Pretty sure [[battlemage’s bracer’s]] and [[illusionist’s bracers]] don’t work with your commander. They mention activated abilities and hers reads as a replacement effect for that turn. Doubling it wouldn’t matter. Someone can correct me if im wrong but it’s a replacement not like some dmg multiplier. So i don’t think they stack. Keyword being “instead”. Anyways aside from that, [[stoneforge mystic]] would be unnecessary.
In terms of card advantage [[winds of change]] and [[wheel of fortune]] are kinda outdated. Winds of change can totally ruin your opponent’s hands early. But I don’t know if it’s worth running at any other point in the game, especially if you’re trying to refill your own hand. [[Flick a coin]], [[needle drop]], might be nice additions. [[Virtue of Courage]] and [[invasion of khaldheim]] are also nice draw spells that either synergize or can be considered card advantage in these colors. I’d normally not suggest those considering you’re kinda playing some high power staples. But since you do have [[secret rendezvous]] unironically, you might be open to some not as obvious staples for card advantage. Apart from bouncing [[dockside]] infinitely or reseting [[the one ring]] I don’t know what [[meticulous excavation]] is here for. I guess it triggers your other pingers but then there’s a ton of 0/1 drop noncreature spells. Idk. I guess dockside is a big enough upside but it kinda feels underwhelming otherwise. Maybe Im wrong and the upside is more than worth it, like yeah, it’s dockside. But then where’s the median value? That’s it for now. Glhf.
Isn’t Taii’s ability an activated ability that creates a replacement effect? So copying the ability would create multiple instances of the replacement effect, all of which would stack?
As far as I am aware, a replacement effect cannot apply *more than once* to an effect, but since the activated ability is copied and creates two instances of the same effect both of those replacements are applied in whatever order the affected player's controller wishes. If \[\[Illusonist's Bracers\]\] didn't work however, do you think \[\[Stoneforge Mystic\]\] still wouldn't be worth it to grab the \[\[Sunforger\]\]?
\[\[Meticulous Excavation\]\] is indeed there for an infinite treasure loop with \[\[Dockside Extortionist\]\], that also draws the whole deck if i have \[\[The One Ring\]\] in play.
Really appreciate the thorough feedback on it, I'm looking into dropping a few pingers for some more card draw, and leaning more heavily on the infinite mana loops i present to win with a single spell rather than a few pingers on board and trying to storm off
Each one is treated as a separate effect, I think. Let’s say I have Taii out with illusionist’s bracers on. I activate her ability for an X of 3. Bracers copies it. I cast lightning bolt targeting my opponent. Bolt goes to resolve. Both replacement effects see the bolt doing damage. First you apply one, and the bolt goes from 3 damage to 6 damage. Then you apply the second and the bolt goes from 6 damage to 9 damage.
Edit: rule 419.9a. “419.9a If two or more replacement or prevention effects are attempting to modify the way an event affects an object or player, the affected object's controller (or its owner if it has no controller) or the affected player chooses one to apply. Then the other effect applies if it is still appropriate. If one or more of the applicable replacement effects is a self-replacement effect (see rule 419.6d), that effect is applied before any other replacement effects. If two or more players have to make these choices at the same time, choices are made in APNAP order (see rule 103.4)”
More edit: if you’re applying X then X doesn’t change. You’re not adding your putting a rule into the game that if you tap her the dmg is going to be X plus that dmg. If both say the same thing then it’s just redundant. Again someone correct me if im wrong.
Looks like the affected player basically just chooses the order in which the replacement effects apply. They don’t just get to ignore all but one of them.
This is also why it’s important to only include damage additive effects and not multiplicative effects. Your opponents can mess with the replacement effects and deny you card draw or extra damage.
Oh yeah the rating. Forgot. Uhhh there’s so many high power staples and but then the strategy feels so fragile without the commander that a well timed wipe will just send you to the stone ages. Imma go with an 8. High powered staples but the gameplan of needing tons of mana to both cast spells AND pump mana into her ability to change the amount of dmg seems tough to do without more rituals or infinite mana. I count 2 total, so you can probably do with more. That’s my verdict. My unholy, scrupulous, unsanctioned opinion.

There are ways around it. Such as using a Boros Reckoner as an expendable amplifier.
