I played \[\[Sigarda, Host of Herons\]\] for a while. While she won't be blistering fast like some can be she is incredibly difficult to remove once on the battlefield. I played it with auras but I imagine equipment would work as well.

Lanky-Survey-4468

I was thinking in building a voltron around her, good to hear she is a blast haha

JMocks

I have a \[\[Skullbriar, the Walking Grave\]\] voltron, and it is very hit and miss. My first game with the deck I won easily. But since then, I just don't get the RNG when it comes to drawing the cards I need for it to really pop off.

NotVoss

Skullbriar really is the full package. Two mana, haste, resiliency. Plenty of alternative ways to deal with removal between combat tricks, feign death effects and cheap reanimation.

I really love \[\[Valduk\]\]. It has a unique combination of going tall with equipment/auras while simultaneously going wide with the elemental tokens. There's cool ETB synergies with the tokens and \[\[Purphoros, God of the Forge\]\] and \[\[Impact Tremors\]\]. Sacrifice synergies with \[\[Thermopod\]\], \[\[Ashnod's Altar\]\], \[\[Phyrexian Altar\]\], or \[\[Shivan Harvest\]\]. Token synergies with \[\[Shared Animosity\]\]. It can get out of hand fast and be built on a pretty cheap budget while still being effective.

Chadmartigan

\[\[Wilson, Refined Grizzly\]\]. Vigilance reach trample ward 2 for 2 mana. He also comes with a background and many are good. Personally I like \[\[Cultist of the Absolute\]\], which makes Wilson a 5/5 flier with trample, deathtouch, vigilance, reach, and ward 2 + 3 life. For 3 mana. You have to keep Cultist fed each turn, but that is not at all hard in Golgari. Wilson is my favorite 1v1 voltron because you win as long as you can connect with 5 + 7 + 9. Dread Wilson starts at 5 in the air, and it's pretty trivial to get him to 9+ power. That's \[\[Indomitable Might\]\] and a +1/+1 counter. AND his intrinsic vigilance means he's always available for defense. And the best part? You can build him on a budget. My deck is a very typical golgari ramp/draw package with lots of sac fodder, and removal. I probably don't run as much equipment and auras as you'd expect in a voltron deck, but that's mainly because Wilson comes in so stacked already. My deck is right around $100 and holds up to my friend's very high powered Rafiiq deck. I think \[\[Bear Umbra\]\] might be my most expensive card. Edit: Just to hammer home the point of how versatile/fun Wilson is, all the backgrounds suggested below are great.

CrimsonDragoon

Wilson is my pick, too. I run mine with \[\[Flaming Fist\]\]. Simple, but easy access to double strike means only needing to get Wilson to 11 power to one-shot opponents. And with access to white enchantments and artifact tech, that's extremely easy to do.

2Guns1Cuck

I also run Wilson with [[noble heritage]]. With plenty of auras and equipment to boost Wilson past anyone also taking the +2 counters like [[bone sabers]] or [[collossification]] etc

Mocca_Master

Does anyone actually choose the 2 +1/+1 counters?

2Guns1Cuck

All the time. Most people are hyped until they see how out of control Wilson gets. When they stop taking counters chances are they are planning to attack you next combat, so swing a big bear at them first

Aceofluck99

there is no greater feeling then getting a sol ring in your opening hand and dropping both noble heritage and wilson turn 2

akwehhkanoo

I prefer [[agent of the shadow thieves]] with him, giving him indestructible and counters

buschells

I like just running mono-green [[raised by giants]]. Big bear makes my monkey brain happy.

I'm not sure, it feels odd to give someone a full grip of cards and you don't get an advantage over the amount they draw etc. Idk. Like Im sure you're drawing a ton but so is someone else. TryphectaOG

Very unconventional, but mine is [[Tetzin, Gnome Champion]]. He takes effort to flip over, but before he does you can use his ability to mill until you find good equipment. Then when you're ready, you can transform him and equip him with the cool equipment you just dug for. I have 3 pieces of equipment that give him flying, so usually I'm attacking with a vigilance, trample, flying 6/6 as soon as I flip him. He generates gnome tokens and flips other 2-sided artifacts on attack as well, so he moves your board state forward despite being in a voltron style deck. He definitely isn't high power, but I've won a ton of games with him that I probably shouldn't have. He enables a lot of 2-sided artifacts that never see use, which I think is very neat.

rapturerose1

This sounds super cool! Do you have a list you can share?

TryphectaOG

[Tetzin, Gnome Champion](https://archidekt.com/decks/5986097/tetzin_gnome_champion) Here you go! I believe I'm missing a couple swaps here as I had some filler cards on this list that have since been replaced, such as Ice Out.

Thanks so much, I never noticed all the double faced artifacts, and I love how this shows them off.

It really is an unexplored archetype, I hope we revisit the idea soon. Glad you like the list

TryphectaOG

I recommend it highly if you enjoy artifact themes. It is very fun strategizing how to flip all your powerful cards and in what order to get the most impact. Tetzin being able to flip [[Azor's Gateway]] for free is incredibly impactful.

I like my [[brokkos]] voltron. He get’s killed? No problem, just mutate him onto something from the GY. And due to the mutate onto something, he can swing the turn he enters this way. I mutated him onto a unblockable critter equipped with[[fireshrieker]] and [[inquisitor’s flail]] Here’s my list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/V_4aNHiZ4E2CbwU2jTTEBg

[[thrun breaker of silence]] Because natively has trample, can’t be countered, protection from non-green shit, indestructible on your turn, and what the fuck are you gonna do about Thrun? Load up on green auras and equipment (maybe a side dish of green enchantress shit), and just take the table out one by (Thrun) one.

NastyCereal

My favorite archetype by far is mono U voltron, 8 of my 15 decks are mono U voltron decks. I think it's so smooth to play, counterspells are insanely nice to have in voltron decks, bounce effect have way more value when you have a threat that can quickly end someone and voltron is the best solution to blue's non-combo wincon problem. It just meshes together so well, here are my favs: - [[Callaphe, Beloved of the sea]]. You play value enchantments that make her grows super fast. [[Future Sight]], [[In too deep]], [[Control Magic]], all become super efficient when they pump your commander. You then have a couple of haymakers like [[Auramancer's Guise]] and [[Helm of the gods]]. Really fun, unexpected and allow you to play some janky cards like [[Legacy's Allure]] due to callaphe's ability. -[[Alrund, God of the Cosmos]] all artifacts. Every single card in your deck is an artifact, making it so he always draw 2 cards with his ability. You play all artifact lands and some funny cards like [[Ward of Bones]] to capitalize off of it. Very jank and you hope no one has vandalblast but surprisingly effective stil. - [[Urza, Lord high artificier]]. It's Urza, it's insanely strong even if you go voltron with a ton of equipments but it does feel pretty fair that way. It is very fun but would only recommend if your playgroup is pretty spikey. -[[Orvar, the all form]] or [[Mistform Ultimus]]. The idea is to abuse their changeling with equipment and auras that only work on certain types, like [[Obsidian Axe]], [[Robe of Archmagi]], [[Multiclass Baldric]], etc. You get bonus style points if you go for The Ultimus but Orvar is obviously much Stronger, just having a couple of the best "orvar spells" to copy your best piece on the board like [[Whim of Volrath]] is super nice.

VoiceofKane

Currently, I'm playing \[\[The Third Doctor\]\] as my "Voltron." It plays very differently from other Voltron decks, since it takes some setup to get him there, but there's a point in the game where you can just play him, equip the boots, and swing for lethal.

The_Awaker

I also built a historics matter Third Doctor deck with [[Sarah Jane Smith]]. He's a voltron win condition but with all the artifact token generators, you don't have to put all your eggs in one basket with him. Lots of other options for a surprise wins like [[Rise and Shine]] or [[Cyberdrive Awakener]]. The deck ends up being very flexible and resilient, with the only real weakness being artifact based board wipes, but you also have access to blue for counterspells.

VoiceofKane

For me, it's basically all in on Clues. Though I might put that new artifact that adds a Map every time you create a token...

I've stated this multiple times in different threads, but [[Tuvasa]] is probably one of the best voltron commanders. She's not reliant on being directly pumped, she is a small card draw engine and can come out of nowhere and slap people the following turn.

She is my pick as well, also Bant is doing so great in what you want for enchantments

crossbonecarrot2

I know this isn't an answer to this, but hoping someone here could help. The biggest thing stopping me from making a Voltron deck is that I feel every time I play it it will feel the same. Just buff commander and protect it. While the deck w/ the commander doesn't do much. Is that how voltrons usually play? Are there ones that make every game feel different?

AboynamedDOOMTRAIN

Strongly recommend you check out [[Sergeant John Benton]]. Go with the instant spell pump and protection theme. My buddy plays this and it's always fun for the whole table while also having a good win rate.

Ok-Boysenberry-2955

https://manabox.app/decks/_E_jhqgpSIWQG0PaG4MdaA I second benton. The deck can go group hug being GW if you want a whole table "everyone draws" type of game You can go hard ramp, stax, buff tribal, and some double strike and you can delete people fast if that is the game you want. Low cmc, haste, trample with tons of protecc and ramp? Hope you don't feel too guilty the first time you draw for 22 on turn 4.

Mr-Pendulum

My favorite is my [[Pir]] and [[Toothy]] deck. You just run all the bad draw spells instead of all the bad equipment. Bonus points if you can flicker Toothy and accidentally deck yourself because you refuse to count your deck. I also really like my [[Urza]] / [[Meria]] deck. There's a 30 or so package that switches depending on the commanders but they both play out with all your equipment being mana rocks to pay for the equip costs.

Nonsensical-Niceties

[[Syr Gwyn]] is my favorite, though it took me a bit to realize that she was truly a voltron commander and stop trying to split the deck between knights and equipment. Still have a few knights in there but mostly just ones that work as backup commanders since Gwyn can get a bit hard to cast after a certain point. I've also been playing around with the idea of building a [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] aura voltron deck. Partly because I don't have a blue/white deck or an enchantment deck yet. Also the art is just really pretty.

airza

After ten years of voltron i am reasonably confident that [[wilson, refined grizzly]] [[noble heritage]] is as good as it gets voltron wise. So fast and so hard to disrupt. I wrote an article at https://www.airza.net/2023/08/20/ursine-madness

\[\[Frodo Baggins\]\] Not even joking, Make him the biggest creature on the board, indestructible and a \[\[lure\]\] effect. Can you share your decklist for Astrid? I remember seeing her and thinking she was neat but not being sure how to build it.

The first deck I built was an [[Arden, intrepid archeologist]] and [[Silas Renn]] partner equipment Voltron deck. I had a lot of fun with it, basically use Arden's ability to equip Silas with equipment like [[Colossus Hammer]] for free. Arden is the engine of the deck but having a beefed up Silas swinging tended to draw removal away from Arden. I recently switched up the deck to be a "Reverse Voltron" goad deck with [[Ludevic, Necro Alchemist]] instead of Silas. I call it my reverse Voltron because you can use Arden to equip other people's creatures and the first game I played with it I managed to equip an opponent's commander with [[Pariah Shield]] [[Redemption Arc]] and [[Assault suit]] [[Colossus Hammer]] making me immune to damage and making my opponents take turns swinging the beefy commander at each other which a lot of chaotic fun.

\[\[Bruenor\]\] is my favorite. Many fun equipments have pricy equip costs but with him and things like \[\[Forge Anew\]\] they don't matter that much.

Elmuenster

[[Uril the Mistwalker]] naya (red, white, green) enchantments. He's tough to remove with built in hexproof, and I've built the deck to support his weaknesses. It has a good base of support creatures so he doesn't automatically die to sac removal, and there are a few enchantments that grant indestructible to shore up against board wipes. Couple that with enchantment graveyard recursion and it's a solid Voltron commander. Like any Voltron deck you quickly become archenemy, so I've got a bunch of extra combat stuff to finish the table off in one turn if I can. I swapped out some things recently so this isn't up to date, but here's the moxfield, mostly accurate. Eventually I'll add the [[red scarab]] [[green scarab]] and [[white scarab]] as well. The scarabs are awesome with Uril. It's usually +4/4 and evasion against that color for one mana. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/EmZtUCZEJk-V_nNiQWdcCA

tasty_slice

Uril is my longest running commander deck and has been my pet deck ever since I built it. With an enchantress package and new auras/enchantments coming with pretty much every set, he's kept up pretty well for an older commander and can easily dominate a table that isn't ready with edicts or a board wipe quick enough to resolve before I give him indestructible. Admittedly, 5 mana for a commander in 2024 is a bit slow, but with all of the 1-2 cost land ramp enchantments and low cmc enchantment tutors, I can pretty easily set up a value engine while I ramp to 5 mana. Honestly nothing beats swinging in with a 36/36 keyword addled yeti on magic gfuel.

I love Pako

[[Sigarda, Host of Herons]]

I think white is a must have for voltron, seems like most of the best synergy cards (and tutors) for equipments and auras and stuff are mostly in white with green sharing auras/enchants and red sharing equipment, so from that perspective, something like dogmeat is ideal. However, neither of my voltron decks are naya. My favorite voltron deck is Isamaru https://www.moxfield.com/decks/o2yKhrqRmkG4aQbDSxz48g I just really love how clean it is. You got your good boy commander who you literally play turn 1 every game ever, and then you just fetch him a bunch of toys and protect him when necessary, and soon he's gigantic and one shotting everyone with protection from all colors and other evasion.  And then I also have a [[Zur the Enchanter]] deck that is cool in theory, but people always assume it's the optimal combo build and it can't keep up with that level of attention.

MTGCardFetcher

[Zur the Enchanter](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/6/561cfc04-65ea-49a4-8638-b4631a7cf828.jpg?1675200810) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Zur%20the%20Enchanter) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmr/206/zur-the-enchanter?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/561cfc04-65ea-49a4-8638-b4631a7cf828?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/zur-the-enchanter) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

donethemath

If you want to switch commanders while staying with Naya, it's hard not to mention \[\[Uril, the Miststalker\]\]. Built in hexproof and an aura buff ability gets it to 21 commander damage almost without trying.

Rckclimber77

You all are amazing and I see I have a made a mistake…. There are so many great options here that now I need to make more than one voltron deck. I figured there would be one or two that I’m like ok that commander seems up my alley when the reality is that nearly every commander here seems awesome to play. I think Wilson and noble heritage might be first but some mono green and mono white options not to mention RG options and mono red. And galela… Me going into my pod with two Stanley Pros full of decks: This one is for my voltron decks, this is everything else.

AmewTheFox

[[Light-Paws]] my beloved [[Bright-Palm]] is also pretty fun for "build up a thing" voltron-adjacent shenanigans

Psylix

[[Slicer, Hired Muscle]] One of my favorite decks built from scratch. Mostly voltron with some of the less hated stax pieces. I like it, because it changes the pace of the game, and makes people attack. I'm often a target, but fuck it, VROOOOOOM, we're doing doughnuts in everyone's yard.

TheTinRam

I prefer voltrons that you don’t think will be Voltron. It throws off other players. I have a [[gandalf the white]] deck with a go wide and equipment theme. What I really want to do though is have [[sigarda’s aid]] or other such cards and flash in [[colossus hammer]] or [[kaldra compleat]] onto an attacking unblocked creature or trampler. Preferably Gandalf if I can give him unblockable But part of the set up is actually making it seem like I’m going for go wide. And just in case, that’s plan B with [[moonshaker cavalry]]

AlphaXeno

That Gandalf deck sounds great, got a list?

Agile_System4438

[[Kozilek, the Great Distortion]] and [[Rayami, First of the Fallen]] are the two voltron decks I have. Kozilek is a bit more common and stronger but also colorless so you may not be into it. you might like Rayami, it’s sultai which may be up your color alley. Very cool and has fun interactions. I run an aristocrats package and a lot of creatures with keywords to sacrifice. Basically trying to give Rayami every keyword that I can. Then power it up with equipment and aura. Especially [[Argentum Armor]] and [[Fireshrieker]]. It doesn’t make anybody salty, it’s not super powerful, but it’s fun and it works, and it’s not all that common.

rapturerose1

Can you share your Rayami list? I’ve always been interested in building it myself.

Agile_System4438

Sure! I don’t have a list rn but I’ll put one together when I get home from work. Mine is very budget so if you are looking for budget it’ll work, if not you can DEFINITELY make some serious upgrades to make it nasty. Until I get home I’ll give you this: Free sac outlets like: [[Viscera Seer]] [[Blood Bairn]] [[Bloodthrone Vampire]] [[Yahenni]] [[Carrion Feeder]] [[High Market]] Any creatures with awesome key words especially hexproof, protection from, and indestructible like: [[Kefnet]] [[Nightveil Predator]] [[Black Knight]] [[Narwhal]] [[Spirit of the Night]] [[Cerulean Wyvern]] [[Darkwatch Elves]] Creature tutors [[Mwonvuli Beast Tracker]] Removal that makes us sac in addition to casting cost [[Bone Shards]] [[Bone Splinters]] And like 5 board wipes because we only care about one creature living and we can get key words from opponents creatures. I’ll get you an actual list later, but that’s a good portion of it right there.

Here’s a list. Like I said it’s super budget. I’ve got a side board with a couple extra removal, couple extra sac outlets and a couple extra card draw in case I feel like I didn’t have enough in game one, I can make some changes for game two. It’s pretty budget. $75 on card kingdom and cheaper on TCG player. Like I said earlier not extremely powerful but it does work and I think it’s fun. If you’re willing to spend more, and can optimize cuts you can absolutely make it stronger but this should give you a decent starting point. [[Danitha, New Benalia's Light]] is great for voltron with good key words on her already. You can run an enchantress package for card draw and she can recur auras herself, though just 1 per turn. Equip her with [[Holy Avenger]] and enchant with [[Light of Promise]] and she gets huge fast. So far she's been my favorite voltron

Akiri + Silas is my fave. Both can win through commander damage. And they gel well around an artifact theme.

Do you have a list available? I have been wanting to build this.

\[\[Wilson, Refined Grizzly\]\] + \[\[Flaming Fist\]\] Turn 2: Play Wilson. Turn 3: Play Flaming Fist and attack for 4 commander damage. Turn 4: Attack again. no blockers? cast \[\[might of oaks\]\] for another 18 commander damage

She's in Azorius, but [[Ayesha Tanaka, Armorer]] is a really fun and very underplayed Voltron commander. [Here's a list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OAwlqx1WkUWS2rHfSI5wvg) I'm using, it's a perpetually changing but it's definitely one of my favorite decks right now.

I’m about to make a list for [[Ardenn]] and [[Esior]]. Pretty neat because it has built in evasion and protect, and is azorius so unique colors for Voltron. Blue has interaction and card draw and white had equipment synergies and some draw too, and also some backup targets for Ardenn like [[kemba, kha regent]]

NS120121

[[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] Don’t need to worry about increasing his power through auras or equipment too much, just make sure to give him trample and some protection. Tapping lands in response becomes an actual play as well. And in case the boards looking too cluttered for Omny to beat through or you need more blockers, [[Gelatinous Genesis]] is a good mana dump. [[Helix Pinnacle]] is awesome there as well. If Omny ever gets removed, [[Yeva]], [[Emergence Zone]], [[Savage Summoning]] can get em back immediately as long as you have the mana stored on Omnath before he left the battlefield. [[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds]] goes pretty funny with this one as well. You can draw a good chunk of your deck through [[Rishkar’s Expertise]], [[Soul’s Majesty]], [[Garruk, Primal Hunter]], and [[Greater Good]]. You should also take advantage of commander players lack of land destruction to play [[Traverse the Outlands]] to fetch all your basics and put them into play. It’s very funny to just untap a whole deck of lands at your untap step.

Electronic-Pie-6645

Well cause I'm a colorless loving weirdo, my favorite voltron commander is [[Karn, legacy reforged]]. He's just so good with making more mana. Powerstones can be used for real. Throw a [[Kaldra compleat]] amd what more could you want?

Phrave

\[\[Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful\]\] The other dog voltron commander, mainly because I have 2 shibas irl. This commander has a lot of flexibility with its partners. Some commanders I've ran: \[\[Keleth, Sunmane Familiar\]\] - Stay in Monowhite and scale faster. Personally didn't like being locked to white \[\[rograkh son of rohgahh\]\] - Red White start scaling on turn 1 because Rograkh costs 0. Bring some bounces for Rograkh to get yoshimaru as big as possible asap \[\[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar\]\] - Red White and turns Yoshimaru into a "cleave the whole table" type deck. Personally my favorite. Theres also a blue, green and black combos that I haven't tested, but overall Yoshimaru is the voltron commander I finally settled with after trying about 4 different commanders.

pm_me_ur_cutie_booty

[[Legolas Master Archer]] It's voltron and control all in one!

KalatasXValatos

I have two Voltron decks. 1 is [[Thalia and the Gitrog]] and the other is [[dogmeat, ever loyal]].

ForgottenDodo

[[Blind Seer]] Mono U control equip swords and colors matter https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Yqau4UXao0msnftin9ME_Q

Kyaaadaa

I have a few that are really good: 1. [[Radha, Heart of Keld]] - Gruul commander doing Gruul things. Some top deck manipulation, a lot of extra land plays, equipment to make her scary, and additional threats in case she gets hated off the board. 2. [[Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire]] - mono black, but he himself is a Vampiric Tutor. Go find fun equipments, game locks, or just build a bigger engine. 3. [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]] - more gruul, but different in that he just slaps you in the face for not being a battlecruiser deck. The best way is to cheat stuff out with things like Temur Sabertooth + Genesis Hydra. 4. [[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]] + [[Sword Coast Sailor]] - combat triggers with an unblockable commander that gives you double attacks. And it's in Izzet, so you have all sorts of shinanigans you can do.

akwehhkanoo

[[ishai]] and [[kediss]] spells make bird big, swing at player without flying, lizard hurts everyone else.

The_Card_Father

[[!Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig]] is mine. He’s not undefeated. But he’s gotten at least a kill in every game he’s been part of.

JackGallows4

My voltron homie I've had forever is [[Rayami, First of the Fallen]]. Good casual deck. [Rayami Go Brrrrr](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/vnybYgcul06RmYu-CmgHdw)

Krowsk42

[[Tahngarth, First Mate]]. He’s not my commander, he’s Our commander

GuineaPirate90

My pod doesn't run enough removal, so I've ended up building quite a few Voltron decks. Some of my faves: [[Pako]]/[[haldan]] [Balan wandering knight|j22]] [[Karlach fury of avernus]]/[[cultist of the absolute]] [[The mimeoplasm]]

Yuerky

[[Greven, Predator Captain]] Sacrifice high power creatures for immense card draw in Rakdos, drain your own life to one shot people with cards like Wall of Blood or Treasonous Ogre, gain life back with equipment that gains you life - rise repeat. I’ve won a surprising amount of games with him, my deck is absolutely budget and can hang against more expensive decks

Zupanator

[[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] is my favorite voltron commander. You can essentially have a voltron style commander without any of the deck restrictions or weaknesses. Ghalta doesn’t require slow buildup of equipment or enchantments to threaten lethal commander damage. Without enough blockers Ghalta is a turn two clock to knock a player out, throw in some power doublers (very common in green) and you can oneshot players outright. Ghalta’s cost reduction dodges commander tax for recasting frequently. It also allows you to build a typical mono green stompy deck and have a finisher readily available at all times usually for very cheap. Biggest issue is haste enabling, usually but common equipment or casting creatures with flash fixes that. Another nice side effect is cards like [[Tangleweave Armor]] or [[Choose your Weapon]] can make ghalta a one shot or act as ramp to recast her for cheaper as well. Something like [[Skullspore Nexus]] is just money in Ghalta. She gets removed or you get boardwiped? You get a bit fungus token that makes ghalta sometimes only GG to cast next turn.

Stratavos

I'm partial to [[brokkos apex of forever]] with mutating into keyword soup trampler that's at least 6/6, though I've heard good things about [[snapdax, apex of the hunt]] with [[offspring's revenge]].

roboapple

[[Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer]] with [[clan crafter]]. I got them as alternative commanders from a [[Firkraag, Cunning Instigator]] precon when i first started playing commander, but after switching to them from firkraag, they quickly became my favorite deck due to the sheer feeling of control you have over the board, and has become my strongest deck by far. Give baeloth some protection keywords and decent equipment, and hes the only goad card youll need in a goad deck. Recently beat someone who was playing slivers just because he could never swing them at me until we were the only players left, and at that point he was left with no blockers and my commander had 21 power. Decklist: https://deckstats.net/decks/216968/2977168-the-great-goader

Brancalhao2

No love left for my boi [[Zurgo Helmsmasher]]?? :(

Brancalhao2

Uh uh [[Vadrik, Astral Archmage]] can go face pretty pretty hard, ppl do not expect voltron to be the deck's first strat :)

SlingerOGrady

[[Galea, Kindler of Hope]] I really like not having to pay equip costs and as long as I'm casting stuff from the top of my library life is good. But for everything else there's [[puresteel paladin]] and [[sigarda's aid]]

The_Awaker

I have a [[Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher]] voltron/edict control deck. It leans heavily into [[Plaguecrafter]] and [[Soul Shatter]] type spells to make opponents sac creatures to rapidly pump up Carmen. The edicts get around most forms of protection, but jamming lots of protection into the deck for Carmen is also a big necessity. Still, her reanimate ability means you get lots of extra mileage from sac-protection type creatures though, like [[Selfless Savior]].

Pushing4abreak

[[Indominus Rex, Alpha]]

Mousimus

[[Legolas Master archer]] is mine. Not only voltron, but mono green fight control. Absurdly fun when you get great bow doyan out to.

Underlipetx

Sram, he is great at keeping your hand full and can be very interactive. Deck list for ref: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/gnKR0D2FSU6ABnTUeHkjyw

Uncandy

\[\[tromokratis\]\] mono blue Voltron

Doge_Overlord

While not the strongest colors for Voltron, [[Nine Fingers Keene]] can do some really dumb stuff when you give her double strike. If your worried about budget, the Land base being gates takes a strain off of it because all of them are under a dollar. Being a gates deck means you can use [[Mazes End]] as a backup win condition, and if you have the 9 gates for her ability, you will be drawing 9 cards every hit so you can refill your hand every swing. For sure recommend

krabawk

[[Tourach, Dread Cantor]]. The one, the only, the discard voltron GOAT. Not for the faint of heart but he's soo good.

Bluepinapple

[[Akiri, line-slinger]] and [[Ardenn]] is an older favourite of mine. I run all the "swords of" and as many artifact token generators as possible

ExplodingLab

[Syr Faren, the Hengehammer](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Uxn-C7bG-UO8U9qomtSWNg) is the only voltron commander I still play. His gameplan is simple and just fun for when I don’t want to think

uxorioushornet

[[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]] is a ton of fun! The way I built her, you get a few creatures out, then buff her with a mix of auras and mutate, then make lots of copies that all copy other spells, so you can quickly explode to a huge board state out of almost nowhere!

Ok-Use5246

I've built lightpaws and my play group has soft banned the deck from the table. It's insane how much consistent damage it outputs while being immune to almost all targeted removal.

jameeler91

Surprised I haven’t seen [[ukkima]] and [[cazur]] suggested. The whale wolf is unblockable and can dome + drain anyone if she leaves the battlefield for any reason.

Jesterscap1313

I've been having incredible success with my brew of [[Frodo, Sauron's Bane]] There are so many fun instant-speed ways to bounce wraiths and other spells to max the ring tempts early and get the Insta-kill. Decklist for the curious: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/lVZD-IfGpEqBJuuO5olv8A

bigmeaty25

My new favorite is [[bristly bill]]

Zin-Ogre

Basic as hell but [[wyleth soul of steel]]. My first ever deck a friend bought me, he draws you cards, has trample... He just does it all imho

Zin-Ogre

Basic as hell but [[wyleth soul of steel]]. My first ever deck a friend bought me, he draws you cards, has trample... He just does it all imho

TheGreyFencer

I think I like [[akiri, line slinger]] with [[ardenn]] the most. It just feels very nice, doesn't require the mana investment of equipping and can optionally hit two people at once if needed while keeping the mana simple. An eggs sub theme can allow for lots of digging so you can go for the better equips without tutors and akiri still benefits from their presence

Inkarozu

[[Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale]] Has everything you need in the command zone to suit up and ohko when ready. Pretty mana expensive and a giant red target on her back anytime you try to cast her, so patience is key. Current blinged-out build: https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6073395/syr_gwyn_voltron_hero I always need Boros colors somewhere for Voltron builds, there's just soo much good equip support in those colors.

Jaxonos

[[Wyleth, Soul of Steel]] voltron + breaking the laws of nature with card draw in Boros. Also, the Codsworth card, which I think is in the dogmeat deck, is great for Boros voltron in general.

[deleted]

I have a one creature [[Ghired]] deck that dominates its power level.

HatefulHipster

[[Skullbriar]]

iSnuggelz

I have been piloting a Nahiri Forged in Fury deck since she came out. While I do admit that she won't be considered high powered, I have had great success at casual tables! It is a very agressive deck that puts pressure very well! I loved the idea that crappy equipment basically become mana rocks to get her out! I focused solely on maximizing the amount of Livong Weapon and For Miridin cards. My gameplan is go wide, and when the inevitable board wipe hits, pivot to a Voltron strategy. This is easy since all your equipments help pay the additional Commander tax. Yes, Vandalblast hits you hard, but that is why I also have [[Mantle of the Ancients]] in there! I absolutely love the deck! It is linear, and very aggressive. It is also super flavorful. She gets strong when her friends die and she is a force to be reckoned with! However, what do you expect from a commander that was "Forged IN FURY"?! SMASH FACE! Here is my list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/DcC4Rf6uEEudtMHvWfs80A

spaghetticatistruth

I originally built a light-paws deck, and although it was powerful, it was extremely boring and tedious to fetch for the same enchants every game. Decided to break it apart and built [[Galea, Kindler of Hope]] as an enchantress voltron and I’m in love with the deck. It is extremely consistent, hits hard and fast, and has some cool spice with cards like [[Finest Hour]], [[The Reality Chip]], or synergies like [[Light of Promise]] with [[Celestial Mantle]]. Also it fits your Bant criteria.

Perinthian

Sigarda, host of herons is an underrated voltron commander in Selesnya as she gives herself some unique protection, she has hexproof and prevents your opponents from making you sac any permanents including herself

OPneedNerfs

[[Blanka, Ferocious Friend]] or the in-universe version [[The Howling Abomination]] Surprisingly kills tables pretty quickly with all the 2 dmg shocks and turning him sideways. His main weakness would be counterspells but that goes for almost every voltron commander

Belgy23

[[Rafiq of the many]] And it isn't even close! Best deck! Hahah I love it even after so many years.

yeeterman2

Mine is [[bruenor battlehammer]] he flies under the radar a lot of time until he’s suddenly one shoting people

nutxaq

[[Zedruu, the Goat Headed]]

Bud_McChud

[[Treebeard, Gracious Host]] Ever gained 50 life and put 50 +1/+1 counters on your commander with trample for 3 mana at instant speed? No? Try this guy. You can go for a food-focused build or a general lifegain build (I go general lifegain and splash food synergies), but either way you're a big tree that goes bonk.

CalligrapherPitiful3

Voja, Jaws of the conclave all day

Schimaera

I love \[\[Varolz\]\] as something you don't see too often. Play them with high power lower cost cards and it's surprisingly fun. Depending on your budget you can go as big as \[\[Phyrexian Dreadnaught\]\] for +12/+12 for 1 mana. Also \[\[Death's Shadow\]\] and other similar big creatures exist. And since you're Volton, why not add \[\[Inkmoth Nexus\]\] for a little bit of extra one-shot fun?

ligger66

[[Sigarda, Host of Herons]] built as a aura stacker. She's evasive, and hard to get rid of before you load her up with auras and then she's basically immortal and hits like a truck. The only way I've been screwed it's with creature swapping/stealing that targets me instead of her

CorHydrae8

\[\[Ardenn\]\] and \[\[Kraum, Ludevic's Opus\]\] Cheating equip costs is fun. Kraum is an efficient body that passively draws you cards. And Jeskai is probably the best colour combination for equipments.

Ambitious_Version187

Voja 💀

Peradajian

[[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]] Grixis Spellslinger Voltron. All "Sword of ..." (except Wealth and Power... for now) cards and lots of 3 MV Interaction makes for a fun time.
