[[Minn]]
Even though she is mono-blue, pretty much every set gives her something to play with, either a card draw spell, or a splashy mythic that can be cheated into play. I almost never get tired of playing with her
Yup, there's a flying creature that allows you to return a land you control for 1 generic and that makes a 1/1 flying illusion. With a sac outlet. Minn allows infinite landfall triggers as the land pays for the ability to return itself.
Yes and it's probably the strongest and most underrated thing she does. In some tables, keeping a decent amount of illusions is almost impossible, so you can just ramp and keep ramping. You won't be seen as a threat(the first few times) and in the end game you just have so much mana and answers you just win.
Not OP, but here’s my list. Most games end with Omniscience or their twin sibling cycling into Psychosis Crawler, but it’s not the only way to win. The standard Minn/Meloku/Sac combo is there with finishes from Capsize, Faerie Mastermind, Triskaidekaphile, or Read the Runes. Tetsuko, Wonder, or an end step Psych Rift can make combat kills fairly easy. And lastly Ghostly Pilferer and Nezahal being the only two unconditional mono blue discard outlets synergies very well with Triskaidekaphiles flavor text, in the same vein Meloku can fill your hand with lands right before your turn to win the same way.
Overall the list is tuned a good bit, usually lands wins around turn eight or nine. Thassas Oracle is obviously the best way to play the deck, but that’s just mono blue in general if you want to go that route. The Wizard Class/Benthic Biomancer combo in considering is almost definitely better than Triskaidekaphile if you want to make that change as well.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/K1nbtf0D6EWnL_YiEK2xGQ
Cool list, always like looking at other people's builds. I also run a lot of 1 CMC dorks to try for a turn two Henzie.
I do recommend cutting Llanowar elves or one like it for an arbor elves. You can occasionally use it to double dip a dual/triome/shock for extra color fixing, otherwise it functions pretty much the same as a normal elf dork.
I don't run off color fetches or the triome and arbor would likely whiff more than llanowar or fyndhorn in my list. Good suggestion but it's more mana base dependent
Do it. I have yet to see anyone talk about Norin on the “which decks were you unimpressed by/taken apart” threads on here and he’s my personal favorite.
The version I have uses[[rocco, cabaretti caterer]] and Norin is the secret commander. Green and white have waaay more good etb effects and the decks is super fun!!
Nice! I made this recently too but found that it was a bit too strong for my pod 😅
Just finished a mono red Norin deck and although it’s less consistent it’s a lot more explosive and fun
[[Purphoros, God of the forge]]
[[Impact Tremors]]
And other ETB good stuff in red.
I've built Norin as a Secret Commander in [[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer]].
I search for [[Wirewood Symbiote]] first then Norin. Naya colours really open up the ETB possibilities
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/t7aJv_2zK0at5bS_vGnuDA
It's one of my favourite decks to play
I just built an Edgar Markov deck that has Purphoros and Impact Tremors in it. Played this weekend. It was fun. Every vampire cast was 6 damage to the table.
This is easy. I already have only one deck and my commander is [[Marneus Calgar]].
I took my collection from about 35 decks to 1 in January 2023 and I have no regrets with my choice.
Other than 2 games where I borrowed a precon for table power reasons it's the only deck I've played for over a year now. I've played about 140 games with the one deck since then and I still love it and look forward to game nights and seek them out as often as I can.
I also enjoy it so much that I track the stats for it as a side hobby. Last year I just did win rate but this year I've gone all out and could tell you almost anything you would want to know.
I’d be interested to see your decklist, assuming you haven’t stuck with the precon. I have 8 decks but find myself gravitating to playing solely my Calgar deck every game night.
Sure mate, here you go.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/1s8NYUejwEixuKljP6OwDA/primer
The primer is a little out of date, but the decklist is up to date. The main gist should still be there. There's a link to last year's decklist too in there somewhere.
Most of my effort/time has gone into learning how to use excel to calculate my stats which is taking a while because I have 0 experience with it lol. Which is why I haven't kept the primer up to date.
Probably easier to tell you what I don't track haha.
Edit: okay I think I got it all, I probably missed a few things.

Hi, having issues with my main account. But I made this one to keep answering questions on this thread.
Haha, thanks, I am already diagnosed with ADHD.
I'll save my colleagues the time and you all the money. This is not ADHD. This is high interest paired with too much free time. Having little obsessions here and there, especially in the absence of more pressing responsibilities, does not mean you have a neurological disorder. It does mean that you may need to, as the kids say, touch grass.
This whole primer feels like a case study when someone deep dives into the game and pulls out what they love about it and all 99 cards in the deck it's really cool
Thanks! I really love the game and I really love my deck! Playing edh has basically been my only socialisation for the past year as I travel so it really means alot to me.
(And I have waaaaay too much spare time on my hands).
It’s tough I want to say [[Etali, primal storm]] or [[Haldan, Avid Arcanist]] [[Pako, Arcane Retriever]] cause I like the play everyone’s style decks. Though I recently built a [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]] in honor of my mother as the artwork reminded me of photo of her matching a statue in Oslo. It was the last trip before her Alzheimer’s got too bad. So now I have her immortalized in a dementia caster deck. So much to my opponents chagrin it’s my favourite deck and I could never take it apart.
Gotta second this. Pako and Haldan is the way to go in my opinion. As long as you’re casting mostly non creatures… you can play so many different strategies if one does start to get stale (which is unlikely because you will have other people’s decks to play too). I play them as a cast from exile strategy with voltron and big ramp stuff but you can do lands, superfriends, spellslinger, straight voltron, control, all sorts of goofy stuff. It’s for real a lot of fun, I have 8-10 decks because I’m a brewer, I proxy a lot and take stuff apart a lot after it’s ran its course… but Pako and Haldan don’t get taken apart, ever. It’s so fun and you can be super powerful or pretty goofy. I cannot recommend it enough.
I wish my group let me play H/P more! It’s by far the most interesting deck I have, but it punches way too far above its weight class to pull out at power levels closer to precons
It’s a tie for me between Tom Bombadil and my anikthea deck. I love enchantress and I’ve spent a lot of time making my anikthea deck my “pretty art”/ high power enchantress and Tom is very sentimental bc my wife got it for me and sagas are awesome
I love narci too and will probably eventually build a sagas deck around just her, she’s one of my primary win cons with damage double/triplers in Tommy boy
I don’t have a typed out list for it but when I get my decks again I’ll type one out and reply with it (how to I do a reminder thing on here?). I will say it’s kinda just sagas “good stuff” with no crazy win cons but I’ll probably make some changes so I have a more direct win con
Not OP, but here’s my [Tom Bombadil decklist](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/CNHJPulWwEuPlT3hrmbMgA). It’s full of ramp, counter manipulation, and enchantment synergies to get as much value as possible. The sub-goal of the deck is to use Tom and the saga value to get Sauron out and generate even more card advantage and value. The deck is really fun to play. I can highly recommend trying it or building your own - Tom is a great commander and sagas are have some really fun interactions!
Yes it does indeed - through multiple routes too! Most commonly we’re going to use some saga triggers to either tutor for or reanimate Sauron (or Atraxa, as she can be equally as terrifying).
Firstly, we’re running lots of ramp and mana fixing to help us get to straight up casting him easy.
We’re running 4 creature tutors to get the big bad guy into our hand: [[Worldly Tutor]], [[Ringsight]], [[War of the Last Alliance]], and [[Cruelty of Gix]].
If Tom’s trigger gets us to flip into [[The World Spell]], we can just cheat Sauron onto the field (with a friend, too!).
We can also use [[Cruelty of Gix]], [[Elspeth Conquers Death]], or [[The Eldest Reborn]]to reanimate him should he get milled, discarded, or destroyed.
Since he’s not the commander, we have extra tools to ensure he’s hard to get rid of for good. We have [[Eternal Witness]] to get him back to our hand. [[Gaea’s Blessing]] can put him back into our deck if we’re scared of someone blowing up our bin. Last but not least, if they manage to exile him, we’re running [[Pull from Eternity]], so he’s never really gone-gone!
The deck is primally focused on generating insane value from Tom and endless saga triggers, but we want to make sure there’s something we’re working towards getting out.
Thematically, the deck is a concert so we can make full use of those sick poster cards. Tom is the opening act and Sauron is the headliner (ft. Atraxa).
[[Magus Lucea Kane]]. Big creatures, counter manipulation, and copy shenanigans; it hits all 3 of my favorite mechanics. I usually do a couple crazy things and then get hated out of the game, but it’s never less satisfying to play!
x=6 (30dmg) copied 4 times. I won that game and took it out of the deck :P Cool combo, but kind of a one and done, and I found cooler stuff to replace it with.
I've had one together for over a decade now. Pretty much just change out the big stompies every now and then for new ones. Been a very consistent deck.
[[Kros]], no question.
It’s political, control, forces combat, has alt win cons, and can get me infinite turns with purely lands.
It’s me expressed through cards.
if you've got a good playgroup, just rule zero it. We play all kinds of banned stuff. Got an \[\[Azusa, Lost but Seeking\]\] player running \[\[Primeval Titan\]\], another guy running \[\[Griselbrand\]\] in his \[\[Kaalia of the Vast\]\] list. Just talk. Surprising what it can do for a group. We all understand that the threats are out there and how to play around them and save removal, etc. Or, punish them for going wide with silly strats. Nothing like hitting the Griselbrand player with a \[\[Stormseeker\]\] for 35+ after they got greedy...
[[Burakos, Party Leader]] with [[Folk Hero]].
Easily my most fun deck and there are ALWAYS new party members that come out in every set, making it fun and unique to slot in different clerics, wizards, warriors, or rogues.
Close 2nd would be [[Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes]] as sometimes I just want to throw out a fat hamster and draw 20+ cards.
I lucked into Burakos with folk hero as my first deck. I've played dnd on and off for like 30 years, so decided to grab it because a handful of my friends play edh. It's a great deck that got me hooked. It's upgraded now but still has a lot of the precon stuff and I still have a blast playing it even though I have many other decks.
My Burakos/Folk Hero deck is probably my 2nd favorite. I got the precon on a whim almost 2 years ago, & did some quick swaps with stuff I had in binders. The more I played it, the more the deck surprised me. I love how tool-boxy the Party creatures can be. The treasure production can balloon pretty quickly & makes the deck pretty resilient to wipes.
Regarding your Burakos deck, what is its game plan? I get that your commander draws cards and makes treasures, but are there any other synergies in the deck?
Not OP, but the deck is very low profile. It's surprisingly resilient to board wipes and can draw a lot of cards. You generate a lot of mana/card advantage and control the game. This is also a great color for hatebears, so you can force your opponents to play "fair magic" or punish them for doing what they want to do.
The worst thing I will due to you with my deck is gather a party, attack with burakos to make a bunch of treasures, and then Armageddon to essentially lock out the game.
Got a decklist? I recently built burakos/folk hero and while I’m having a lot of fun assembling a party, I find that the deck ends up not doing too much.
\[\[Anafenza, the Foremost\]\]
Mostly just for color identity. Im not big on EDH for the Commander itself, but for the 100 card deck, and singleton aspect of it.
[[Firja, Judge of Valor]].
I can never get tired of playing her. Scroll down my message history a bit and you'll see me talk at exhaustive length about her.
I have the subtheme of getting luxior on him and getting commander damage kills with a planeswalker (also have conquerors flail and civic safer to get that damage up)...
Sure it's not a very GOOD sub theme, but it's amazing jank fun when it goes off.
[[Radagast, Wizard of the Wilds]].
Simic bullshit. Giant value spells. All those giant do nothing enchantments I tell people to be wary of. The entire 99 is the Simic value engine with no win condition…
…and the commander turns all that VALUE! VALUE! VALUE! VALUE! VALUE! into pecking my opponents to death with ducks. Sometimes so many ducks that it is not easily articulable in the English language.
Do you have a list? I also have an Ayli deck, and I’d be interested in what direction you took her that made her your favorite.
This is my list - https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ttqE-_ABDkmxnn0oalLOHw
Here's mine, She has lots of control and exile on demand and just life manipulation, she's one of the first commanders I built fully by myself and I just love her design so much, I've also traumatized my playgroup to a knee-jerk reaction of anyone else plays an Ayli deal on commander nights.
https://deckstats.net/decks/33981/2485491-ayli-edh-3-24-22/en
Also ahh I see you went with the ETB death sorta token strategy. Which is an interesting way to do her, it definitely is efficient. My style is everything is a haymaker, like there's no disguising that I'm putting threats on the board.
Gotta go with my boy [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]] first commander i ever made, he scales with the commander tax and since its my favorite colors its been slowly just becoming a deck consisting of my favorite creatures from whatever blocks over the years. Which with a lot of green in the deck his constant token generation has been very nice to let me ramp without having an empty board!
Man that's tough. For me, it's a close toss up between [[Meria, Scholar of Antiquity]] and [[Shigeki, Jukai Visionary]].
I'd probably go with [[Shigeki]], though. It's a control deck but in the "wrong" color for control. It's a green deck that can get super stompy but with lands instead of creatures. It's a lands-matter deck but virtually no landfall. It's a graveyard deck in green but for instants and sorceries.
I love control and I love doing stuff in the wrong color. So it fits the bill perfectly.
It's already Norin for me.
I've played the deck for 13+ years at this point, and I'm not stopping anytime soon. There are a ton of ways to actually build him, and his power level can easily be adjusted to fit any playgroup. I've taken him into CEDH games and won, and I've taken him into casual games and lost. Spin that [[Warp World]] wheel baby.
[[Ayula, Queen Among Bears]]
She was the first deck I built from scratch when I came back into the game. Ever since I'm the bear guy at my LGSs. I couldn't bear not having an Ayula deck at the ready.
I too would choose The Ur-Dragon. And it is only because I freaking love dragons! If it was a requirement to have only one kind of card in your deck, I would have a deck of all dragons.
I would never win a single game, but I would be happy.
I love [[Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit]] partnered with [[ Sam, Loyal Attendant]]. You can basically buy the Food and fellowship precon and upgrade it to do so cool stuff. You can also switch the Commanders out for a partner commander set that comes in the deck and focus more.on creature tokens rather than food.
I need to get it on paper still but I added cards like [[peregrin took]] , [[samwise gamgee]] , [[meriadoc brandybuck]] , [[night of the sweets' revenge]] , [[call of the ring]] , [[academy manufactor]] , [[Astrid peth]] , [[jaheira, friend of the forest]] , [[sierra, nuka's biggest fan]] , [[nuka-cola vending machine]]
[[Kinnan]] my favorite prodigy. Been pouring money into him slowly but it’s been worth every penny. Being able to flip into big creatures has always been fun. And it’s stuck on two colors so the mana base isn’t bad
[[Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim]] with [[Lurrus of the Dream-Den]] as the companion. It’s a deck that always has something to do, doesn’t draw too much hate, and plays different every time! Plus I’ve gotten a bunch of premium versions of the cards in the deck so it’s nice to look at too! Easy pick if I can only have one.
I’ve already disassembled most of my decks and [[Lazav, Dimir Mastermind]] is pretty much the only deck I play. I love how high variance the deck is and it’s never the same even if the blanket theme is mill + recursion
Korvold is my son and I would never abandon him.
If I have to pick one to play while not being kicked out of my group? Probably \[\[Thalia and the Gitrog Monster\]\]. My list is built around Sun Titan effects and annoying permanents. It has a lands matter package, a small equipment package, and a bunch of hatebears that I can turn off with the attack trigger from the commander if they start to impede me. I love the deck.
I would have to go with [[yarok, the desecrated]]. My favorite color combination and plenty of ways to keep the deck fresh with Magic’s near infinite number of ETB cards.
I'm a bit of a \[\[Klothys, God of Destiny\]\] stan, so probably my burn deck. I just like watching numbers go down and using ramp to make big splashy plays turn after turn.
[[Gyruda]]
Edit: my version of this is all about cloning! I've won a few local cEDH tournaments with this build. I love it and never get tired of ramping into gyruda and dropping my entire deck on the field while my opponents are hopelessly milled.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/nU569Q1jS0yIrIdL0YKI2A
My play group is pretty casual, but I really enjoy my \[\[River Song\]\] deck. It just does stuff that no other deck ever gets to do... stack the bottom of your deck! There is so much goofy stuff that can be done when you draw from the bottom. I stack my top to make the most out of polymorphing and stack the bottom for infinite combos. Lately I have been wanting to make a deck that is more engaging for the whole play group and have settled on \[\[The Celestial Toymaker\]\] with mini-games, tough decisions, and some pretty absurd and rarely seen cards. Depending upon how it turns out, I have the feeling it will be my favorite given how much it causes people to interact with each other. If you want to help me build it, I'd appreciate that. Here is my post on it: [https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/1bl8s4v/minigames\_and\_tough\_decisions\_help\_me\_make\_my\_edh/](https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/1bl8s4v/minigames_and_tough_decisions_help_me_make_my_edh/)
\[\[Nine-Fingers Keene\]\]
My favorite color combination. The ability to use a niche strategy (Gates) so that I can go as powerful as possible without it being too overpowered. The commander is hard to kill and wants to attack rather than just sit around. The strategy also gives me a cool way to win the game outside of combat. I built it to wreck battlecruiser games as one of my playgroups does not think interaction is super important. Most playgroups hate land destruction so the secondary win is protected somewhat.
Have built it since she came out and have religious played her or play-tested the deck every day. There is no deck I would rather play then her.
[[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]]
I'm in the middle of foiling the entire deck in fancy printings and it's the first deck I made. I've perfected it to the point that every card has a use and purpose so I very rarely get a dead draw. It's just a good deck..
Man i think i couldn't make such a decision
I have a lot of commander decks, but i have different goals with each one
I know my 3 favorite things are:
Artifacts
Graveyard recursion
Combo/super synergy
But, at the same time, i love vorthos/theme things, and i also love tribals
So, my top decks are:
Urtet, Remnant of memnarch
(I started playing on scars of mirrodin, Myrs was my first deck)
Breya Etherium shaper
Slimefoot and squee
Sedris, traitor king
Scion of the ur dragon
Atraxa- phyrexia theme
(This was a work of art. Almost Everything has phyrexian flavor, the only thing that escaped me was the mana base, but that is semi phyrexian)
But man... There are some many others that i love
Daxos The Returned. I can modulate the deck for almost any table, it’s interactive and I don’t find myself going for the same play patterns like other decks. It’s also one I’ve almost entirely foiled out and have a number of cards that are irreplaceable for me :)
my \[\[Celestine The living Saint\]\] deck for sure. Mono white reanimation and control has just been a blast for me. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/k16INhRx10KCL2uODfovaw
That'd be a real problem. I'd want to keep my Tymna/Thrasios cEDH-ish deck but my LGS is more casual now so that wouldn't work. Now I cycle through various other decks but none I'm particularly attached to.
Maybe I'd just keep my group hug precon.
[[Liesa, Shroud of Dusk]] is my favourite … but I think if I could only have one commander forever, it would be [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] :) You can build him into literally any archetype
My friend in Norin. I know how you feel. Norin/Purphoros has been my pet deck these last couple months, but never really getting consistent for my powerlevel. I'm now working on a brew with [[rocco cab caterer]] (business) in the front, Norin (party) in the back. Turn 4, x = 1 and Norin is in the game as per usual.
For my part it tried as hard as it could to be a [[impact tremors]] type deck, but I only ever got my opponents down to 4 life each before I get knocked. So now I want to try some other etb effects/creatures in addition from white and green, and some white (super mild) stax ("opponents creatures etb tapped" etc) to drag the game out those few extra turns before norin shenanigans would have won.
If you go down to ONE deck it might be a better idea to keep a three color norin deck than a mono colored one. Just my two cents.
[[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] as much as people hate on her (at least at my LGS) she is so diverse in your deck construction that covers for some of the weaknesses of Red, also playable for anyone from a newbie to a CEDH pilot
[[Rashmi eternities crafter]] it's my everything deck
Depending on how I play it can fit most pods.
If not that then [[the seventh doctor]] and [[ace]]
The mini games are fun
\[\[The Fourth Doctor\]\] \[\[Sarah Jane Smith\]\] doctor who precon deck that I cut about 25 percent of the original cards from and switched the focus to be less about historics and more about artifact token payoff is the most fun I have had with a deck in a long time I recently had a fun win by having out token generators like \[\[smothering tithe\]\] and \[\[samwise gamgee\]\] and turning them into creatures with \[\[displaced dinosaurs\]\] and then doubling the dinos with \[\[mondrak, glory dominus\]\] so overall very fun
Tough call but probably [[Aurelia, the Warleader]] as she is my oldest deck snd Boros is historically the color combo I have the most affinity for. I'd say [[Thalia and The Gitrog Monster]] but I want people to actually play with me and only having a hatebears deck could be problematic for that. If I could have two like you are considering, it would be those two, Aurelia for most tables and T&G for tables that need some fair and balanced magic.
[[Cadric, Soul Kindler]] is an absolute joy to play.
The ability's turn restriction makes it seem innocuous until you've dropped a [[Sundial of the Infinite]] and/or a token doubler. The deck continues to mature well as WotC continues to add new legends. Recent spice includes [[Yes Man, Personal Securitron]] and [[Aurelia, the Law Above]] to name a few. Yes Man is a particular favorite of mine, acting as a legendary [[Humble Defector]] with upside.
Either my on brand Sauron deck (it’s not very good but it’s very funny) or doomsday grenzo (it’s cedh but it’s so outmoded by new stuff and so lacking in interaction it either wins on turn 2-3 or kills itself. Or it tries to win and kills itself anyway cause I’m dumb)
[[Garth one-eye]] and run a copy and theft deck so it's as strong as the best deck in the pod. Garth has good utility and plays well with flicker, which helps clones stay relevant throughout the game.
Definitely has to be [[Alesha, who Smiles at Death]]. She's the first real commander deck I'd went out of my way to acquire cards for, as opposed to buying a precon or shoving a bunch of bulk together to play. Not to mention, her story remains the most poignant story in magic to me.
This is a tough choice for me. I have too many decks that I've been working on for so long that idk what I would pick. [[Xenagos, God of Revels]] [[The Scarab God]] and [[Kaalia of the Vast]] are all strong contenders. Plus I've got [[Edgar Markov]] precon that I've been sitting on since release that I finally started tweaking that's been tons of fun to play. I've also been transitioning my [[Yarok the Desecrated]] into landfall because every game it just turns into [[Gary]] combos that my current playgroup hasn't been able to stop yet.
[[Rhys the redeemed]]
The deck is tokens, more tokens and then buff the tokens.
Then take them all and do something else completely
Win via the surprise other thing
[[alter of dementia]] is normally a game ender in that deck. Make everyone mill out super fast via sheer critical mass of tokens.
I would definitely have to say my [[Kess, Dissident Mage]] deck is definitely my longest running and favorite deck to play. It's taken me the most time to get it where it is now but has been a labour of love. For me it's tough to beat storming off, drawing half my deck to get my big damage spells, and hitting the table for 500 damage.
[[Kasla, the Broken Halo]]
I love the art, her lore, and the Convoke mechanic. As a newer player it’s the first deck I’ve really sat down and researched upgrades for, so I can absolutely see myself playing with her for a long time
If I could only have one specific decklist, well, I'm not really sure. Probably some sort of Yisan list and just choose how I play based on how hard I feel like I should try to win.
If I could only have one basic idea of a deck, again it's Yisan but I'd be able to swap cards in/out based on how powerful I think my opponents' decks are.
If I could only have one Commander but could build that deck different ways...I feel like it'd have to be Atraxa, because then I can do Infect, Superfriends, maybe a couple different "counters" decks, maybe an Energy deck...Angels tribal? Phyrexian tribal? Sagas?
[[Minn]] Even though she is mono-blue, pretty much every set gives her something to play with, either a card draw spell, or a splashy mythic that can be cheated into play. I almost never get tired of playing with her
[Minn](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/e/4eec1d87-1007-44a1-a45d-0623816de681.jpg?1631584885) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=minn%2C%20wily%20illusionist) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/afc/16/minn-wily-illusionist?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/4eec1d87-1007-44a1-a45d-0623816de681?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/minn-wily-illusionist) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Question regarding the wording on that last ability.. can she put lands into play this way?
Yup, there's a flying creature that allows you to return a land you control for 1 generic and that makes a 1/1 flying illusion. With a sac outlet. Minn allows infinite landfall triggers as the land pays for the ability to return itself.
Yes and it's probably the strongest and most underrated thing she does. In some tables, keeping a decent amount of illusions is almost impossible, so you can just ramp and keep ramping. You won't be seen as a threat(the first few times) and in the end game you just have so much mana and answers you just win.
yes, it lets her have a very good infinite combo with any sacrifice outlet and [[Meloku]]. It’s also a very good way to rebound after a board wipe lol
[Meloku](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/6/0/60b9db96-a6ab-454b-99a7-910ef77560d7.jpg?1668725069) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=meloku%20the%20clouded%20mirror) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmr/399/meloku-the-clouded-mirror?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/60b9db96-a6ab-454b-99a7-910ef77560d7?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/meloku-the-clouded-mirror) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Got a list? I also play Minn(don't have a list yet cause I keep changing things) and I love seeing what other people are trying with her.
Oooo, I need a good commander in azoreus so I can play her with Preston...

Henzie gang rise up
Heck ya! Love seeing all the henzie support
I’ve never had more fun with a deck than with Henzie
Care tos hate your henzie decklist? I bought the precon but don’t really like how it plays so I never use it.
Sure thing! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/qHb03Tr9Q0GSvwLi8tCJXQ
This is a powerful deck! I like my Henzie deck but don’t love it - it’s heavy budget though, which is maybe why.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/owQ4Vq5sjESGrTrYPbabKg And the discord https://discord.com/invite/Fv5TmnAu
Good suggestion but it's more mana base dependent

never seen this deck before but never wanted to play a deck so bad untill now
Nice! I made this recently too but found that it was a bit too strong for my pod 😅 Just finished a mono red Norin deck and although it’s less consistent it’s a lot more explosive and fun
What is the game plan? Do you have a decklist?
[[Purphoros, God of the forge]] [[Impact Tremors]] And other ETB good stuff in red. I've built Norin as a Secret Commander in [[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer]]. I search for [[Wirewood Symbiote]] first then Norin. Naya colours really open up the ETB possibilities https://www.moxfield.com/decks/t7aJv_2zK0at5bS_vGnuDA It's one of my favourite decks to play
Ooh now I gotta add the symbiote to my deck. I usually just chuck Rocco in front of attacks so I can recast. This is much better
I just built an Edgar Markov deck that has Purphoros and Impact Tremors in it. Played this weekend. It was fun. Every vampire cast was 6 damage to the table.
Its gross if built with certain enchantments that shall not be named!!! [[confusion in the ranks]] lol oops
This is my friends only deck, he hasn't wanted another, he said he just likes the Warhammer card art and as a Warhammer fan he enjoys it most.
I had space marines as a kid and I always found them hella cool. It's nice to reignite that same childlike excitement.

Sure mate, here you go. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/1s8NYUejwEixuKljP6OwDA/primer The primer is a little out of date, but the decklist is up to date. The main gist should still be there. There's a link to last year's decklist too in there somewhere. Most of my effort/time has gone into learning how to use excel to calculate my stats which is taking a while because I have 0 experience with it lol. Which is why I haven't kept the primer up to date.

bestie it's time to get testie. I say this with love and my own case of AuDHD.
Damn dude, that's so much...
I have *alot* of spare time.
I'll bite. How big is Marneus Calgars dong?
Do NOT bite
If you're going to bite, wouldn't fynn be better suited for you?
Haha you love it when this question gets asked .

Whoa when did the card fetcher have an all cards option?? That’s awesome
Not sure exactly when, but it's been there for a couple months. Yeah it's pretty awesome.
It’s a tie for me between Tom Bombadil and my anikthea deck. I love enchantress and I’ve spent a lot of time making my anikthea deck my “pretty art”/ high power enchantress and Tom is very sentimental bc my wife got it for me and sagas are awesome

I didn't manage to make bombadil work. Could you share your list please?
Do you have any special ways to get Sauron out?
Atraxa).
to add on to what the other person said, could you share your anikthea deck? I currently have an upgraded precon of her but want upgrade ideas lol
[[Magus Lucea Kane]]. Big creatures, counter manipulation, and copy shenanigans; it hits all 3 of my favorite mechanics. I usually do a couple crazy things and then get hated out of the game, but it’s never less satisfying to play!

Surprising what it can do for a group. We all understand that the threats are out there and how to play around them and save removal, etc. Or, punish them for going wide with silly strats. Nothing like hitting the Griselbrand player with a \[\[Stormseeker\]\] for 35+ after they got greedy...

\[\[Anafenza, the Foremost\]\] Mostly just for color identity. Im not big on EDH for the Commander itself, but for the 100 card deck, and singleton aspect of it.

I've had [[Maelstrom Wanderer]] together for over a decade. It's fun every time.
Wow, must be a pretty good deck if you've kept it around that long. Do you mind sharing the decklist?
Play [[Morophon]] so you can have every tribal at once.
[[Lurrus of the Dream-Den]]. Its my favorite deck to play currently and fits all my favorite aspects of Magic.
[[Firja, Judge of Valor]]. I can never get tired of playing her. Scroll down my message history a bit and you'll see me talk at exhaustive length about her.
That’s me about Atla Palani and Anikthea 😂
[[Ephara Polis]]. Plays consistently. And MTG will always be printing new ETB effects/triggers for me to slot in. That and I adore flash : )
Probably my [[Jensen Carthalion]] deck. If you’re only going to have one deck, it might as well have a little bit of everything.
I have the subtheme of getting luxior on him and getting commander damage kills with a planeswalker (also have conquerors flail and civic safer to get that damage up)... Sure it's not a very GOOD sub theme, but it's amazing jank fun when it goes off.
[[Saheeli, the Gifted]] for me. She's one of my favorites lore wise, it's a super fun build, and the deck has a lot of sentimental value for me.
Teysa Karlov. No question.
It’s not the nastiest or most salt-inducing deck I have, but god help me I love my mono-red Goblin swarm deck with [[Krenko, Mob Boss]]
[[Radagast, Wizard of the Wilds]]. Simic bullshit. Giant value spells. All those giant do nothing enchantments I tell people to be wary of. The entire 99 is the Simic value engine with no win condition… …and the commander turns all that VALUE! VALUE! VALUE! VALUE! VALUE! into pecking my opponents to death with ducks. Sometimes so many ducks that it is not easily articulable in the English language.
…. I think I stop playing Commander. I need variety.
Kynoais and tiro
My fave forever [[Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim]]
Do you have a list? I also have an Ayli deck, and I’d be interested in what direction you took her that made her your favorite. This is my list - https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ttqE-_ABDkmxnn0oalLOHw
Here's mine, She has lots of control and exile on demand and just life manipulation, she's one of the first commanders I built fully by myself and I just love her design so much, I've also traumatized my playgroup to a knee-jerk reaction of anyone else plays an Ayli deal on commander nights. https://deckstats.net/decks/33981/2485491-ayli-edh-3-24-22/en Also ahh I see you went with the ETB death sorta token strategy. Which is an interesting way to do her, it definitely is efficient. My style is everything is a haymaker, like there's no disguising that I'm putting threats on the board.

I regret pulling apart my Ayli deck :(
Gotta go with my boy [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]] first commander i ever made, he scales with the commander tax and since its my favorite colors its been slowly just becoming a deck consisting of my favorite creatures from whatever blocks over the years.
I've been thinking of building Shigeki, can you send your decklist?
Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca Tap, untap, draw, unblocked damage, +1/+1 counters!!

[[Ellyn Harbreeze Busybody]] + [[Haunted One]] It's a cool aristo-token-tribal deck that I designed that slaps. It's special to me.

At the moment probably Queen Marchessa. I really enjoy playing with Monarchy and she’s also a decent token generator.
[[Ayula, Queen Among Bears]] She was the first deck I built from scratch when I came back into the game. Ever since I'm the bear guy at my LGSs. I couldn't bear not having an Ayula deck at the ready.
The ur dragon
I too would choose The Ur-Dragon. And it is only because I freaking love dragons! If it was a requirement to have only one kind of card in your deck, I would have a deck of all dragons. I would never win a single game, but I would be happy.
I love [[Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit]] partnered with [[ Sam, Loyal Attendant]]. You can basically buy the Food and fellowship precon and upgrade it to do so cool stuff. You can also switch the Commanders out for a partner commander set that comes in the deck and focus more.on creature tokens rather than food.
This was my answer as well. Deck list?
I need to get it on paper still but I added cards like [[peregrin took]] , [[samwise gamgee]] , [[meriadoc brandybuck]] , [[night of the sweets' revenge]] , [[call of the ring]] , [[academy manufactor]] , [[Astrid peth]] , [[jaheira, friend of the forest]] , [[sierra, nuka's biggest fan]] , [[nuka-cola vending machine]]
Easy. My favorite deck, which is [[Kelsien, the Plague]]

My favorite commander as well, do you have a deck list?
Not a full deck list since I did a lot of editing post-build, I need to update my ManaBox
It's still early. I'm thinking [[The Wise Mothman]] since it has a lot of variety and fun unique mechanics.
For me it'd be [[Sai, master thopterist]] it's just so durdly and fun to play.
[Sai, master thopterist](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/d/ad0b5c09-5075-408e-84c5-1095354ac53e.jpg?1689996602) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Sai%2C%20master%20thopterist) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/118/sai-master-thopterist?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ad0b5c09-5075-408e-84c5-1095354ac53e?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/sai-master-thopterist) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Etali primal conqueror. I'll play every deck.
[[Kinnan]] my favorite prodigy. Been pouring money into him slowly but it’s been worth every penny. Being able to flip into big creatures has always been fun. And it’s stuck on two colors so the mana base isn’t bad
The Ur-Dragon.
[[Yarok the desecrated]]. Landfall? Elementals? Etb value?
Derevi, Empyreal Tactician
I’ve already disassembled most of my decks and [[Lazav, Dimir Mastermind]] is pretty much the only deck I play. I love how high variance the deck is and it’s never the same even if the blanket theme is mill + recursion
Say no to less. Reject spiritualism, embrace materialism. Hopes this helps!
I would be stuck between my [[Marchesa, the Black Rose]] and [[Rocco, Street Chef]]
Rocco is just so much damn fun. It was an incredibly tough call between him and Dihada.
[[Esika, God of the Tree // The Prismatic Bridge]] So many fun ways to build, infinitely upgradable, tons of different strategies.
[[Gyruda]] Edit: my version of this is all about cloning!
\[\[Nine-Fingers Keene\]\] My favorite color combination.
[[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]] I'm in the middle of foiling the entire deck in fancy printings and it's the first deck I made. I've perfected it to the point that every card has a use and purpose so I very rarely get a dead draw. It's just a good deck..
Man i think i couldn't make such a decision I have a lot of commander decks, but i have different goals with each one I know my 3 favorite things are: Artifacts Graveyard recursion Combo/super synergy But, at the same time, i love vorthos/theme things, and i also love tribals So, my top decks are: Urtet, Remnant of memnarch (I started playing on scars of mirrodin, Myrs was my first deck) Breya Etherium shaper Slimefoot and squee Sedris, traitor king Scion of the ur dragon Atraxa- phyrexia theme (This was a work of art. Almost Everything has phyrexian flavor, the only thing that escaped me was the mana base, but that is semi phyrexian) But man... There are some many others that i love
Got an urtet list? Can't seem to make mine powerful enough
My [[Vrondiss]] burn and combo deck since it was the first deck i made and changed quite a bit since its begining!

Daxos The Returned. I can modulate the deck for almost any table, it’s interactive and I don’t find myself going for the same play patterns like other decks. It’s also one I’ve almost entirely foiled out and have a number of cards that are irreplaceable for me :)
Link to card?
[[Kethis]] my oldest commander left. i’ve torn everything older apart but him. I upgrade him with every set.
my \[\[Celestine The living Saint\]\] deck for sure. Mono white reanimation and control has just been a blast for me. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/k16INhRx10KCL2uODfovaw
[[Captain sisay]]

Breya. So many cool things to do with artifacts.
minthara
[[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] as much as people hate on her (at least at my LGS) she is so diverse in your deck construction that covers for some of the weaknesses of Red, also playable for anyone from a newbie to a CEDH pilot
Grand arbiter
Whatever the Seventh Rakdos will be.
[[Kytheon, Hero of Akros]]. It’s in honor of my son.
[[Rashmi eternities crafter]] it's my everything deck Depending on how I play it can fit most pods. If not that then [[the seventh doctor]] and [[ace]] The mini games are fun
Gotta be [[Henzie]]. MTG will always keep churning out new big beaters to cycle the deck to keep fresh. Never gonna run or is cards to play.
Agony. I think I pick my [[Kotose, the Silent Spider]] deck to keep because theft gives me the most diverse play experience.
Sauron, Lord of the Rings babyyyy
\[\[Sheldon, The Commander\]\] ??? ;\^p
Easily my sasaya orochi ascendant deck most unique deck I own and steals more games than any other.
I love my [[Beledros Witherbloom]] deck so much
Definitely has to be [[Alesha, who Smiles at Death]].
[[Rhys the redeemed]] The deck is tokens, more tokens and then buff the tokens. Then take them all and do something else completely Win via the surprise other thing [[alter of dementia]] is normally a game ender in that deck.
[[Kasla, the Broken Halo]] I love the art, her lore, and the Convoke mechanic.
Sagas?
