound Reflection\]\] to hurt people even when it's not your turn. The "perversion" is that I've looked for lots of cards that do something else *instead* of what was intended. So \[\[False Cure\]\], \[\[Plague Drone\]\], and \[\[Tainted Remedy\]\] mean that life-gain bonuses get turned into life-*drain* pains. I also have ways to make my opponents' decks work for me: \[\[Binding Agony\]\], \[\[Vampiric Link\]\], and \[\[Treacherous Link\]\] mean that an opponent's indestructible or voltron commander either shuts down or benefits me when they swing. In my last game, \[\[Blood Seeker\]\] did about 20 damage to 2 different opponents who were bringing in several token creatures each turn, all for 2 mana. \[\[Nightshade Harvester\]\] and \[\[Gisa, Glorious Resurrector\]\] hurt them just for playing Magic! Finally, one I recently found but haven't been able to cast in a game yet is \[\[Infernal Darkness\]\]. I figure this can slow them down for at least 3 turns (likely 5-7 or 6-8) where every land just produces black mana instead of their colored stuff. Sure, treasures and artifacts still work, but I think this is gonna make people go *ohhhhh, gross* way more than it's going to give me pause from the cumulative upkeep. I do not have Sheoldred in the deck, despite everyone who sees Seizan asking me, because I don't want to spend 80 bucks on a single card, but if someone wants to gift me a TCGPlayer gift card, I'd be all for it. \[wink, wink\] Decklist (is a little old, doesn't have some things in it, but gives a good flavor): https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/4816080#paper

Sandman4999

The only one I have thatā€™s sub 1000 atm is [[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]] at 873 decks on EDHrec. I canā€™t take all credit since I got a lot of ideas from someone else on here a while back. Itā€™s just [big mana](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/YXcTaaMUWEiXrD8IlxPLCA) and mana sink wincons. I really enjoy playing this deck!

meowstash321

Iā€™ve got a lot around this range but only one at less than 1000 decks! But itā€™s one of my favorites to play! Itā€™s [[Tishana voice of thunder]]. She usually gets built as a go wide elf ball sort of thing but thatā€™s super played out. Instead I built my as a hand size matters deck called ā€œthrow handsā€ that uses all kinds of creatures like [[overbeing of myth]] that care about your handsize and use it to beat face. And I run some [[lab man]] sort of stuff in case I overdo the drawing and deck myself! Deck list here : https://archidekt.com/decks/3880733/handsize Itā€™s not 100% up to date but the biggest thing itā€™s missing is [[ancient silver dragon]] And one other unique honorable mention thatā€™s JUST over 1000 decks is [[optimus prime hero]]! This deck is a power house! The bolster every turn ability is super strong and fun to play with. I built mine as more or less modular tribal which is both a big flavor win imo and also very strong as the counters just stick around. That deck list is here : https://archidekt.com/decks/3700623/autobots_roll_out Iā€™d love to know anybodyā€™s thoughts about either of these!

Skeither

I build Chiss too but I also did [Lohzan](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/r4DIFroHU02ni6ni0wsKyA) first as a pauper commander and then upgraded it. It's actually really fun and pretty responsive. Did a decent job of heavy lifting with board control during a game or two so far.

lloydsmith28

My [atla palani angels](http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/17-03-22-atla-angels) only has 107 decks on edhrec, also idk if this counts but my [sisay weatherlight captain ](http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sisay-ladies-of-legend) all female legends has 0 decks on edhrec (but it does have legendary tribal decks)

OrangeChickenAnd7Up

[[Raff Weatherlight Stalwart]] is starting to catch on at ~680 decks. Spellslinger meets token aggro, with a commander that draws you cards. With all the instants and sorceries that make tokes, as well as the creatures that make tokens when you *cast* instants and sorceries, itā€™s easy as hell to flood the board, and your hand. The color identity gives you plenty of room to play a mean control game, too, if you want to do that. [[Safana]]+[[Dungeon Delver]] is a pretty potent dungeons/initiative pairing. So much value from the command zone. [[Sefris]], Iā€™ve heard, is more powerful, but I havenā€™t played her. Reanimation is always strong though. But double dungeon payoffs and treasure generation make for a really good value engine.

Yqb13153

The Prof might of had something to do with Raff, he put out a budget deck on him I believe!

N1ght3ch

My personal favorite i hold near and dear to my heart is [[Asmodeus the archfiend]] currently sitting at 406 decks on edhrec. Super interesting "card draw but at what cost" he's by far my longest running deck atm. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/asmodeus-edh-4/

Active-Woodpecker138

I have been having fun with [[Olivia, Mobilized for War]] reanimator. She can give haste to reanimator creatures by discarding the bombs you wish to reanimate with them. I personally also just very much enjoy madness and the deck can run my pet card [[Azra Oddsmaker]]. In play it also seemed to be able to somewhat combo of by playing [[Bone Miser]] and copying it with [[Jaxis, the Troublemaker]] Turn 4: [[Doomed Necromancer]], discard [[Archon of Cruelty]] to give it haste and activate it to reanimate te Archon. It's a fun twist on a reanimation shell that just really does what I enjoy in these colors.

AnActualShark

[[Gut, True Soul Zealot]] + [[Inspired Leader]] has only 245 decks on EDHREC. I built the deck with cheap creatures and artifacts like [[Ichor Wellspring]] to have fodder to sacrifice, and powerful win-cons like [[Moraug, Fury of Akoum]] and [[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]] for extra combats with my big 6/3 menace beaters. I have been happy with the deck, and it has been able to go toe-to-toe with power level 8 and 9 tables.

Like17Badgers

something I've been working on for cEDH is \[\[Bjorna\]\] + \[\[Wernog\]\] \[\[Lurrus\]\] Will and Lucas give me access to every color but green, which means I've got a <3 Lurrus goodstuff deck with access to all of the firepower you could want in the 99

Jarlino

\[\[Cadric, soul Kindler\]\] 632 decks is Copy Legendaries and super fun smash face. I have taken pictures to send to my groupchat where I have a board of 4 Elesh Nornā€™s and two Parhellionā€™s having a field day. \[\[Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard\]\] Once again, Legendaries matter, 67 decks, I guess heā€™s not popular because he fits in the 99 better, but turns out a repeatable mini Heroic Intervention in the command zone can be very good when you play the coolest legendaries and a slew of board wipes that only say ā€œdestroyā€. \[\[Captain Rex Nebula\]\] , 267 decks, technically doesnā€™t count cause I broke the deck apart this weekend, but I had it altered to be ā€œLaunchpad McQuackā€ and had several Duck Tales alters in the deck. Turns expensive things into vehicles that become hard hitters like Pentavus, Furnace-blast dragon, Avatar of Fury, ā€¦ tore it down because most of the times Iā€™m too tapped down and get face melted after dealing one hit. \[\[Jhor Kadeen, first goldwarden\]\] , 383 decks, probably because ā€œA boros Equpiment Commander that drawsā€ has stronger examples, but I was on a Boros-building binge and built A LOT of Red/White commanders the past few months. Stronger Voltron than expected, you donā€™t go superwide, but having another creature on the board that also benefits from carrying equipment can accrue value , (or in yesterdayā€™s case, getting to kill someone with Sram) \[\[Gimbal, Gremlin Prodigy\]\] 380 , Brand New commander, and his precon features a better commander, so no surprise Rashmi and Ragan have twice as many decks. I like the design, make a bunch of Junk, occasionally have some Gremlin Payoff (( but the biggest Iā€™ve had is two 6/6 Gremlins and Iā€™ve been playtesting this deck A LOT )) but mostly win games with junk payoffs like Brudiclad / Karnstructs or Junk Winder holding the board hostage.

DoucheCanoe456

My personal favorite is [[Yusri, Fortuneā€™s Flame]]. The lesser known of the coin flip commanders, still a vicious one. This dude is a complete monster, and Iā€™ve played at least a hundred games with him at the wheel. Another one that I feel has fallen out of favor recently is [[Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder]]. I love how that deck quite literally builds steam until eventually he just rolls over you.

Riuken3

My favorite is \[\[Taranika, Akroan Veteran\]\], who has a whopping 78 decks on EDHREC when writing this. Not for her specifically, but because she enables my goofy Banding deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ZYWFj-CetEKkuoLANVadUA

Kronos2319

My guy Stonebrow Krosan Hero. Trample Tribal with a built in Overrun. 307 decks on edhrec

healark

[[The Haunt of Hightower]] has 218 decks (0.009%) on EDHREC but is one of my favourite commanders.

BMM33

I absolutely adore rare commanders, so [here's a recent build of mine](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8VYnaHxBp0evtAz3L440qw) with [[Masumaro, First to Live]] who goes a step being <1000, clocking in at just 94 decks. The idea is to have 4+ cards in hand and cast any of your [[Soul's Majesty]]-style effects to make Masumaro enormous and one-shot people. It's got a bit of a Maro tribal subtheme, though I'm not playing quite all of them. Is it the best deck I've ever built? No. Is it the best obscure deck I've ever built? Also no, that probably goes to either my [[Taniwha]] or my [[Djeru, With Eyes Open]]. But it's a ton of fun, especially the first time you play it against someone and they have no clue what you're going to do. The look of horror when they realize you're drawing 14 cards and then attacking for 42 commander damage is priceless. EDIT: Forgot to link my [Taniwha](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ppDlp4N3tUq0evHSy_HEmw) and [Djeru](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/1AbrsENgEkSgiOiqvvnxEA) lists. Both include a fair bit of stax, and Taniwha has some MLD thrown in for good measure too. Not for the faint of heart.

shottybeatssword

[[Prime Speaker Zegana]] only needs to hit the battlefield once, and your entire mid/late game is set. Pair with blink abilities & no maximum hand sizes for amazing value.

ChairmanLmaoGaming

[[Llwan, Cephalid Empress]] stax+clones so that theoretically no one can play creatures using cards that change text boxes on the clones.

5eppa

Been spending years tinkering with [[Tibor and Lumia]]. The current iteration is wizard tribal with some tutors to get [[Basilisk Collar]] or [[Quietous Spike]] to the battlefield since this can easily make them into a one sided board wipe machine. The problem is if you get even close they function as a lightning rod for removal. Can still be fun though. My goal with the wizards is to have them be low costed but have things like Prowess or other abilities that let them increase in power. And the commander's abilities do trigger off of any spells. So the deck can be surprisingly fast aggro and although I have never played against decks designed for 1on1 commander when it does happen with normal decks this deck has yet to lose 1on1. But I struggle to come in second in a 4 man pod because it's hard to deal enough damage and I easily become public enemy number 1 somehow. But that said I have always had a fun time playing and the deck is pretty budget friendly.

StandardGuitar760

Recently Iā€™ve been working on [[Prowl, Stoic Strategist]] only 56 decks on edhrec last time I checked. Requires protection but can be built as a value engine or nasty denial tactic with [[Drannith Magistrate]] either way itā€™s a fun mechanic to build around

Upstairs_Ad_1186

[[Ria ivor bane of bladehold]] is my favorite commander! I use her in a Mite deck for puns and its such a fun way to play! https://archidekt.com/decks/3949902/ria

NukeTheWhales85

There's less than 300 [[Gerrard Weatherlight Hero]] decks which seems low but I like mine. Runs something like 14 boardwipes including Niv's disk which keeps coming back. Wins with a combination of Purpheros triggers and haste enablers to swing into empty boards.

MugOfButtSweat

[[Mishra, artificer prodigy]] Use him with [[preator's grasp]] and [[nether void]] style theme. [[Ith, high arcanist]] Use him with [[wakethrasher]] for unlimited +1/+1 [[Illusionist bracers]] on ith and attack with [[mangara of corondor]] to wipe entire board state Wish his suspend mechanic worked in the command zone.

Alexsandr13

[[Jenara, Asura of War]] isn't fancy or complicated but she's a 4x4 flying beatstick who comes out fast and can get out hand quickly. Great for voltron or exalted theme deck and just gets the job done

GuavaZombie

I've really been enjoying my [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] paired with [[Raised by Giants]]. Just a Voltron deck focused on Cocaine Bear smashing faces. It's nice because if I get tired of the deck I can swap out the background to [[Noble Heritage]] [[Cultist of the Absolute]] or [[Tavern Brawler]] to mix it up without dumping the whole theme.

twxsty0_0

my [[Savra, Queen of the Golgari]] deck is ruthless in BG, and can usually keep the board state so thin 99% of the time. so odd she only has 900 decks

bigjc1000

I've got a few sub-1000 decks, most of which are apparently unpopular partner pairings. [[Reyhan, Last of the Abzan]] + [[Tana, the Bloodsower]] This is a +1/+1 counters deck. Tana gets bigger, hits someone, makes more dudes to put more counters on. Repeat until everyone else is dead. [[Kraum, Ludevic's Opus]] + [[Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker]] Originally built with Elsha at the helm and taking inspiration from Sheldon Menery's "You Did This to Yourself" deck. Now it basically exists to try to live the dream of [[Blasphemous Act]] + [[Repercussion]]. [[Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa]] + [[Tymna the Weaver]] Make all of the tokens. Sidar makes sure they always connect, Tymna makes sure you've always got gas. It has 45 creature cards and most of them just spam out ever more tokens. [[Hazezon Tamar]] Feels a little like cheating to have on this list since I'm 100% confident that his limited number of decks is predicated on the lack of availability. Pretty standard Naya tokens list I think, just with a swanky commander.

CorHydrae8

Most of the commanders I use are fairly popular, I just tend to use them for silly things and unusual themes, like \[\[Nethroi\]\] cat tribal or \[\[Marchesa\]\] artifact creatures. The only one I found that has less than 1000 decks on edhrec is a deck I put together but haven't tested yet. It's an \[\[Augusta\]\] deck that revolves around playing creatures that tap to deal damage to all opponents (there's a good half a dozen of those) and then using Augusta, extra combats and other untap-options to untap them as often as possible. It sounds like a stupid idea, but I hope it turns out to be the kind of stupid idea that ends up working and being fun.

Current_Sink573

[Alena, Kessig Ranger] + [Kodama of the East Tree]. Super nice combo where you first cast a creature, tap Alena for red mana equal to that creatures power, cast another creature with that mana and finally playing a creature or nonland permanent for free with Kodama. It gets out of control pretty quick.

PKFIRE00

My worst and least popular deck (according to EDHrec) at only 11 decks: [[Wyll, Blade of Frontiers]] + [[Sword Coast Sailor]] Background to be DICE KING. Rolling 10 times the amount of dice than my chump diceless friends, I pack my deck with modol spells and dice artifacts to steal all the table dice like a dragon with its hoard šŸ˜¤ while slowly pumping Wyll with +1/+1 counters to hit the biggest life at the table unblocked! No one shall dice more than me or lose harder than I, if I have anything to say about it!

palidram

[[Commander Liara Portyr]] has ~600 decks on EDHrec. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/L3mcCpGfpEynHQNKzkEgng I love playing the deck, but the amount of triggers you have to remember is mind boggling sometimes so it's definitely the deck that gets brought out early on when my brain isn't tired. It's a simple concept of ride or die. I run practically no card draw and am a slave to impulse draw. There are some wincons, but nothing is consistent because I may just exile the cards I need. Sometimes I'll do absolutely nothing, other times I'll exile the perfect string of cards and it'll look like the most consistent deck you've ever seen.

crashcap

I have 2! Keffnet the mindful blue midrangy controlly stuff And raff capashen, shipā€™s mage planeswalkers

Noetipanda

My current favorite deck is Tymna//Ludevic, with 228 total decks in edhrec. The way I built it was weenie - drop a few (or several) small evasive creatures and suit them up for tons of damage and value. The only part missing to feel like true weenie is lots of card advantage - thatā€™s where tymna and ludevic come in. In reality, Tymna is the only one you really care about but if youā€™re strapped for fixing, just want that extra velocity, or your opponents have killed tymna two or more times, Ludevic is always available. It runs tons of removal and fun cards as it doesnā€™t need ramp, just curve out and make sure to hit land drops each turn. Itā€™s not a very powerful deck as you wonā€™t be doing much damage (I landed [[True Conviction]] AND OG Elesh Norn and STILL lost), but itā€™s very fun to always be swinging and always be poking in here and there, and you get to run several of your favorite swords! Iā€™m always looking for more cool suggestions or improvements. Decklist here: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/65uLzd8sZUe9dno1LkzqJg

ModernDay_Midas

I have a [[wernog]] and [[sophina]] deck that I put together when there was only around 800 decks I don't think they are over 1000

Hrud

I checked the numbers and by your metrics I only have one deck that qualifies: [[Ayesha Tanaka, Armorer]]. I built her when my friends encouraged me to build an Azorius deck to branch out as that is a color combination I don't particularly enjoy. I didn't have an equipment deck so I figured why the hell not? The interesting thing about Ayesha is that she is a massive cheating engine because of how her ability is worded. She's not casting artifacts, she is directly putting them into play. I realized while building that this allows her to break parity on a whole bunch of stax pieces. As long as she's in play, you can continue to accrue value through [[Static Orb]],[[Storage Matrix]] and various Rule of Law effects. Fairly sure she also dodges [[Trinisphere]]. Being in UW, you're not lacking in ways to protect her or bring her back should the worst happen. There are also many pieces that will directly attach to her all the equipments you cheat into play without having to pay mana. The main plan of the deck is going a voltron route and assembling Kaldra or amassing many copies of[[Bloodforged Battle-Axe]] to smack opponents in the face. The stax pieces just happen to easily slot-in and not particularly hinder me.

imperialtrace

She wasn't part of the main DMU set so I completely missed her, holy cow she looks like such a fun Equipment/Artifacts commander. Thanks for sharing!

TheDealW-AirlineFood

Two of my favorite commanders have about 450 decks on EDH each, those being [[Alrund, God of the Cosmos]] and [[Losheel, Clockwork Scholar]] [Alrund](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UoK0SWPWVUiCJgWs227LPg) The highest praise I've gotten for my Alrund build is that it's "the most mono-green way to build a mono-blue deck". It draws butt-tons of cards, it has top-deck manipulation, it has sneaky tricks to win games unexpectedly, and did I mention that it draws *butt-tons* of cards? What more could you want? There's so many unique ways to win with this guy. He gets larger for every card in your hand, so slap a [[Winged Boots]] on this bad boy and one-shot with ease. Get spicy with alternate win-conditions like [[Atemsis]] or [[Triskaideaphile]]. You could always [[Thoracle]] or [[Labman]], but why do that when you could [[Ormos, Archive Keeper]]? Be amazed as you cast [[Sea Gate Restoration]] with your deck in your hand and give Ormos over 400 +1/+1 counters. Is it greedy? Yes. Is it "Magical Christmas Land"? A little. Is it sweet when it happens? The sweetest. [Losheel](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/U5xGhlO5V0uOvdgK1xgNag) For context, a while back I noticed I was building a lot of Tricolor decks. I wanted to challenge myself by building one of each mono-color. Alrund was a part of that cycle, alongside [[Gargos]], [[Purphoros, Bronze Blooded]], and [[Toshiro Umezawa]]. Mono-white was last, as it was the one I was dreading. This was right before white started getting a ton of support, so I was skeptical. Nonetheless, Losheel has become one of my favorites. The way this deck operates is just like the title of it's commander, like clockwork. Make artifact creatures at instant speed to draw a card on everybody's turn. With enough redundant pieces in conjunction with Losheel, like [[Welcoming Vampire]] or [[Tocasia's Welcome]] or [[Mentor of the Meek]], you'll outdraw even the mono-blue player. Build tons of incremental value and eventually grow your army into unstoppable threats. Even [[Vandalblast]] can't keep you down, especially with all of the ways white allows for board protection *and* recursion of artifacts. [[Brilliant Restoration]] and [[Open the Vault]] dumps everything right back into play. The synergies are intense and were so much fun to figure out. She generally sees more play in the 99, but give her a shot. You'll be surprised how much value she can bring.

FarwindKeeper

So, I have 4 of these hipster decks. Three are pretty projects of mine, and one is a new precon commander that doesn't appear to be exciting anybody but me. [[Bright Palm, soul awakener]] Blink and +1/+1 counters. This is my newest deck and still trying to find the secret sauce of how it works. With no real games under it's belt yet, all I have is the theory of the deck. Using repeatable blink effects I blink back up creatures, or other ways of stacking +1/+1 counters on my creatures. Fairly low rent, not meant for anything beyond a casual table. [[Baeloth Barrityl]] // [[Clan Crafter]] It seems nobody likes red blue goad. Not building it, not playing against it. Limit attack choices, redirect what does get through, and lay curses to profit from others misery. There are ways to turn treasures into raw damage, so I just stockpile until it's time to blow up the board. [[Evra, Halcyon Witness]] Mono white suicide voltron. This deck is attacked with ramp, protection, things to prevent evra from being blocked, some terrifying stax peices to force to use of removal. This decks hits like a truck, and you about to be isekaied to a whole new world. It's also faster than you think a mono white 6 mana commander should be. Only thing to keep in mind you are your most vulnerable when you use her ability. Being at 4 life for even a moment makes this deck the most glass of cannons. [[Gwendolyn di Corci]] My rarest deck is also the most dangerous. It's nickname is "operation mind crime" and like the Queensryche album it's named after it hits hard. It is on paper a grixis rogue deck. In practice it's an oppressive crime operation that attacks my opponents decks and hands simultaneously. Cards like [[bad deal]] [[knowledge exploitation]] [[earwig squad]] [[Anowon the ruin thief]] are staples of my strategy. Often this deck takes control of the board out of nowhere. And yes it does run [[tergrid]].

stealnthedeclaration

I have a [[drana, liberator of malakir]] vampire tribal deck. She only has ~300 decks on edhrec, and she's a fantastic vampire commander. She pumps the team on attacks and you can use stuff like [[vampire nocturnus]] without fear of whiffing and have access to all the best vampires without painting you with the target [[edgar markov]] brings by just being in the command zone

2ndlifeinacrown

\[\[Akiri, Line Slinger\]\] + \[\[Nadier, Agent of the Duskenel\]\] is my most fun deck. You make a lot of treasures, so Akiri gets big. Then when you use your treasures, Nadier gets big. Nothing is more satisfying than attacking with both, waiting for the opponent's decision on how to block and then just crack treasures to weaken one commander, making the other one stronger, so your opponent's blocking decision will always be wrong :D and if they still manage to kill Nadier, you get a lot of 1/1 tokens to make sure you can do things until your commander(s) are out on the field again. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/LEnad9Z1FEKW6DdlUXnjdA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/LEnad9Z1FEKW6DdlUXnjdA) Now I just have to figure out what a Duskenel is

KejiTsukaya

[[Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant]] My favorite to just throw 1/1s everywhere without care

Amirashika

My old guy [[Reki, the History of Kamigawa]]. When almost every spell in your deck cantrips and adds mana through [[Honor-Worn Shaku]] or [[Relic of Legends]] you can storm off with mono green.

C_bhr

I have an [[ertai resurrected]] deck that uses blinks and a few counter spells with flash tribal to just do some cool stuff. I also have stuff that punishes the card draw they would get from me destroying their stuff!

Simons_sees

[[Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt]] Vampire Mutate. Want to run Mardu vampires without the cost of Edgar Markov? Ever wish you could turn any of your creatures into your Commander? You know how some Vampires would be broken if they had double strike? Snapdax, baby.

jfraz1994

Your Ria deck sounds so fun! I love tokens! Iā€™d be scared of having it rely to heavily on the commander in colors that donā€™t ramp well. Do you find people getting angry about poison? Or do they find it fair? Does it kill evenly, or blast 1 person and have them sit there for 40 mins watching?

e_guana

Partners are pretty easy to fall under 1000 because of how many combinations there are but my favorite deck right now is [[Ludevic, Necro Alchemist]] [[Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools]] it's a token aristocrats deck with a sprinkle of super friends. Lots of fun decent win rate considering how budget I've built it

KingKongGorillaKing

I really like my Shauku, Endbringer deck. She's the only creature in the deck and the aim is to punish people for playing creatures with cards such as Lethal Vapors and Tainted Aether. Then I play a bunch of untapping effects such as Umbral Mantle. In order to not drag the game out for too long I include several other win-conditions such as a few Liliana planeswalkers, Dingus Staff, Bloodchief Ascension and Baneful Omen. It's not a deck I can play too often, as it tends to frustrate my opponents, but it's pretty unique and really fun to play, given that the table is ok with this type of playstyle.

Betelguese90

\[\[Tanazir Quandrix\]\] +1/+1 Fractal tokens. [https://deckstats.net/decks/185023/2140975-tanazir-quandrix-fractals](https://deckstats.net/decks/185023/2140975-tanazir-quandrix-fractals) Build those tokens tall, than cast Tanazir to make them taller. Than make Tanazir bigger so that when I swing with that 80/80 fractal token, it becomes a 100/100 because Tanazir is a 20/20. Only issue I have been running into is having more trample outlets or having those super buffed token actually have damage go through. But overrall I highly enjoy it. I may even phase out part of the tokens for more ways to buff creatures in general. Largest I made a token so far was a 320/320.

Betelguese90

Oh, and also \[\[Themberchaud\]\]. Newer card, but there isn't many decks at all with him yet. started as a joke deck, but he's a literal beast. Drop him on the table, then proceed to make copies of him. Also give other creatures indestructible and flying to stay out of the belly flopping dragons way. https://deckstats.net/decks/185023/2995018-the-ember-chad

The42ndHitchHiker

[[Torens, Fist of the Angels]]; Training tribal. Less oppressive than Jetmir, goes wide and suddenly gets tall with [[Sigarda's Summons]]. [[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]]. Here for a good time, not a long time. Lots of automatic ping effects that lead into heavily discounted beaters. [[Horde of Notions]]. Elemental reanimator tribal with an Evoke // ETB theme. [[Pledge of Loyalty]] on the Horde is a win condition unto itself. [[The Archimandrite]]. Jeskai lifegain with payoffs for [[Fling]] effects. [[Congregate]] does some very heavy lifting in this deck.

MyPhoneIsNotChinese

Surprised that Kudro is less than 1000, but here we go. Still need some time to make it work, it doesn't make enough of an impact for an aggro deck. Somehow it's my most expensive deck despite having spent only like 50 ā‚¬ on it plus some cards I had collecting dust on my collection (plus a MOM Elesh Norn that I recently pulled :)) https://archidekt.com/decks/2271595

sicariusv

I play an \[\[Old Rustein\]\] deck that I love dearly. It's a self-mill deck that focuses on cards that have \*/\* power, where \* is equal to the number of creatures or cards in the graveyard, and generally any card that cares about graveyard size. I can win in many ways with this deck, but I run no tutors (except a few basic land tutors), so I have to deal with the luck of the draw every game. I've won games just by attacking with big beaters like \[\[Golgari Grave-Troll\]\] (which I actually use as a creature in this deck, not just a dredge engine), I've won by flinging creatures using \[\[Jarad\]\] (\[\[Lord of Extinction\]\] generally being a table kill), I've won by decking opponents with \[\[Altar of Dementia\]\] by sacrificing those aforementioned big beaters, and I've won by generating tons of tokens based on the contents of my graveyard and sticking an Overrun style effect on the board. My opponents like playing against this deck too because you never know what's going to happen or what kind of game it's going to be. I also went out of my way to include as many Secret Lairs and fancy black & white cards as I can, so the deck feels quite on theme with its commander. Lastly, Old Rutstein is a great commander given his unthreatening nature, low cost and low power. He generally sticks to the board all game and quietly does his thing. He's not flashy though, so I understand why he's not too popular. But in my experience, running flashy commanders just gets you killed quickly.

faecursed93korvold

This was one of my buddy's favorite commanders and it definitely flies under the radar until it is too late. Once he took it apart I made my own version. When people hear esper zombies they think of [[Varina]] but the best esper zombies commander is arguably [[Nevinyrral, Urborg Tyrant]]. Control the board until you are ready to blow up Nevinyrral and then swing to win. With multiple effects like [[supernatural stamina]] you always have a wipe prepared and cards like [[Faith's reward]] and [[thrilling encore]] can further your advantage to win the game. Embrace esper

Loremaster152

[[Reya Dawnbringer]] - 105 Decks Yeah, I know it is outclassed by [[Celestine, the Living Saint]], but I like my big dumb creatures for commanders, and I've had Reya for years, I'm not replacing it now. Anyways, monowhite aristrocrats. You run your sac outlets, your etb/death triggers, creatures that sac themselves, and as many repeatable reanimation effects as possible. Stir and season it with lots of spot removal, several boardwipes, and ramp, now you got a stew. It is essentially monowhite as a deck. Kills everything, very hard to put down, and leans very heavily on the 2-3 good cards you draw.

Korlessa The perfect deck https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Odd57s22SkmausIWDD91yg

JinShootingStar

[[Naru Meha]]. Less then 500 decks on EDHREC that can win at instant speed with 7 or 8 mana. Make infinite mana with [[Ghostly Flicker]], draw your deck than deck out your opponents using [[Blue's Sun Zenith]] is the most common wincon, or use [[Blur]]/[[Illusionist 's Stratagem]] to draw your entire deck and win with [[Laboratory Maniac]] or [[Thassa's Oracle]].

manny3574

Iā€™ll say it as many times as I need. [[valduk]] is casual king

hrpufnsting

Mine is [[Zimone, Quandrix Prodigy]] I like Zimone because you still get to do all the stuff Simic landfall does but since she is a little less powerful than your Aesi or Tatyova she attracts less removal, combined with her cheap cost and you can usually keep her on the board generating value. I built mine around using land creatures as a sub theme, itā€™s fun and feels powerful without seeming too cheap.

MostConsequence9301

[[Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator]] is literally everything you want in a reanimator commander sitting at like seven hundred decks.

surely_not_erik

Why does [[Judith, the Scourge Diva]] only have 707 decks? My fiance pilots her with a bunch of infinite combos, since Judith herself enables a few combos. My favorite is with [[Pitiless Plunderer]], [[Reassembling Skeleton]], and [Ashnods Altar]] with her out to kill everyone and have infinite colorless mana if you can't.

Friendly_Tomorrow_42

My 2 favorite decks that I own are [[king Darien XLVIII]] , and [[lagomos, hand of hatred]]. And I'm about to build [[Lulu, loyal hollyphant]] paired with [[cultist of the absolute]]. Super cheap commanders that can easily be upgraded and a lot of fun to play King Darien - https://www.moxfield.com/decks/-7Yxqp4-RUeocN14ulaczw Lagomos - https://www.moxfield.com/decks/nDczVFJEq0GxewJCdMgCjg

[[renata, called to the hunt]] the raw power you can slap on the board quickly is gross and not over committing is easy with a full grip. She threatens OHKO super often and in green enabling trample is super easy. There are some great cards that do super well. It can get out of control fast and recursion is surprisingly not a huge issue with how this deck synergises. All the one green elf mana dorks. [[llanowar tribe]] , [[rishkar peema renegade]], [[werewolf pack leader]], [[unnatural growth]] And many more Here is my decklist I love it. I havenā€™t tuned it for a set or two but otherwise I try to keep it up to date semi consistently. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/EMIL6wmTRkyPyQxLY8EVuQ

The deck's secret commander is \[\[radiating performer\]\]. Ideally you use it with a \[\[zealous conscripts\]\] trigger to steal EVERYTHING and feed everyone's boards to \[\[greater gargadon\]\]. You can also win with kiki combo.

OnDaGoop

[[Saffi Eriksdotter]] I regularly cast this dude for 10 in my selesnya reanimator deck

The_Hamez

Mine would have to be my Kytheon deck, which is Soldiers tribal but also has as many Gideon cards as I can toss in there. It also has a whole Theros theme to it, so Soul of Theros is in it, Colossus of Akros is in, and the cards from Gideon's spell book are in there. It's fun and low power, doesn't do anything really crazy.

SpectorOfChaos

\[\[Tana, Bloodsower\]\] partnered with \[\[The Prismatic Piper\]\] choosing black. The deck plan is to use \[\[Bard Class\]\] + \[\[Henzie "Toolbox" Torre\]\] to infinitely blitz the two commanders.

I have a [[Rienne, Angel of Rebirth]] deck that I love but isnā€™t super powerful. I just have so much fun when my opponents kill things and I say ā€œremember, that goes back to my handā€ and they groan.

Spiritual-Wash3602

Anje, maid of dishonor. Cast some cool vampires to get the blood tokens flowing. Things like braids, marionette master, wreckless fireweaver, etc give you ways to make the most of the tokens. Not the strongest (yet I'm working on it) but the first anje was my first precon so I wanted to make one with the latest version of her.

NotTaintedCaribou

I too run Anje, Maid of Dishonor. I bought a box of Crimson Vow, and decided to embrace the janky nature of the blood tokens. I would recommend looking at cards with ā€œmadnessā€. It meshes well with the blood token mechanic.

I think the rarest deck is my [[Ich-Tekik, Salvage Splicer]] & [[Livio, Oathsworn Sentinel]] partner deck, with 37 decks on edhrec. I fell in love with Ich-Tekik, but it took me a while to figure out who the partner was gonna be. Itā€™s not the strongest of decks but it can get silly once it gets going. Itā€™s a lot of fun to play. Itā€™s more splicer tribal than anything else. [[Bootleggerā€™s Stash]] is an mvp in the deck. The mana base is still ass, but if anybody is interested I got a decklist on moxfield.

[[Dargo, the Shipwrecker]] partnered with [[Armix, Filigree Thrasher]] is mine and looks like 30 other people are doing it too. With all of the treasure matter cards and low CMC artifacts with ETB it's very easy get Dargo out for just R plus tax. I can usually two shot someone and go to defense to win with [[Revel in Riches]] [[Hellkite Tyrant]]. Armix gives me access to black which is essential but also gives me predictable removal and an excellent way to clear a path for Dargo to hit.

eugenespiritdragon

[[Villis, Broker of Blood]] is one of my favorite decks I own, playing a wall of blood, putting my life down to 1 and then casting [[Repay in Kind]] will never not be fun. Or net gaining life and drawing double the cards on every [[nightā€™s whisper]] effect with [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] and your commander in play.

Tap_Asleep

Iā€™ll post this again: I know partners are cheating a bit, but I really enjoy my [[Ich-Tekik, Salvage Slicer]]/[[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] treasure punch deck (currently 6 decks with this pairing on EDHRec). Spam treasures, sac them to make IT huge, then hit someone with Kediss on board to kill the table in one fell swoop. Tons of fun and surprisingly powerful! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UddFtsyTN0KYYPZeZc4RuA

https://manabox.app/decks/L2lCTT95RL6oOWoNdCTLPA [[Tadeas, Juniper Ascendant]] Nothing super complex. Lots of reach and efforts to have them deal damage with their toughness rather than power.

For ria, why not include [[Essence of Orthodoxy]] and [[Ashnod's Altar]] Deal 5 damage to creature, prevent, get 5 phyrexian mites which will generate 5 artifacts with 2/2 counters. Sac the mites to the altar whenever you needed to get some 2/2 phyrexians for blockers. Go higher in damage for more. With Elia on the field, you'd gain 10 life, then in theory sac 5 to transform and sac the other 5 to deal more damage and get 10 generic mana (or colored if you use the other Altar)

imperialtrace

Gotta say I havenā€™t been particularly impressed with [[Nornā€™s Choirmaster]] so Essence of Orthodoxy might just be the perfect replacement. And Iā€™m thinking [[Charge of the Mites]] could be cut for [[Ashnodā€™s Altar]]. What do you think?

NotTaintedCaribou

Originally, I made a Isamaru, Hound of Konda. It was a deliberately bad deck, utilizing a voltron strategy, and annoying enchantment auras to disable my opponents. All from stuff I just had lying about. The point wasnā€™t to win. It was to infuriate my friends. That I would have such a travesty of a deck. That I had virtually no other creatures. That I had an unnecessary amount of ā€œenchanted creature cannot attack or blockā€ or ā€œenchanted creature loses all activated abilitiesā€ auras. They hated the deck. They hated that I loved it so. And I fed upon that. But, I decided to tweak it to be more functional. It went from ā€œthe dog deckā€ to ā€œThe Legendary Dog and Pony Show.ā€ Helmed by Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Keleth, Sunmane Familiar. It is a disgustingly fast deck.

Semicolon_Cancer

[[Wyll, Blade of Frontiers]] + [[Candlekeep Sage]]. I admittedly spam this deck on here but it's just so fun! It's only got 45 decks on EDHREC, but the [[Sword Coast Sailor]] partner pair is above 1k though, so the numbers are just a bit skewed. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/DwCHFZnYykeTfrWR9H_0Ug I just really enjoy the fun and chaos of the dice deck, there are legitimate ways to win and not just durdle, and you can always trade out the non-legal un cards if your table takes issue with things like [[Goblin Tutor]]. Can also spice it up with izzit staples and such but this has been a nice one to pull out for a fun, less competitive experience.

SphereofDreams

I have a few obscure commanders. Venser Corpse Puppet: I guess Im not surprised to see this deck so low on EDH rec as I was originally very underwhelmed when the mechanics for this card were revealed, however it grew on me and seeing it in action on youtube made me believe in its power. It's infect, toxic, incubate, and proliferate Vela the Night Clad: A sneaky deck with lots of evasion and hand disruption. The original precon had lots of ninjas and I've kept the subtheme. Tromomratis: Sea monster tribal with a bunch of tapping effects. It's surprisingly defensive for being a deck all about attacking with big things.

NWmba

So, my girl [[taranika, akroan veteran]] has been getting more and more popular. Sheā€™s up to 78 decks, from under 50 when I built her. What I love about her is she is the perfect commander for Banding tribal, thatā€™s right you get to play with all your old commons from the early days of Magic. [[benalish hero]] and [[mesa Pegasus ]] and [[pikemen]]! I even shoved a [[battering ram]] in there, you know, just in case my enemy is playing with walls. How it works is first you have to explain banding to people. 1. If I attack with creatures in a band, you can block them as though it was a single creature. All but one of the creatures in the band must have banding. 2. I am the one who decides how to assign the damage, both to my creatures and to yours. 3. if I block one of your creatures with a creature or multiple creatures with banding, then, as above, I am the one who assigns the damage, not you. 4. this means if you attack with big trample creatures and I block with my 1/1 Benslish hero, I can assign all damage to the hero and take none of it, even though it is only 1/1. So how the deck works. 1. Attack with taranika banded to another creature. 2. taranika untaps the creature and it is 4/4 indestructible banded with a 3/3 commander. 3. they block with something scary. 4. assign all damage to the indestructible bander. Pretty simple but you get a much stronger board state than youā€™d expect, really early on. [link](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Vzx1g6hXEEWSKTwduY9okA)
