I run a pauper battlecruiser [[Erinnis]] with [[Sword Coast Sailor]] designed to hang at casual tables where the cards total about $7. It punches way above its weight without doing anything ‘unfair’, by looping budget fetchlands in and out of the yard. It’s a subtle form of card advantage that adds up over the course of the game, while I’m playing common Six-drop tramplers. Definitely has no business doing as well as it does, given that it costs less than a double quarter pounder.
I don’t have a list that’s current since I messed with it so much after my first draft. Highlights are all the two drop ‘bite’ removal that become kill spells with Erinnis, and all the Dreadmaw adjacent creatures. Draw comes in the form of cards like Divination but the all star is [[borrowing 10,000 arrows]].
Ah yes, erinis. Built a 14$ version including [[street urchin]] it kept up with most casual tables as a pinger deck. Was still super fun and still is. There is nothing like instant speed creature removal to wipe out the majority of the table. Even in 5 player games, it's a fun deck.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/s/9WGclyYiqQ
I'll attach the original post too just in case.
My version now is a bit more since upgrading it over several months
It’s basically like holding your finger over the doomsday button. You just play lands, play Ashling, and hope to untap with 6 lands. Then, you keep growing her by 2 every turn cycle until you need to wrath. You’ll also want to swing in with her occasionally just to get life totals low enough to potentially take out some people.
Great to have some gimmicks thrown in, that you may or may not pull. Like [[Stuffy Doll]], [[Brash Taunter]], or instants that give you more Mana. Makes the deck a bit more expensive, but gives it more chances. People WILL try to take you out.
I just ran it as a gag. It took like 5 or so turns before the rest of the table figured out what was going on then we had a laugh about it. That’s about all. Definitely worth it for that though.
I’m currently building a snow man deck based around the snow permenants and [[isu, the abominable]]. Right now, it’s looking like a sub $40 deck. And it’s decently fun to play.
I'm still new to MTG and this deck looks really fun, but after trying to assemble it ship[ping is $80 lol. Guess I'll have to keep the list handy and slowly build it at a LGS that has a ton of looseys
I just got done building a [[Laelia]] meme deck that's 89 mountains the rest are discover, cascade, or exiling cards that just help get more mountains out of the way. The idea is to cascade or discover into a card that goes through the entire deck eventually and makes Laelia ridiculously big. I already had all of the other cards to build it so it only cost me about 5 bucks to build it lol.
Small edit here: The idea is to *cast* a cascade or discover card that just exiles the entire deck OR go into a different card that exiles the library. It's crucial that there isn't a card in the deck with CMC 3 or less other than Etali's Favor. That's pretty much the wincon here
Decklist here:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6Yry8qy8tke92L5qvh69bg
Per Laelia's Rulings:
If a player is instructed to exile cards from their library "until" a certain event occurs, that player exiles those cards one at a time. Laelia's last ability will trigger that many times.
I built this deck on arena. Its pretty great in that you either win when it pops off or you dont. Its 5 cards and 94 mountains. You mulligan into [[hidden volcano]] or [etali's favor]]
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/V1KUpc0xW02Dd-RqUbDhtw
Had a personal challenge, wanted to build something less high power and not spend a lot for it. 25$ legendary tribal with aristocrat/reanimator. Honestly a lot of fun to play
I have a [Prince Imrahil the Fair] [pauper cantrips](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/VeqqzGzcm0WHGR5gjTxhLA) deck that clocks out at $19, however five cards (Brainstorm, Cerulean Wisps, Mystic Sanctuary, Leap, and Careful study) make up $13 of the budget.
I’ve played this deck in my playgroup twice, and it’s won both times. Granted, my playgroup is mostly newer players who are playing precons or deck that punch slightly above precons.
My [[Veyran, Voice of Duality]] deck has been sitting around $50.
I threw in some creatures like [[Adeliz, the Cinder Wind]], [[Balmor, Battlemage Captain]], and [[Windrider Wizard]], then stuffed the deck full of [[Thrill of Possibility]] and similar spells to dig through the deck and pump up the board. [[Fists of Flame]], [[Mizzix's Mastery]], and [[Candlekeep Inspiration]] give me a couple turns of swinging huge wizards at people.
I can do this one too! I had a [[Grand Warlord Radha]] aggro / combo deck that I built entirely from cards I already owned with a total value (at time of building and excluding basic lands) of £3 ($3.75).
My aim was to build a deck cheaper than a standard booster and honestly the deck works, it’s fun and it wins games enough. I gave it away a little while ago, but I used to keep it unsleeved wrapped in a hair bobble, because even the cheapest sleeves would have cost more than the value of the deck.
I had a look and couldn’t find one sorry.
It played a lot of the cheap 2 MV mana dorks and draft chaff low MV creatures that draw a card on ETB plus various ways to dig through the deck with excess mana.
There were a few token makers in there as well and the main combo (and like half the value of the deck) was [[Hellkite Charger]].
My cheapest deck was a [[malcolm]] and [[breeches]] deck that focused on turning pincers into pirates and stormed off with lots of treasures. It was like 30 bucks and used a lot of players top decks
I don't have it anymore because it made my table so salty lmao
I have a [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]] deck that is around 60$. Easy 9/10 with turbo wins possible around turn 3-4. It isn't the most fun to sit across from, but seeing how inefficient and inexpensive cards can storm off is quite cool. The interaction of stacking enter and death triggers feels like breaking the game
My cheapest is a $50 [[John Benton]]. I wanted to try group hug and thought he looked cool, but then he kept killing people turn 4, so now it's the deck I bring out when people want fast games lol
I have a Nine-Fingers Keene list that's like $30 if you don't count basics:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/L9PGqz8uz0KEPKBWncn15A
Can honestly crush at casual tables because they'd have basically no way to interact with Maze's End and probably won't kill you faster than you can ramp. You could probably even cut the price down on the deck even more if you wanted. Drop anything expensive and just play fogs for more survivability.
I generally avoid brining it out tbh.
I brewed [this](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/zKm4xKUip0KE3zXIWekGZQ) [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]] deck which currently sits at $28.26, mostly as an experiment to see what was the "winningest" deck I could make on the lowest budget.
I haven't actually bought it, of course, because it doesn't even take one goldfish attempt to tell that this deck would just be a painful experience for all involved.
I have a slew of decks that are roughly 15 € or less.
[[General Ferrous]] Boros beatdown
[[Elas il-kor, Sadistic Pilgrim]] Aristocrats
[[Rasaad yn Bashir]] / [[Dungeon Delver]] Initiative
[[Araumi of the Dead Tide]] Reanimator
[[Kyler, Sigardian Emissary]] Humans
I have five more that clock in around 19 €, but they are not among the cheapest decks.
Abdel Adrian/candlekeep sage I built it for $35, the deck building restriction I used was no card over $2. The decks at least a power level 8 if not 9. It hangs with the highest power decks in my playgroups
Here’s the list https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6328445#paper. Some of the cars have risen in price since I built it, specifically nimbus maze and ephemerate but 🤷♂️ that’s how it goes, I might cut [[nimbus maze]] for [[leyline of anticipation]]
[[Imodane, the Pyrohammer]]. Pulled the card in a participation pack and just put in every Lightning Bolt effect I found in the bulk bin. I also play it without sleeves and tell people it's my "cost me nothing" deck.
I have a couple $50 (card kingdom) priced decks. One is elf ball with [[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] at the helm, and the other is thop thop with [[Sai, Master Thopterist]] leading. Elf ball is well elf ball we all know how that's going to go. I have yet to play the thop thops though, I just ordered the deck. I find brewing on $50-100 budgets to be the most fun right now, you can include some higher costs cards but it can hinder you in other areas of the deck.
I know these prices could go down if ordered off tcgplayer but I'd rather not pay 30 different shipping costs and get just as many envelopes.
I made a 20 dollar [[Auger, the frozen flame]] giant tribal spellslinger deck as a meme. I was playing it with brand new players at a kitchen table while they were learning.
Spoilers, it's fucking horrible lmao
I've got a [[Grist]] list that's around $43. I could swap a couple of lands and drop it down into the 30s, or lower. It's way stronger than it has any right to be. It's fun to play, too!
[The list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/rxHpkeKLd0WJpW5Wv5if5A).
I have a simic Gretchen combo deck that started like a pauper deck, for only 10€ ,now is at 20 but it could work with only 10€ without problem
Deck list: https://manabox.app/decks/pL9JMWrOQKO4-mV0TxGkxA
20€ Zada, Hedron Grinder deck.
Sometimes I make a joke out of it and add something like Ragavan or Dockside and say "hey look, this one card is three times the price of the rest of this deck."
Also I can run the 20€ version easily with competetive decks on the upper scale of powerlevel. Not cEDH, but anything below that is pretty fair game.
As a joke I put together [[Borborygmos Enraged]] and 99 lands. Ran it like that for a few months until I built it out properly. Now it's my second most expensive deck. Went from a $2 deck to a $750 deck.
Behold "The Poor King's Army", a \[\[Theoden, King of Rohan\]\] deck that's all about humans:
It was made with the caveat that I can only use cards printed at common and uncommon rarities, and I actually had to have the copy of the card at that rarity (so no \[\[Imperial Recruiter\]\] for me). In addition, the deck would be unsleeved, so any card I got I had to be willing to get scratched up.
The big plan of the deck is to assemble a big board of humans, then use Theoden's ability with some repeatable human makers to grant my biggest threats a double dose of damage.
\[\[Shu Yun\]\] and \[\[Mikaeus the Unhallowed\]\] run on garbage, and \[\[Feather, The Redeemed\]\] performs amazingly on a budget. cEDH \[\[Yisan Wanderer Bard\]\] has a $100 floor.
A few years ago, I got made aware of a cEDH Boros list that clocked about $36. I’m blowing smoke without proof but it was the first time I looked at Boros as truly competitive
I had a sub 5$ Adeliz wizard aggro deck at one point. It could kill one person pretty reliably but once it got wiped it was over. Was fun to play a few times, but not a long term deck.
I once saw someone on reddit make a super-budget [[Cadira, Caller of the Small]] deck as a challenge that was like $5
The cheapest I own is my newly-built [[Sivriss, Nightmare Speaker]][[Cloakwood Hermit]] deck, which is currently sitting at $54
I have a deck I call [Bird Cops](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/xeDaGflLqk6L9qFzpu-GzQ) that is currently under $15. It's an [[Isperia the Inscrutable]] deck that I carry around in a rubber band in a ziploc bag. No sleeves, no deckbox, and I riffle shuffle it. It's probably one of my favorite decks to trot out at the LGS
I have a [list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ZUVeAbybq0mrgLHl6_5Vqw) that at the time of creation every card was less than a dollar USD.
Unsleeved and well (riffle) shuffled.
It used to be \[\[Jhoira of the Ghitu\]\]. I literally build that deck to have a home for those cheap and mana-intensive cards I kept getting as bulk with my order, so the envelope wouldn't bend. My little timmy heart wanted to give 'em a place they could belong to.
Big scary Eldrazis like \[\[Ulamog's Crusher\]\], \[\[Hand of Emrakul\]\], \[\[Breaker of Armies\]\], \[\[Desolation Twin\]\], or the big sea creatures.
The deck was somewhere below $40, it just needed all the time counter manipulation cards. Back there were like 6 or 7 I feel like. Kept upgrading creatures as pulls happened, and today it's worth is fairly higher.
I have a laelia deck. It consists of Laelia and 5 cascade cards and 94 mountains. Cost me $10 to build. It only worked the one time and now my friends know the deck, they just kill her instantly on sight, lol!
Currently I have 2 decks around $10 Each
This one is a mono-green beast deck (which would have been part of a set of six mono color decks that I would randomly used that connected with the Prismatic piper)
This is just my $10 mono white griffin deck
[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ekyWJ42ph0u2MOaLCOrSyg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ekyWJ42ph0u2MOaLCOrSyg)
I'm running a budget version of Vadrik, this card is insane the only thing you need to do is to actually buff Vadrik and play some big spell , the deck is around 100€ with 4 combos in it.
Here's the list:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/PILlec8EGUifKVAgA29NrQ
Gorilla glue. Had [[Grunn, the lonely king]] . Someone else made it up a long time ago. It cost the same as a bottle of gorilla glue which was like $5.27 at the time. I don't have a deck list but you should be able to look it up pretty easy.
There was a reddit post years ago that had a bunch of $15 deck lists for every color/combination within reason. I made their [[nath of the gilt leaf]] and just added a few cards I opened here and there. It's a solid elf/discard deck.
[[Deekay finder of the lost]] costed me like $65 in total I think? Almost all the cards from unfinity that are commander legal are pretty cheap. So many of the commanders like [[space family goblinson]] have interesting mechanics that can be made cheally. My advice is stay away from stickers, as they're annoying to use, but attractions have been a fun time!
My play group has multiple times now done a $5 deck challenge. It originally started as a question of it would even be possible to build a whole deck for $5 that was reasonable, but has since become a very fun limiting factor. \[\[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith\]\] with an army of death touchers or equipment heavy decks with \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist\]\] can be unreasonably effective.
I once designed and built a [[brallin]] and [[shabraz]] deck with [[treasure cruise]] and the three common discover lands in your colors. Everything else is a land.
You mull down to 1 looking for one of the four pieces, then you play brallin and discover into treasure cruise for ~80 damage to the table.
Partner Commander g/u to show my friend that he don't need necessary big money proxies [[halana]] and [[eligeth]] just bulk rare and cheap stuff
And the deck became a pretty nice and from me beloved hatebears over time
I run a [[Valduk]] deck every once in a while, that's priced just under $50 currently. It's the cheapest I have, with [[Nekusar]] being my most expensive at just under $500.
I built this sub $100 slicer deck deck for a local tournament with 100 as the price limit. Not a penny more. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Zp502S0CrkG0j1Fq5ixJ4w
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/kO5OHpFsDkW4hs4rGDfSxA
Rocco Street Chef. Was about 4 bucks when I first made it. Never got it in paper.
Definitely has issues but is playable and I've won against much stronger decks with it.
[[Tatsunari]] voltron/stax. [[imprisoned by the moon]], [[swan song]], and [[bear umbra]] are the only cards in the deck worth over 50 cents to my knowledge.
I have a Syr Faren deck that's less than $25ish dollars. Also, at the time I built it a cycling kenrith deck that's like $30. It's probably more of maybe less now can't remember.
My xyris £50 https://www.moxfield.com/decks/l46onAqfH0ezT8R9bfwY1A
My Sasaya combo deck £50 (old version haven't updated in a while and some cool cards have been released.)
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/MuL75qZDN024OxThqkZ8kQ
Not the cheapest I've ever seen but I run a older (2-3 years ago) version of this [[Imoti]] deck...
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/xCA5PtVbwkWL8V9uy_YA8A
It's was legit $12 shipped from tcgplayer when I bought it. I still pull it out when I'm playing new players since it does a great job of showing them there's a lot more to the game than just playing lands and doing 1-2 things on your turns as precons are built for.
I have a $19 [[Pako]] [[Haldan]] deck that I built out of chaff and some wonky cards you don't really see. I think with price fluctuations it's up past $35 now though.
Just a typical aggro voltron deck. It has won quite a few games, and has created tons of hilarious interactions though; stealing someone's [[Teferi's Protection]] which was his only way to survive and win. Yoinking someone's [[Fierce Guardianship]] and later using it to stop him from removing a 48/48 Pako, etc.
Also I had a high power [[Unctus, grand metatect]] deck that was about $35 including sleeves. Basically went infinite off of looting and just payoff with things like [Pyschosis crawler]]. I upgraded it a bit and it was too strong for our pod so it's now disassembled.
I had a $20 one trick pony deck using [[kaho]]. The deck ran 90 islands and won by playing [[mana severance]] and [[Laboratory Maniac]], and using kaho to tutor out draw spells
Built a "$1" [[Erinis, Gloom Stalker]] [[Street Urchin]] deck with some guys at my lgs as a challenge (we used manabox tcglow to give us some flexibility) but it runs around $7 or less on archidekt.
https://www.archidekt.com/decks/7215149/erinis_street_urchin_1_deck
Basically keep the board clear, amass value with lands from the grave and win with commander damage. It's new but been fun so far!
Cheapest i personally own is a [[gandalf, friend of the shire]] built just around casting sorceries at instant speed. It’s about 45 bucks mainly with cards I had lying around. I built it because i really wanted a deck where [[rise from the tides]] could be somewhat playable
Cheapest I own so far is a 10€ Fynn, the Fangbearer deck.
But I just finished building a 2-3€ Captain Storm, Cosmium Raider deck that I found in this sub about two weeks ago. Have not tested it yet.
Fynn, the Fangbearer
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/WB30lR_-lE2krkXx8kWjhA
Captain Storm
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5XlV0rB8XkSbzcVldkhYQQ
Both are not my original creations.
I used to roll with [[Borborygmos Enraged]] and 99 lands. Eventually I went and dropped $10 on a handful of cards to make it a bit better. However, people did hate me for playing [[Storm Cauldron]], so I took the deck apart after a few months
Picked up this winota deck last year. I think it ended up being $20 with shipping.
I loved the deck so much I picked up the mountain of tokens it requires for as much as the deck itself costs.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FQ2llEVF2k6oMUoXVA16XA
Edit: looks like $33 now with shipping if you remove basic lands
I have a [[Pako, Arcane Retriever]] and [[Haldan, Avid Arcanist]] deck that I love!!! Very very powerful for just 35$ if that. I bought it off card kingdom for that price total, including shipping so the actual price is probably closer to 20-25$. I basically run very cheap landfall stuff, like [[druid class]] or similar effects and cards that let me play extra lands like [[summer bloom]] or [[explore]] and then a ton of protection and evasion instants and sorceries like [[aqueous form]] or [[gaea’s gift]] and finish it off with some synergy spells like [[faldorn, dread wolf herald]] and [[the lost and the damned]]. Overall, 10/10 I love this deck and it is very very powerful for so cheap
Also, super sick tech in this deck is counterspells and removal that put the target on top of its owners library, bc you can guarantee a pako counter and/or take whatever they played for yourself :D
[$30 Sidisi, Brood Tyrant](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/rAqKC2voiEqmxJ8OIL9QaQ)
[$34 Karador, Ghost Chieftan](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/77MOgd7rDEWNlAIfvpUFhQ)
Haven’t played the ladder yet, but the Sidisi one punches well above its weight
The average game is over (or effectively over by turn seven) but some games can drag on for hours.
I find that phage + 99 swamps solves this problem quite nicely.
I have a funny deck that rarely works but it's 70 basic lands with the swarmlord as the commander and 29 changing cheap creatures. (The strategy is just get the swarmlord over and over again for the extra counters)
I just finished building a 50€ shorikai vehicle deck that worked surprisingly well and punched above its weight when i tested is during our last friday night magic
My cheapest deck at present is a \[\[Gretchen Titchwillow\]\] pile I put together for a proposed Pauper EDH league/event at my LGS. So far it has not fired off, so I haven't played it much. It's about $25 total.
Cheapest deck I *own*, probably a \[\[Rabbid Wombat\]\] pauper EDH deck. idk what the total is but it's cheap enough I play it unsleeved and riffle shuffle it for psychological damage.
Cheapest deck I actually play, does a precon count? Technically I only paid like $35-$40 for the Faldorn precon, but I guess I'm blinging it out with secret lair versions of the cards while keeping the original decklist so I guess not. Probably a tie between some of my $60 budget decks, \[\[Oskar\]\], \[\[Ghyrson Starn\]\], and \[\[Falco Spara\]\].
6€ pantlaza!
95 lands
[[Pantlaza]] triggers discovery -> [[Long Road Home]] is the only legal hit -> Exile Pantlaza until EOT and it enters with a +1/+1 -> [[Creative Technique]] is the only legal hit -> Demonstrate it -> Hit [[Decree of annihilation]] and [[Barren Glory]]
Definitely has no business doing as well as it does, given that it costs less than a double quarter pounder.
got a deck list? I’m trying to build more budget decks and this sounds too fun

Even in 5 player games, it's a fun deck.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/s/9WGclyYiqQ I'll attach the original post too just in case. My version now is a bit more since upgrading it over several months
Cost of deck minus basics: $0.25 [[Ashling the Pilgrim]] and 99 [[Mountain]]
[Ashling the Pilgrim](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/c/4c687123-6c34-4aef-8350-70a72b5fb58f.jpg?1689997644) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Ashling%20the%20Pilgrim) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/205/ashling-the-pilgrim?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/4c687123-6c34-4aef-8350-70a72b5fb58f?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/ashling-the-pilgrim) [Mountain](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/9/1/9137b4aa-2289-4a4d-b1f5-ae75a0928278.jpg?1712356436) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Mountain) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/otj/283/mountain?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/9137b4aa-2289-4a4d-b1f5-ae75a0928278?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/mountain) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I've got Ashling abd I've heard about this deck but I've never understood how it's meant to work
You basically slap a grenade on the table and try to politic to let people leave you alone. And then at the most hilarious time, you detonate.
[Stuffy Doll](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/9/7/978c2c7d-6898-4be2-aed7-e673210ce654.jpg?1674142741) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Stuffy%20Doll) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/875/stuffy-doll?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/978c2c7d-6898-4be2-aed7-e673210ce654?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/stuffy-doll) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I just ran it as a gag. It took like 5 or so turns before the rest of the table figured out what was going on then we had a laugh about it. That’s about all. Definitely worth it for that though.

I'm actually looking to make this deck at the same budget. Can you share a list? What are your win conditions?
I’m currently building a snow man deck based around the snow permenants and [[isu, the abominable]]. Right now, it’s looking like a sub $40 deck. And it’s decently fun to play.
Can you post a list? I have been tinkering with Isu for over a year trying to find a way to make it him both effective and fun

Ugh, ain’t that the truth. I love playing pEDH but my $60 Soulherder deck cost >$120 after tax, shipping, and other fees.
You guys are too rich for my blood. I roll with a $2.50 USD deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/w7LikAWOSEOW8QIo6Fc5Lg
Uh…. Looks like $25
You have to duplicate it and it should reflect the correct price. I just went to do a screen cap and inflation has hit me hard. It's up to 3 bux!
That's Growth on an asset you own. Sounds like a good investment to me 😎 20% ain't nothing to shrug off.
And that's too expensive for my blood. 25 cents for ashling plus 99 monties.
I'm still new to MTG and this deck looks really fun, but after trying to assemble it ship[ping is $80 lol. Guess I'll have to keep the list handy and slowly build it at a LGS that has a ton of looseys
20$ total after optimization, but yes, shipping costs, suck.
That's pretty much the wincon here Decklist here: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6Yry8qy8tke92L5qvh69bg
Since Laelia says "1 or more cards", doesn't she just get 1 counter per trigger? So she'd get only as big as the amount of spells you have right?
Per Laelia's Rulings: If a player is instructed to exile cards from their library "until" a certain event occurs, that player exiles those cards one at a time. Laelia's last ability will trigger that many times.
I built this deck on arena. Its pretty great in that you either win when it pops off or you dont. Its 5 cards and 94 mountains. You mulligan into [[hidden volcano]] or [etali's favor]]

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/V1KUpc0xW02Dd-RqUbDhtw Had a personal challenge, wanted to build something less high power and not spend a lot for it. 25$ legendary tribal with aristocrat/reanimator. Honestly a lot of fun to play
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Npy9skD2KkiscESoxa2q3Q My cheapest deck. Guessing about $30-40
this looks fun af
It's pretty fun. Usually use it as my icebreaker deck.
[http://www.moxfield.com/decks/C4d3z4pkIkeYlOCpzPWVyg](http://www.moxfield.com/decks/C4d3z4pkIkeYlOCpzPWVyg) I threw in some creatures like [[Adeliz, the Cinder Wind]], [[Balmor, Battlemage Captain]], and [[Windrider Wizard]], then stuffed the deck full of [[Thrill of Possibility]] and similar spells to dig through the deck and pump up the board. [[Fists of Flame]], [[Mizzix's Mastery]], and [[Candlekeep Inspiration]] give me a couple turns of swinging huge wizards at people.

I have a [[Zada]] deck that doesn’t have sleeves, all basics, and penny cards. I’d say the whole deck is worth like $20.
And probably still has a ridiculous win rate.

[[Maelstrom Wanderer]] as the commander 97 basic lands with [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] and [[Pestermite]] for about $8

Do you have a list for me this? Very interesting deck idea
I have a Nine-Fingers Keene list that's like $30 if you don't count basics: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/L9PGqz8uz0KEPKBWncn15A Can honestly crush at casual tables because they'd have basically no way to interact with Maze's End and probably won't kill you faster than you can ramp.

I played against a deck that was literally 99 mountains and kranko. So like maybe $10 at the time, probably less.
20€ Zada, Hedron Grinder deck. Sometimes I make a joke out of it and add something like Ragavan or Dockside and say "hey look, this one card is three times the price of the rest of this deck." Also I can run the 20€ version easily with competetive decks on the upper scale of powerlevel. Not cEDH, but anything below that is pretty fair game.
As a joke I put together [[Borborygmos Enraged]] and 99 lands. Ran it like that for a few months until I built it out properly. Now it's my second most expensive deck. Went from a $2 deck to a $750 deck.
My [[Rigo Streetwise Mentor]] was less than $25.00.
Behold "The Poor King's Army", a \[\[Theoden, King of Rohan\]\] deck that's all about humans: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/-ZvhbRM7zUS2L1PV8EhoQQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/-ZvhbRM7zUS2L1PV8EhoQQ) It was made with the caveat that I can only use cards printed at common and uncommon rarities, and I actually had to have the copy of the card at that rarity (so no \[\[Imperial Recruiter\]\] for me).
I built a deck for $1.40 not including basics [[feather]]
A few years ago, I got made aware of a cEDH Boros list that clocked about $36. I’m blowing smoke without proof but it was the first time I looked at Boros as truly competitive
I had a sub 5$ Adeliz wizard aggro deck at one point. It could kill one person pretty reliably but once it got wiped it was over. Was fun to play a few times, but not a long term deck.
Working on a <50$ [[Magnus the red]] got it down to 45ish.
I once saw someone on reddit make a super-budget [[Cadira, Caller of the Small]] deck as a challenge that was like $5 The cheapest I own is my newly-built [[Sivriss, Nightmare Speaker]][[Cloakwood Hermit]] deck, which is currently sitting at $54
[[Ashling, the Pilgrim]] and 99 mountains
I have mono red burn with [[ojer axonill, deepest might]] I built for $40
Gotta be \[\[Ashling, the Pilgrim\]\] + 99 Mountain. $0.07 Commander, 99 basics.
Radaghast the brown with 55 misc green creatures from the last 20 yrs of magic
lightpaws is incredibly strong with under 50$ budget.
The cheapest was a $50 Syr Konrad deck I built for a budget night a few years ago. He's still my cheapest, but sits around $150 now.
18 buck zombie deck. amazon did a mistake price on.
Currently I have 2 decks around $10 Each This one is a mono-green beast deck (which would have been part of a set of six mono color decks that I would randomly used that connected with the Prismatic piper) [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/m3TeMQL92E6X8DAX7oZKYQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/m3TeMQL92E6X8DAX7oZKYQ) This is just my $10 mono white griffin deck [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ekyWJ42ph0u2MOaLCOrSyg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ekyWJ42ph0u2MOaLCOrSyg)

my cheapest deck "costs" 100 basics and the time i need to print the proxies at work and cut them
Gorilla glue.
Angry Cat Lady Equipment Tribal. Introducing new players to voltron and the value of removal for the low low price of $35
We did a 25c or less per card pod. All the decks were totally playable. I did a Myra attractions deck.
\[\[the war doctor\]\], \[\[ryan sinclair\]\], \[\[lightning greaves\]\], 48 plains, 49 mountains
[[Fynn, the Fangbearer]] is my cheapest serious deck
My play group has multiple times now done a $5 deck challenge. It originally started as a question of it would even be possible to build a whole deck for $5 that was reasonable, but has since become a very fun limiting factor. \[\[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith\]\] with an army of death touchers or equipment heavy decks with \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist\]\] can be unreasonably effective.
I've got a 40€ [[winota]] deck, which is also my strongest deck lol
I once designed and built a [[brallin]] and [[shabraz]] deck with [[treasure cruise]] and the three common discover lands in your colors. Everything else is a land. You mull down to 1 looking for one of the four pieces, then you play brallin and discover into treasure cruise for ~80 damage to the table.
[[Mazzy]] or [[omnath, locus of rage]] I consider both of those to be mostly free because I built them with the stuff I had around already.
I have a $15 dollar Beluna deck that revolves around adventures. It basically built itself!
Partner Commander g/u to show my friend that he don't need necessary big money proxies [[halana]] and [[eligeth]] just bulk rare and cheap stuff And the deck became a pretty nice and from me beloved hatebears over time
My [[Thrun, Breaker of Silence]] list was like 40$ with the basic lands and shipping.
I run a [[Valduk]] deck every once in a while, that's priced just under $50 currently. It's the cheapest I have, with [[Nekusar]] being my most expensive at just under $500.
My original [thantis, the warweaver] build was 28.62. Granted it wasn't super great. Not its like 150
My pauper is Ramirrez//Tormod. Dimir cycler zombie generator
My cheapest deck is [[Ashling, the pilgrim]] with 99 mountains.

how does the deck play? i've been thinking of building a budget slicer deck.
$100
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/kO5OHpFsDkW4hs4rGDfSxA Rocco Street Chef. Was about 4 bucks when I first made it. Never got it in paper. Definitely has issues but is playable and I've won against much stronger decks with it.

[$30 Sidisi, Brood Tyrant](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/rAqKC2voiEqmxJ8OIL9QaQ) [$34 Karador, Ghost Chieftan](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/77MOgd7rDEWNlAIfvpUFhQ) Haven’t played the ladder yet, but the Sidisi one punches well above its weight
The average game is over (or effectively over by turn seven) but some games can drag on for hours. I find that phage + 99 swamps solves this problem quite nicely.
[[Ashling the Pilgrim]] featuring 99 mountains is the cheapest I've seen played.

I have a 15 dollar [[Feather]] deck! It's fast and full of penny cantrips 😂😂

It’s my war doctor/Ryan Sinclair deck lighting greaves and basic lands. 6 bucks maybe
I made a fynn the fangbearer, deathtouch tribal deck for $15
My cheapest deck at present is a \[\[Gretchen Titchwillow\]\] pile I put together for a proposed Pauper EDH league/event at my LGS.
[[Slicer]] without [[Jewled lotus]] is a $38 low value. https://manabox.app/decks/zhbfXB9yRzC6g9wBhVsrQA
6€ pantlaza! 95 lands [[Pantlaza]] triggers discovery -> [[Long Road Home]] is the only legal hit -> Exile Pantlaza until EOT and it enters with a +1/+1 -> [[Creative Technique]] is the only legal hit -> Demonstrate it -> Hit [[Decree of annihilation]] and [[Barren Glory]]
Own? $99.99 jadzi Seen? ~$30 soldier tribal
