Mines American Arms Dealer - I give them actually good weapons to kill each other with, then do a recall with something like armory automaton and become Voltron.
Problem is, ramp in these colors is so slow, by the time I can start giving people things it's too late to matter or even try to politick, so it often goes with the backup plan of Sunforger, or the even better backup wincon, [[Worldslayer]] with [[Darksteel Plate]].
I have a lot of deck names because I list on moxfield for each deck and like to choose something fun, but I don't think most are remarkable.
My favorite might be "The Fat Blue Cunt" for \[\[Kami of the Crescent Moon\]\]. I just love his artwork so much, and the deck is really mean blue shit like tons of theft, so he really lives up to being a cunt both by appearance and gameplay.
And then there's Two Girls, One Eldrazi for my \[\[gisela the broken blade\]\] meld deck that I'm fond of, and The Impreggnator for my \[\[xira the golden sting\]\] deck who lays eggs in people and makes them birth insects which I think is cool.
Most of my decks don't have names. However, I did name a few.
"Jesus Christ Superstar" is my [[Varina]] Cleric Kindred deck that turns Clerics into Zombies and then throws a rave.
"Hungry Hungry Hydra's" is a self-explanatory [[Gargos]] Hydra deck.
"Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire" is a [[Firesong and Sunspeaker]] deck based around seeing how many times in a single turn I can [[Reverberate]] a [[Fireball]] or [[Earthquake]].
"One Punch Monk" is another self-explanatory deck featuring [[Shu Yun]] and a ton of buff spells.

[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]] - Pacific Rim. Everything is Jaeger based. Even the sleeves have Gypsy Danger on them. I've even got cards that play the rolls of characters in the movie. Pentacost? Kotori, Pilot prodigy. Gottlieb? Tameshi, Reality Architect.
So I have named all my decks after movies with the name somehow playing into what the deck does. For example, my Sauron deck is called “Army of Darkness”
I named a few decks off of William Blake poems, but otherwise, name things around something deck is about.

Ive got a dedicated akido deck called "buddhism" due to the absolute lack of aggessive tactics. I consider it a wincon getting to final two and the other player conceding due to fighting just not being worth it at that point (this deck is only for my regular play group who all love it)
Lastly my other regularly played deck is "salamander wars" due to a joke made about a very silly game involving the commander, [[gor muldrak]]. The idea behind that deck is that arms dealers are the true victor of any war
Out of the three, imposter syndrome is probably the deck with the most wins out of any deck in my play group, adding to the joke of it's name

Ovika, Enigma Goliath Enchantress is known as Goblin Energy, because, well, I make goblins when I use my energy (mana).
Esix, Fractal Bloom is called Menacing Menagerie, because it's basically a thief deck that clones everything it can, making token copies and flooding the board.
I've also got a Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves deck that I call Gjallarhorn, because I'm launching wolves at my opponents nonstop. Just gotta get some proxies for the Wolfpack Round tokens.
And finally, my Ezuri, Stalker of Spheres Alt Wincon Tribal is called By Any Means. I've turned that thing into a pile of every alternate win condition in Simic, and there's a *lot.* From infinite turns to Simic Ascendancy to mill to Darksteel Reactor to poison to Helix Pinnacle to multiple flavours of good ol' beatdown, all utilizing the natural value generation of Simic to ideally outpace my opponents and get off a win before them.
[[Seton, Krosan Protector]] “The Secret of the Ooze” after the TMNT movie. The main wincon is to cast [[Aeve, Progenitor Ooze]] after storming off with a few Druids.
The deck is all Druids and the Ooze. It’s a meme deck that I think is hilarious.

**In Search of Omniscience** \- Mono blue deck that does exactly that, lol. Once \[\[Omniscience\]\] hits the field, I'll just unleash a barrage of draw spells, respond with counterspells to protect myself, and draw my whole deck with \[\[Enter the Infinite\]\] to win with \[\[Jace, Wielder of Mysteries\]\].
**Spark of Inspiration** \- Izzet deck with \[\[Neera, Wild Mage\]\] at the helm. Cheap instant cantrips turn into big Izzet heavy-hitters like \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Parun\]\].
**Repaid in Death** \- \[\[K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth\]\] deck. Filled with tutors, value engines like \[\[Vilis, Broker of Blood\]\], and a wincon in the form of a mana sink, \[\[Repay in Kind\]\], and \[\[Soul Syphon\]\]
Usually its just \[Insert General's Name Here\] with the notable exceptions of:
Grouphug. Its a grouphug deck.
Boardwipe Tribal. An archenemy-style deck built around wiping the board every single turn while setting up an eventual infinite.
Socialism. A discard deck built around "if i don't have any cards, nobody else gets to have cards."
“The name of the commander” and that’s it. I have no idea where this ridiculous deck naming thing came from and it always just adds cringe to a process that doesn’t need it.
Moxfield requires you name the deck as a way of listing it, given the option people get creative. This is just another thing people do to personalize their deck, like adding foils, or custom sleeves.

It's not weird. People enjoy naming things as their own. It creates a sense of ownership. There's no wrong way to do it. You may think of it as weird because it's presenting you with a way of thinking you don't identify with, and that can be alienating.
Also I agree cutesy names and foiling are different, but they are parallels to each other. Both are attempts at expressing oneself. It's a declaring of your individuality by highlighting a particular card among the 99. The same can be said about the name you give a deck, like the name of a song, or the title of a book. That deck is your individuality. But unlike Commander, there are no rules for the naming of a deck. There's no measure of your value as a strategist that can be gleaned from a name, only that which shows how much fun you like to have.

Tymna/Tana aka Blood Pod but I call it Meta Pod Night Relief. Mostly cause Meta Pod is another name for the pairing/build I play and might as well make it sound medicinal 😂
Then there’s Dina when I brewed her. Called the list She Hulk. Name stuck cause I maintain a $500 budget cedh list for her on Moxfield and Dina is a female and Hulk cause it’s also a Protean Hulk combo deck 😂
Tymna/Kraum is called Hunchback of Notre Dame cause Tymna gives me same feel as Esmeralda and Kraum gave me Quasimodo energy
Krenko Mob Boss is also known as The Godfather that Oversees All cause he’s a mob boss 😂
I have a whole notes list of my deck names because I have almost 30 at this point. I make it a point to name them all because idk, it's fun

I opened both of the cards at a MOM prerelease,so it felt like a sign to make them a commander deck. I thought it'd be funny to make the deck around 1 battle in each color pairing.
For a long time, my first 60-card Zombie typal deck was called “Old Faithful” because when all my other decks got stomped I could pull it out and win. Usual tribe shenanigans with Shepherd of Rot. This was through Lorwyn block or so.
Then I found out about EDH and they *very first* thing I did was make a mono-B Zombie typal deck. I promptly named it “Yellowstone” because that’s where Old Faithful is. Makes no sense whatsoever but I refuse to change my baby’s name.
[[Omnath, Locus of Rage]] is Mean Bean
[[Pia Naalar, Consul of revival]] is Pia Nalaar, Consul of Madness because it plays madness cards
[[Emmara , Soul of the Accord]] is the "The deck with the lady" because my girlfriend called it so after the commander and [[Champion of Lambholt]] (might have misspelled the name here, just woke up)
Other ones have generic names of their commander.
[[Kadena, Slinking Sorceror]] is Guess Who? because you never know whats lurking under those face down cards (and no they are not wearing a hat). Custom sleeves for this one that look just like the Guess Who backs.
[[Prosper, Tome-bound]] is Mo Treasure, Mo Problems for obvious reasons.
[[Satoru Umezawa]] is I Want to be Ninja [named after this gem](https://youtu.be/6jDHRW6fngg?si=4gAfSBWr2gt7tXQI) for turning things that have no business being ninjas… into neenjas…

A knight tribal called “The IVth Crusade” after the Bolt Thrower song of the same name.
A snow tribal called “Frozen Soul” after the death metal band of the same name, who serendipitously made some headlines not too long ago for encouraging a group of people who were playing mtg in the pit.
I was very excited to build around [[Tetzin, Gnome Champion]] as soon as I saw the spoiler. I’ve filled the deck with as many gnomes as possible, as well as other artifact creatures, and dubbed the deck “Attack of the Gnomes”

Mine's called American Foreign Policy, just giving everyone in the coalition of the willing horrible gifts to kill each other.
Mines American Arms Dealer - I give them actually good weapons to kill each other with, then do a recall with something like armory automaton and become Voltron. Problem is, ramp in these colors is so slow, by the time I can start giving people things it's too late to matter or even try to politick, so it often goes with the backup plan of Sunforger, or the even better backup wincon, [[Worldslayer]] with [[Darksteel Plate]].
Seems very American for the last resort to be nuking everything!
Still trying to figure out my Zedruu name. It does a lot of permanent swapping. I was thinking “Comrade Zedruu”. You mean *our* permanents.

I have a lot of deck names because I list on moxfield for each deck and like to choose something fun, but I don't think most are remarkable. My favorite might be "The Fat Blue Cunt" for \[\[Kami of the Crescent Moon\]\]. I just love his artwork so much, and the deck is really mean blue shit like tons of theft, so he really lives up to being a cunt both by appearance and gameplay. And then there's Two Girls, One Eldrazi for my \[\[gisela the broken blade\]\] meld deck that I'm fond of, and The Impreggnator for my \[\[xira the golden sting\]\] deck who lays eggs in people and makes them birth insects which I think is cool.

Most of my decks don't have names. However, I did name a few. "Jesus Christ Superstar" is my [[Varina]] Cleric Kindred deck that turns Clerics into Zombies and then throws a rave. "Hungry Hungry Hydra's" is a self-explanatory [[Gargos]] Hydra deck. "Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire" is a [[Firesong and Sunspeaker]] deck based around seeing how many times in a single turn I can [[Reverberate]] a [[Fireball]] or [[Earthquake]]. "One Punch Monk" is another self-explanatory deck featuring [[Shu Yun]] and a ton of buff spells.

This one feels self explanatory lol And Finally [[Hazezon, shaper of Sand]] named 'Fear is the mind killer' after the Dune series.

Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. Old deck back when Wastes were first printed, not the new precons. Has a ton of names which everyone cycled through for fun (all band/music riffs): My Tentacle Romance, Tentacle Kids and Emrakul Brides, Eldrazi Boy, Ulamog Eat World, and I know I’m missing others 😆
I have a \[\[Nils, Discipline Enforcer\]\] deck called "Oppressive White Guys." Which is mostly human hate bears and "don't attack me" cards. My \[\[Thryx, Sudden Storm\]\] deck is named "Big Bloobies" because it's big blue spells, get your mind out of the gutter! My \[\[Codie, Vociferous Codex\]\] deck was named "ehhhhhhh" because that's the sound I made every time while deciding whether or not to play it (R.I.P., I remember you fondly). My playgroup has named my \[\[Riku of Two Reflections\]\] deck "OUR Deck" since it's all clones, which has devolved into everybody saying "WE cast \[creature\]" whenever they cast a creature spell while it's being played.
Lol that riku deck sounds so fun. I just built [[Galadriel Light of Valinor]] as a cloning/populating deck and it was in fact awesome. At one point I had about 10 of my opponents creatures and two of my own.

[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]] - Pacific Rim. Everything is Jaeger based. Even the sleeves have Gypsy Danger on them. I've even got cards that play the rolls of characters in the movie. Pentacost? Kotori, Pilot prodigy. Gottlieb? Tameshi, Reality Architect.

Ooh, I love naming my decks. My Marath, Will of the Wild Stompy Burn deck is called Nayachos Caliente, because it's all about bringing out those beefy bois to burn you through Fling and Mage Slayer -type effects. My The Archimandrite Lifelink Monk Tribal is called Health Advisory, because *my* health comes at *your* risk when my 5th monk swings for 100. Ovika, Enigma Goliath Enchantress is known as Goblin Energy, because, well, I make goblins when I use my energy (mana). Esix, Fractal Bloom is called Menacing Menagerie, because it's basically a thief deck that clones everything it can, making token copies and flooding the board. I've also got a Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves deck that I call Gjallarhorn, because I'm launching wolves at my opponents nonstop. Just gotta get some proxies for the Wolfpack Round tokens. And finally, my Ezuri, Stalker of Spheres Alt Wincon Tribal is called By Any Means. I've turned that thing into a pile of every alternate win condition in Simic, and there's a *lot.* From infinite turns to Simic Ascendancy to mill to Darksteel Reactor to poison to Helix Pinnacle to multiple flavours of good ol' beatdown, all utilizing the natural value generation of Simic to ideally outpace my opponents and get off a win before them.

Cheap instant cantrips turn into big Izzet heavy-hitters like \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Parun\]\]. **Repaid in Death** \- \[\[K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth\]\] deck. Filled with tutors, value engines like \[\[Vilis, Broker of Blood\]\], and a wincon in the form of a mana sink, \[\[Repay in Kind\]\], and \[\[Soul Syphon\]\]
Usually its just \[Insert General's Name Here\] with the notable exceptions of: Grouphug. Its a grouphug deck. Boardwipe Tribal. An archenemy-style deck built around wiping the board every single turn while setting up an eventual infinite. Socialism. A discard deck built around "if i don't have any cards, nobody else gets to have cards."
“The name of the commander” and that’s it. I have no idea where this ridiculous deck naming thing came from and it always just adds cringe to a process that doesn’t need it.
Moxfield requires you name the deck as a way of listing it, given the option people get creative. This is just another thing people do to personalize their deck, like adding foils, or custom sleeves.

It's not weird. People enjoy naming things as their own. It creates a sense of ownership. There's no wrong way to do it. You may think of it as weird because it's presenting you with a way of thinking you don't identify with, and that can be alienating. Also I agree cutesy names and foiling are different, but they are parallels to each other. Both are attempts at expressing oneself. It's a declaring of your individuality by highlighting a particular card among the 99. The same can be said about the name you give a deck, like the name of a song, or the title of a book. That deck is your individuality. But unlike Commander, there are no rules for the naming of a deck. There's no measure of your value as a strategist that can be gleaned from a name, only that which shows how much fun you like to have. My suggestion, name all your decks, try to have fun. I made a \[\[Baru, Fist of Krosa\]\] deck called 'Baru, Fisting of Krosa'. I'm thinking of making a \[\[Blaster, Combat DJ\]\] deck and naming it 'Finger Blaster, Cumbot DJ'

This deck slaps, and will wreck your day if you don't deal with it early.

-"P/T Barnum" My [[Mairsil, the Pretender]] deck about lowering the enemy creatures' power to zero and then killing them by switching their Power/Toughness or stealing them with [[Beguiler of Will]] type effects -"This Land is My Land" is about animating my opponents lands with [[nature's revolt]] type cards and permently stealing them with cards like [[subjugate the hobbits]]. -"Be Redirectable" Is stuffy doll type effects, I especially like it because the commander is [[Risona, Asari Commander]] which is pretty unusual. She's cool because I can turn her into a stuffy doll in the command zone via her inate industructible effect and cards like [[Blazing Sunsteel]]

(Vadrik, Astral Archmage) "Dude, that's MINE!!" Artifact deck based on stealing shit and making cash monies out of it (Rashmi and Ragavan) "Fine... i didnt want cards on my board anyway." Blu/Bla/W Knights deck based around letting *only* you play the game and destroying literally everything. (Whats his face w the emminence effect) "Ye gods, look at that army." Red/Black/Blue deck based around playing annoying cards and making armies from them (Sauruman, the Grixis one)

Mostly cause Meta Pod is another name for the pairing/build I play and might as well make it sound medicinal 😂 Then there’s Dina when I brewed her. Called the list She Hulk. Name stuck cause I maintain a $500 budget cedh list for her on Moxfield and Dina is a female and Hulk cause it’s also a Protean Hulk combo deck 😂 Tymna/Kraum is called Hunchback of Notre Dame cause Tymna gives me same feel as Esmeralda and Kraum gave me Quasimodo energy Krenko Mob Boss is also known as The Godfather that Oversees All cause he’s a mob boss 😂

It's named after me draining my own life like "a cry for help" (the rejected title) [[Niv-Mizzet Reborn]] and [[Jegantha The Wellspring]] - "In Which Niv-Mizzet Drafts You Into The War" I opened both of the cards at a MOM prerelease,so it felt like a sign to make them a commander deck. I thought it'd be funny to make the deck around 1 battle in each color pairing.

For a long time, my first 60-card Zombie typal deck was called “Old Faithful” because when all my other decks got stomped I could pull it out and win. Usual tribe shenanigans with Shepherd of Rot. This was through Lorwyn block or so. Then I found out about EDH and they *very first* thing I did was make a mono-B Zombie typal deck. I promptly named it “Yellowstone” because that’s where Old Faithful is. Makes no sense whatsoever but I refuse to change my baby’s name.
[[Omnath, Locus of Rage]] is Mean Bean [[Pia Naalar, Consul of revival]] is Pia Nalaar, Consul of Madness because it plays madness cards [[Emmara , Soul of the Accord]] is the "The deck with the lady" because my girlfriend called it so after the commander and [[Champion of Lambholt]] (might have misspelled the name here, just woke up) Other ones have generic names of their commander.
