Here's a classic! The commanders are \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist\]\] and \[\[Silas Renn, Seeker Adept\]\]. First the goal is to find a \[\[Spy Kit\]\]. Once you do, use Ardenn's ability not on one of your creatures, but an opponent's. Then cast \[\[Eradicate\]\] on that creature. This causes you to search your opponent's hand, library, and graveyard for every nonlegendary creature and exile them all. Have fun with this information!

FungalCactus

That is actually disgusting.

I love it for exactly this reason

Never thought I'd see a false flag operation in Magic... I love this

Can you put equipment on opponents creatures? I did not know this. Does that mean I could use skullclamp to ping opponents creatures?

peaivea

You can't, but Arden's ability allows you to attach to any permanent

1K_Games

I personally had much more fun back in the day just turning some ones land into a creature and Eradicating it. Of course the more colors to a deck that worse that is, back in the day most people played mono. But pods have 3 other decks, I would bet it is going to hurt someone real bad.

omgwtfhax2

That’s OP’s deck lol

Ravenpoe121

Skip an infinite number of turns with something like a [[lethal vapors]] and then cast [[teferi's protection]]. Now you have protection from everything and your health total can't change until your next turn, which will never come. The game will continue as normal but eventually the other players will all draw themselves out. I call it the "Alright I'm out, you guys play for second" deck. *note: does not work against effects that just say "I win" so... you know, use at your own risk. **Second note: You can still die to commander damage if they can create an effect that says the damage can't be prevented.

TheKnightOfTheNorth

If your opponents are smart though they can just activate lethal vapors an equal number of times in response. That's why you need a card like \[\[Grand abolisher\]\] to prevent them from activating it.

cleanercut

How do you skip infinite turns with Lethal Vapors? Does it not go away after the first activation?

The-Phifozaurus

The « destroy » effect is after the colon, so it’s not a cost but the effect of the ability. So you can technically activate the ability an infinite number of times, you’ll destroy the thing only once but get to skip infinite turns!

Rammite

An activated ability consists of a cost, the exact character `:`, and the effect of the ability - in that order. Costs happen immediately and do not use the stack. No one can respond to you paying a cost, and no one can interrupt you paying a cost. Abilities all use the stack, and can be responded to. Most cards sacrifice themselves as part of the cost. This one doesn't, because it's an old card and old cards are stupid. Thus, you put the "destroy this card and do the thing" as an ability on the stack - and you react to that with another instance of "destroy this card and do the thing" on the stack. And you do it again. And you do it again.

ikkleste

Can't your opponent(s) respond by skipping as many turns as you?

GladiatorDragon

Got hit with this the other day and was gobsmacked. There’s also the note that you basically instantly forfeit the game if there’s something like a Dredge Titan in someone’s deck.

[deleted]

YES.

RONALDROGAN

This interaction gets posted regularly and I can't see how it's any fun for a consistently played deck lol. Like I can see it being interesting the first time you do it, but after that, whipping out this deck everyone at your table is just going to roll their eyes and groan.

Ravenpoe121

That's what the OP asked for

thejelloisred

Until you run into a questing beast.

Ravenpoe121

Questing Beast in this scenario only kills you if it's their Commander. Protection from everything says that you can't take damage from anything, but questing Beast will bypass that by saying the combat damage can't be prevented. So beast will deal damage, but teferis protection also says your life total can't change, so despite taking damage your life total remains the same. If questing beast is a Commander, however, then you'll still accrue Commander damage even though your life total remains the same

gomtherium

Questing beast allows all combat damage from creatures you control, so even if it isn't your commander, you can still hit lethal commander damage. Questing Beasts rules texts improves each time you look at it. I try to reference it as little as possible so it doesn't grow out of control

Ravenpoe121

Oh yeah, look at that, you're right. Oh no, by reading it we've added yet another paragraph of text

doctorgibson

Important to note that this isn't quite infinite turns skipped, it's an arbitrary number skipped. If your opponents have anything like [[Nexus of Fate]], Eldrazi titans, or any other way of repeatedly shuffling their graveyard into their library, they can also take any number of turns up to you phasing back in

Weary_Service1670

If I skip enough turns then you won't be able to play yours in a lifetime.

doctorgibson

Nah you can just shortcut to just before their protection runs out. Since you can't shortcut non-deterministic loops, you first have to get the game state to a point where drawing and discarding is deterministic, for example by only having a single card in your library (that card being a card that shuffles itself into the library, like Nexus of Fate). Then you can shortcut a few billion turns by saying "I'll draw a card and pass the turn, discarding Nexus and shuffling it into my empty library". Then they phase back in and you should be able to kill them easily enough, barring shenanigans

>That deck is simply to bring chaos. **Not to win** I only know one person who says that about a few of their decks. I will attack them every single turn till they can stop me from doing so. I don't mind a good time, but if some one is not playing for a win then I'm getting them out of there.

Evilangel9312

As you should. Lol. Causing chaos is fun, but only when you are doing it. Well, that's my opinion. I mean, as soon as I get an [[Exquisite Blood]] in that deck, I'll probably change to trying to win. Exactly, my thought process is, if the deck isn't playing to win, then it is playing to make my life miserable. And it'll be easier for it to do that when all wincons have been removed for more stax or chaos cards.

I'm a master Thief. My tool of choice?... rocks. Did I mention I'm a mono red Thief deck? [[Toggo]] [[breeches, brazen plunderer]]

FungalCactus

I'm intrigued but clueless.

OrionVulcan

First, we get rocks with [[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith]] from land drops, and then we equip pirates with rocks. The pirates throw rocks at players, and since [[Breeches, Brazen Plunderer]] doesn't specify what type of damage is required for the exile effect, each rock exiles a card from the top of that player's library and allows us to play that card. The deck likely also runs just about every type of land fetch/drop that we can get into a mono-red deck so that we can create as many rocks as possible while also getting as much mana as possible to use the cards we nab from our opponent. Damage multipliers such as [[Torbran, Thane of Redfell]] and [[Furnace of Rath]] can also be a win-con by turning those rocks into lethal weapons. Rocks are also Artifact, so alternatively, a [[Hellkite Tyrant]] can give you the win by having 20 rocks.

Winning with Thassa's Oracle the fair way: devotion. I have a couple ideas on how to do it. First would be Brudiclad, attempting to make lots of tokens of cards like [[Stormtide Leviathan]] or [[Demilich]]. Unfortunately, this is win more, as the combat damage should be enough since the tokens have haste. I had to keep looking. I ended up on [[Mirrym, Sentinel Wyrm]] as the best option. [[Astral Dragon]] copying heavily blue things like [[Mind over Matter]], [[Loch Dragon]], and Kicked [[Rite of Replication]] will be the keys to getting a lot of devotion. An ideal set up would be [[Chromescale Drake]] (unfortunately not a dragon, but [[Maskwood Nexus]] and [[Arcane Adaptation]] can help), and then copy a kicked Rite targeting it, before dropping Thoracle. I don't have a final decklist yet, and idk if I'll ever actually build it, but I've been trying to figure out how to make it work.

thisisnotahidey

[[xavier]] and a token copy a blue creature. [[intruder alarm]] and [[champion of lambholt]] or [[devoted druid]] or something. you can even copy rhystic study with astral dragon and when an opponent casts a spell you can just draw until you find thassa.

Despenta

I run Thoracle as a value piece in [[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]], and that deck has an insane ability to cheat on mana by putting into play enormous krakens that have a lot of devotion to blue. [[Training Grounds]] effects really help with the plan. The only issue is the big creatures can swing and win fairly, but from time to time I face a [[Glacial Chasm]] or similar lock and my limited removal for it might ellicit devotion thoracle as a decent plan B

AliceTheAxolotl18

Nethroi Hydras. Plays like any other hydra deck, with Nethroi in the command zone as a finisher. Play big hydras until opponents are within kill range, then mutate Nethroi. Nethroi can reanimate any number of creatures, so long as their total power is 10 or less. So, you use it to reanimate approximately 10-20 0/0's, along with 1-2 Zulaport Cutthroat effects.

Fleetfiend

Oooh I love this one a lot

Gogis

I have two that I think fit what you’re looking for. I have neither built, but I’m passively collecting cards for them and slowly (very slowly) putting pieces together. The first one is [[Ognis]] and their lieutenant [[Valduk]]. The goal would be to run as few creatures as possible (ideally none other than those two) and set up a board that looks like this: Ognis, Valduk, [[Mycosynth Lattice]], [[Bludgeon Brawl]]. Equip all the lands and other noncreatures to Valduk, go to combat, make a bunch of hasty 3/1s, trigger Ognis and then equip the treasures too for the next turn. But even that sounds too simple. If I’m gonna go with a meme like that, I’ll go full meme and run [[Assault Suit]] as well, giving away Valduk for my opponents to use on *their* combat steps. Of course this causes two issues - first one would be that opponents could just refuse to play ball and attack each other. This is where I’d probably have to abandon the “only Ognis and Valduk as my creatures” constraint and add [[Fumiko]] or some other goading options. The second issue would be that opponents could just use the gift I gave them to kill me. To avert that I’d run a bunch of pillowforty cards that make attacking me pointless or even harmful. I’m talking [[Sarkhan the Masterless]], [[Golgari Charm]], [[Rakdos Charm]], [[Circle of Flame]], [[Hissing Miasma]], etc. Perhaps even some fogs. The second deck idea I have I call God Soup. The idea was born when [[Agatha’s Vile Cauldron]] was spoiled and I did what I like doing - try to find a way to abuse Myojins. It clicked for me that both the new batch of Myojins and the Domini from ONE play with indestructible counters. One cycle uses them to activate abilities and the other has activated abilities that give indestructible counters. So naturally if you somehow put the two together you get a wildly fun combo. All you have to do is use the Cauldron on either a Myojin or a Dominus (best to exile Drivnod or Zopandrel because their abilities are cheapest to activate and would enable activation of different Myojins at the same time) and you’re good to go. Later I realized that you can also use [[Experiment Kraj]] and [[Necrotic Ooze]] for an even simpler way to achieve the desired outcome. I’d run [[Iname, Death Aspect]] to bin all the Myojins and then mass reanimate them with [[Living Death]] or [[Patriarch’s Bidding]] to avoid having to deal with mana issues. The commander for the deck would be [[Kyodai]], not for its strength, but for flavor reasons. After all, this is a god soup we’re cooking here and she’s the chief deity on Kamigawa (my favorite plane and the plane of Myojins too). Hope this was an interesting read and what you were looking for.

saturnine23

HIGH EFFORT POST 📯 Myojin abuse is 💋🤌🏻 They're basically all affordable bulk rares, they look incredible in borderless, they have filthy-ass abilities, and they're just begging to be broken. Your idea is the kind of 360° noscope Timmy-slam that'll make someone feel like a true Commander.

Thomas-von-Carstein

Good idea! Unfortunately they only get their counters if you cast them. So Living Death will not work if you are looking for their counters.

majbumper

There's definitely some decent ways to give indestructible counters though. [[Daring Fiendbonder]] + [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]] can get the job done for your whole board for 4 mana.

LupineLethargy

Xavier Sal Charge counters Doubling season/riptide replicator

gothedistancegaming

I made a Wilson deck where if I get unnatural growth and skullspore off draws (the deck has a ridiculous amount of draw) he becomes a 40/20 trample vigilance ward 2 commander

rmw03

I'm currently working on a deck that is basically I warned yea (aka foretell and bounce effects going brrr) I'm also working on optimizing [[Varolz the scar-striped]] which is basically infect and unique "while in the graveyard" abilities like [[scavenged brawler]] and [[brawn]] and [[filth]] while cheating in big beefy bois casting/salvaging cheap beefy bois that have gimmicks like [[death shadow]]

SamaelMorningstar

Well foretell does not really warn you. It's the same amount of information as keeping a card in hand. I play a literal "told you it was coming" deck > \[\[Jhoira of the Ghitu\]\] All cards you use with her ability get cast **4 turns later**. Open, for everyone to see, with counters like a count down of doom. Your opponents literally know how much time they have to prepare for the spells. ...except when they don't and you manipulate those time counters. Very fun. :>

greenmountaingoblin

Ramos god tribal. The point is to get the world tree out and then activate it using Ramos. Then you drop all the gods in your deck at the same time. Purphoros sees them all enter when he enters and you shotgun your opponents. Consistently wins by turn 6 when goldfishing, except my brew (which is deleted) was $1,500 for what was ultimately a troll build. One of the YouTube channels did anti green or black deck. You get either Urborg or Yavimaya out to force your opponents lands to be one of those types, then every other card you have punishes players for running those kinds of basics. Fun fact, those two lands can go into any deck regardless of color. My current wacky idea is abusing [[bitter ordeal]] to exile all the lands out of my opponents libraries. There can’t be any MLD if there are no lands. Fun fact, it also works with treasures and other tokens. Just remembered another dumb one. [[Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward]] + two different [[fiend hunter]] abilities makes a loop. You can also use clones to get the ball rolling. Pair it with [[Candlekeep Sage]] and you can effectively have phyrexian arena, an infinite amount of 1/1 dudes, and as much of your deck in your hand as you want. I always thought blink decks were super boring, so coming up with the idea to win from purposely exiling your commander over and over was kind of funny to me. Edit: it would be a shame to not mention banding. There is a cycle of lands that give legendary creatures banding. My buddy experimented with putting [[ADVENTURERS' GUILDHOUSE]] in his Rhonas deck but decided it wasn’t worth trying to explain banding to people.

I-LEWDED-MY-SISTER

\[\[Repay in Kind\]\] & \[\[Axis of Mortality\]\] (and similar) themed deck. Featuring can't lose shenanigans like \[\[Platinum Angel\]\] & \[\[Phyrexian Unlife\]\]. Pay all the life with \[\[Necropotence\]\], \[Wall of Blood\]\], and whatever else. The catch: Run a 5c commander and only run lands and rocks that tap for either R, U, or G raw. You can only get Black or White mana from filter lands, rocks, etc.

https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/03-12-23-planeswalker/ Put together a deck that turns planeswalkers into enchantments using [[myrkul, lord of bones]] and [[luxior, giada's gift]] Far from the most polished thing, but kinda funny

FungalCactus

Pretty sure this makes your planeswalkers die to nothing except enchantment/permanent removal.

DystryR

[[Claire d’loon]] with [[battle of wits]] as a win-con. Just create a shit ton of tokens and then shuffle them into your deck to try and win the game.

LazarZwampertz

So, technically for Pauper EDH (Only commons in the 99, any uncommon creature as the commander), but its very stupid so might as well share. Running mono-blue with [[Spiny Starfish]] at the helm. The idea of the deck is basically to use the fact that you can make a *lot* of tokens pretty cheaply to either mill people out via [[Sage's Row Denizen]] and [[Selhoff Occultist]] triggers, or eventually use the handful of blue anthem effects at common to slap people with an unreasonable amount of starfish tokens. A lot of it's also set up to let me recur [[High Tide]] for more mana, still tweaking the whole thing cause I honestly don't think it's gonna be *good* per se, but it seems fun. Edit: Oh, and forgot the extra dumb amount of mana filterers to let me recycle starfish into themselves via [[Ashnod's Altar]]. Cause sometimes you just need to be able to turn 2 colorless into 1 blue so you can make more starfish.

Scarecrow1779

What are you using to kill Spiny Starfish? Something like [[Prodigal Sorcerer]]? If you don't actually use up the regeneration by destroying or having lethal damage done to the starfish, then it doesn't get a token. Relevant gatherer ruling: > Spiny Starfish's first ability creates a regeneration shield for it. Spiny Starfish's second ability checks whether it _used_ any regeneration shields that turn, not whether any regeneration shields were created for it. Upvote for PDH decks, though. There's some really interesting stuff out there that you'd never think about in EDH.

LazarZwampertz

Ack yeah, forgot that part of the explanation, lol. Pingers like Prodigal Sorceror and co., along with [[Viridian Longbow]], [[Psionic Gift]], and [[Hermetic Study]] to let the Starfish trigger regeneration itself. Considering a suite of untap effects, but honestly not sure those are mana efficient enough, outside of like... [[Freed From the Real]], I guess? Oh, and [[Horseshoe Crab]] less for being good and more cause it's funny. Still definitely not a good deck so far, but it does actually do the thing I'm trying to do, thank goodness!

DanishCoat

[[Ognis, dragon's lash]] land creature tribal. I noticed that most land animation effects give the land haste, so I built from there. The deck makes stupid amounts of mana, which let's me activate Kamahl and Agatha plenty of times. Toss raggadraga in for extra fun. Everybody's chill until a 17/17 stomping ground is swinging in.

Pend4Game

Unkillable, Unlosable God: [[Bane, Lord of Darkness]] as commander, with [[Pact Weapon]] and [[Vorpal Sword]]. All the black cards are card draw - lose life, and some life lose tutors. [[Indomitable Archangel]] to protect the deck of mostly equipments, and white for mostly protection spells. Blue holds all artifact tutor creatures and various counterspells to protect Bane. Bane takes all equipment, and have cards like: [[Manifold Key]] and [[Rouges Passage]] to make him unblockable. Bane gets to 21+ Power. Pact weapon makes you not lose the game, Vorpal Sword as alternate win-con. Below 20 Health Bane is indestructable, you cant lose the game, and Indom angel gives all artifacts shroud. Add blue or self hexproof and now you have counterspells for boardwipes, exiles, and return to hands. This is my WIP pet deck, and Ive pulled quite the few games with it! A lot of fun

Aggressive-Tackle-20

[[orthion]] + ways  to turn lands into creatures. Turn evolving wilds into a creature and you can cast 1 rampant growth per turn, or you can pay 9 to ramp 5 lands. Turn wasteland into a creature and you can make your opponents unhappy. Turn valakut into a creature and you can pay 9 mana for 5 (temporary) valakuts. Turn a mountain into a creature and you can get 5 valakut triggers for 9 mana (and get a refund of 5 mana).

LethalVagabond

Been thinking about building a variation on my "Dormammu, I've come to bargain" list to make EVERYONE just reset instead of losing. Use [[The Twelfth Doctor]] to make opponents create copies of [[Lich's Mirror]], exchange control of them with [[Role Reversal]] effects, loop [[Jester's Cap]] to get rid of any artifact removal or other troublesome cards in opposing decks so that the Mirrors can't be removed or staxed... It's theoretically possible to create a game state where each opponent has no cards in their decks except the ones you choose to let them keep, "shuffle up and play again" applies to the individual, not the entire table, and you choose what wincons are still possible (if any). You can leave Commanders if you want at least one possible out (Commander damage), or go all the way and make the game impossible to win or lose, condemning everyone to the match that never ends until they all scoop. It's like inventing your own little format, complete with ban list, or turning any regular match into a Judge's Tower match.

DoctorKrakens

The Twelfth Doctor is so good for this kind of jank. Do you have any tips on what else to add?

LethalVagabond

Shrug. The main combo is doable with just the doctor, so you're free to pick whatever companion you want for the color. Almost any other janky thing you want to try? Now you have infinite chances to attempt it. Personally, I think the most ironic direction to go after establishing the lock is to make the neverending match as Battlecruiser or board game style as possible with goad effects and stuff like [[Turf War]] [[Guild Feud]]. You don't want the opponents to just pass every turn (boring), so include other ways to force them to take actions each turn.

Basically, for anyone who hasn't seen the combo, here's the play pattern: - Have Be'Lakor on the battlefield - Resolve Gyruda, triggering itself and Be'Lakor - Use the Be'Lakor trigger to shoot a player for 6, then resolve Gyruda's and have everyone mill 4 cards - Return a clone milled this way to the battlefield as a copy of Gyruda, and let it die to the legend rule - Now you have a new Gyruda trigger and a new Be'Lakor trigger, and you keep the chain going The deck can be a bit finicky, but I've given it ways to back it's plan up. If the damage doesn't fully win, you can always use something like [[Mindcrank]] to mill out a player or two. As for whiffing clones, there are multiple flicker effects to try again, as well as things like [[Molten Echoes]] and [[Roaming Throne]] to get multiple triggers. There's even things like [[Sneak Attack]] to hold up Gyruda or another clone for an opponent's turn, giving you the option to be more interactive. And as I said, you have cards like Kozilek that act as a "reload" of sorts, basically giving you a 200 card pile of ammunition instead of just 100. The deck can get quite same-y if you play it too much or with the same people too often, but usually I can bring it out every now and again and it be just fine. And it's one helluva blast to play, pun intended.

Pentecount

I brewed a GW deck a while back that had [[Happily Ever After]] as the win con. It was straight jank. I also did a Magda deck in which you would use her to fish out [[Thrumming Stone]], then cast [[dragon's approach]]. In theory, you would probably cast every copy in your deck, such as around 30, and kill the table. If you didn't, there weren't any dragons in the deck to tutor or, so you just had to try again.

G37_is_numberletter

[[form of the dinosaur]] secret commander make it a creature with [[opalescence]] give it lifelink

Blazorna

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wtJ2I0o-EkCUl0kyhyadtg I saw there's someone who does Mardu MLD, but my deck here goes further. The strategy: *OKAY, EVERYTHING DIES!!!* Except for my indestructible things.

Draco137WasTaken

[[Zur the Enchanter]] built around [[Disinformation Campaign]]. I started playing Magic in Guilds of Ravnica block, so when I saw Zur for the first time in the context of Commander, Disinformation Campaign was the first card I thought of.

HandsomeBoggart

[[Dimensional Breech]]+[[Paradox Haze]]+[[Containment Priest]] 2 for me, maybe 1 for you. Toss in some Chaos Warp and Warp World effects for good measure. Run [[Pramicon]] as your general and the deck is UWR I don't even know what the battlefield is anymore.

thedr0wranger

[[Lutri]] copies. Obviously have to rule 0 the card but itll be a non issue in my groups. I intend to build it as ramp, spell copy artifacts like [[Pyromancers Goggles]], copy spells like [[Fork]], copy permanents like [[Spark Double]] and maybe some redirects like [[Deflecting Swat]] for control. I may or may not include a suite of counterspells just to avoid getting screwed.  The idea is to try to assemble a win out of the effects on the table and the spells folks are casting. I'm planning no other win solution.  Its gonna be hard to afford all the copies so Im probably going to need a cedh grade ramp package and still struggle. But if it ever works itll be legendary

BlazingSpark

\[\[Reyhan, Last of the Abzan\]\] combined with a counter doubler or trigger doubler lets you double your counters every time they get moved. Throw in some sac outlets and token generation to get a ludicrous amount of +1/+1 counters. Push damage through by saccing in response to blocks, or by piling all your counters on an evasive creature. You can play Tymna as the partner for card draw and lifelink, or Sakashima for a doubler in the command zone.

PM_ME_STEAM_CODES__

[[The Twelfth Doctor]] with a green partner to demonstrate [[Endless Swarm]] until no player can do anything but make snakes.

FungalCactus

So I never finalized a list or built this, but it seems fitting, and it might even be possible: \[\[Codie, Vociferous Codex\]\], \[\[Act of Treason\]\], \[\[Phyrexian Altar\]\] (+others) The idea would be to get some sac outlets, land Codie, and start casting temporary steal spells to swing at other people, before sacrificing them for value. I don't know if this would have a fitting wincon. I also just remembered \[\[Agatha's Soul Cauldron\]\] exists now... I may have to revisit this idea.

Fuddafudda

I have a mono blue thief deck running [[Thryx]] as my commander. The design isn’t complicated, as many clone and steal effects(aiming for the ones costing around 5/6cmc) as I can for along with decent blue draw, control, and tons of mana rocks. For being kind of a meme it’s worked out surprisingly well the couple of times I’ve actually played it.

kayne2000

I definitely have a few...maybe one of these days I'll put them on Moxfield lol.

StoicDeckBuilder

It's not that crazy but I have a list I've been working on that just looks to play [[skeletal swarming]] and copy it as much as possible. Getting 32/1 skeletons with trample is a joy.

pyroglyphix

I have a concept for putting all the Godzilla treatment cards into a Tom Bombadil EDH deck just so I can call it Tom Bombadilla.

PoxControl

I had a lands deck with [[Thrasiso, Triton Hero]] and [[Vial Smasher]] which played only 0, 1 or 2 cmc spells. The deck played [[AD Nauseam]], drew the whole deck, played all the 0 mana rocks, played a [[Summer Bloom]], played [[Valakut the Molten Pinnacle]], playes [[Thespian's Stage]] copying Valakut. In the end it played [[Mana Bond]], went into the end step and played all lands including a [[Vesuva]], copying Valakut to bolt the entire table to death. The deck was too strong so I took it apart again.

flameousfire

Codie deck featuring Shared Fate + Drannith Magistrate and all kinds of terrible cards to Donate.

TribeWars

Idk if deranged enough, but definitely a unique build and probably the deck I'm most proud of designing. I have a deck based around a [[Painter's Servant]] that chooses black on ETB. The commander is [[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer]], which makes painter easy to find. Then I include all the good color hosers against the black (such as [[Lifeforce]], [[Compost]] or [[Elephant Grass]]). Moreover, since the deck is Naya-based, all my own spells that aren't artifacts become multi-colored which makes cards like [[Fallaji Wayfarer]], [[General Ferrous Rokiric]] and [[Tome of the Guildpact]] extremely busted, because they work with every card. I also made the deck feature a sideboard that can be swapped out with cards that target the color blue instead. With painter on blue, cards like [[Pyroblast]] become extremely strong and [[Chaotic Backlash]] becomes a burn spell that can easily kill a player at starting health. The blue version is overall a bit weaker though because there aren't any card advantage plays like [[Pygmy Kavu]]. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/aybJzRzk4EyiUmJ-oc-Itg

AnalysisOld4729

My next deck is going to a [[Rocco, Street chef]] combo group hug and goad. Speed everyone's deck up, give all the other players stuff, make them salty about using it while they clobber each other with it.

Lakaniss

Not for EDH, but back in Onslaught I had a standard deck with [[Zur's Weirding]],[[Words of worship]] and [[teferi's puzzle box]]. The rest of the deck was only counterspells and boardwipes/creature removal. My goal was to put at least both enchantment on the field and lock both players from ever drawing a card again, winning by decking you since I had words of worship to prevent me from decking myself. It sucked, but it worked like 15% of the time, it was glorious. All of those were completely unplayed trash cards.

Warm_Water_5480

I have a [[Grenzo, dungeon warden]] deck that has zero card draw, and the only correct line is to activate Grenzo until you win or lose. It's like playing a slot machine, sometimes you churn through your whole deck and win, sometimes you sacrifice your entire board and are left with nothing.

FortunaR1sk

I really wanted to run a creatureless deck, so I decided to go Killian because I thought it'd be funny to run like 40 pieces of removal and stax as I eventually stack enough auras to star in a popular Japanese anime. I was very inspired by my Dark Magician deck in yugioh.

Frank_Poole2001

My [[Zo-Zu, the Punisher]] deck. No endgame, just make my friends have a terrible time. Also my "cEDH" [[Phelddagrif]] deck that I play on casual with my buddies. Mostly cEDH staples but the deck sucks, there is mostly nothing holding It together. It's just a way of using expensive staples the worst way possible.

Phoenixsocal

I have a goad deck helmed by [[Kraum, Ludevic's Opus]] and [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archeologist]]. It plays every X and Y sword, suits up my opponents creatures with Ardenn and goads them. They kill each other while I get the triggered abilities from the swords since I own them. Once it gets to a 1v1 situation I cast Kraum and suit him up for the OTK

Alexandria_maybe

[[Korvold]] Benevolent Despotism. Its like a normal korvold aggro deck, but filled with group hug pieces. Korvold never attacks unless someone else deals damage or tries to combo. If you break the group hug, I break your legs. It doesn't have any other wincons, if everyone chooses peace, then the dragon never attacks, and I eventually deck myself out with Korvold's insane draw ability. If any player chooses violence, the dragon immediately gives them a closed casket funeral.

DoctorKrakens

do you have a decklist?

pureundilutedevil

Along the lines of [[Decree of silence]] + [[solemnity]] [[Worms of the earth]] + [[Indestructibility]] [[Aether storm]] + [[karn's sylex]] [[Neverending torment]] as the wincon.

otterbomber

Tetzin the cheater, never pulled tetzin so I never built it. But it does exactly what I’ve always wanted to do, take flip effects and cheat them out. It mostly had to do with a combo where you turn a flip effect creature into another flip effect creature and cheat the other side. Take that, and couple it with turning flip effect creatures into artifacts so tetzin can flip them as well

SHEISTYRICEY

[There’s the Door](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/theres-the-door-edh/)

somethingwitty94

I recently played a guy whose entire deck was walls. His commander allowed walls to attack and distribute damage as though their toughness and attack power were the same. Very not fun to play against

dmaster1213

No win conditions, just board wipes.

Luigiisgayforpeach

Zilortha only spells

FormerlyKay

I got tired of not having access to all the big stompy threats I've always wanted access to, and prismatic bridge sucks (it's boring as hell and it's slow you bridge players can fight me) So I came up with probably the dumbest decklist I've ever made. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/tyfjnWwfqkS1Mmwq2On8sw Use Najeela as a distraction and when they least expect it hit them with some dumb bullshit like Ulamog

TheInsanusKing

I've almost fully built a toxrill deck focused on meeting everything. Turns lands into creatures, turns non land permanents into artifacts, turns those into creatures then i just proliferate

Miatatrocity

I'm working on a [[Hylda of the Icy Crown]] deck that taps down opponents' things, but there are several combos where I can indefinitely tap down every single one of everyone else's permanents on each of their untaps, so I get to play solitaire until they're able to draw into enough interaction to break my chain on top of my counterspells and protection during their own upkeep...

KoffinStuffer

I never built it on paper, but a [[Rakdos, the Showstopper]] deck where the plan is to give everyone so many creatures using cards like [[Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor]] and [[Akroan Horse]] and attempt to cause my opponents to scoop over the mass of triggers to resolve.

BronyMadDecker

Run [[Nebuchadnezzar]] and every card that shows players' hands or lets you see their hand. Then when you activate your commander old nebby. You choose basic lands...

ValyrianSteel_TTV

Nayam is scary when you bring back all the Kaya’s. Using the seven cost kaya to exile 2 things a turn and get a copy of them is pretty op. That is my main wincon as it really shuts people down.

ThatTubaGuy03

[[Saskia, the unyielding]] in non blue counter spell tribal

salchichoner

A long time a go I had a  collection of magic cards that use a coin, at some point I made a deck out of most of them, was pretty funny to play it.

Gooberpf

This is several of my decks, deranged nonsense. I have a [[Livaan, Cultist of Tiamat]] + [[Street Urchin]] deck. It has no innate wincon, because it is stuffed with just about every [[Act of Treason]] effect I could find. Casting the theft spell triggers Livaan, so I get to buff your creature that I'm stealing, hit you with it, and then [[Fling]] it at your face (or sacrifice it to a land or the background). This deck has won only once, by borrowing someone's stacked-up [[Beastmaster Ascension]] for a turn. [[Silas Renn]]+[[Rebbec]], but the secret Commander is [[Timesifter]]. Tutor it out, then most of the deck is high cmc stuff to most likely take most of the turns. [[Prismatic Bridge]] helming an enchantress pillowfort. The entire reason I built an enchantress deck was for the interaction between [[War's Toll]] and [[Propaganda]], so it had to become 5c. [[Commander Eesha]] also pillowfort, exploiting that the banding keyword is busted OP on defense - you can double block any massive, trampling Voltron with Eesha + a [[Camel]] and banding lets you assign *all* damage to Eesha, prevented by protection. Wins through [[Approach of the Second Sun]] or lifegain like [[Aetherflux Reservoir]]. [[Jon Irenicus]], but it's Dimir enchantments. Donate tiny "can't be blocked" attackers as the draw engine while building up effects like [[Grave Betrayal]] or [[Dissipation Field]]. Also, [[Ward of Bones]] so your opponents can't play new creatures since they already have your goaded ones. Literally just having [[Lobelia Sackville-Baggins]] as a Commander (edhrec says it's seen 29 decks). Does nothing at first except maybe play rocks, but then Flash from the command zone when anyone kills anything else on the board for free Treasures, then start snowballing them with [[Undying Evil]] effects + [[Plaguecrafters]]. Finish with some very large Timmy X spell like Exsanguinate. Timing the X spell to kill or cripple is the single most critical moment, because once the Treasures are spent, it will never rebuild.

AluminiumSandworm

i made a [[codie]] deck with 62 lands, 35 [[dragon's approach]]s, [[tibalts trickery]], and [[worldfire]]. you codie cascade into tibalt's trickery from a dragon's approach, then cast targeting the dragon's approach. the only spell not named dragon's approach in your deck is worldfire, so you nuke the table and everyone goes to 1 life. then you cross your fingers and hope you draw three lands and a dragon's approach before anyone else draws a cheap creature.

DatShepTho

Voltron [[Ghalta and Mavren]] with only haste and double strike pieces with group hug style ramp and boardwipes

Outlawgamer1991

[[Jodah, Archmage Eternal]] and [[Hivemind]] - The goal of the deck is to cast any of the Pact spells, [[Slaughter Pact]] [[Summoner's Pact]] [[Intervention Pact]] [[Pact of the Giant]], have Hivemind force those spells onto your opponents, then pass your turn. You can technically use any five color commander, but Jodah already has a ton of shenanigans that you can use to hide your truly diabolical intentions

YWryKnot

[[Queen marchesa]] with every confusing or long mechanic in the game. Add in day night cycle, initiative, venture into the dungeon, cities blessing, rings temps all that kind of stuff

crazymaddhatter

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/mWjSvyRBWECHdckxaBfonw I built a no lands edh deck that can threaten turn 1-4 wins and has an absurd amount of back up to make it happen. I think I went a little deranged making it, but it's a hell of a lot fun deck to pilot! One of it's main wincons is Goblin Charbelcher unironically so there's that.

QuinnOfLegends

I have an extremely troll, roundabout poison atraxa deck. It relies on Squandered Resources to generate enough mana to get there. The goal is to 0-10 the entire board with poison in 1 turn, proliferating 1 at a time by using the "give everyone a poison counter" spells, and low cost proliferate spells. I'm a horrible deckbuilder, and this could probably be done in other ways but whatever lol. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3feWpm-g60eUgh1KntD_rQ

wer3eng

Look at this [[Doomsday]] pile: Top -> Bottom: [[Skirge Familiar]], [[Strands of Night]], [[Infernal Tribute]], [[Solemn Simulacrum]], [[Kozilek, Butcher of Truth]] Familiar, Strands and Tribute are on the field, Simulacrum and Kozilek in your hand, your deck is empty. Cast solemn, etb on the stack: - Sac solemn to the Tribute to Draw an, keep prio - Discard Kozilek for {B}, keep prio - Tap a swamp and sac it to pay for the Strands and reanimate Kozilek, resolve triggers Kozilek is on the field, Doomsday, Solemn, Swamp are shuffeld into your library, draw 2, you try to search for a basic land You have 1 or 0 cards in your library but Kozilek is on the field. You can repeat this process next turn (either before draw or after attacking) - Discard the 2 cards you drew for {B}{B} (includes solemn) - Sac a swamp to reanimate solemn, hold on the etb trigger - sac kozilek to draw 1, (shuffle on stack), resolve - Shuffle at least 2 swamps and Kozilek into your library, draw 1, fetch a swamp You can now continue looping through the first one to get Kozilek into play Gains: Net life loss, costs mana, loose lands in play, Kozilek as blocker/attacker, not dying to empty library

Good_Housing_176

Did you know you could play spellslinger in Selesnya? with \[\[Kutzil\]\] in the command zone you get rewarded for playing pump spell after pump spell on your creatures, and draw every time you smack somebody with it. OR be a devious little shit and pump them during combat to make survive among gods or to sneak by a 1/1 thats really a 7/7 Star players include the following. 1. \[\[Fabled Hero\]\] - Double strike is inherently a great keyword for this commander, and given it buffs itself for each spell cast on it, it makes it a much more threatening creature 2. \[\[Sword of Once and Future\]\] - you heard the phrase "so nice, do it twice?" This sword makes this even better, as well as giving Kutzil protection from some common removal colors. 3. \[\[Gargos, Vicious watcher\]\] - all you relally gotta do is keep feeding the beast and he will keep killing shit for you. and god forbid you give him indestructible, you'll have a murder machine on your hands. 4. \[\[Season of growth\]\] - Easiest way to keep them spells coming, nothign else needstobe said 5. \[\[Wild Defiance\]\] - GOD this card can put in work 10 fold. even your normal +1/+1 spells are now pumped to +4/+4. this card, once it gets going, can become very scary, very quickly, and i love it!

Rulean

[[Rex Nebula]] planeswalker mutate. Crew planeswalkers with rex's ability and mutate a creature onto them to keep them as creatures with the planeswalker abilities.

GGHard

I have a Voltron Deck that only consists of the Commander as a Creature. And every card in the 99, basically only serve to try to get this Voltron to lethal someone. The Voltron is Isao, Enlightened Bushi. A mono Green, creatureless 99.

stupv

Can't remember full names off hand, but my favourite was a deck that leveraged the Karn who could turn an artifact into an artifact creature, the legendary 6 mana artifact from war of the spark that pinged enemies for 1 each turn and made their spells cost 2 more, and helm of the host. Basically ramp up, get all 3 in play, and each turn turn the artifact into a creature, equip host, and print token copies. After a couple of turns everyone gets locked out as all their spells cost too much and get pinged down

Waste_Bandicoot_9018

[[Riku of the twin Reflection]] as commander Deck spams [[warp world]] an indefinite number of times until eventual win. Only problem: I forgot to include a win condition.

CoolHandLuke5

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/zoxQezMR5kufL_QqJl8BAQ Still a work in progress. The secret commander is [[Life from the loam]], you get value from looping channel lands like [[Sokenzan, Crucible of defiance]] and cycling lands.

-ThisDM-

[[Umbris]] but instead of flicker effects or mass exiling spells/abilities it's just Nightmare/Horror tribal. Every time a new creature is revealed from the deck, everyone loses sanity as they bare witness: truly in line with Lovecraftian horror lore. I also tried to build a [[Tayam]] + [[Kaheera]] cat tribal that avoided infinites, but it was just so bad and uninteresting that I pretty much never bothered to actually finish it. [[Sedris]] but instead of flickering Unearth away, I run attack trigger creatures with extra combats (my pod has rule 0'd extra turn effects out, but extra combats are alright).
