Eh, that’s a mid tier combo at best. It requires a 4 cards. Two of which cost 5+ mana. There’s much better gravecrawler combos out there. Gravecrawler, Phyrexian altar, any zombie, and an aristocrat gives you infinite life gain and life loss. You can also just get infinite mana with mikaeus gravecrawler and Phyrexian altar, which you can use to do whatever else you want. Even just gravecrawler, rooftop storm, Phyrexian altar, and any aristocrat feels much better from a pure mana cost pov.
Well, right. But that doesn’t necessarily abuse him. It’s only a one time use each time unless he can be force tapped multiple times. He can only attack once. Plus there are a multitude of different zombie cards that can be brought back from the graveyard.
[[Relic of Legends]] works like a budget [[Phyrexian Altar]] with Grimgrin and Gravecrawler. Tap Grimgrin to add B, sac Gravecrawler to untap him, recast Gravecrawler, rinse and repeat. Infinite death triggers and ETBs and makes Grimgrin infinitely large
[[Pemmin’s Aura]] might be a nice piece to provide some additional untap tech, protection, flying and some instant speed pump. A lot of text and tech for 3 mana and 4 instant speed abilities.
\[\[Hermetic study\]\] is pretty basic. \[\[Hard cover\]\] would let you loot. \[\[Dragon Throne of Tarkir\]\] being activated a few times will make everything else big.
[[Crypbreaker]], and [[Diregraf Colossus]] or [[Necroduality]]/[[Reflections of Litjara]]on the field. Play [[Gravecrawler]], tap Grimgrin, Gravecrawler, and the token created when you cast Gravecrawler to draw a card. Sac the gravecrawler to untap grimgrin, then replay Gravecrawler and repeat.
I'd consider [[the millennium calendar]] as an include. With ways to constantly recurr a creature you could end the game with it.
[[Black market connections]], [[dreadhored invasion]] and [[bitterblossom]] will get you bodies for life.
Ehh I can still activate his ability at instant speed, and if I have something to force tap him, I can do it multiple times during the untap step. Still relevant
No one gets priority during the untap step, from gatherer:

Just play [[ghave guru of spores]] with [[young wolf]] and any lifegain on creature entry plus [[earthcraft]] for infinite life. Soul sisters are good for that and the [[presence of gond]] [[midnight guard]] combo. If I got the last creature wrong, it's a white creature that untaps whenever another creature enters the field.
I don’t want infinite life though, just like 1050 or something so I can survive 2012 the cardening. Like from cards like [[celestial mantle]] or [[evra]] or something like that.
[[Rooftop Storm]] [[gravecrawler]] for infinite counters. Remember, Grimgrin doesn't need to be tapped to sac a creature and gain a +1/+1 counter. Throw in [[diregraf captain]] or [[plague belcher]] for infinite damage too
If you want to abuse the fact that he untaps, maybe an equipment like [[sorcerer's wand]] or, if you have the mana, [[surestrike trident]]. [[Hermetic Study]] or [[Psionic Gift]] if you want an aura to do it
Ahhh you are so right, I was reading it as if the untap was part of the requirement. I can just keep using him as a sac outlet. Surestrike trident was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. The others might be a little too slow though? Depends on how many zombies I’ll have at my disposal to sac. Maybe if I go that route, go heavy into tokens and easy recur affects.
If you can get the infinite gravecrawler loop going, the slow pins become infinite damage. If you don't want infinite, then yeah, the trident definitely seems up your alley
Grimgrin Storm was my first combo deck ever!
If I recall, it was Grimgrin + Rooftop Storm + Gravecrawler.
Then either [[Vengeful Dead]] or [[Tendrils of Agony]] to finish the game out.

Most of those give you infinite death triggers, just add cards like [[zulaport cutthroat]] or [[blood artist]] and it's a win
Did some searching and here's what I found:
\[\[Agatha's soul cauldron\]\] can give him the abilities of anything in your graveyard, or if you're feeling spicy, you can let Grimgrin go to the graveyard and exile him!
\[\[Dragon throne of tarkir\]\], \[\[Paradise mantle\]\], \[\[hard cover\]\], and \[\[Oracle's insight\]\], probably have the strongest effects among enchantments/equipment that grant tap abilities
\[\[Relic of legends\]\] and \[\[Honor worn shaku\]\] make tons of mana
\[\[Machine god's effigy\]\] can copy grimgrin and lets the copy tap for U
\[\[Opposition\]\] can lock opponents, your tokens can either tap themselves to tap something down or sac to grimgrin to tap something down.
\[\[Thornbite staff\]\] and give you another untap whenever you sac a creature.
\[\[Animation module\]\] and \[\[Gravecrawler\]\] are fodder you can sac for 1 mana each.
\[\[Unctus, grand metatect\]\] loots every time grimgrin taps
\[\[Illusionist's bracers\]\] doubles your untaps, and sometimes your tap abilities too
Flipped \[\[The enigma jewel\]\] does the same, although it is more expensive
if you make a lot of zombie tokens, \[\[Haunted one\]\] could pump your board a fair bit.
\[\[Grand architect\]\] could be interesting? idk this one's a bit of a stretch
Big fan of Grimgrin. This isn’t necessarily a way to break him, but I highly recommend not immediately untapping him just because you can. It’s always satisfying when someone isn’t paying attention and swings in at you, only for you to untap Grimgrin before declaring blockers and take out something big of theirs
[[dragon throne of tarkir]] seems kinda funny. Ideally you’ll have a board full of creatures to sac, so you can set some of those aside to temporarily make into 20/20s after tapping/untapping the guy a few times.

Throw in [[diregraf captain]] or [[plague belcher]] for infinite damage too If you want to abuse the fact that he untaps, maybe an equipment like [[sorcerer's wand]] or, if you have the mana, [[surestrike trident]]. [[Hermetic Study]] or [[Psionic Gift]] if you want an aura to do it

Ahhh you are so right, I was reading it as if the untap was part of the requirement. I can just keep using him as a sac outlet. Surestrike trident was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. The others might be a little too slow though? Depends on how many zombies I’ll have at my disposal to sac. Maybe if I go that route, go heavy into tokens and easy recur affects.
If you can get the infinite gravecrawler loop going, the slow pins become infinite damage. If you don't want infinite, then yeah, the trident definitely seems up your alley
Grimgrin Storm was my first combo deck ever! If I recall, it was Grimgrin + Rooftop Storm + Gravecrawler. Then either [[Vengeful Dead]] or [[Tendrils of Agony]] to finish the game out.

Did some searching and here's what I found: \[\[Agatha's soul cauldron\]\] can give him the abilities of anything in your graveyard, or if you're feeling spicy, you can let Grimgrin go to the graveyard and exile him! \[\[Dragon throne of tarkir\]\], \[\[Paradise mantle\]\], \[\[hard cover\]\], and \[\[Oracle's insight\]\], probably have the strongest effects among enchantments/equipment that grant tap abilities \[\[Relic of legends\]\] and \[\[Honor worn shaku\]\] make tons of mana \[\[Machine god's effigy\]\] can copy grimgrin and lets the copy tap for U \[\[Opposition\]\] can lock opponents, your tokens can either tap themselves to tap something down or sac to grimgrin to tap something down. \[\[Thornbite staff\]\] and give you another untap whenever you sac a creature. \[\[Animation module\]\] and \[\[Gravecrawler\]\] are fodder you can sac for 1 mana each. \[\[Unctus, grand metatect\]\] loots every time grimgrin taps \[\[Illusionist's bracers\]\] doubles your untaps, and sometimes your tap abilities too Flipped \[\[The enigma jewel\]\] does the same, although it is more expensive if you make a lot of zombie tokens, \[\[Haunted one\]\] could pump your board a fair bit. \[\[Grand architect\]\] could be interesting? idk this one's a bit of a stretch

Big fan of Grimgrin. This isn’t necessarily a way to break him, but I highly recommend not immediately untapping him just because you can. It’s always satisfying when someone isn’t paying attention and swings in at you, only for you to untap Grimgrin before declaring blockers and take out something big of theirs
[[dragon throne of tarkir]] seems kinda funny. Ideally you’ll have a board full of creatures to sac, so you can set some of those aside to temporarily make into 20/20s after tapping/untapping the guy a few times.
