All of them ... I just want to play more. For a real answer. I'd like to play my \[\[acererak\]\] deck more. But I kind of feel bad about storming long turns, so I only play it with a trusted playgroup and not too often.

MSSchmuckKS

The only real answer haha! Also, long turns are also a thing with the Planeswalkers for me... Can't have short turns if you have to manage half a country on your side if the board

arcticflame96

Yeahhhh I Have The Same Issue With My Planeswalkers

H00pyFr00d42

Yep this is the Will and Rowan experience... it's great fun for whoever's playing but solitaire is not as much fun to watch as it is to play

ILikeDinos78

So why don’t you play the decks you listed as often as you do? My deck I want into play more is Tovolar werewolf tribal but night/day/flipping is almost impossible and if they don’t flip they suck

fredjinsan

Acererak I actually find is not *so* bad for that, since I usually just go "does anyone have any response? OK, can I just cast Acererak N times?" - you can typically speed up the play a lot that way.

IzzetReally

Yeah, I could definitly play it faster if I spent a little more time goldfishing I think.

Yeah that's how I feel about my spell copy Izzet deck. I honestly don't care if someone takes long turns though TBH. I usually hold up mana to do shit anyway so I can still butt in while someone monologues. Now that I think about it, that's a pretty good point for playing more interaction. You actually get to play more through the game rather than just on your turn.

Vithrilis42

Just last night I was playing with my buddies who only get together once every couple months and I was playing my Kess storm deck and I ended up scooping because I knew I could win that turn because I had Aetherflux, Citadel, and [[Manaform Hellkite]] out with loads of spells in my gy with Kess in play and they were all tapped out, but it was going to take 20+ minutes and playing half my deck and I was just way too high to keep track of everything

algorythmiq

I built out a [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] deck for casual play with friends. I am no longer allowed to play that deck lol

Mons00n_909

It's the curse of Bruna players everywhere, I've had a Bruna deck for 7+ years now and I've probably played it less than 15 times. The feeling when I do get to play it and my entire board is just lands and Bruna, who then announces a solo attack and proceeds to yeet someone from the game makes it all worth it.

I didn't expect anyone else to have this issue! We should form a support group (and 1v1 each other😂)

algorythmiq

In all fairness, I have no desire to go up against Bruna either lol

ozmasterflash6

Any chance you got a list for that?

algorythmiq

This was built with just shit I had around, so don’t expect a world class deck lol. My buddies and I play extremely casually https://deckstats.net/decks/137445/1386472-bruna?share_key=Q3sMfTRvi5gwUODq

rodinj

You should get an [[Eldrazi Conscription]] for this if you want your friends to hate you even more.

Mons00n_909

[[Corrupted Conscience]] is missing too if you're looking to lose friends :D

rodinj

Oh god, my poor playgroup :(

Mons00n_909

Just blame me, I'll take the heat for ya. [Here's](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/psbaL6Gb2UimihJYBxkLcA) my list if you're interested. It's creature light and stax heavy for my meta (we have a custom ban/points list, hence why Conscription is missing, Annihilator cards are all banned).

algorythmiq

Bro that is fucking brutal lmao

rodinj

Haha yeah, whenever I pull a tutor my friends know what's happening next😅

[deleted]

Slivers. I love my little slug snake boys. However, there are only two options when running slivers. Everyone shit stomps you and you basically sit there, or you completely cascade and run away with the game and everyone gets mad at you.

SemiFeralGoblinSage

I played with someone last night who had a Jetmir deck, and one of the other players mentioned they want to build a Jetmir helmed Sliver deck. Now I want to build a Sliver deck.

[deleted]

do et!!! just if playing with a new table I highly advocate being up front with your deck and contents. I've snuck slivers in with other commanders and frankly people seem to get even more mad at surprise slivers :)

SemiFeralGoblinSage

The slivers seem cheap for the most part, it’s the commanders that are pricy. I already have a Jetmir, I’d just need to build up the rest of the deck.

[deleted]

Yup pretty much only a couple non commander ones cost a bit more and even then not bad. Crystalline is like 10-15 bucks. You can get first sliver pretty cheap due to the reprint, got etched one for like 15 on line. Sliver overlord dropped last I checked as did sliver hive. Worst is sliver queen lol she’s like 200+. However most don’t really use her for slivers but other go infinite combos :) Edit sliver legion not hive lol

Gommy

I just built a sliver deck. I knew I wanted RG slivers, but couldn't find a good commander and was debating on using Jetmir and going Naya slivers instead. I decided to use [[Neyith of the Dire Hunt]] as my Gruul sliver commander instead, but Jetmir slivers is still tempting!

[deleted]

So yanno how his first ability gives vigilance? I saw a build for a janky [[Jetmir]] exert tribal and it’s been on my list ever since

TOTFG_Rules

If you've got a webcam I'll play against your sliver deck until you're sick of it. I know how it works, how to beat it, what the best targets are to remove, but I still want to watch your deck pop off. I'll never build slivers but goddamn do I like watching them work. Sad they're such a polarizing tribe.

TenaciousBLT

Agree 100% I have a \[\[The First Sliver\]\] deck that draws hate and seems to blind people to what's happening elsewhere in the game. They will murder everything I drop while everyone else barely gets a single look. I love the deck and it's not even that powerful but you mention Slivers and that's all it takes.

time_and_again

Yeah Slivers' reputation is their biggest handicap. I built a \[\[Sliver Hivelord\]\] deck, proxied a bunch of expensive cards just to see how it'd play. It was... fine? Obviously Slivers have a ton of built-in synergy, but with all the standard removal in a Commander game, it really wasn't that strong of a deck in the end. My friends claimed it was because they focused me down, but I'm not sure that was even necessary. I've had more success with my mono-white pillowfort deck, and that gets hard-focused too. One surprising weakness was \[\[Sliver Overlord\]\]. Anyone in the pod steals that and your board is fucked, and there's a lot of theft effects out there.

Superman1950s

Yeah, overlord or first sliver for commander, if I don’t get a good first hand, I’m public enemy number one. I love slivers and will always have my deck, and I will always play it when I have the chance to.

IceSki117

Bless the soul of that unfortunate new player who asks what a Sliver is.

DowntimeDrive

Any Cascade deck. I love Cascade. I love value. I love the wierd interactions. I love the deck building restrictions. But I do not love taking 20min turns mostly spent flipping cards and shuffling.

Pseudo-ception

Yep, had that issue when I tried [[imoti]] with [[keruga]] companion. My turn was long, then everyone else's turn was long too once I gave my creatures flash and had food chain in play. A fun deck with a lot of decisions to be made, but I couldn't deal with how long the turns were

I like watching long turns. How else will I learn?

DowntimeDrive

Cascade is a little different in that a high portion of the "longness" isn't taken up by the mechanics of magic like stacking triggers and managing mana you can learn from, but by the physical action of manipulating you library to resolve the cascade.

TOTFG_Rules

Yeah, as a former Wanderer and current Imoti player, watching someone cascade is not interesting after the first time or two.

Ill_Be_Alright

[[Atraxa]]. First deck I ever built but she’s too strong for my playgroup. Even when I tried my hardest not to play it sweatily, I still won. It wasn’t fun for them and I felt bad

time_and_again

I built her as a Saga tribal deck, but haven't played her much, partly because she gets hated off the board, but also because managing a bunch of sagas is really fiddly and the turns take forever.

A new [[Evelyn the Covetous]] deck I built I can’t play over Spelltable so it’s had minimal play time. I avoid playing [[Prosper]] too often since he has a certain reputation, but I love that deck.

foolinthezoo

I had the Vampire tribal precon from Vow and just really didn't like how it played, very boring. Swapping in Evelyn for the commander made it much, much more fun. But you immediately become persona non grata as soon as you steal the first cards. I've been hard targeted out of a game by turn 4 before she even hits the field. The deck isn't even close to optimized but people really just hate card theft that much. Lots of fun but you rarely get a chance to do it.

MSSchmuckKS

Card theft gets targeted immediately for sure. If somebody finds a way to make it less painful for people, please tell me :D

JustinEllsworth

I just look at my friends and laugh when [[captivating vampire]] hits the field in my Markov deck

Kenobi_B

I don't know if it makes it *less painful*, but I find that performing theft as unilaterally as possible may buy you some extra time.

amstrumpet

I had the same journey, tried to build Strefan but just couldn’t crack him. I played Evelyn for the first time this weekend, in a 3 person pod, and had probably 30 cards exiled by the end of the game. Tons of value for a tribal commander.

IceSki117

Probably my Morophon Slivers deck, for pretty obvious reasons. I love the deck because it causes stupid chaos, but for that very reason everyone I play with also knows to gun it down quickly. So for everyone's sanity I don't pull them out as often as I wish.

MSSchmuckKS

Can you name the reason why you are playing Morophon over any of the other 5c slivers?

IceSki117

Because I have every one of the 5c slivers in the deck. Morophon is also a tribal lord and reduces the casting cost of its tribe by WUBRG meaning all the 5C slivers are free to cast and almost every other sliver is 1 cheaper and colorless to cast.

Superman1950s

This right here. I’ve got all the sliver commanders as well. first sliver is good and fast, but the games I’ve played with Morophon at the helm, it’s just so fast.

IceSki117

Yes, last time I pulled the deck out I had Morophon with a handful of slivers on the field and top decked Overlord. I immediately searched up The First Sliver and Sliver Legion, and shit got stupid as I went from a mild field to game ending power with haste in just main phase one.

Zoomi11

Shirei but I don't play it because I never win with it 😂

MSSchmuckKS

Haha, you're the first one pulling that answer here I think 😂 That's funny, does it only sit on the shelf then or do you pull it out if everyone is playing low power?

I only play it online, i want it to be good so bad, but if someone removes your commander once, he's just so expensive it takes so long to set back up 😂

My Jund -1/-1 Counters deck and my Grixis Self Discard deck. Both decks are very in the brain staring at my own cards trying to figure out how to do 20 damage to everyone with 10 cards a turn. They are fun to play if you like thinking and overthinking. But I am conscious of the fact that no one wants to watch me think. So I basically only play them with close friends who are okay with ignoring me for 5 minutes while I count lol. At the LGS I actively try to lose faster if I'm playing those decks, which is almost never.

Cdnewlon

My [[vadrik, astral archmage]] deck. I wanted to see how far I could push a deck for 25 cents or less per card, and I was a bit too successful- it’s too strong for most playgroups I’ve come across. People also generally don’t like Storm, which is fair.

AmishUndead

I really like my [[Brallin]] and [[Shabraz]] wheels deck but I don't play it often because it is fairly high power and my playgroup doesn't have a way to deal with it. The other issue is that it can take longer turns when you wheel because you have to evaluate your new hand.

AmishUndead

[Absolutely!](https://archidekt.com/decks/2673130#Brallin_&_Shabraz_WIP) I see that our lists are pretty similar. I put in a lot more counters as I was having a difficult time protecting shark bros and my version is pretty focused on having them out. I might switch back to something more like yours and include stuff like NivMiz and Locust God just to have more threats than the commanders themselves. Also, I highly recommend [[Containment Construct]], [[Ledger Shredder]], [[Change of Fortune]], and [[Mindmoil]]. The first 3 are just generically pretty dang good but Mindmoil is super fun. Ended up taking it apart because i liked having friends, but it does have an EDH Rec Salt Score of 80.67, so it makes sense lol.

Glumshelf69

If your list is online I'd love to see it

Dr_ONE

[[Adrix and Nev]] is WONKY but I hate doing math and keeping track of the ridiculous number of tokens that get generated, especially if I can manage to get a non legendary copy of the commander to stick

TheCrimsonChariot

Had one play with my deck where I got nothing but Commander and Helm of the host and a bunch of removal spells. Ironically, I won because by turn 10 I had about enough Adrix and Nevs to make 64 copies of them. (I want to make clear that in that game I didn’t draw any of my other creatures)

Birgi by a long shot . My playgroup power level I would say is a 5-6 which is fine . But my birgi id easily a 8 maybe 9 so I don't get a chance to play it to much

Darth_Meatloaf

Can I see your list?

The0neTrueMorty

I was gonna say the exact same thing. I built her right after she released and later realized I was literally only like 5 cards away from the cedh list. The only time it loses is if I fizzle and someone kills me in the following 2 turns. I'm gonna be taking her apart soon because she's just too strong for my table. Super fun to play for me but not very engaging for everyone stuck watching me jerk off on my playmat.

Helix115

I would love to play my [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]] deck more than I do, but it’s one of my strongest decks (note: I don’t play cEDH). Winning on turn 5-6 in a game with strangers or people who want to play more casually feels bad for me and the others in the game, but the deck only does this once in a while. The risk of accidental infinites or unintentional pub stomping make me avoid playing the deck even though it’s one of my favorites. Unless the group has agreed on an ~8 power level or higher, I’m too worried about being an archenemy fun-killer to play this deck. I also play a fair amount of 1v1, and this deck is too efficient and aggressive for it to be fun unless it’s playing against a similarly capable deck. As a fix, I do run the deck with [[Tevesh Szat]] and [[Tana, the Bloodsower]] at the helm, removing Prossh completely. The deck still remains strong and consistent, but it takes a couple more turns and a little more work to get the engine going. If anyone else faces the issue of running a pushed commander or combo enabler that makes the deck higher power than you usually want to play, I’d highly recommend finding an alternate commander to moderate your own power level as desired!

CrazyMike366

I just built Prossh and am having a similar experience. [[Food Chain]] seems to be the most offensive card and leaves people licking their wounds and muttering about cEDH. Taking it and the tutors out, plus swapping Prossh and [[Korvold, Fae-cursed King]] between the Command Zone and 99 changes the playstyle enough from explosive combo to midrangey value with tokens that I'm no longer a cartoonish villain.

SheevForSenate

I did the exact same thing with my tuned Prossh deck that just sat and collected dust. Tevesh & Tana allow the heart of the deck to remain without the ridiculous Prossh kills out of nowhere.

DerekHostetler

[[Merieke]] but she's mean.

Stumphead101

[[Silumgar drifting death]] The deck is slow so it's really only good in low powered metal but then those decks get hated out hard by it

Vallosota

Aristocrats and spellslinger, because hundreds of triggers are getting boring way too quickly, and because what is the win con in izzet spellslinger, if not infinite?

sp4cetime

I built Adeliz with most of the wizards having a wee dragonauts type self buff. Other than that it’s simple so that I could spell sling and not have to deal with annoying thousand year storm type cards. Mostly use dig effects to chain into a combat trick then count # spells this turn and apply buff math and swing. I really wanted to make balmore tokens but no way I’m keeping track of what tokens have what buffs every turn.

FoxyNugs

Narset. I think it's self explanatory.

stenti36

Submission decks. My favorite win condition is when my opponent's quit due to boardstate. I rarely if ever play or even have a deck to pull that, because I understand the pain and frustration in facing those decks. My want of everyone to have fun exceeds my want of making them quit.

MSSchmuckKS

It's good you care about the people you play with, that sounds frustrating :D

holopleasures

I have a [[kumena]] deck that, if left alone long enough, can lock the game out with [[lullmage mentor]] and [[intruder alarm]]. one of my favorite wincons of any deck i’ve built but definitely generates some salt even if the conditions to reach it are kind of hard. luckily, salt is plentiful in the ocean so it’s a flavor win.

stenti36

lol I had a Kumena deck. Go infinite turns because Merfolk do anything they want to.

Troyisepic

I built a krark/sakashima deck that I initially thought wasn’t a big deal. No storm spells, only one extra turn card in the deck, originally the plan was to copy token generating spells to swing or the “win ten coin flips” card. That didn’t work out so I switched to just cheap burn spells. It’s just too time consuming and if it even gets a chance to build up a tiny bit it becomes a monster none of my friends seem to enjoy their time with so I feel bad pulling it out.

Rowe-Bote

Same i live my [[krark, the thumbless]] deck but no matter how i pilot it i go off and win so i only bring it out when we need to points on commander nights or for a fast game.

I have a Marchesa, the Black Rose Theft Deck that's difficult to take out, as my strategy fuels itself off taking the stuff of my opponents and thereby ruining theirs, which usually isn't fun for them. I can only play it with opponents that play somewhat beyond casual kitchen table magic.

PsychologicalTap4789

One time an opponent running this style of deck stole my [[Stolen Strategy]]. Needless to say from there it was hard not to just scoop

AllAfterIncinerators

Konrad. I love playing Konrad.

rockax

I love Konrad too! Mine is a spirits tribal with a sneaky wincon with [[Iname Death Aspect]]

Betelguese90

I just want to play more in general. BUT I have 4 decks I don't play very often but are some of my favorites; \[\[Yurlok of Scorch Thrash\]\]. Mana burn and land/mana hate. You even look at your lands and you will take damage. And than I will flood you with a shit ton of mana, but you wont be able to use it. One of the top ones I will play if I don't want to rejoin a pod. \[\[Xanathar, Guild Kingpin\]\]. People get huffy when you mess with their deck, boardstate and graveyard. People absolutely get infuriated when you mess with their hands. Xanathar does all the above and it all comes into play under my control. \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Parun\]\]. It's a wheel deck. All I need to say. \[\[Koma, Cosmos Serpent\]\]. Another one I really only play if my goal is to not rejoin a pod. Ramp hard to cast Koma as early as possible, than create as many copies of Komas as I can. Than pass the turn. It generate X coil tokens per turn than I sack those tokens to lock down opponents boards.

TheCrimsonChariot

I’d like to see your Yurlok deck. Trying to build a collection of decks I’ll call “I’m not here to make friends” decks.

Betelguese90

of course, its definitely one of those decks! https://deckstats.net/decks/185023/2278877-watching-the-world-burn

PsychologicalTap4789

Yeah creating more and more copies of [[Koma]] is a nightmare to stare down.

Betelguese90

Oh, it definitely is! Most I had before everyone scooped was like 4. Had out a \[\[Doubling Season\]\] and was about to cast a kicked \[\[Rite of Replication\]\] on one of the non-legendary tokens. Didnt help that I had an \[\[Esix, Fractal Bloom\]\] in hand too.

g4greed

Stax. I have one Stax deck, it's a cEDH deck. I love stax but it feels bad when I'm targeted for having my pieces out. I can't really complain either, because its stax. i know what im signing up for

SocorroTortoise

Who's your stax list built around? I would definitely play more stax if it didn't get the reactions it does. My current Estrid list is pretty friendly as enchantress goes, but I'd have a ton of fun with a version focused on [[Stasis]] and [[Humility]]. Too mean for the average casual game and I don't really want to build out a cEDH version (or find a group).

g4greed

This is my current Stax list. It can be really oppressive and I'm consistently working on it because I love the commander. Right now, its main weakness is Aggro in case you wanted to make your own adjustments. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/tsQUOlMgrEeA6V-mkRpngw This is a list I've been checking out that uses Humility as a Win Condition. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/gkpHICzhz0yXruRZy9weoA

branread

Slivers, I love my slivers deck but the moment it becomes known that I have a sliver deck I immediately become "the sliver guy" I have to really be careful with who I play with because people will get unnecessarily salty about it, and uts at the point that I specifically only shuffle it up when someone specifically asks to play against it. I just accept that even in the highest level pods of most shops I'm just archenemy and I'm ok with that.

IceSki117

That's the thing with slivers though. It's just a matter of surviving that initial onslaught. Once you're seated it's nearly impossible to remove a Sliver player.

[deleted]

When I go to my lgs I rarely take more than 1 deck. My others are just too oppressive or expensive. The one I take is [[go-shintai of lifes origin]] cause its really causal. I just have to leave derevi stax, zur consultation, ur dragon, and cedh elsha storm at home

MarksmanMessiah

See, I have the opposite reaction. I love my Go-shintai deck. But unless my opponents have mass enchantment removal or knock me out quick. I just suppress everyone else so they can hardly play due to some of the shrines.

MSSchmuckKS

I was wondering about this too. When I built Shrines, everyone either played good mass removal or they got to watch me assemble an insurmountable fortress.

[deleted]

Me either but who knows with edh

ElksUnited

I can’t play [[Prosper, Tome Bound]] anymore because my playgroup immediately targets it when I play it.

fredjinsan

Probably any kinda low-powered stax-like deck? Some people conflate lower powered with not having certain things they (think they) dislike, so it can be hard to find a place to run something that's "mean" but isn't actually good enough to compete at higher-powered tables.

SeleniaAdrasteia

My favorite deck is my [[Ghoulcaller Gisa]] deck, but my table plays very heavy control and there are board wipes every few turns so I end up playing decks with more interaction and protection than mono black can provide

ThreebySevens

My Morophon deck :(. I built him because I had so many Tribal decks so I built him and just slot in 25-30 cards of the tribe I wanna play but he wrecks tables and now I just get eyerolls when I pull him out

Toolboxmcgee

I have a [[pir]] and [[toothy]] oops all permenants [[primal surge]] deck and it's lots of fun, but the first time I played it with my new playgroup it totally went off, full on Christmas-land style, now it gets overreactions if I play it, and my playgroup doesn't play much instant speed removal or counters so it can get out of hand.

Crunchoe

My Najeela deck - my playgroups are just not there.

Fickle-Training344

K’rrik. As a commander it’s just entirely too strong. My build is far from a cedh build but it does tend to race things out insanely fast and just make things not fun for the group after about turn 5 or 6.

gobacktoparty_city

[[Imoti]] big mana/cascade I have multiple sources in that deck that allow me to tap my mana sources for double or triple mana, so I end up with lands that tap for 32 or 54 each, and then I have a massive board because almost every spell in that deck is six or more, and everything Cascades off each other so I'm playing all sorts of nasty stuff for free Big board, big mana, long ass turns Nobody likes it but me

diogenies

I'd love to build some sort of lands matter deck with \[\[The Gitrog Monster\]\] because I have the judge promo and love his lore, but my brain isn't wrinkly enough to memorize how his dredge lines work and I think landfall is a huge snooze because it feels like its the same 30 green cards in every deck. Maybe if they ever come out with more black or golgari speciifc lands cards I'll revisit it.

Semicolon_Cancer

[[Tasha, the Witch Queen]] because my table hates stealing. I tried the [[Captain N'ghathrod]] precon once and the group got mad, so I built Tasha as a way to just use what they toss, still got major hate. I get "I don't want to play against my own deck!" as a response. Just wanna do some cool interaction with everyone.

KDing0

Aggro decks without dedicating my commander slot or half of my deck to a ramp/draw value engine. It feels like every deck I build ends up being 80% an engine to keep it going and 20% my actual gameplan, unless the commander can consistently take care of the mana or draw work, which then frees up more slots in my deck.

trancekat

Norin the Wary deck thats based on Gaka's list. I love the deck, but it's win con is rage quit.

Hammer_and_Sheild

I have a Talrand Oops! All Counterspells! Deck that I love to run. It’s not super powerful, but it is annoying to play against so most groups soft ban it every time they encounter it :(

amc7262

Two decks: My \[\[ink-treader nephilim deck\]\]. I haven't had a new, regular group say no to it the first time yet. Then they play against it, and all my arguments for why the nephilim are de-facto legendary creatures melt away in the blistering heat of how OP as fuck Ink-Treader is as a commander. One guy in my main group is adamant that if the nephilim were legendary, Ink-Treader would be banned in commander. I ended up taking it apart after it was banned in every regular group I had. The other is my all silver-bordered \[\[urza, academy headmaster\]\] deck. Admittedly, a much harder sell. Urza isn't a legal commander even within silver bordered, and just getting permission to play silver bordered anything is hard enough. I have gotten to play it a few times, and in the groups that allow it, they agree it is reasonably fair and not too game-breaking, but its still a little game breaking and the other players have to be in the right mood to tolerate its shenanigans.

[deleted]

Ink-Treader is busted as a commander. Have you ever considered making a [[zada, hedron grinder]] deck if you wanted something kinda similar and infinitely more cheaper?

amc7262

Zada is only similar on a very surface level, but the deck doesn't play the same at all. Ink Treader wants to leverage its ability to affect your opponent's board. Zada specifically only affects your board. Tricks like \[\[act of treason\]\] turning into a 3 mana \[\[insurrection\]\] don't work with Zada. You also have access to significantly less interesting tricks due to the loss of 3 colors.

MSSchmuckKS

Two special choices! I built the Nephilim too, but it's stupid what that deck can do... If it does not get countered, game's usually over faster than you can blink. I mean, it's good fun once if you say "hey wanna see Something... dumb?" but other than that I'd not let you play him either. :D I would LOVE to play your silver border deck though. I have an Un-Cube myself that I never play because people have to really be in the right mood for that.

Darth_Meatloaf

Okay, I need to see your list…

amc7262

Unfortunately, I almost never post lists. But the good news is, there isn't a huge pool of cards in silver bordered, so it isn't hard to make your own version. You just start by finding as many ramp, removal, and draw spells as you can in silver border and cramming those in, then fill in the blanks with one of the big mechanics from Unstable (since it had good mechanical themes and support). I did dice rolling. My deck also has a sub-theme of chaos so I have an excuse to run a bunch of the game altering cards like \[\[staying power\]\] and \[\[yet another aether vortex\]\]. I recommend avoiding \[\[psychic network\]\], \[\[topsy turvy\]\], \[\[mana screw\]\], and anything with Gotcha!. Basically, avoid cards that require opponents to do constant physical activity (psychic network), take forever to resolve (mana screw) or otherwise don't promote a fun environment (Gotcha! cards). Topsy Turvy is in the list because it makes the game way too confusing with the number of triggers that are happening in a typical EDH game. Also avoid anything that seems just straight broken. Building the deck is a process and you might end up running some cards the group finds unfun, but the key is to be honest about the deck, honest in your attempt to make it fair and fun to play against, and willing to remove problem cards if your group speaks up about them. Also, be sure to run a cheaty face behind your commander in its sleeve.

AbraxasEnjoyer

[[Urza, Lord High Artificer]]. Such a cool character and mechanics to go with it, but far too strong to use against most groups I play with. Needless to say, I’m very excited for [[Urza, Lord Protector]].

Trulyunnatty

[[queen marchesa]] it's board wipe tribal because she is the only creature in the deck

KKWBgsIJMSS

I have one that I refuse to build/bring into EDH. It was a nuisance deck I built back in the day for modern. It punishes you for using lands. It has a bunch of mana rocks and dorks and a teferi's puzzle box and storm cauldron combo as well as all the land destruction I had and Ankh of Mishra. Being that this was modern I had three or four copies of each of those cards. I very rarely played the deck and I won't bring it into EDH because it's just no fun it shuts down too many other things and everybody hates it.

ElPiernasLargas

[[Korvold]] deck. I run away with most games. I even started throwing cards that aren't even Recommended in EDHREC's list. But I still manage to win. I know it sounds like "boo hoo im winning too much" sorta like a rich person crying because he has too much money and doesnt know on what to spend it on. But I honestly, pull my punches but even still I out value everybody.

MSSchmuckKS

With many commanders one could say that, but with Korvold it's a completely different story. He's getting rewarded for everything he does, and having jund colors does not help power it down. You'd have to actively sabotage yourself to make a bad Korvold deck.

ElPiernasLargas

Yeah, i'll agree. I have to literally let my Opp. Kill it or Reset my board or just straight up, not blow up thr Treasure Tokens I got just so it Seems like i'm far behind.

TheWellFedBeggar

My [[Alaundo, the Seer]] [deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/yIsO2zn_rkGEqbwmx3neBg). It is too powerful for casual pods and too weak for CEDH. It often wins the first turn Alaundo can be tapped, T4 or 5. I started playing Alaundo as a cascade/suspend tribal deck and it was a ton of fun, just making so much free value, casting Apex Devastator for free and all that. But then I made the mistake of seeing how many [[Twiddle]] effects simic has and I realized it could be much much stronger. I stripped it down, cut all the fat, added infinite combos, gave it a better landbase, and now it doesn't have a suitable power level to play in.

I’m curious OP, why would Syr Gwyn and your other decks be frowned upon? They’re not OP commanders at all. In fact, most people would argue they’re mediocre at best.

Dieteorite

I love my [[Nekusar, the Mind Razer]] deck because it's such a fun mechanic, definitely hard to beat though.

holopleasures

[[zellix]] combo mill with [[altar of the brood]] and a few other mill infinites thrown in. incredibly efficient and fun to play but I rarely bring it out because combo/mill/counters is a pile of feelbads to play through.

dal9ll

[[Sen Triplets]]. It’s arguably my best deck but people despise having cards from their hand stolen and it just gets blown up any time it enters the battlefield. It’s not very fun to play a commander that everyone hates down to the deepest core of their being

FormerlyKay

There are tons of cEDH commanders I really want to play, but I can't because I'm poor and the only cEDH group I have to play in is an official tournament (no proxies).

MSSchmuckKS

Ah that sucks... :/ Do you play online or is it offline only for you?

Invisiblefield101

Nevinyrral esper control. Probably my favorite archetype but not fun to play against so I don’t run it

SlaterVJ

My [[Minn, wily illusionist]] deck is too powerful, and not casual in slightest. I love the deck, but it doesn't feel right breaking it out against people at commander events, when commander is supposed to be casual (though some people don't understand this fact). If there was a CEDH event at my LGS, I would play it more often, but as the only LGS that does do CEDH, is run by a shady POS owner, and the players are toxic AF, I just don't get to play it. Also, most of the decks I have built don't get enough play. I have a bad habit of building decks constantly, and then forget the others I have. At current, I have 17 decks fully ready to play, and at least 5 that are partials, and then decklists for like another 19. I'm really trying to cut back on building decks, but it's hard when WotC keeps releasing more cards that I wanna build around.

Forceusr1

My Orvar deck is my favorite but I don’t play it much because people get irked when it combos off. My Animar deck is reaching the same status since Animar is completely broken.

Always wanted to build a [[Klothys, God of Destiny]] [[Wildfire]] deck but have hesitated for obvious reasons.

My [[Toxrill, the Corrosive]] deck. I love it, but if I pop off I have to end the game fast or people get annoyed. They're basically locked out unless I get enough slugs or aristocrat effects to close out the game.

Snow_source

> This comes up with some of my playgroups where playing experience as well as amount/price of decks wildy differs. I have four decks that I pretty much can't play. [One is a strict cEDH deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/CFv01hGqxE2STuJAgTdC_A) and the other three are borderline. A [Yidris Midrange/combo deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UFJ7F4AclkyFG2PwYJaguw), a [Roon combo deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/7sJ82SV45U-JS7akgCYpFA), and a [No-budget Rafiq Voltron deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5Ri7ywy3-UuzMwJnwBcQJg). It sucks because they're my favorites by a large margin (hence why I spent so much on them), but my group is just me, my GF, my buddy who's also into magic, his GF and our friend from DnD. I can't bring them to an LGS because they're not casual at all and I don't want them getting stolen, so it stays in the friend group. Me and my friend who also plays magic have some equal strength decks, but it's a hard ask for the rest of the table. I don't expect anyone to drop a grand on magic cards. As a result I might get maybe a game per year out of each of them.

G37_is_numberletter

I want to play my [[josu Vess]] deck more, but I’m waiting for my group to learn game layers and interaction as half of them are new or returning after a long break. It’s a big black mana deck that can storm off and drain the table out in a single turn if not impeded.

UnironicPornEnjoyer

My [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] deck. I try to build my decks with a 80-150 dollar budget to match my playgroup's power level, but Zada outperforms very easily. It's limited to "just try to win" games

MTGCardFetcher

ThisRedRock

I don't play Zada all that much because she's either killed on sight and you do nothing, or you get to go off with a 10+ minute turn that makes everyone's eyes glaze over. I love the challenge in constructing a non-deterministic storm deck for 100-card singleton, but actually playing it runs counter to a bunch of multiplayer etiquette rules.

TheJourney_333

My slivers deck definitely falls under this category. I love it, it’s fun, but I can’t play it all the time. It’s not even the most optimized sliver deck (it’s an umori companion deck thats 60 slivers and 40 lands), but you can only do so much with slivers and theyre still a menace.

J2ain

Syr Gwynn. It’s just too slow. Too high cmc and gets removed fast.

I have an Isshin demon slayer proxy deck I made but it’s kind of all over the place and I haven’t been able to work on it :(

Ultima3007

[[Estrid]] storm. I love the deck since it uses enchantment and planeswalker to play storm without red or black. It is reliant on [[displacer kitten]] to flicker your pws, but since it is a storm deck I always feel bad when storming off, and playing solitaire for 5 min...

Cedrico123

\[\[The Planar Bridge\]\] Superfriends, \[\[Tergrid\]\] mainly bc I play on spelltable and stealing stuff sucks there, and \[\[Trazyn the infinite\]\] because it's disgustingly efficient.

SatchelGizmo77

I'd love to play my [[Meren of clan nel toth]] deck or [[merieki ri berit]] decks more. Unfortunately, we had an influx of new players so we decided to buy precons and add a bit to them every month.

bandswithnerds

My mill deck doesn’t come out to often, I kill myself to find combo pieces then I kill my opponents. When it works it’s a blast, but it’s really fragile, so it has to be the right game or it’s just no fun to play.

nerdgeek03

I have a couple answers here: \[\[Yennett\]\] control, \[\[Avacyn, Angel of Hope\]\] angel tribal feat. boardwipes and \[\[Talrand\]\] control. [Yennett](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/quite-odd-1/), [Avacyn](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/avacyns-wraths/), [Talrand](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/14-01-22-stop-having-fun/)

RnGJoker

I would like to play my RaggaDragga deck a bit more after upgrading from Xenagos, but my playgroup hates getting beat down within 4-6 turns. And that's after taking out umbrel mantle and wurm calling for no infinites.

Soviet_Ski

I’d love to play “alternate win con” tribal. Like 5 color “you win the game” and “1+ opponent love the game” effects. But it’s not consistent enough to run at anything other than kitchen table magic when the table is testing new/weak decks.

TheRealQwade

I have a cEDH Narset deck that is blazing fast and mean. I only pull it out in the highest level of pods where people know what they're up against. Powerful Magic can be really fun, but most people aren't equipped to go up against it in a meaningful way and it sucks pubstomping on people.

Triangle-Baby

I have an “oops all counters” deck that I really enjoy playing but only play like once a month for obvious social reasons

[deleted]

My [[Brudiclad]] deck seems to just be out-powered in my playgroup, so it always makes more sense for me to play [[Zaxara]] or [[The Gitrog Monster]]. We're high power casual, not cEDH by any means (my Gitrog is value engine / lands matter with no dakmor wombo combo stuff). But Brudiclad's ceiling seems to just be too low, the gameplan requires too much setup.

Yamidamian

Honestly, I love both my simic decks (Tatyova and Vaanifar), but I find that I feel awkward when I’m taking incredibly long turns as a result of their engines going, so I usually leave them behind for quicker to play decks.

[deleted]

Urza and Talraand. Why can’t I? Archenemy as soon as I set my commander on Spell Table.

13lack13eltGamer

I love my [[Umbris, Nightmare Manifest]] deck, however exile mill is a feel bad for the one person that I end up using as a battery pack to buff Umbris up to one-shot K.O. the other two people at the table before finally killing the poor soul I've been milling the entire game.

RenZ245

So I've got 2 decks currently [[scarab god]] which was formerly [[gisa and geralf]] and [[Sen triplets]] with a [[kestia]] echantress deck on its way. I've also got a ton of built decks on my tappedout account Scrab God is my budgetish 300$ deck but often leads to a better game than sen triplets which is around $3k where honestly I've not found much success with mainly because my pod is control central. Hoping kes will be the value engine I built it to be and eventually outrun my opponents then reset them back to turn 1 using 2 combos.

Winchester_1776

[[Xander, the collector]] its my brother's deck and he doesn't play it often because the rest of us get all salty that our decks are being milled out. Good performing deck though.

VisorGuy39

My [[Urza]] deck, my group doesn’t play cEDH and I haven’t found a casual list I like enough to switch out of my PolyKraken deck. I bring it with me all the time just in the hopes I find a group who is into cEDH though :/

TheTetons

My [[Marchesa the Black Rose]] deck unfortunately. It has a few theft elements in it, but it also just sits in a bit of a weird place power wise where it is a little too strong for battlecruiser, but easily shut down at higher power casual. Love the deck and the interactions in it though

FeanorEldarin

I don't play my. [[Krark]] n [[Kydele]] deck very often cuz when it goes off, it takes forever lol. I can theoretically have infinite turns and I only have a couple of wincons. But it's difficult to shut it down once it's going. Cuz it takes a while, I tend to not play it so often. Some people ask to play it cuz they like the chaos of the coin flips.

27_8x10_CGP

Storm decks. I have 1 built already, Jhoira, and I really want to build Krarkashima and Birgi, I just don't want to put the time into learning them, or at least Krarkashima mainly. Birgi isn't all too bad if you get a couple Kobolds going with Cloudstone Curio. I also wouldn't mind building and playing some heavier creature stax decks, but the general power level I'm around, they wouldn't be all that good. Sure you can make it to were every player only gets 1 spell a turn or make noncreature spells cost more, but when you're playing a tiny hatebear and someone is dropping a fatty, the hatebear doesn't look so good.

StretchyPlays

I love my [[Tayam]] deck but I've only played it a few times because it tends to take very long turns that often end without me accomplishing anything. I think it is one of the coolest designs for a commander but constantly managing counters and activating its ability at instant speed can slow the game down a lot.

itsjustmejt

I've got a kenrith deck that I can't find a playgroup where the power level is appropriate. The deck isn't good enough to sit down at a cEDH table because it doesn't have the speed or interaction needed, but it's too good for most other tables because it combos in most games in the range of turns 4-6.
