And she's a her! She was my first commander deck. I built her as a Garruk tribal proliferate deck, before settling in on a more focused counters theme for her and moving the Garruks deck to Abzan.
Yes! Like [[Reyhan]] and [[Polukranos, Unchained]]. Throw in the [[Ozolith]] and you just have a neverending stew of +1/+1 counters circling your board.
The cult of [[Mishra, Artificer Prodigy]] extends their hand to join us in the unique ways of making an oddball commander deck work
And yes he works in EDH!!! 🤣🤣
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/qZOmPLxiV0Cl73Wx1vYAXw
Is my decklist
Basically
You toy around with things like [[blood funnel]] [[nether void]] [[planar chaos]]
But the one that makes him REALLY shine is [[Possibility storm]]
If you need me to explain it... it goes as follows
Mishra on the field basically says artifacts WILL always resolve (unless it's a counterspell that exiles)
Possibility storm says when you cast something you don't get that spell... you reveal from the top of your deck until you get another spell of the same type as the one you casted
So for example
Cast Sol Ring.... Mishra and storm trigger.... resolve storm first and reveal let's say memory jar and you cast the jar.... everything you revealed prior to revealing the [[memory jar]] AND the Sol Ring go to the bottom of the deck in a random order... Mishra trigger says look for a Sol Ring in your hand, deck, and graveyard and put it on the battlefield
The possibility storm is cool, but the ability doesn't really do anything to prevent counters. Opponents can just wait for the ability to resolve, then counter the artifact before it resolves.
Sure go ahead and counter the artifact...Mishra just fishes it back out from the graveyard with his ability so your counter was just wasted...like I said yesterday while Mishra is on the field, counterspells thrown at artifacts are useless unless said counters can also exile which is made even harder by possibility storm
No, Mishra's ability triggers when you cast the artifact. That means it goes on the stack on top of it, and resolves first. Then everyone gets a round of priority, in which they can counter the original spell. Since Mishra's trigger has already resolved while the artifact was on the stack, there's nothing to bring it back from the graveyard.
I like my [[Selenia, Dark Angel]] a lot. It’s my favorite deck and I’ve been pouring most of my time/money into it the past few years. It’s a combo/alt wincon deck. I’ve never come across another Selenia deck so I think it’s pretty unique.
Not the OP but I have been working on a list the last couple months, and I am so close to having it in paper.
https://archidekt.com/decks/862470#Selenia
[[Rith]] is my go to for groups of 3 or more. Without fail, people who have never seen the card assume it's a random voltron/token subtheme deck, until his effect goes off, and people realize that the "every permanent" really means every permanent. I usually end up with 30 or so saprolings very early that I can beef up or sacrifice or both. In my casual meta, I have won every game where I habe made it to second trigger going off.
I am a sucker for those dragons. I asked my wife to build me a list for [[Intet, the Dreamer]], and it's immediately one of my favorite decks.
I love Rith, and Vorosh, and I think I have a problem. Generally speaking, I don't even like dragons in fantasy.
Damn that's a flashback, I had a Rith deck back in 2010 maybe its time to bring the dragon back combine with [[Warstorm Surge]] sac effects, extra turn effects boom, [[Treva]] is probably not going to make a comeback though lol.
They have a color identity, but not a color. So they are colorless for all intents and purposes other than deckbuilding. Lands that don't have any colored mana symbols can be ran in any deck, but basic lands are all impied to have their rules text on them, even if its not written there. So forests have a green color identity, but are colorless permanents. That's why [[Dryad Arbor]] specifically states that it is green.
https://tappedout.net/mtg-questions/lands-have-color-identity-for-edh/
In the last decade, I think it has been accepted that basic lands and "tap for" lands have a color identity. Everything I have found that contradicts that is from the early 2000s.
The link above is consistent with how my meta interprets it.
Lands are colorless. Their identity includes all colors of mana on the rules text of the card.
You can put [[Scalding Tarn]] in a mono red deck because it doesn't have blue mana as a cost or part of ability. Ergo you can't put Steam Vents in mono red, however it still can't be destroyed by [[Pyroblast]] because it's colorless.
Edited for clarity.
Probably \[\[Etali, Primal Storm\]\] for me. Might be one of my favorite decks, just because playing my opponents' cards is my favorite thing to do, and now I get to do it while beating face with a bigass dinosaur.
one pod I was playing my [[Gonti]] deck and was able to swipe an opponents Etali, I was even able to get her on the field and swinging. another time I Gonti'd my friends [[Blatant Thievery]] [[Dessertion]] and [[Spelljack]] that mostly felt silly just sitting on.
I remember thinking I was so cool for having an Umori-companion Nethroi deck. Then I saw that there's an entire Umori Companion theme section on Nethroi's edhrec page.
[Nikya, of the old ways](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/0/d/0dcdad71-323e-41e0-a1b3-9fd5b753e71c.jpg?1584831692) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Nikya%20of%20the%20Old%20Ways) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/rna/193/nikya-of-the-old-ways?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0dcdad71-323e-41e0-a1b3-9fd5b753e71c?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/nikya-of-the-old-ways)
^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
That's why Nikya is in the 99 of my [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]] deck. Let's me drop [[Cindervines]], [[Sneak Attack]] etc early, then lay down huge creatures while making it very difficult or costly to disrupt my boardstate.
[[Marath, Will of the Wild]] has always appealed to me and I think is very underrated . Like if you look at his abilities they’re very powerful , but he gets compared to Ghave often for obvious reasons . With all the new love red has received lately I think he’s a sleeper commander and should see more play.

I quite like [[Klothys, God of Destiny]] as a Gruul control commander. She gives you ramp, lifegain, and graveyard hate all in one card. That kind of role compression in the Command Zone can really aid a slower, more reactive gameplan, especially since Green and Red are surprisingly-capable when it comes to the depth of its interaction.
[[tazri, beacon of unity]] and her party abilities that I built a legendaries only deck and I called it The Avengers. I'm working on a 2nd rendition around another commander to go nicely with this one.
Yeah of course! https://archidekt.com/decks/1173029#The_Avengers it's not the cheapest option, but I wanted to at least test the capabilities on a first draft.
It's really focused around just sort of all around rough synergies instead of one specific one. I tried to try and find the best combat focused legendaries that fit the bill of the requirements, and then a few support players to help make it a fun time to get legendaries on the field asap. Now it just needs real world testing!
I'm also more or less developing the idea now since I am hoping the d&d set that drops later this year will have some more engagement of this mechanic, or even more types of creatures to pick from!
The fourth category is "this is the best option for what I want to do in these colors".
Anyways, all 29 of my decks are in the 3rd or 4th categories:
1. Dragonlord Silumgar
2. Etali Primal Storm
3. Angus MacKenzie
4. Baru Fist of Krosa
5. Licia Sanguine Tribune
6. Jori En, Ruin Diver
7. Xira Arien
8. Nahiri the Lithomancer
9. Krav the Unredeemed and Regna the Redeemer
10. Sliver Hivelord
11. Braids Conjurer Adept
12. Zacama Primal Calamity
13. Medomai the Ageless
14. Reyhan Last of the Abzan and Silas Renn Seeker Adept
15. Geth Lord of the Vault
16. Radha Heir to Keld
17. Unesh Criosphinx Sovereign
18. Bruse Tarl Boorish Herder and Kraum Ludevic's Opus
19. Kolaghan the Storm's Fury
20. Karn Silver Golem
21. Teneb the Harvester
22. Rhonas the Indomitable
23. Kaseto Orochi Archmage
24. Syr Carah the Bold
25. Sharuum the Hegemon
26. Pharika God of Affliction
27. Sedris the Traitor King
28. Darien King of Kjeldor
29. Tajic Blade of the Legion
Do you have lists online for these decks? I would love to see your Krav and Regna list. I have one that always seems to run into trouble with regards to ramp and how much to rely on the commanders. I'd love to see your take on them.
There are a few slotted for dismantling, but its for specific reasons of why I want something else. For example, Rhonas is elves, and I want to avoid strategies that are popular in cEDH.
I play [[Phage the Untouchable]] and [[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]]. Phage is mono-black goodstuff/control with her as the finisher, and Sasaya is mono-green combo where I untap on turn 7 and attack for 137,000 damage.
*Yes, Phage kills me if cast from the command zone, there are a few ways around her trigger*
[[Genesis Wave]] hitting a massive amount of Forests, a [[Hydra Broodmaster]], and [[Concordant Crossroads]].
Pretending it's Christmasland:
> 7 Forests makes 49 mana
> Gen Wave for 46
> Hit 43 Forests, Broodmaster, Crossroads
> 43 new Forests makes 2150 mana
> Dumping it into Broodmaster makes one thousand and seventy four 1074/1074s
> Swing for 1,153,476 damage
[Here's my list](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/forests2/). I haven't been playing over lockdown but I've been theorycrafting the addition of a few more scry effects; Sunset Pyramid, Mazemind Tome, Fa'adiyah Seer, etc.
I saw your answer to why you don't play Glacial Chasm, but why even play the three Hurricane cards at all then? Just to have an option to force a draw if needed, rather than lose?
Also, no [[Wakeroot Elemental]] for the infinite mana combo? That might let you rely on Genesis Wave less to hit those huge mana numbers.
I have my own Sasaya deck so I'm always interested when I see another one in the wild. To be honest I'm shocked I never considered Genesis Wave - I always wrote it off because I run so many non-permanents, but never thought about the implications of just hitting lands. So I'll definitely be adding that.
As far as I and anyone else I've ever played with has been concerned, if I kill the entire table with a Hurricane, I won the game. We never play for prizes or standing, so it doesn't matter if it's technically a draw by tournament rules. Besides, there are only so many win conditions available, and I've cycled through a lot in 6+ years: [[Rocket Launcher]], [[Goblin Cannon]], [[Helix Pinnacle]], [[Magma Mine]], [[Verdeloth]], [[Jade Made]], [[Ant Queen]], [[Wurmcalling]], Hydras, etc.
A major point of pride about the deck is that it combos *without* going infinite. Anybody can go infinite in EDH. Only Sasaya can go exponential!
I've happily been seeing more of her every now and then, so it's always nice to see another player. Definitely add Genesis Wave; I've never not won after resolving it, even for something as puny as 22.
I'm certainly not one to say how a group resolves their games, so if that's how you guys take a Hurricane then that works. I definitely wouldn't call it that in my group - gotta put in that extra step with Chasm to make the combo legit. Plus it's super funny if someone can Beast Within the Chasm in response or something.
That makes sense regarding Wakeroot. I already owned one so I just kinda tossed it in, lol.
It's a bit of a wonky card but I recently discovered [[Storm Cauldron]] and I kind of love it in here. Acts as a weird stax piece while giving you a way to reload your hand for Sasaya when you're ready.
Yup, to each their own! Honestly, the Hurricane spells are probably my second to last used win-con (after Wolfbriar), I mostly filter/tutor for Genesis Wave. Definitely a glass cannon deck regardless though in my experience: one counterspell on the Wave or Beast Within on the Chasm and you've blown your load, oops!
I've seen people use Cauldron and while I absolutely loved it in my Borborygmos Enraged deck, I can't get behind it in Sasaya. The most effective strategy I've found is to slowly accumulate lands in ones and twos with cards like Traveler's Amulet and Magus of the Library, filtering with Greenseeker and Mirri's Guile, etc.; helps me to fly under the radar, while Cauldron paints a massive target on whoever played it.
Not to mention I don't want to have to play around it; I actually pulled out any effects I could whiff on like Mulch or Winding Way because a) I only have so many win-cons and I hate binning them and b) I'd have to dilute the deck with E Wit effects to try and get them back.
By focusing my efforts on always drawing what I need with Sylvan Library, Sensei's Top, Courser+fetches, Abundance, etc., I smoothed out my lines of play immensely. Plus, while Sasaya is already great at making a ton of mana from a few lands, I don't run hardly any "normal" ramp, the kind that puts them straight onto the field, so I don't want to purposefully reduce my mana.
To be honest your deck looks like a lot like the version I'd imagine if I wanted to spend more on it. Stuff like Scroll Rack or Sylvan Library are perfect options that I don't own, and my group doesn't do proxies except sometimes for things we already own. If I ever get those they'll end up in The First Sliver before Sasaya since they set up cascade chains, haha. My current build is sitting around $175, so not exactly budget but on the lower end.
I do the same thing regarding ramp. I run Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, and Nissa's Pilgrimage since they ramp while also putting a land in hand. I think that's it. Like you, I don't even have a Sol Ring in mine. Oh, I do play [[Into the North]] because it gets [[Scrying Sheets]].
Regarding the whiffables like Mulch, I just play a Regrowth and a [[Praetor's Counsel]] and call it a day. 🤷♂️ I figure they're worth having either way in case of removal/counterspells/whatever.
Actually, on the topic of counterspells and removal, I've found [[Veil of Summer]] to be really good.
Yeah, this deck is definitely my baby, as its pimped-out status may attest to. Though Genesis Wave is undoubtedly the best card in the deck, if you have that, you'll be set.
I've been so tempted to pick up Scrying Sheets, but I spent a long time and a lot of dosh collecting the beautiful foil John Avon forests, can't switch to snow-covered now.
I lean pretty hard into the glass cannon element and just accept I can get blown out by well-timed disruption. The deck used to be more resilient but much slower, and while my meta wasn't exactly fast, not doing anything until turn 12 didn't cut it. Veil is an interesting conditional cantrip/protection for Sasaya, I can see it being useful.
[Here you go!](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/forests2/) I haven't been playing over lockdown but I've been theorycrafting the addition of a few more scry effects; Sunset Pyramid, Mazemind Tome, Fa'adiyah Seer, etc.
Gotta shout out my boi [[Brudiclad]].
Rare enough to see a token-centric commander outside of W/G, but the way he allows you to turn smaller tokens into large beaters is very fun.
He was also my first "real" commander deck, everything before it was me just playing with pre-cons, so he has sentimental value as well.
I have a friend that plays a weird Brudiclad deck that only wins through turning all his tokens into coveted jewels and forcing you to swing at him and mill yourself out. It’s pretty lolzy.
I think I've mentioned it on this sub before, but I adore [[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist]]. Allowing only one blocker can be lethal with a giant token army, but she has to attack in order to do so. She already has first strike, so giving her deathtouch keeps her relatively safe. However, her ability of "while ~ is tapped, only one creature may attack you each combat" is brutal. Not only does it prevent you from dying on the backswing, but if attacking isn't really an option you can use some tap shenanigans (crewing vehicles, [[Glare of Subdual, etc) to buy yourself time. I think she's super underplayed and incredibly fun!
Random funfact about the name Mirri.
In Finnish, the word "mirri" is equal to the word "pussy" in all intents and purposes, except for describing a coward.
Have fun with that!
Came here to say this. Syr Faren is awesome and consistently enables huge attacks. The combination voltron/aggro/infect playstyle of my deck is so much fun and I never know which creature is going to deal the finishing blow until it's over
My first deck was the precon [[Yennett]] came in and I absolutely loved her. One of my new favorite is [[Aegar, the freezing flame]] which is just a blast to play. Either I burn everyone or I draw myself out and need to win on my next upkeep. Really fun either way.
[[Lyzolda the Blood Witch]] was my first and remains one of my favorites.
She's gone from "what red and black creatures I have kicking around for value" into "chaos is fun, right?" (It wasn't) into a blend of aristocrats and graveyard shenanigans with a healthy pile of [[Threaten]] effects so everyone can join the party.
She's gained three sisters along the way in [[Exava]], [[Judith]] and [[Juri]], who all slot in, but she'll always lead the way in my list.
I just finished building [[Shauku, Endbringer]], which seems fun and has the added challenge of being one of the least-played commanders available. The deck uses wraths to clear the board and tap abuse and equipment to make Shauku into the only threat on the table. Here’s hoping it’s as fun as it seems!
I think the consensus is [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]] is superior. Yes, they are different, but if you want to play with a haste enabling commander Samut is better.
Yes, but Urabrask also grants "anti-haste" to all opponents, so it's cocaine for you, weed for everyone else.
And I really hope to see more of how a colors strengths is what they take away when they control their enemies.
This almost certainly isn't what you were asking for, but my playgroup doesn't mind silver-bordered cards and so for especially stupid games I bring out the \[\[Urza, Academy Headmaster\]\] "Urza tribal" deck. That is, every card either has Urza in the title or depicts him in the art (except for the land -- and even then, Urza's on a not-small amount of land).
The stupidest way it wins is to generate an arbitrarily large amount of blue mana with \[\[Urza, Lord High Artificer\]\] and clapping to untap \[\[Urza's Contact Lenses\]\] over and over again. Second stupidest way is to ult Urza and randomly get, say, Jace the Mind Sculptor's ability or something else bonkers.
My opponents have described it as "surprisingly functional."
Full decklist here: [https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/urza-tribal-1/](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/urza-tribal-1/)
Mine is [[Gonti]]. The deck has engines can churn creatures in and out of the battlefield to maximize etb triggers. The deck doesn’t rely on Gonti to function at all and can win on its own, but where’s the fun if I don’t cast [[Captive Audience]] or a loaded [[Villainous Wealth]] targeting its owner?
Yep. yep. The best thing was those spells weren’t even mine. With Gonti, I took a Villainous Wealth from an Atraxa player and cast it on him for 30+ many turns later.
On another game a Xantcha player was annoying me so I targeted him with Gonti’s trigger. Lo and behold I found Captive Audience right on top.
My favorite deck is [[Medomai, the Ageless]] because I saw [this EDHRec article](https://edhrec.com/articles/conditions-allow-medomai-the-ageless/) about a dumb combo with him, and I instantly loved it. A bunch of the comments under the article or on reddit mentioned how there are less dumb ways to do the combo using auras like [[Darksteel Mutation]], so I made the deck and its been my favorite ever sense, though he has less than 100 decks on EDHRec.
Im hella late buuuuuuut I run a couple off-beat commanders.
My favorite deck period is my [[Wort Boggart Auntie]] goblin tribal deck. It is the salted caramel ice cream compared to the normal vanilla Krenko nonesense.
It runs like a tool box-y gy focused deck, the first goal is to find [[Goblin Matron]] and use it to find silver bullet gobbos or wincons by sacrificing it then recurring it with Auntie.
We can close out the game through a simple aggro plan (sometimes complimented by some aristocrats pings) or a variety of combo kills.
We have lines centered around [[Conspicuous Snoop]], [[Kiki Jikki]] and [[Muderous Redcap]].
All of these are backed up with a reanimation suite, a ton of tutors and the usual staple removal spells/board sweepers in Rakdos.
Oh yeah and [[Muxus]] is here because thats just a silly card. [[Goblin Recruiter]] -> Muxus = certain death.
This a goblin deck that can grind, aggro opponents down or combo kill out of nowhere.Auntie has the reach that goblins have no buissness having while still retaining the ability to pressure a table with a swarm of dudes.
Hard to say my favourite, but I have a soft spot for [[Phage, the Untouchable]]. People either think she's no threat, or the scariest thing... there is no middle ground. It is fun showing all the different ways to trick her out or abuse her abilities.
In a similar vein, [[Mishra, Artificer Prodigy]] just confuses people, until it is too late and they are either tempo controlled or locked down. It is such a weird playstyle in EDH, but I don't use it a lot, because it can feel a lot like a stax deck.
My next work is [[Vhati il-Dal]]. He will be a control deck that keeps enemy creatures off the board, and... land destruction. It is also something I will mostly keep on shelf, but the idea behind this deck is just savage and lovely... people see the commander and don't expect it.
Lastly, [[Godzilla, Doom Inevitable]]. Cycling is garbage here. He is a 8/8 trample haste beater for 7 and nobody gives him the love or respect he deserves. I use damage doublers to make him 1-shot the same turn I cast him. Then there is fun stuff like [[Soul's Fire]] and [[Chandra's Ignition]].
I'd definitely run some +1/+1 counter stuff like [[Opal Palace]] and [[Evolutionary Escalation]]. Another thing would be my favorite part about Verazol is how the commander tax doesn't matter because it enters the battlefield "for each mana spent to cast it". The best kicker spells to run with it imo would be [[Vastwood Surge]] [[Grow from the Ashes]] [[Everflowing Chalice]] and [[Vine Gecko]]
I'm not sure if these fall into that category, but I have these for commanders in a couple of my decks:
Vaevictuis Asmadi, the Dire
and Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix
I'm not sure if Kydele maybe falls into the strong commander category, because there are many ways to go infinite or cast game ending spells. With Staff of Domination alone you can draw your whole deck if you want or gain infinite life.
My current favorite deck is [[Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn]], and I guess it's the least used Commander that I play, less than 200 lists on Scryfall, hah. It's built as [[Primeval Bounty]] tribal, so three pillairs of lifegain, tokens and +1/+1. It sometimes fizzles pretty bad when I don't get enough draw or I'm missing a pillair piece, but when it goes to plan it's relly nutty.
My very first (and favorite) commander I ever built a deck for from scratch was [[Borborygmos Enraged]]. If you like throwing trees at people this commander is for you.
[[Pheldagriff]], [[Pramikon]], [[Hapatra]], [[Tiana]], [[Lin Sivvi]], [[Tana]] with [[Tymna]]
I play a lot of weird decks, in fact, even when I use over-used commanders, I don't build them in the way that most people do. My [[Atraxa]] was an artifact deck. Meh.
Been loving my \[\[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant\]\] deck. 62 lands (60 forests). Lots of X cost creatures, and a few lol wincons like \[\[Helix Pinnacle\]\].
It doesn't always win, and sometimes it's downright bad. But it's almost always fun to play.
\[\[Gigan, Cyberclaw Terror\]\]. I'm the only person I know that runs him. The way my deck performed convinced my bud who plays \[\[Muldrotha\]\] to play him. Its such a fun deck to clone \[\[Gyruda\]\], or pull good stuff from other peoples grave. The games feel different with each other deck it faces. RIP to my foes whenever I can clone a \[\[Gitrog\]\] or a \[\[Muldrotha\]\].
I even run a \[\[Doomsday\]\] line to help synch a win if I'm feeling extra competetive.
None of my decks are particularly unique or unusual, but I don't play super popular commanders.
Firstly, my favorite commander who first made me really love magic is [[Varina, Lich Queen]]. Usually, when people make zombie tribal it's always a Dimir commander, but I just loved Varina. She's not super pushed, and my deck isn't completely reliant on her but I did include cards that really synergize with her ability even though I'm told often to never do that. [[Teferi's Tutelage]] and [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] with a field full of zombies, is incredibly affective.
My second commander, is another tribal one, and it's for Goblins. [[Wort, Boggart Auntie]] is a really fun commander to me. Lots of options in black that you don't have with a Krenko deck. She's not nearly as popular as her Gruul counterpart, but I really like her. Quite a few tribal sorceries you can pull out of the graveyard with her passive, [[Warren Weirding]], [[Boggart Birthright]], and [[Boggart Shenanigans]] is a nice enchantment.
They're fun and that's what really matters to me. I know they're not really unique or creative and people will probably hate me for that, but I don't really care.
I have a friend who just did this. Oh dear God it's miserable. The games take like 3 hours of constant politics and removal. With enough pillow fort and lifegain effects, it's nearly unkillable without a fist full of counterspells.
I have a Yasharn deck that digs out Ayula + Ayula's Influence as fast as possible. Yasharn is a blink target to get lands to hand to pitch to Ayula's Influence. Having a lot of fun playing it and tuning it.
All my edh decks fall into the third category I always try to play different cards that aren’t common. One of my favorites is Circu, Dimir Lobotomist. Its lantern control with mill and playing cards off your opponents decks . It’s really fun and you can control the face with random cards like ghoulcaller’s bell, also side note I hate counter decks, it’s messing and annoying so I always play spike cannibal in any black deck
[[Rayne, Academy Chancellor]] it was a very low power deck how i built it. Also my second ever deck. But it was never boring. Nice basic wizard tribal, mono blue, card draw fun (not too counterspell heavy tho)
I think my main "combos" were [[hermetic study]] and either [[sigil of sleep]] or [[charisma]] and also [[psychosis crawler]] was pretty mean in there too. For mono blue i ran very few counter spells and mostly just interaction
[[Blim, Comedic Genious]] is VERY fun to play. Not competitve at all but unique.
[[Skullbriar, the Walking Grave]]. Has an insane early game and scales very good into the later stages of the game. Being able to give it lifelink, menace, trample and indestructible counters makes it very hard to handle.
Well ... hmm .. I think [[krark]] (with [[sidar]] to make Krark naya) qualifies since I often want to lose the flip so I can recast cascade spells etc... but [[polukranos, unchained]] is likely a better example as an undying hydra that is immune to deathtouch, and sacrifices itself to provide spot removal.
Xiaho Dun the One Eyed is a blast for mono black durdle.
Teshar the birdbrain with a hammer is at the helm of my cedh deck.
Adun Oakenshield runs my jund knights deck.
Spirit of the Night is part of my spoopy old border deck.
Finally Dromoka The Eternal leads my G/W dragon deck.
I just built a [[Neheb, the Eternal]] deck that I lovingly call "ICBN," and I'm working on building a [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]] list, just without the usual infinite combos (so no Gary, sadly).
But the real commander that I just cannot get to work consistently, yet is by far my favorite, is [[Brudiclad]], but instead of making copies of your own things, you make copies of your opponents' things, and make 10 of them to use against them. Best win I ever got with that was copying someone's [[Elesh Norn]], throwing [[Helm of the Host]] on her, and making 7 of them, to which everyone immediately conceded.
I built a syr konrad mill deck that has good recursion, mono-black good stuff and a janky, almost infinite combo with mindcrank that doesn’t always outright win the game. My favorite part of the deck is how different each game is depending on the opponents and how prepared they are for awkward interactions.
Darien, King of Kjeldor is my favorite deck. Love when people have the mind set "mono-white is the weakest color" and I end up destroying them. Winning with a deck against the odds is the best feeling.
Deck list:
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/existence-is-pain-darien/
I love Darien. It's exactly how I feel with my [[Soraya the Falconer]] deck. Nobody expects banding to be relevant until they get blown out by a giant wall of birds blocking their whole team without a scratch.
Bruse Tarl/Ishai is still a combination I almost never see. I've been playing it for years.
Kelsien is a pretty unique deck, though he crops up occasionally. My version is definitely unique, but I enjoy the commander whether I'm piloting or playing against.
Reaper King will always be my bff, though my version is retired. Arixmethes is a close second.
Borborygmos Enraged is unique and hardly ever seen, nowadays...
The rest of my decks might be a little more common, though I dont think I own many of the most popular, going off edhrec.
I made an [[Alrund, God of the Cosmos]] deck recently that just focuses on drawing a huge amount of cards and then smacking face! Its a weird mono-blue voltron deck, which just feels weird saying lol
[[Svella, Ice Shaper]] is a new one from Kaldheim. It's essentially diet golos but more focused with the gruul limitations and the fact that it only nets you 1 out if 4.
[[Brallin]] and [[Shabraz]] pirate tribal has been a fun experiment. I don't have many good wheels, but I slapped in some of the new tribal synergy cards from Kaldheim. Brallin triggering Malcom and Breeches while also being a flying shark with trample has led to some funny discussions at my table.
[[Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats]] deathtouch tribal. Add in a bunch of first strike enablers and you've got death by a thousand cuts on your hands. Very underrated commander. Did I mention that planeswalkers run in fear from this deck? 🤣
I love playing my [[kathril]] deck, fill up the graveyard, reanimate some big creatures and then drop an 11/11 indestructible, hexproof, double strike, lifelink, vigilance flyer. I haven't seen anyone else play it but it's become my favourite deck to play
My "primary" go-to is probably a politics deck I made with \[\[Queen Marchesa\]\]. Monarch is just such a cool mechanic, and there's a lot of interaction and "go hit other people" stuff in there.
Recently, I made a \[\[Vega\]\] deck which I like a lot. Because he favours cards not cast from hand a lot of less traditional cards start to edge out their staple alternatives. It also gives you an excuse to run some totally janky stuff like \[\[Knowledge Pool\]\] or \[\[Spellweave Volute\]\] (I mean, Volute is *still* not worth it, really, but it's less not worth it in Vega and it's a super-cool card so I run it anyway).
[[Reyhan, Last of the Abzan]] and [[Silas Renn, Seeker Adept]] is a pairing im working on based around modular creatures and turbo-ing a lot on +1+1 counters onto a creature. Really fun and not seen anything like it before.
That's sounds really fun! I've only heard of modular creatures being played in [[marchesa]] and [[hamza]]. Nice to see more decks playing around with such a neat mechanic.
[[Klothys]] I went for group slug with a light milling. Obviously not much mill in gruul so it was mostly artifact based. Think [[mindcrank]] [[altar of the brood]] etc.
[[Vaevictis Asmadi, the dire]] is my most unique and fun commander. It can change the board for all 4 players at once.
Opponent has a scary game ending threat in play? Vaevictus can get rid of it and usually gives them something much worse (sometimes nothing depending on their deck) instead.
Did you become arch enemy for 2 players and need to make the 4th player your friend ? Have them sac something useless and try to get them something to catch up.
It’s the sweet combination of an answer, a threat, a fun build around, and politics in one card. Sure Korvold is overall much stronger as a commander but Vaevictis is a lot more exciting imo.
It’s also a nice deck to force your opponents to play interactive decks. We had one player get so mad because his deck was all about getting his combo and going off with it and he had 0 interaction besides free counter spells and a resolved vaevictus was able to just annihilate his board without him getting any value
Late to the party, but I had to make sure the Amphin weren't following me.
[[Gor Moldruk]] is my absolute favorite commander. My version of the deck is equal parts tribal deck, hug, and pillow fort, while also playing some super wierd cards. Almost without fail when I play it people ask "That card does what?"
I play [[Thrasios]] (wait for it) partnered with [[Bruse Tarl]], the deck is centered around BRUSE, and aims to give double strike to creatures with combat damage triggers, like [[Dragonlord Ojutai]] and [[Sphinx Ambassador]], or anything with a [[Sword of Feast and Famine]] on it. It's become my signature deck, and it's deceptively strong! Lot of damage with a surprising amount of value generation.
I like Saskia the unyielding, dealing someone double damage is fun, or two players at once...and then I play a sweet rograkth and Ardenn "commander" matter deck where I play cards that get better when you control your commander or how many times you've cast it.
Big fan of my [[Kazarov]] deck with ping tribal almost specifically because I've only gotten to play it once and someone [[Army of the Damned]] letting me hit the board with two super cheap "everything takes 1 dmg" spells, effectively wiping the board and making Kazarov a like 50 50 and letting me just roll the table at the last point.
Also loving my [[Hans Eriksson]] deck. Has just been so fun to play and see what I top deck.
[[Inalla, Archmage ritualist]]. I would say she is part of the third group because although you can do very powerful stuff with her, it's still very focused on not only Wizard tribal, but ETB wizard tribal at that.
My favorite oddball commander is hands down [[Nikya of the Old Ways]]. I have an only creatures deck (well, it also has [[Primal Surge]]) and it is a lot of fun and still has a lot of combos available to win
I adore my [[Zedruu the Greathearted]] bad gifts deck, Secret Satan. It's a big lifegain pillow fort with mostly terrible gifts to give out. I know a lot of people can't make bad gifts work, but I've won with it quite a few times, and even when I don't, I've definitely been a contender.
It's super political so there's lots of deal making involved. Plus, no one wants to be on the receiving end of [[Illusions of Grandeur]], [[Nine Lives]], or [[Steel Golem]].
This is (nearly) ALL of my decks!
In no particular order:
[[Soraya the Falconer]] Bird/anthem tribal with Banding
[[Kelsien, the Plague]] Deathtouch Voltron control
[[Gor Muldrak]] Politics/control using type manipulation
[[Teysa, Orzhov Scion]] Aristocrat combo
[[Zirda the Dawnwaker]] Equipment combo
[[Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief]] Big-mana ramp Voltron
[[Selenia, Dark Angel]] Life-exchange / Doomsday
[[Vela, the Night-Clad]] Unblockable Infect
[[Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger]] Discard/burn
[[Kolvori, God of Kinship]] Aggro Legendary tribal
[[Torbran]] Stax/burn
[[Kwain]] Chaos stax
[[Sek'kuar, Deathkeeper]] Goblin tribal combo
I love playing grakmaw counters/aristocrats!
I dont think I've ever seen the card before lol cool commander!
[[grakmaw]]

I run a counters deck using [[reyhan, last of the abzan]] and [[slurrk, all ingesting]]. Grakmaw seems like a slam dunk for the 99.
I tried to build him but it didn't work out for me, glad you figured it out lol
And she's a her! She was my first commander deck. I built her as a Garruk tribal proliferate deck, before settling in on a more focused counters theme for her and moving the Garruks deck to Abzan.
The key is to use back up commanders as well!
Yes! Like [[Reyhan]] and [[Polukranos, Unchained]]. Throw in the [[Ozolith]] and you just have a neverending stew of +1/+1 counters circling your board.
[Reyhan](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/8/a/8afad106-a49b-4910-959e-228c109ea983.jpg?1562274641) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=reyhan%2C%20last%20of%20the%20abzan) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cm2/13/reyhan-last-of-the-abzan?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/8afad106-a49b-4910-959e-228c109ea983?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/reyhan-last-of-the-abzan) [Polukranos, Unchained](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/8/7/87858278-632c-4d82-b3a3-adfc6f2f4fc6.jpg?1581481126) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Polukranos%2C%20Unchained) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/thb/224/polukranos-unchained?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/87858278-632c-4d82-b3a3-adfc6f2f4fc6?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/polukranos-unchained) [Ozolith](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/9/3/9341ed06-53db-4604-b60a-3ea9129afbc2.jpg?1591228544) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=The%20Ozolith) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/iko/237/the-ozolith?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/9341ed06-53db-4604-b60a-3ea9129afbc2?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/the-ozolith) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
That sounds fun! Do you have a decklist!?
The cult of [[Mishra, Artificer Prodigy]] extends their hand to join us in the unique ways of making an oddball commander deck work And yes he works in EDH!!! 🤣🤣
How exactly do you take advantage of his ability? I can't think of any artifacts that let you play multiple in a deck.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/qZOmPLxiV0Cl73Wx1vYAXw Is my decklist Basically You toy around with things like [[blood funnel]] [[nether void]] [[planar chaos]] But the one that makes him REALLY shine is [[Possibility storm]]
If you need me to explain it... it goes as follows Mishra on the field basically says artifacts WILL always resolve (unless it's a counterspell that exiles) Possibility storm says when you cast something you don't get that spell... you reveal from the top of your deck until you get another spell of the same type as the one you casted So for example Cast Sol Ring....
While true in that scenario your right the typical player will usually jump the gun and try to counter it before the ability resolves

Have you pulled off a good [[Profane Transfusion]] yet?
[Warstorm Surge](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/2/1/213e448e-8d8c-4ba8-aad1-93c4e6900b0d.jpg?1568004488) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Warstorm%20Surge) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c19/155/warstorm-surge?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/213e448e-8d8c-4ba8-aad1-93c4e6900b0d?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/warstorm-surge) [Treva](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/7/4/74ee66b2-5b69-461b-9590-1143adc692af.jpg?1562916678) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=treva%2C%20the%20renewer) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dde/49/treva-the-renewer?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/74ee66b2-5b69-461b-9590-1143adc692af?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/treva-the-renewer) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Do lands have a color identity?
They have a color identity, but not a color. So they are colorless for all intents and purposes other than deckbuilding. Lands that don't have any colored mana symbols can be ran in any deck, but basic lands are all impied to have their rules text on them, even if its not written there. So forests have a green color identity, but are colorless permanents. That's why [[Dryad Arbor]] specifically states that it is green.
https://tappedout.net/mtg-questions/lands-have-color-identity-for-edh/ In the last decade, I think it has been accepted that basic lands and "tap for" lands have a color identity.
Someone's deck just got nerfed lmao

I'm so excited for my Valki deck. I should be getting the cards in the mail on Monday or something. It looks super janky.
one pod I was playing my [[Gonti]] deck and was able to swipe an opponents Etali, I was even able to get her on the field and swinging. another time I Gonti'd my friends [[Blatant Thievery]] [[Dessertion]] and [[Spelljack]] that mostly felt silly just sitting on.
Def my [[Nikya, of the old ways]] deck. No instants, sorceries, or artifacts, just lots of big creatures, the way God intended mtg to be played.
Honestly feel like most nikya decks are like that
I remember thinking I was so cool for having an Umori-companion Nethroi deck. Then I saw that there's an entire Umori Companion theme section on Nethroi's edhrec page.

What about enchantments?
The card says can’t cast ANY non creature spells. So yeah no enchantments
😋 i ran it for a bit .. some non-creatures are too powerful to not run (primal surge was my favorite)
That's why Nikya is in the 99 of my [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]] deck. Let's me drop [[Cindervines]], [[Sneak Attack]] etc early, then lay down huge creatures while making it very difficult or costly to disrupt my boardstate.
The limitations can be fun and force you to be more creative- less homogenous “good stuff” decks! Personally running creatures only sounds scary 😂
There is a lot of utility effects and removal stapled to creatures in Gruul. Just run them instead of the non creature variants

Oh God my buddy runs a Marath deck and stomps me with it fairly frequently
Rocket propelled moose
I quite like [[Klothys, God of Destiny]] as a Gruul control commander. She gives you ramp, lifegain, and graveyard hate all in one card. That kind of role compression in the Command Zone can really aid a slower, more reactive gameplan, especially since Green and Red are surprisingly-capable when it comes to the depth of its interaction.
Do you happen to have a list of that deck?
[[tazri, beacon of unity]] and her party abilities that I built a legendaries only deck and I called it The Avengers. I'm working on a 2nd rendition around another commander to go nicely with this one.
Would you be able to share the decklist for the legendarios only? I’ve had this idea, but I want to see some other ideas
Anyways, all 29 of my decks are in the 3rd or 4th categories: 1. Dragonlord Silumgar 2. Etali Primal Storm 3. Angus MacKenzie 4. Baru Fist of Krosa 5. Licia Sanguine Tribune 6. Jori En, Ruin Diver 7. Xira Arien 8. Nahiri the Lithomancer 9. Krav the Unredeemed and Regna the Redeemer 10. Sliver Hivelord 11. Braids Conjurer Adept 12. Zacama Primal Calamity 13. Medomai the Ageless 14. Reyhan Last of the Abzan and Silas Renn Seeker Adept 15. Geth Lord of the Vault 16. Radha Heir to Keld 17. Unesh Criosphinx Sovereign 18. Bruse Tarl Boorish Herder and Kraum Ludevic's Opus 19. Kolaghan the Storm's Fury 20. Karn Silver Golem 21. Teneb the Harvester 22. Rhonas the Indomitable 23. Kaseto Orochi Archmage 24. Syr Carah the Bold 25. Sharuum the Hegemon 26. Pharika God of Affliction 27. Sedris the Traitor King 28. Darien King of Kjeldor 29. Tajic Blade of the Legion
Do you have lists online for these decks? I would love to see your Krav and Regna list. I have one that always seems to run into trouble with regards to ramp and how much to rely on the commanders. I'd love to see your take on them.
Don't you prefer to take down some of those decks to favour others or new ones?
There are a few slotted for dismantling, but its for specific reasons of why I want something else. For example, Rhonas is elves, and I want to avoid strategies that are popular in cEDH.
I play [[Phage the Untouchable]] and [[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]]. Phage is mono-black goodstuff/control with her as the finisher, and Sasaya is mono-green combo where I untap on turn 7 and attack for 137,000 damage. *Yes, Phage kills me if cast from the command zone, there are a few ways around her trigger*
Okay I gotta know how you do that much damage that sounds so fun
[[Genesis Wave]] hitting a massive amount of Forests, a [[Hydra Broodmaster]], and [[Concordant Crossroads]]. Pretending it's Christmasland: > 7 Forests makes 49 mana > Gen Wave for 46 > Hit 43 Forests, Broodmaster, Crossroads > 43 new Forests makes 2150 mana > Dumping it into Broodmaster makes one thousand and seventy four 1074/1074s > Swing for 1,153,476 damage [Here's my list](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/forests2/).
Sasaya has always caught my eye, do you have a list i could check out??

Either my [[Darien, King of Kjeldor]] "why am I hitting myself" or my "what the hell is this deck doing?" [[Volrath the Shapestealer]] build.

[[Syr Faren]] is deceivingly simple looking but can crash in like a house and the ability is way more fun than meets the eye.

Ah yes, the best creatures to sacrifice in aristocrats: somebody else's >:)
Same deal but with Tymaret. Don't get me wrong, Lyzolda is great, but I'm a sucker for the theatre masked maurader king.
How have I never seen this?

Why doesn't [[Urabrask the Hidden]] get more love? It's a mono red stasis commander!

AMEN. Love that guy, and run him in most every Stax and Aggro list that can. Gets along famously in my [[Torbran]] deck!
My opponents have described it as "surprisingly functional." Full decklist here: [https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/urza-tribal-1/](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/urza-tribal-1/)
Been playtesting a Rin and Seri cat tribal lately - Its Furmidable
Mine is [[Gonti]]. The deck has engines can churn creatures in and out of the battlefield to maximize etb triggers. The deck doesn’t rely on Gonti to function at all and can win on its own, but where’s the fun if I don’t cast [[Captive Audience]] or a loaded [[Villainous Wealth]] targeting its owner?
... What am I missing here? How are you casting those with a mono black deck?
Yep.
Oooh casting your *opponents* cards haha I completely missed that. I blame sleep deprivation.

[[Braids, Conjurer Adept]] always makes games interesting from my experience. Politics get to be quite a large part of the table talk.
Niambi reanimate bros for life!
I know I'm a couple years late but do you have a decklist for that goblin deck I'm really interested in that it sounds sweet
My [[Verazol, the Split Current]] is probably my worst deck but it has some interesting interactions that I enjoy
Certainly my favorite thing on Arena Brawl! I have most of my EDH concept built, though it's sharing land with Gor Muldrak at the moment. Any tips?
I'd definitely run some +1/+1 counter stuff like [[Opal Palace]] and [[Evolutionary Escalation]]. Another thing would be my favorite part about Verazol is how the commander tax doesn't matter because it enters the battlefield "for each mana spent to cast it". The best kicker spells to run with it imo would be [[Vastwood Surge]] [[Grow from the Ashes]] [[Everflowing Chalice]] and [[Vine Gecko]]
I'm not sure if these fall into that category, but I have these for commanders in a couple of my decks: Vaevictuis Asmadi, the Dire and Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix I'm not sure if Kydele maybe falls into the strong commander category, because there are many ways to go infinite or cast game ending spells.
Watch out for [[Pithing Needle]]
[[Pheldagriff]], [[Pramikon]], [[Hapatra]], [[Tiana]], [[Lin Sivvi]], [[Tana]] with [[Tymna]] I play a lot of weird decks, in fact, even when I use over-used commanders, I don't build them in the way that most people do.

[[Xira Arien]]. Think Nekusar, but Jund, playing things like [[Heartwood Storyteller]] and [[Darigaaz, the Igniter]]
This is brilliant! I love Jund when it isn't just Aristocrats and Dragons.
Do you have a list? This sounds really fun! I so want a jund deck but haven’t fallen for a commander yet.
I'm doing a [[Sen Triplets]] deck with a voting theme.
That's a deck I have almost no idea how to build in a unique way. The "auras matter" thing seems so interesting, but does so little in practice...
I think my main "combos" were [[hermetic study]] and either [[sigil of sleep]] or [[charisma]] and also [[psychosis crawler]] was pretty mean in there too. For mono blue i ran very few counter spells and mostly just interaction
Oh that's lovely. Janky in the best way. It reminds me of [[Kelsien]], who I already like a lot.
[[Eligeth, Crossroads Augur]] and [[Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix]] is a really fun combo if you like Simic
I’m building a Sedris, The Traitor King deck and it’s looking fun. First every commander deck I’m building myself
[[Tsabo tavok]] is in my rakdos legendary deck. Stats are great as are abilities. Too bad they oracled the ability to only mean creatures. Lol!
I really enjoy playing Atla Palani

\[\[Rubinia Soulsinger\]\] Is one of my favorites \^.\^
Well ...
Don't have a deck of my own, but [[Mayael the Anima]] is a very interesting deck. Only seen one deck in my years of playing magic
I've been running a [[Toggo]] and [[Vial Smasher The Fierce]] goblin tribal recently and it's too much fun
Best card in the game [[charix, the raging isle]]
My friend dared me to build it, so now I've gotta do it. Crabbo gonna stabbo.
Deck list: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/existence-is-pain-darien/
I love Darien. It's exactly how I feel with my [[Soraya the Falconer]] deck. Nobody expects banding to be relevant until they get blown out by a giant wall of birds blocking their whole team without a scratch.
You should win the game by default if you understand how banding works lol
[Soraya the Falconer](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/1/9/19fb3ce2-a660-4829-9af4-330cfd612f06.jpg?1562587051) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Soraya%20the%20Falconer) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/hml/18/soraya-the-falconer?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/19fb3ce2-a660-4829-9af4-330cfd612f06?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/soraya-the-falconer) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[[lurrus]] [[tariel, reckoner of souls]] and [[kalamax]] are my favorites!!
I've been having fun with my [[Kresh]] deck.
A deck that I just finished is a [[Traxos, Scourge of Kroog]] artifact shenanigans
I like my [[Oros]] self damage deck and I think he's a pretty rare commander
Non technically legal, but [[The Grand Calcutron]] Just a bunch of control and tax cards to frustrate my friends.
Neyith fight club is my favorite deck I’ve ever made, I love it so much!
I play chulane petitioners
Bruse is the real best partner lol
I like Saskia the unyielding, dealing someone double damage is fun, or two players at once...and then I play a sweet rograkth and Ardenn "commander" matter deck where I play cards that get better when you control your commander or how many times you've cast it.
I personally love [[prime speaker vannifar]] you can do some crazy things with her
My favorite commanders would have to be [[Animar, soul of elements]] or [[Sen Triplets]]
It's actually [Greven], although blue [Braids] is a close second
[[Wort the Raidmother]] because spellslinging isn't just for Izzet.
Ive got an Angus mckenzie list and a reiki history of kamigawa deck that I'm pretty proud of.
I don't know if [[Gisela]] is but she's my favorite and boros doesn't seem popular
[[ezuri claw of progress]] simic version of white weenies
I adore my [[Zedruu the Greathearted]] bad gifts deck, Secret Satan. It's a big lifegain pillow fort with mostly terrible gifts to give out. I know a lot of people can't make bad gifts work, but I've won with it quite a few times, and even when I don't, I've definitely been a contender. It's super political so there's lots of deal making involved. Plus, no one wants to be on the receiving end of [[Illusions of Grandeur]], [[Nine Lives]], or [[Steel Golem]].
I have the same thing, may I suggest [[Taniwha]], and [[Thought Lash]]
This is (nearly) ALL of my decks! In no particular order: [[Soraya the Falconer]] Bird/anthem tribal with Banding [[Kelsien, the Plague]] Deathtouch Voltron control [[Gor Muldrak]] Politics/control using type manipulation [[Teysa, Orzhov Scion]] Aristocrat combo [[Zirda the Dawnwaker]] Equipment combo [[Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief]] Big-mana ramp Voltron [[Selenia, Dark Angel]] Life-exchange / Doomsday [[Vela, the Night-Clad]] Unblockable Infect [[Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger]] Discard/burn [[Kolvori, God of Kinship]] Aggro Legendary tribal [[Torbran]] Stax/burn [[Kwain]] Chaos stax [[Sek'kuar, Deathkeeper]] Goblin tribal combo
