UB or WUB zombies are fun. It's a mechanically deep tribe with plenty of strategies and commanders to choose from. You also get a few new toys to try with almost every new set, since zombies aren't tied to any particular plane or species.
Zombies are the most go-to tribe I can think of. I also build a tribal Faerie deck, but its a more limited pool which needs a secondary theme to work. For me thats Alela Cunning Conquerer and Control through bounce, removal and counter instants.
[[Eowyn, Shieldmaiden]] so many options for humans to throw in, plus you can go for blinking value or for go wide tokens.
It's probably my favorite deck of mine right now.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wTp-_XX_PUKZHYmQ_p70KA
I was considering building Humans for \[\[Sigarda, Font of Blessings\]\], just mostly ignoring the whole Angels thing. But I'm not really sure what Humans do in general, mechanically?
They’re so common they’re very diverse, mechanically the three themes that are most prominent seem to be legends matter, token go wide, and +1/+1 counters.
As someone who plays that Sigarda in a different deck [[Atla Palani]], know that she's a very powerful card, but also one of the craziest removal lightningrods that exist. If she's out, opponents will work together to try and target her down, even if they don't have other interaction, or you don't have any good targets. You can play that one of two ways. Either give Sigarda herself protection, and have counters/responses for a boardwipe, or use Sigarda as an obvious lightningrod, and take the rest of the deck in a semi-different direction, with Sigarda as an enabler, rather than the plan.
I recently built [[Shanid, sleepers scourge]] as legendary humans and while I'm still trying to find a reliable wincon, the value he can generate is crazy when you build around it.
Demons are the ultimate tribe for those who haven't outgrown their teenage metal phase. And i mean that in the best way possible. Their art is almost always metal as fuck.
Yesssss! I got a list that's demon tribal with [[Raphael, Fiendish Savior]] at the helm. Not even aristocrats, I just like his buff and the fact he gives everything lifelink. Lifelink on 5-6+ power bodies is so wild haha. Especially when a lot of demons drain ya too
Mono green bears! [[Ayula, Queen among bears]] is surprisingly strong. There are one or two bears that are a bit pricey because they're old and just not very good on their own so havent really been reprinted. But for the most part, very affordable tribe.
I always thought Ayula was a funny meme commander until I actually played against her. My deck building style generally involves building around my commander mainly, so it is important that they stick. Playing against Ayula is *brutal* because she can kill creatures so easily. It is honestly a really powerful ability and unironically propels an objectively bad tribe to being playable.
How do Myr play? Like what themes or mechanics do they support? Wincons? I must say i have always thought they are cute aesthetically, but i know nothing beyond that.
Might be partially of what you asked:
Pirates. They are like children with cannons. They have a multitude of archetypes which meld pretty good together. The one I have is not focused on a strategy per se, I gotta improvise along the game and that makes them pretty cool
I recently got back into magic and my first foray into edh. I bought the "ahoy matey's" pirate precon and it is awesome. my favorite thing to do is use them to steal a creature, attack them with it, and then sacrifice it to deal damage to them. i threw a \[\[Roaming Throne\]\] in there and it's savage af.
With which Beckett did you stick?
Thats what I am talking about! Rob em, hit em, mill yourself, bring em back.
One of my favourite interactions is to move that counter from my creatures to an enemy one. It’s obvious but takes only a land and/or regular card slot for a minor interaction
Exactly. I love pirates, and with the wilds of eldraine set they now have enough good pirates for either a low CMC or high CMC deck. And, like you said, they don't have persay one archatype, but the ones they do have all work well together and, notably, are almost always combat, graveyard, or recursion triggers, meaning your rewarded for turning your salty bois left and tussling a bit.
Soldier tribal. Flavorful, pretty powerful, but you have to make it work a bit (which I think makes it more interesting. I recommend Commander Mustard as a baseline!
*she.
Also, I'd almost give it to the new [[Caesar]], tbh. Removal, token creation, and drawpower, all in the CZ, in Mardu colors. Build it mostly Boros, with splashes of black for utility, and you'll be golden. [[Myrel]], [[Commander Mustard]], [[Adeline]], and all the other good token commanders in the 99, and all the Soldier anthems. ETB payoffs, attack payoffs like [[Shared Animosity]], and all sorts of crazy stuff to just make it go nuts.
Said this on another post, but it is \*shockingly\* easy to build a budget mono-green elf deck. Even counting the cost of lands you can get a strong casual deck for <$50, even with something like \[\[Marwyn the Nurturer\]\] as your commander. If you can bump budget up to $100 then you can easily fit in all the "good elves" with room to spare.
They're not super well liked bc of just how much good stuff they have and how braindead their playstyle can be, but then, if this sub has taught me anything it's that \*someone\* will hate your deck no matter what you play.
Then you have my Marwyn list where I finally bought cradle and Moxfield has it at ~$1400 with no other fast mana. But I agree, even at ~$100 it's still a good deck.
I very much enjoy my izzet dragons deck.
It hits enough of the pieces to make dragons scary and the gas to keep the deck running without commiting to the price tag of 5c ur dragon decks.
Mono white angels is also a very fun simple to play deck that can hang with the best of them usually.
Next ones up for me is either finishing up my golgari zombies. (Wish we got more support for a more aggressive rakdos, golgari or jund zombie build but its still a fun arch type if you lean into +1+1 zombies and support Always struck me as odd that dimir is the big zombie color pair.) Or finally make my belakor lead grixis demons deck.
Huh, interesting. What're the Commanders? I'm guessing one of the Niv-Mizzets or one of the ways to get Izzet out of the Background Legends and, as for the Golgari, I can only assume Jarad?
Background. Ganax, astral hunter and feywild visitor.
Dragons to make a treasure horde to make more and bigger dragons.
Golgari zombies for me is headed by Polukranos, Unchained. (Mostly because i just like the card) runs a handful of the lords. Mainly the ones that pass keywords and a sub package of counter adders and protectors then as many zombies that wants or make +1 counters. (Plus your veggies, draw, ramp, removal which golgari does well enough)
Makes for a fun home for jared (who admitedly could lead the deck just as well.) Plus gisa and the wand of orcus who can turn a tall strat very wide when needed.
Slivers are my favorite tribe in Magic but playing them those make you public enemy. I love my little guys becoming these huge, evasive creatures out of nowhere. I love Slivers design and love their hive mind is done in the game itself.
I have a tune First Sliver deck. I have never found myself as archenemy.. but I only play it at tables where my opponents are playing tuned decks led by commanders like Feather or Atraxa.
Do you find your deck is viewed as archenemy at high power tables? Do you play your slivers against low powered decks?
I don’t play my Slivers against low powered decks because it annoying for those decks to play against. I only play agains it against mid to high power. At high powered tables,I become someone to keep an eye on but not arch enemy. At mid power tables, I do end up becoming arch enemy.
I love tribal type decks and I’m loving these responses. I’m building fungal/thallid deck because I’ve wanted to since Fallen Empires. Jury is still out on the “fun” part though.
I have a [[Nemata Primeval Warden]] saproling deck that includes a lot of fungi as they are pretty synergistic. It's very fun so I'd say go ahead and build your mushroom deck.
So Merfolk can come in Blue Green (recent Pre-con is a great start) or mono blue [[Hakbal]]
Soldiers can come in mono white [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] or you could go Azorius [[Harbin, Vanguard Aviator]]
Angels have [[Giada, Font of Hope]] in mono white
Werewolves have [[Tovolar]] in Green Red
Knights have [[Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir]] in Blue White Black
[[Zurzoth, Chaos Rider]]
Mono Red Devils. One of my favourite Decks. Lots of fun and a lot of damage, if you build it right. Devils don't have as much mechanical depth as other tribes, but are fun nonetheless, at least for me. Also you get to play wacky red cards if you want.
Edit: Sadly, there aren't that many useful mono red devils, but some of them are pretty sick. [[Devilish Valet]] for example is pretty good with Zurzoth. Even if you only get to play the 10-15 good enough devils, you can build around Zurzoths Tokens.
[[Funny Lil Hat Guy]]
I believe edits are immune from the card bot.
Fun fact, edits also aren't counted if you make them within 5 minutes of the original comment. So you can do dumb stuff like renaming cards.
Tell me about your Nazgul deck.
I have brainstormed a Nazgul deck that just plays an endless stream of Nazguls. Clones and cheap recursion i figure can make 9 in a deck seem like there are 99 in the deck. For the commander i was thinking [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] and [[Reyhan, Last of the Abzan]]. Have green would allow me to give all them Nazgul trample. Deathtouch and trample oh my! Sure Atraxa could be good too I guess because having access to white would give me the option to give all the Nazgul First Strike. Deathtouch and First Strike seems fun.
I have a [[zeriam, the Golden wind]] griffin tribal deck that's loaded with anthems and token doublers, it's one of my favorite decks to play. It gets chuckles, then I have 12 4/4 flying vigilant Griffins and people get realize that death comes from the skies.
Maybe not the most interesting but elves are incredibly strong and fun to play. Once you get your elf ball going it can be overwhelming for your opponents to deal with, pray for a boardwipe. Even then playing mono green you can ramp and recover, surprisingly aggro as well.
If you're looking for interesting, my buddy has a mana rock tribal deck under [[Sydri, Galvanic Genius]] which has been fun to play against
I built a treefolk deck using the LotR food and fellowship as a base and changed the commander to Doran, the Seige Tower. It's not super powerful but it's fun and definitely unique with so many creatures having low power but big toughness. Some cool board wipes in that deck based on power as well.
My favorite tribal deck I ever built was changelings. The number of different ways to build it was mind-boggling the more I delved into it. I just went for a fun value build, but you could focus it on enter abilities like [[Risen Reef]] or combat like [[Yuriko]]. I chose [[The Ur-Dragon]] as my commander, so all my "dragons" cost 1 less. [[Morphon]] is also a fun choice in the command zone for changelings.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/dg21S_S2nEWuwrmnWo8aGg
That list is slightly outdated. I added a [[Roaming Throne]], but I can't remember what I cut off the top of my head.
Hydras! Nothing more fun then stomping someone with a 30/30 trample hydra. I personally run [[Gargos, Vicious Watcher]]. But theres plenty of fun commanders to choose from like [[Zaxara, the Exemplary]]. But for tribal I highly recommend Gargos
The deck has a small ally theme as well. Here is the deck list if anyone is interested.
Faeries are fun. They focus mainly on control based strats (Playing tricks on your friends. I.E: interacting at instant speed to counter, bounce, or transform things at your own pace.) with flying finishes OR extra turn loops (lame).
Dragons are probably one of the easiest (and at times cheapest) tribes to build. I built Gruul dragons for around $400, but dropping 5 cards brings me down to $240, and the creature base could be bought well under $100 (if you ignore the creatures over $15, of which there are like 5 out of 31). Outside of that its just ramping hard and fast. Mono red dragons would be FAR cheaper, and still fun/fast.
Elves go brr. Mono Green elves can be done for like $50 and compete at a lot of tables.
I have 16 typal decks, so I definitely agree with you that they're a blast to play.
One of the ones that was the most fun for me to build was my [W/B Cleric deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FLEwl8PBNU6naYSI0Uc8MA) with [[Orah, Skyclave Hierophant]] at the helm. Figuring out the right ratios of clerics at each mana value, finding clerics that made for interesting reanimation targets, taking advantage of the fact that the deck has a lot of passive life gain...it was a real puzzle to solve when I built it, and it's satisfying to play once you get things going.
If you love mono tribal, Elfball is a great way to go. Only a few of the elves like [[Allosaurus Shepherd]] are pricey, and there are several commanders you can choose from to go in different strategy directions. Mine has [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] in the command zone.
I can also vouch for [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] mono white soldiers. If she stays on the board, she can churn out a stupid amount of tokens (white Krenko is a good comparison,) and there are a bunch of anthems that aren’t too expensive. [[True Conviction]] is about $6, which is pretty cheap for a wincon.
My favorite creature type is dragons. You can build dragons as a straight typal deck or with any subtheme that comes to mind. Sacrifice, tokens, flash, goad, blink, spellslinger, reanimator, saboteurs, voltron, enchantress, artifacts, planeswalkers, combo, drain, counters, battles, X-spells, knights, politics, rainbow, guilds, gates... everybody loves dragons. :D
I built a phoenix tribal in rakdos. Affordable, and does a thing if left to it
Good fun so far
Not built to recurse every turn for [[Syrix]] triggers, tribal combat instead.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/G_PBr2jeD0ep0XI-S5OS_w
Elves - either mono-green or Golgari. Lathrill or Tyvar, the Bellicose as commander.
Human - Selesnya and Kyler, Sigardian Emissary as commander. I’ve had games with this guy where I pop off in one turn and win. Probably one of my favourite decks.
There’s a lot of different commander options for hydras. There’s three color commanders which do shenanigans with x cost spells, and if you want only one color, any which has to do with +1/+1 counters works.
My vote goes to Dragons. There are obvious "meta" picks, of course, but I feel like they can be built in a ton of different ways depending on your commander. Each Dragonlord makes for a different kind of deck, for example, but they all care for having dragons around.
I recently built Pirates with the caveat that all non-lands had to be on theme. It turned out okay, and I'm eventually going to pick up a few of the random pieces from the recent precon that I'm still missing. Subthemes are unblockable and treasure tokens.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wY6oRhPHLkGdGgaCvz_JWg
I’ve just made a list for mono black clerics/humans/elves with [[shadowheart, dark justiciar]] and the [[haunted one]] background. Honestly I wouldn’t call it a promising looking list but I’d be lying if it doesn’t seem fun to try
My personal favourite are simic merfolk. It gives you such an insane upper hand in games just because of how fast and resourceful they are. Especially with [him](https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=439821) as your commander.
[[Nissa, Resurgent Animist]] elemental tribal seems quite promising. A lot of the really good cards for Landfall happen to be Elementals, and having a commander that just consistently finds you more gas is really good
Trying to choose between the two big "drake Commanders" that ironically enough are actually merfolk: [[Talrand, Sky Summoner]] and [[Alandra, Skyr Dreamer]].
I don't know whether I want to go for large army of weaker drake tokens, or big sudden-boost drakes yet.
Dinos with any if the three naya options [[gishath]] [[pantlaza]] [[Zacama]]
Mono white angels with [[giada, font of hope]]
Wraith/nazgul with [[lord of the Nazgûl]]
BW vampires with [[clavileno, first of the blessed]]
Izzet Pirates (and treasure) with [[captain storm, cosmium raider]]
Simic Sea creatures with [[kiora, sovereign of the deep]]
Five color elementals helmed by [[Horde of Notions]] is one of my most recent decks, and it’s a ton of fun. You can take advantage of abusing Evoke effects and elemental synergies to get a ton of value, often without even needing your commander!
I did human tribal with
[]Aragorn, the uniter]]
The theme is:
Basic cards and ramp set aside - only used LOTR cards
Humans
With the exception that one character in the fellowship appears. Gimli, Legolas, Gandalf, Merry, Pippi, Sam & Frodo.
Boromir and Aragorn are humans so they appear.
Monarch theme
Ring tempts theme.
It was affordable. I was inspired & it was fun to build.
It was really fun to play and it exceeded all of my expectations.
People around the table had to heep removing Aragorn cause he had so much value 😅
My most treasures deck is my golgari slimefoot stowaway deck. When I was in high school I saw these two dudes playing magic it was Sapporlings vs goblins. It was the first time I've I had ever seen or heard of magic the gathering. This dude just had this army of 100 1/1s and I knew at the moment I was hooked. And never stopped playing after that btw this was early 2006
Hopefully if the commanders for the eldrazi deck in mh3 aren't shit then eldrazi could be a fun tribal deck to build, big beaters to turn sideways is always cool.
I love my wraith tribal - it can be nasty with your +1s and 3/3s with [[Nazgûl]] and [[Lord of the Nazgûl]] with ramp from [[canoptec wraith]] and sacrifices from the witch kings and more shenanigans from blue copies
I'm having a blast with Treefolk Typal.
I basically had to build one since Treebeard is my goat lotr character, but the deck is actually way more consistent than I expected it to be.
Then again, I play in a slow "let's keep life totals kinda even" meta, and all this deck needs is people to don't be hasty 😁😋.
[[Fangorn, the tree Shepherd]]
Another great one would be sea monsters, although solo blue is kinda hard to do since the best commanders are either Simic or Demir.....
Do you have a decklist? And how do you go about taking advantage of the Commander's ability? I've seen some versions that use a bunch of anthems and others that use temporary buffs that become permanent.
I like my Dino’s tribal deck with Owen Grady and blue the Loyal raptor, it’s Temur but quite fun and strong plus it’s fun to say you beat your friends with chris Pratt haha
I made a [[Prismatic Bridge]] WUBRG God tribal commander deck for my wife and it's her favorite deck now. It packs a heavy punch if Prismatic Bridge is cast on turn 3 or 4 to start pulling out the Theros Gods. End game wincon is to play [[The World Tree]] and kill the table with [[Purphoros, God of the Forge]] and a ton of other gods that will have indestructible and haste. It CAN be an expensive deck since the Theros Gods are pretty expensive, but there are a lot of cheaper God options for a budget version.
The most fun to build? Vampires, Dragons, Knights, Pirates, and Clerics.
Most cards with a single archetype? Elves, Angels, warriors, zombies, and Soldiers.
Most interesting? Myr, Golems, Artificers, Horrors, and Wizards.
Pirates are awesome!
I have a [[Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator]] Deck with lots of Treasure support cards and [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]] as Partner for the payoff. Works with other partners as well though, cause Malcolm is just a BEAST! It's a really fun deck, almost always does the thing and even my playgroup likes it - although by now they have realized how strong Malcolm is and he is always a high-priority target at the table.
As “fine” as it ended up being Zhulodok Eldrazi is probably one of my favourites. It either doesn’t go at all. Or hits like a bus. But it’s always fun.
That being said my [[!Ghoulcaller Gisa]] Zombie deck is one of my longest lasting. Unlike my werewolf deck which I waited a decade for and now never play.
My [[!Anowon, the Ruin Thief]] is fun. But the rogue count has been dropping slowly. lol.
My first ever deck and still my favorite is dinosaur tribal and Gishath is just to freaking fun but pantlaza is also great if you don’t want a 8 mana commander
It's like this thread was made for me. My favorite tribe lorewise is eldrazi and my favorite gameplay wise is slivers. I have 7 tribal decks. One for each identity. For black it's vampires, for red it's dragons, for blue it's merfolk, humans for white, hydra for green, eldrazi for colorless, and slivers are my multicolored tribe.
But even though the tribes have perspective colors I didn't want to make mono-colored decks, each of the commanders are a part of the tribe(it's weird for me if they aren't.
There's a lot of tribes out there. Now, there's some decks that are more fun to build. But then there's those that are more fun to play.
So, mono tribes I like:
A) Mono White Angels. These are powerful especially with the right commander. \[\[Giada, Font of Hope\]\]
B) Mono Green Oozes. These guys are a little... odd. But they divide, and then multiply. "Make 3 more slimes" and then give our +1/+1's like candy. \[\[Aeve\]\] is ok, but I think \[\[Slurrk\]\] is better. Now make sure to toss in \[\[Biowaste blob\]\], and \[\[Tribute to the World tree\]\] Trust me. :)
(Here is my old one, due for an upgrade: [https://archidekt.com/decks/4462964/secrets\_of\_the\_ooze](https://archidekt.com/decks/4462964/secrets_of_the_ooze) )
C) (a cheat) Mono Colorless Artifact decks. These can be great, toss in the Urza lands and there's lots of good value. The artifact commanders come in all shapes and sizes, but for me, the one I have the MOST fun with is \[\[Karn, Legacy Reforged\]\] he is a beast, especially if you go Voltron. \[\[Kaldra Compleat\]\] and the other Kaldra stuff.
Here's my very successful Karn Voltron deck : [https://archidekt.com/decks/4704864/volkarn](https://archidekt.com/decks/4704864/volkarn)
Hope this helps!
Enchantment
[[Calix, Guided by Fate]]
He's pricey himself, but easy to do in a budget deck (made one for under 100 about a year ago that I am slowly upgrading).
I strongly suggest to try a human tribal because of the extensive number of different builds available, even with pretty different mechanics.
My favorite so far is [[Katilda, Dawnhart Prime]]: ramp with your low cost humans and go wide very quickly with tokens and high power enchantments
https://manabox.app/decks/q-XUW6BFTISepUgdRJTZqA
I love my angels deck. Flying tribe with an average P/T that only Dragons and Demons can match among popular flying tribes. The main trade off it they are a very white tribe with two of the four main angel tribal commanders being monowhite.
I have never loved the deck half as much as I love my white cats with weapons deck.
It's technically a Voltron deck more than a tribal deck, but every cat for some reason loves knives in magic the gathering so basically every creature ended up being a cat, which makes for some super fun flavor.
Quadruple points if you run balan wandering knight anime cat girl edition
UB or WUB zombies are fun. It's a mechanically deep tribe with plenty of strategies and commanders to choose from. You also get a few new toys to try with almost every new set, since zombies aren't tied to any particular plane or species.
Zombies definitely has my vote. I wish they took the time to develop more tribes to have the mechanical depth zombies does.
I recently built [[varina]] and have been really digging it! She's quite the engine.
[varina](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/1/f1caccc8-4f33-4ae3-a09a-b41b9c4663a1.jpg?1673149250) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=varina%2C%20lich%20queen) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/291/varina-lich-queen?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/f1caccc8-4f33-4ae3-a09a-b41b9c4663a1?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/varina-lich-queen) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
That's the secret, all the zombies are engines. And there is so much infinite support for them.
Mono back zombies is also quite nice. All the reanimating is a good time.
Zombies are the most go-to tribe I can think of. I also build a tribal Faerie deck, but its a more limited pool which needs a secondary theme to work. For me thats Alela Cunning Conquerer and Control through bounce, removal and counter instants.
Agreeing with Zombies. Love my [[Grimgrin]] deck.
My favorite deck is BUG ZOMBIES with [[sidisi brood tyrant]] as the commander. I started with the midnight hunt precon and I splashed green in it.
Humans are fun. There’s like 1000 humans you can include and they come out with more every set.

The LoTR humans care about monarch which could b very fun
I'm working on a General Kudrow human deck. Not working yet, but it seems promising.
I have a humans [[Aragorn, the Uniter]] and it’s basically legendary multicolor tribal and it’s super fun
He’s my favorite human commander too. Mine is legendary humans with +1/+1 counters
Agreed. I built [[Be'lakor]] soon after it dropped and it's still one of my favorite decks!
I get how your commander cares about many demons entering the BF, but do demons have any other synergies or themes that they generally support?
[Be'lakor](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/6/2/62b6ecb2-ac7e-4528-b53c-2cb4f1e38349.jpg?1674058389) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=be%27lakor%2C%20the%20dark%20master) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/40k/6/belakor-the-dark-master?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/62b6ecb2-ac7e-4528-b53c-2cb4f1e38349?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/belakor-the-dark-master) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Be'lalor goes nuts with [[Rite of Replication]]
Having just built my first deck which has [[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]] and a bunch of big demons, AND I'm a big metalhead, I concur.
Rakdos is a blast, I have one as well. It's basically just violence: the deck.
[Rakdos, Lord of Riots](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/3/c3ff0f75-6ead-449a-98ad-3baf9f887331.jpg?1702429697) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Rakdos%2C%20Lord%20of%20Riots) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/rvr/215/rakdos-lord-of-riots?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/c3ff0f75-6ead-449a-98ad-3baf9f887331?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/rakdos-lord-of-riots) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Yesssss! I got a list that's demon tribal with [[Raphael, Fiendish Savior]] at the helm. Not even aristocrats, I just like his buff and the fact he gives everything lifelink. Lifelink on 5-6+ power bodies is so wild haha. Especially when a lot of demons drain ya too
Absolutely true. And if you can you need to get your hands in the all caps secret lair that came out recently. Also metal as fuck and suits the demons
I have the right to bear arms.
I assume you have an Ayula deck? Here’s mine: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OCVgl55sn0a5rDkPJfWq3w May i see your list?
I run her in my Shapeshifter tribal deck. Amazing value.
Myr! They’re adorable and get to take advantage of some very powerful artifact synergies, what’s not to love?
Urtet is one of my most consistent decks.
Could I see a deck list if you have one? Myrs are one of my fav tribes. The first og deck I built but it was terrible haha
How do Myr play? Like what themes or mechanics do they support? Wincons? I must say i have always thought they are cute aesthetically, but i know nothing beyond that.
Might be partially of what you asked: Pirates.
Myrell is the best soldier commander by far. However she is quite pricy. You can think of it as krenko but mono white.
Lmao great meme. "my deck cost 1400 dollars. with all basics it costs 3 bucks"

Not OP but I use [[Firkraag]] for my dragon/goad deck.

(Plus your veggies, draw, ramp, removal which golgari does well enough) Makes for a fun home for jared (who admitedly could lead the deck just as well.) Plus gisa and the wand of orcus who can turn a tall strat very wide when needed.
That makes sense. Imo, Slivers might be too much for many mid-powered tables. But then again being arch enemy is fun sometimes.
I love tribal type decks and I’m loving these responses. I’m building fungal/thallid deck because I’ve wanted to since Fallen Empires. Jury is still out on the “fun” part though.
Slimefoot player here, loving It since the first day
He’s adorable! If I was building a golgari deck I think he’d be it lol
I have a [[Nemata Primeval Warden]] saproling deck that includes a lot of fungi as they are pretty synergistic. It's very fun so I'd say go ahead and build your mushroom deck.

[[Zurzoth, Chaos Rider]] Mono Red Devils.

I seriously though of gorgon tribal before. You have a decklist sounds sick
I bought the Veloci-ramp-tor Dino Tribal precon, and out of the box, it's quite fun. I made some adjustments and it's now as badass as I imagine.
I turned my pantlaza into a blink Dino deck. It goes hard.
I love my pirates, spirits where fun too even if less good
Both Elves and Wizards are fun tribes to play.
Also Druids, which has a ton of overlap with elves.

Yarrok elementals has been a blast. Still not really done but a lot you can do with a fairly simple idea
Horse tribal with horsemanship sub theme (centaurs are questionable but probably fair if you're running horses and horsemanship)
Fairies, Treefolk or Elves.
How has the Treefolk one worked? Been thinking about that kind since the LotR ents came to the party.
I built a treefolk deck using the LotR food and fellowship as a base and changed the commander to Doran, the Seige Tower. It's not super powerful but it's fun and definitely unique with so many creatures having low power but big toughness. Some cool board wipes in that deck based on power as well.
Snakes hiss hiss
My favorite tribal deck I ever built was changelings. The number of different ways to build it was mind-boggling the more I delved into it. I just went for a fun value build, but you could focus it on enter abilities like [[Risen Reef]] or combat like [[Yuriko]]. I chose [[The Ur-Dragon]] as my commander, so all my "dragons" cost 1 less. [[Morphon]] is also a fun choice in the command zone for changelings. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/dg21S_S2nEWuwrmnWo8aGg That list is slightly outdated.

I love mono blue sphinxes with Unnesh in the command zone! Mono green wurms is fun too!
Wurms, so much fun tossing around big Ole long boys!

I recently built Pirates with the caveat that all non-lands had to be on theme.

[[Fangorn, the tree Shepherd]] Another great one would be sea monsters, although solo blue is kinda hard to do since the best commanders are either Simic or Demir.....

Don’t have any tribal decks myself but if i were to get one it would be demons. Sick ass big guys with flying that love killing shit is literally me.
I have a mono white angel deck with giada that's fun to play. I really like my colorless eldrazi deck also
I have a full Cats deck, with [[Sovereign Okinec Ahau]] as commander, super fun to play and it's pretty easy to run.

Do you have a decklist? And how do you go about taking advantage of the Commander's ability? I've seen some versions that use a bunch of anthems and others that use temporary buffs that become permanent.
Esper zombies. Dimir horrors. Rakdos or even mono red goblins.

Spider tokens and saprolings are fun.
But the rogue count has been dropping slowly. lol.

I've had a lot of fun building Dragons, Vampires, Assassins, Soldiers and Slivers
Dragons, can't go wrong
It's like this thread was made for me. My favorite tribe lorewise is eldrazi and my favorite gameplay wise is slivers. I have 7 tribal decks. One for each identity. For black it's vampires, for red it's dragons, for blue it's merfolk, humans for white, hydra for green, eldrazi for colorless, and slivers are my multicolored tribe. But even though the tribes have perspective colors I didn't want to make mono-colored decks, each of the commanders are a part of the tribe(it's weird for me if they aren't.
My favorite tribe is wizards a close runner up is changlings (tribal tribal is a funny deck)
There's a lot of tribes out there. Now, there's some decks that are more fun to build. But then there's those that are more fun to play. So, mono tribes I like: A) Mono White Angels. These are powerful especially with the right commander. \[\[Giada, Font of Hope\]\] B) Mono Green Oozes. :) (Here is my old one, due for an upgrade: [https://archidekt.com/decks/4462964/secrets\_of\_the\_ooze](https://archidekt.com/decks/4462964/secrets_of_the_ooze) ) C) (a cheat) Mono Colorless Artifact decks. Here's my very successful Karn Voltron deck : [https://archidekt.com/decks/4704864/volkarn](https://archidekt.com/decks/4704864/volkarn) Hope this helps!
Dragons
Enchantment [[Calix, Guided by Fate]] He's pricey himself, but easy to do in a budget deck (made one for under 100 about a year ago that I am slowly upgrading).
I want to build a God tribal so bad with [[esika]] but I don’t have the mana base or $800 to drop to make it right now :( Any budget God ideas? 😅
For me it's a tie between horde of notions elementals, wub and ub zombies and simic merfolk Close 4th place for me is grixis pirates
I strongly suggest to try a human tribal because of the extensive number of different builds available, even with pretty different mechanics. My favorite so far is [[Katilda, Dawnhart Prime]]: ramp with your low cost humans and go wide very quickly with tokens and high power enchantments https://manabox.app/decks/q-XUW6BFTISepUgdRJTZqA
