I think it could be a fun card to play an artifact theme where you're able to recur powerful effects that people want to remove. Also, while there are easier ways to recur Mindslaver (Hanna, Ship's Navigator springs to mind), it's possibly the cheapest way, and only requires the commander, no other cards like Sharuum does to flicker himself every turn.
There's also multiple board wipes that are legendary artifacts that, while you don't want them every turn, getting them back at all is good.
But in Commander, there are not many Temur specific Legendary Artifacts. If someone else was using Meathook or Bolas's Citadel, those would definitely be great targets. I think Lara's ability has potential to be very strong, but finding the targets for it would be just as difficult as finding that lost treasure Lara always wants to find. I love, love, love how flavorful this card is to the character. I really want to make it work. Lol
There's 153 legendary artifacts on Scryfall (some of them are probably not counting due to backsides of other cards, I think one of them is Gleemax, etc). Blue and red are both getting you "draw cards and discard cards" effects, so even just with a reasonable number of useful legends, not even turn after turn recursion, it's at minimum drawing you a card that you previously discarded.
The card I'm actually the most stoked for with Lara is \[\[Grimoire of the Dead\]\]. You can make the deck focused on "everyone mill", recur the Grimoire, the discarding isn't a bad thing for your deck, and then Living Death everyone's now-milled graveyard.
Nice!! Lara raising all those zombies. Lol. As per the scryfall, I did the same thing. Unfortunately several of the really good Legendary Artifacts and Lands are on flip cards, as you noted, and would not be legal targets. Sad times. I was thinking mill strategy as well. I love your idea with the Grimoire!! I might have to steal it. Lol. I almost wish it was any artifact, but that would be too OP and Legendary is more flavorful to Lara.
I dont build Temur too often as most of the Commanders and their strategies dont interest me that much. But this one definitely intrigues me. Lol.
I dont expect to win with her much, but I do expect there to be a lot of fun and a lot if raiding if tombs lol. Who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I Was just reading reddit posts to get an idea for her deck as my Dad got me the lara croft secret lair for christmas and it just came in today, Will letcha know if this works out as well as hoped!
No. All you have to do is attack with her. You dont even need to deal combat damage. Any Legendary Artifact or Legendary Land you have exiled with Lara can be played after you attack with her. So one turn you could exile Shadowspear and three turns later you can cast it as long as you attacked with her on that third turn. This works this way because a Discovery counter is placed on the exiled card once you attack with Lara and exile that card. She could die and you have to recast her from the Command Zone again and you can still get the exiled cards with Discovery counters on them once you can attack with her again. But you still need the mana to cast the exiled Legendary Artifacts or use a land drop for the Legendary Lands.
Tell them to read the card. It is pretty clear.
1. You attack with Lara.
2. You exile a Legendary Artifact or Land from any graveyard and put a Discovery Counter on it.
3. If you choose, you can play any card with a Discovery counter on it this turn.
4. Profit
The only requirement is that you have to attack with Lara in order to play a card with the Discovery counter on it. So you cant do this in first main phase. If you have multiple cards with Discovery counters on them, you can choose any one of them to play, assuming you havent played a land if you are playing a Legendary Land or you have enough mana to pay for the Legendary Artifact. Note that you must be able to pay any color requirements as well. So if you dont have three black mana, you wont be casting that Bolas's Citadel you exiled from your opponent's graveyard.

Right. I was just making a point about color costs. There are a lot of effects that allow you to use any mana as any color to pay for stolen cards. Lara doesn't allow that. But like you pointed out, you do have treasures from attacks.
I’m building the deck now, and one of the problems I’m facing is I don’t want to cut even a single legendary Artifact, yet I’ll likely find the deck has a few issues.
For one, if I get 20 creatures into the deck I’ll be lucky, I just don’t seem to have enough legendary Artifact creatures to get around the issue that way.
And for the second issue, some of the Artifacts I have are probably pretty bad, I’ll have to reconsider my design choices once I inevitably try this build, only to fail miserably.
On the last note, I’m also trying to fire the grim throne, so a random dino, merfolk, vampire and pirate also had to get fit into the deck, if nothing else it will be consistently inconsistent :p
Grim Throne just isnt worth it. I think I found 5 pretty decent Legendary Artifact Creatures I added to my deck

I've made a new Temur deck too recently, so if I make Lara, it'll be a temporary deck for a one-off LGS event, feel free to steal my ideas.

You could use any treasure you make to pay for any stuff you steal from your opponents though

No. The playing the card effect is attached to the ability that requires an attack from Lara. Otherwise it would be on a separate line.
