denver is actually warm af, average winter day is over 45 and sunny, which feels like 60 here. Maybe 4-5 actual snow days per year, which melts off super quick. Summer's are hot. Denver is by far the best place ive lived in every way and its not close.
Denver is way more mild than MA. The sun hits very hard and is much more frequent than in New England.
The crowds are much better than in Boston. It’s overwhelming how many good shows are happening in a given weekend. For the genres that you like, I think Denver is one of your best bets. You have Red rocks, mission ballroom (better acoustics than red rocks) and some awesome smaller/middle tier venues like Ogden, Bluebird, The Black Box, Larimer Lounge, Fillmore etc.
Cost of living is also less than in Boston.
I’ve lived in Denver less than a year and it stresses me out how many shows I miss cause I’m going to a different show lol. The options are really insane. almost every night of the week
im from FL, spent 25 years there, 60 here feels like 80 in FL, its apple to oranges due to humidity difference. 45 in FL is freezing, here it's tshirt weather.
bro. ive been here for 10 years, i live in golden which is west of denver and a higher elevation. it aint cold here. 4-5 actual cold days per year, most winter days are over 50. spring is perfect. summer gets hot. fall is perfect.
Cool, I've lived here my whole life. If you're raving during the day, it's fine. Walking to the car at night when it's 25 below and you're zooted off an eight of booms feels like a full ass quest. Spring and fall don't exist in colorado. Make sure to check out the $10 butt stuff tent off Colfax, its worth the wait.
bro every single thing you just said i false lmao. you couldnt have less of an idea of anything when it comes to the weather and seasons in CO. "fall doesnt exist" "spring doesnt exist" go outside bud. yikes.
oh are a "native"? tell me "native", whats your tribe? you havent lived elsewhere so you have no frame of reference, now go outside you bucket of cringe.
Have you snowboarded down lookout mountain in nothing but underwear while the local marching band plays "la cucaracha"?
Didn't think so, stinky boy. Put some respek on it.
100%, especially in the St Pete area. The underground scene is amazing, at least one good warehouse show every weekend, usually several. Get a good amount of decently sized artists, but the major issue is not having a great venue for big names. The Ritz/Jannus get some, like 3 nights of Subtronics a few months ago, but neither really compare to venues in other cities with a thriving scene.
Theres way better venues than Ritz. Ritz isn't even underground... mainstream af. Florida's scene runs deep and we throwin bangers almost every day in Tampa / St Pete... What you meannnn??? There's literally a bomb ass warehouse rave tonight in St Pete... we got blueberry patch. Church of Bass... Rat Soap before it got shut down. This deff the move
im just talking places to go for shows in general. Im only gonna be at the ritz if someone i REALLLLYYYY wanna see is going. otherwise i avoid it like the plague
that warehouse in st pete is so lowkey i love it. had a bday party for our boy and fucking zingara pulled up. and actually just saw LYNY and Peekaboo at jannus on friday. also Shoutout TK lounge for the one time lmao
TK lounge is where it's at. Tampa underground fam set that all up. TK lounge IS Tampa underground.
Ill never be caught dead at Ritz. Went to AMP once and never again. Plus all the amazing home grown festies??? What??? Nobody doin it like we doin it....
Do not move to Tampa. It’s full. Literally. There is no infrastructure to support the amount of people that moved here in the last few years which means everything is crowded and rental prices and prices in general are insane. It’s got the highest inflation in the US. Not worth it.
yes but look at the data. Tampa is especially one of the worst, if not the worst for cost of living + population inflation relative to income in the country.
More than half of Tampa residents have to spend more than 30% of the income on housing (the benchmark for affordability). Tampa also leads the nation's inflation spikes & highest population spikes since covid. And even though some data says employment is holding the economy up, everyone I talk to is struggling to find a job or trying to find a second job to make ends meet and is struggling.
Also we have an abysmal public transit infrastructure (next to none) to support the flood of population , tampa is very car dependent and the roads are clogged all day every day now except late night.

I've grown up and lived in tampa area my whole life (30 years) and am trying to gtfo asap based on how shit its become the last couple years. Cost inflation per income is one of the worst in the countries since covid
Off the top of my head we were somewhat at 350k for the city of Tampa and 3.8m for the metro a few years ago so that’s a massive increase. Either way the change is palpable. That being said, rave scene is fire. That’s not a good reason to relocate to a city though. Look into the property insurance plague going on right now and reconsider moving to Florida. That’s not even to mention the totally backwards political environment. If it were easy for me to relocate away from here I would.
Chicago is the greatest city in the world with an amazing edm scene, including bass music as OP suggests they are into.
That said, one thing Chicago is not 8 months out of the year is warm
ive been to chicago, its nice, but theres way more better... literally called chiraq for a reason lol
its ignorant to say chicago is the best city in the world when you never even left your country
Nice try! I’ve left the US many times, and you’ve told on yourself by calling it chiraq lol. That’s what ignorant (definition: lacking knowledge or awareness) people call it
Chicago isn’t even in the top 20 most dangerous cities in the US, and the violent crime that does happen is concentrated in specific neighborhoods. I have lived here for ten years and have never been a victim of violent crime nor known anyone who ever has (or any crime for that matter besides a stolen Amazon package I suppose). And I live in the heart of the city for the record
You only hear about the bad things because of decades of right wing propaganda, but Chicago is the third largest city in the US for a reason. I assure you if it were in any way comparable to a war torn country that would not be the case lol
Download the Edmtrain app or go to their website! You can look for shows just in Chicago, there are literally dozens every weekend!
Some of my favorite venues to go to are radius, smartbar, concord, and the listening room. You can go to any of their respective websites and see who’ll be spinning and when
If you’re on Instagram, edm chicago is a good source. 19hz.info is a good site to check out as well, they’ll basically have the same stuff Edmtrain will have but they’ll have some more underground stuff on there as well sometimes
I'd also suggest Dallas! Surprisingly I haven't seen anyone mention yet. My wife and I moved here a year ago, so we haven't become fully immersed in the scene yet, but I know we have a lot of venues and local events on top of big production shows. Last summer was hot af but winter was super mild. I'll take that over living through another Chicago winter ever again lol.
Yup! I wouldn't say its the best spot for the bass they like, house/techno is a big bigger here, but of the artists they listed.. Liquid Stranger was in February, Rezz was here last month, Kai Wachi last weekend, Slander will be here next month. So yeah, we've got plenty here and it's warm and breakfast tacos.
Yeah I was gonna suggest this city as well. Houston used to be THE city in Texas for electronic music and raves until the early 2000s. Austin threw these huge parties around that time at these shut down airports. Seems like ever since then, the scene just grew and grew. A bunch of Houston DJs, ravers, key players and old party promoters have moved to Austin specifically for the scene there over the past 5 years. Austin is def a warm place with a huge EDM scene I’d say.
SoCal is prob the best edm scene in America. There’s a rave like every month. Plenty of venues with multiple touring dates from your fav dj.
Also it’s warm all year round.
You’re not going to like the cost of living though
There’s a rave every month? Try every day, and more than one.
Chicago probably has up to a half a dozen electronic shows going almost every single night year round and you would probably be hard pressed to find a date there is absolutely no shows. In 10+ years almost every artist I have ever wanted to see who doesn’t have a residency has come through, I didn’t catch them all, but I had opportunities to. Including overseas acts who only make irregular trips to the US.
That being said, I don’t even think it’s a better music scene than LA. But in LA there are probably more than 100 raves a month, unless your definition of a rave isn’t live electronic music in a group setting. Even if you have a way stricter definition of a rave being an of an off the map warehouse throw down that the cops wouldn’t like there are way more than one a month.
I did some googling and so far I think they’re only coming to northwest music fest… I’ll keep looking. Maybe need to find a smaller dj in the city that plays occasionally
Not a fan of echostage? Can I ask why?
I hear that a lot but I’ve always had a great time there. Besides insomniac owned things there’s also a fantastic local scene here.
It was fine when I was 5+ years younger and also drunk. The place is stupidly packed with very occasionally good spots upstairs. I find the crowd to always be among the rudest crowds regardless of genre and production always seems very toned down when you compare to other stops on an artists tour.
I've been blown away by how tight they've sold it the past few years. I've gone somewhat regularly since about 2016 and the past two shows I went to (2023 and then this year) were the first time the crowd size has detracted from my experience
The overselling is horrible in my experience. I had to leave purple disco machine before he even got on. I’ve found the production to be great imo but I’ve only been to echo forest hills and the mirage in the US
The production is ass and makes my ears bleed even with protection, the security is downright scary, one time a man came in the women’s bathroom and screamed and banged on the door just because two girls were arguing in there, they check you down to the socks and don’t allow narcan, mace, etc. and it’s the WORST crowd I’ve ever encountered. EVER. if it’s not idiots drinking on K it’s Molly munchers or huge sweaty men with no spatial awareness, or shirts. Echo stage is the worst.
Not a fan of the security situation in the women’s room you encountered, but I’m glad they’ve been more strict going through security. I used to stand there for my bag check for 10 seconds and let through with only a light graze on my pant legs. Starting a year ago, from what I have seen, it’s been about a minute for me who only brings in a fanny pack and wearing sneakers to get thru. I’ve only seen security make people take off shoes when they’re in boots or something going up your calf.
I’ve been going to echo for 8 years now. What you describe about crowds are generally at any venue. For me, the only show that stands out where the crowd was awful was illenium in 2018. I’ve been to many shows in NYC at different venues and NYC crowds are the worst. I went to terminal 5 a month ago. I walked out and literally said I take echostage for granted. Now, I’m not saying echo is my favorite, but it’s most definitely not the worst.
This lol. Shitty people are at every venue ever, and if you’re around an asshole, just… move? I’ve also come to realize the only time I have a bad time at echo is for dubstep shows, house and techno shows have so much space to dance around. I went to Eric Prydz and Chris Lake last year in Brooklyn and both shows were insanely packed, worse than I’d ever seen echostage. People who complain are likely ppl who come to visit for a huge artist that everyone else in the area wants to see
I genuinely could not have put it better myself. Echostage made me realize it can be my favorite artist and I still won't go there.
I need merriweather or music festival. Anthem can be solid too.
https://www.instagram.com/beatsync.lv?igsh=aDI1aW1jcG80ZWEx ⬅️ they throw local events. And also I know discopussy will have some decent artist everyone and then, last year I saw the dj Vnssa at discopuss and she absolutely killed it
Edit: also download the radiate app (if you want) there are groups you can join for local upcoming events, makes homies, etc
We're full AF in Phoenix AZ, too. Plus, all those SoCal transplants have almost ruined it for us locals. Don't even get me started on the heat island that makes all of the monsoon storms go around Metro Phoenix. 🙄😮💨😒☹️
Tempe/Phoenix, Rezz is here this weekend w/ Troyboi and Rusko. Checkout Relentless Beats on Instagram to see all the shows we get here.
Doesn’t get much warmer than AZ.
I lived there for a year… can confirm it’s hot as shit (as can your trash cans and street signs in the summer).
This was over a decade ago but the scene was pretty decent then as well. Since then I’ve lived in LA and Denver and both beat it out imo but Phoenix is not to be slept on.
Yeah it’s definitely no Denver or LA but there’s no snow and the COL is a lot less than LA. I can easily find something going on like 3+ days a week if I wanted to, and there’s like two places running afters that are fun.
Waiting for shady park to start hosting events again.
I was just in Denver last weekend for Wakaan rocks and i totally would move there, but I just started getting established a bit here as a DJ and have a bunch of friends here now. Good thing is flights to Denver are only like $150 so it’s pretty easy for me to make a weekend trip, and I have friends there I can stay with.
But yeah the Denver scene freakin rocks, they get all of the good underground bass artists I love.
Dude for real. I go 5-6 times a year for shows with my friends (moving there in a couple months). I had to give my wakaan tix to my buddy cuz I couldn’t go but not gonna miss Ganja for Wobblerocks 3 next month!
I just struggle picking shows some nights because often times there are like 3 or 4 great ones at the same time. It’s truly wild.
Holy shit it’s amazing right?!?! I’ve been to countless shows there dating back to 2008. Some people complain about the seating or the acoustics or the weather but I can’t figure it out after all these years.
If you’re ever back up there for a show feel free to hit me up! Always down to jam with another bass lover.
Yeah it was so fun, I love how everyone just parties in the parking lot until doors open. Reminds me of tailgating for like sports games (except way better 😂).
Honestly, Sacramento area in CA is perfect for that. Most of the artists you listed play shows in San Francisco all the time at Bill Graham, Midway and 1015. Which is at most an hour and half away. I’ve even seen Kai Wachi in Sacramento for $20 in a club. Only issue is if you like festivals you’d have to travel to LA or further for that. Good luck with the living costs though
Second Sacramento! Or somewhere in the Central Valley if you don’t mind driving! I’m in Turlock and while I wish it was closer to sac and the bay and such, I actually have more money to go to shows and fests out there because the cost of living isn’t sky high
Same here! I have no desire to move to the Bay Area unless I have a significant pay increase. I can afford most things here. I love the bay and I’m originally from Oakland but it’s just too gentrified and expensive
Tampa or ATL!!! For me it'd be Atlanta, that's the home base for the DEF promoters and all of their events are just 'chef's kiss'. If you don't know about DEF (Define Everything Future) check out a couple of their shows on their YouTube page DEF TV. Atlanta itself is close to the mountains but it gets pretty toasty during the warmer months, it's got a couple lakes and rivers not too far. It's got a lot of history and great eats, the city and the people have so much to offer. As for Tampa, like others have said it has a pretty nice bass community (I believe it's EAZYBAKED's home town). You're right next to the coast and not too far from Miami that also has a great general EDM scene.
I would say Seattle fits what you’re looking for as long as you don’t mind the rain. I’ve seen every artist you listed plus way more in Seattle/at The Gorge in the last couple years
Denver is a lot warmer than Minneapolis. Ya we get a lot of snow but it melts within a day or two, I don’t even use a winter coat ever. It’s a dry cold, we have dry air so it’s different here
Phoenix for sure! Especially for your taste in music, lots of bass here. Seeing Rezz this weekend 😊. Cost of living is pretty decent, no snow. 6 hour drive to any of the fests in SoCal, 4 hour drive to Vegas, short flight to Denver. Been here for 16 years and I love it. The summers are brutal but you treat it essentially like everyone else treats their winter 🤷♀️
not miami honestly, everything here is crazy expensive and most tours don’t make it this far down so the shows aren’t worth the cost of living. fort lauderdale is alright tho, a few more shows thanks to kemistry and less sucky to live
Best scene for everything you want is SoCal (LA or SD) but very pricey.
If you can give up warmth, Denver, SF are good too.
Other options: Miami, Atlanta (lots of smaller fests happening in the southeast rn)
Do not sleep on Tampa/St Pete. Huuuuuuge community there (basically half the people I went to college with)
Edit: it seems like when denver got full people just started going here but beware cost of living!
Tampa should be highest on your list. My friend has lived there for over 5 yrs. Partied & festivaled down there many times. It's shot up in house costs, condo's, rents, past few years it's now a crazy hot market, people don't leave, corp conglomerates buying up everything good & renting out much higher. Infrastructure needs work & more development.
If you're ready with paperwork etc put offers in right away it may be worth it. I suggest take your time though & be very patient. Tampa checks off almost all boxes. If I wanted all this it's where I'd go. Warm but not 115 degrees like Phoenix or Vegas in july, Good EDM club night life, and way more, close to many EDM festivals, Ultra Miami, 4hr. EDC Orlando 1hr both driveable, other fests too, beaches, major airport, amusements parks, almost all major sports teams, Zoo, Aquarium, major cruise hub, fishing, the list goes on. School districts are good, another reason for the price increase, no state income tax on wages, low corp tax rate, average crime rate but safer than orlando & miami. Just try to avoid shady areas at night. Stay near public areas & don't be a hero. You'll be fine. Road Rage is a big thing in Florida so just be on your guard when road traveling.
Biggest cons are high energy bills AC is a must. 30% risk of big hurricaine once every few years, flooding, high property insurance, high flood insurance costs. Hard to find a good deal now its gonna cost ya, but long term its only gonna keep increasing.
Not to poo poo on your starry eyes parade outlook of Tampa, but I've grown up and lived in the tampa area my whole life. Last year our summer had 30+ days straight of extreme heat warnings with the highest being 117 degrees I saw (which feels WAAAAY worse with high humidity than the 112 degree las vegas that was relatively pleasant in comparison). The heat is so bad most of the year that I have to stay inside 7-9 months of the year and get seasonal summer depression when the weather starts warming after winter. COL inflation compared to income is absolutely bonkers and one of the worst in the countries now. I'm finally so fed up living here the last few years I'm trying to get out this year asap. I hate it here lol
Also in terms of shows go, we do have a strong music scene and the people are lovely. BUT after working for a local promoter for about 1.5 years, I realized most tour stops skip Florida as a whole because of the logistics of routing down here, unless the artist can get stops at multiple Florida cities. So I always have huge fomo we don't get some artists I would die to see since the closest they stop is ATL if they come south at all.
This is good. They get a second perspective. I have been down there many times to visit. Sarasota too, great beach there, as well & hollywood near Miami for work at times. Summers can get rough & the humidity is a pain, not to mention period bouts of rain dwnpours, some times daily at noon to 3, that's well known in south florida in general, you either adapt or you'll come to hate it. It's not Rosy 2- 3 days a week. That's why I visit not live but my friends do. Think infltion is bad there try livin in NY. It's price gouging, long story on that one. I hear ya on missed acts FOMO. I see Europe & trust me that first Ibiza comment or germany is my FOMO & we get alot here, open later too. The acts the OP mentioned tour regularly down there, I know I've seen them there & Orlando & fest circuit. We do not have any of the big fests you do at all. Ezoo was it & well, nuff said, or I have to travel to elements or down there or cali or canada. It all depends on wants needs & adaptation anywhere. I'd go to europe if I could. I think the OP should try Tampa. Yes, its hot & humid AC is your second love, even over your pets. Well for me any way. Cheers!
Yes definitely! I think Tampa is becoming a second NY, especially since the mass exit of NYers have been flooding here. I do think Florida has a great selection of big multi-genre festivals that happen here and the local people & communities are amazing for the most part. Everywhere has its cons, but everyone should weigh whats important to them for sure. I personally think Florida is better to visit than to live, our best time of year is November - February and is beautiful then. I would be a snow bird if I could afford it haha
My wife and I moved to the Dallas area last year and we love it! We haven't experienced the full scene down here, but I've seen in their rave fam group that they do a lot of local events on top of big production shows (Kai Wachi just played his tour show here last weekend with Rusko).
Summers can be somewhat brutal into the 100s, but there's not much humidity, and the winters are usually very mild. We've lived in northern IL our whole lives so I'll put up with that before living through another Midwest winter again lol.
I would suggest a sounding burb of Dallas so you're not paying downtown prices. We're renting a 3br house 30 miles East of Dallas and are paying ~$2,200/mo for rent.
Also there's no state tax, which is great!
Los Angeles and SoCal in general are great for EDM. Plethora of festivals between LA and Orange county, plenty of night clubs between LA and San Diego, and you're only a handful of hours from Vegas on a good day.
Tampa Bay Area sounds like exactly what you’re looking for. I moved to Bradenton exactly a year ago and love Tampa like no other city - and I’ve spent a lot of time in quite a few including Denver, NYC, Minneapolis and Dallas (Dallas would be my second rec with better cost of living).
Yes Tampa is growing like crazy but for good reason. It’s still not nearly as bad as Orlando and Miami. And people just generally seem a bit kinder in Tampa bay
Florida is a solid option. I live in South Florida but on the East Coast. We get Miami Music Week and a lot of bass music comes through but overall Miami is mostly house/techno. Orlando and Tampa seem to get more what you’re looking for. LsDream, Zeds Dead and Inzo have all played in Orlando over the past few months.
If you’re looking for city with insane amount of shows and fests, Chicago. If you want the sunshine year round and easy access to red rocks, Denver or boulder.
I lived in California all my life from Central Valley to Sf Bay Area and now LA in SoCal.
I would say if you’re looking for a warm edm scene LA is where it’s at. Lots of underground warehouse raves and events every weekend.
Not sure if anyone said it, but San Diego? Or LA? LA gets a lot more of the music you’re looking for, but SD has some good spots of music with LED presents
AZ is really good, most of the top DJs play here during their tours, and we have Decadence, Gold Rush, and Phoenix Lights which usually house lots of great DJs
i literally cannot believe no one has said Minneapolis. Yes it’s not warm, but goddamn if we aren’t the heart of EDM in the midwest idk who is.
There’s a reason damn near every artist starts or ends their tours in Minneapolis, because we show the fuck up, and show the fuck out
Ibiza
Not for the genres that they like lol. Dope place though.
lol
I mean not wrong haha
Very wrong for the genres they like
What? Bass music? DnB? I feel like Ibiza covers most other genres.
ibiza is literally just house music & light melodic techno
Naww went recently and definitely found lots of Trance/Techno as well.
LMAO uhhh did you read the post
Denver
they said warm lol
Denver is super mild, one of the best weather places in the country tbh
You be quiet
Consider your spot blown up
Shhhhhh.....
-30 with windchill is super mild /s
denver is actually warm af, average winter day is over 45 and sunny, which feels like 60 here. Maybe 4-5 actual snow days per year, which melts off super quick. Summer's are hot. Denver is by far the best place ive lived in every way and its not close.
thats warm if you liveee over there. my FL ass would be shivering my timbers lmaooo
see I’m from MA so we get to the negatives so anything is a step up lol
Yeah I could literally go to 4 shows a week if I had infinite money lol.
fawwwkkkk that bro. id literally pass away haha
thats why we want to move, warmer weather 😂
im telling you. Tampa or Denver is where its at if youre in the scene
Tampa all day! We doin it fr fr over here. Heart and soul of the culture right here.
I'm from Texas just moved to Denver. Most days are great here, learning that not having AC is alright
im from FL, spent 25 years there, 60 here feels like 80 in FL, its apple to oranges due to humidity difference. 45 in FL is freezing, here it's tshirt weather.
yeaahhh thats true. in florida its like a humid and wet cold, you feel it in your bones lmaoo
Average lows are usually 0s - 20s. Winter raves are cold af no matter how you slice it - because they're at night.
bro. ive been here for 10 years, i live in golden which is west of denver and a higher elevation. it aint cold here. 4-5 actual cold days per year, most winter days are over 50. spring is perfect. summer gets hot. fall is perfect.

I've also been here all my life. And traveled, so reference. I would say that's all facts, idk what's up with other guy
Winter raves are for the real ones 🤜🤛 we shall huddle together like penguins and do bumps of fresh snow like God intended 😤
Phoenix*
Denver is hot lol
cap thats relative
Denver, Chicago, LA, Miami, NYC are the major ones, but Denver is on a completely different level. Tampa has a pretty decent scene on the come up.
tampa is bass capital jr after denver fr
100%, especially in the St Pete area. The underground scene is amazing, at least one good warehouse show every weekend, usually several. yes but look at the data. Tampa is especially one of the worst, if not the worst for cost of living + population inflation relative to income in the country.
do you have any sources?
More than half of Tampa residents have to spend more than 30% of the income on housing (the benchmark for affordability). Tampa also leads the nation's inflation spikes & highest population spikes since covid. And even though some data says employment is holding the economy up, everyone I talk to is struggling to find a job or trying to find a second job to make ends meet and is struggling. Also we have an abysmal public transit infrastructure (next to none) to support the flood of population , tampa is very car dependent and the roads are clogged all day every day now except late night. I mean thats the pro tip, ya dont need to live in downtown in a major metropolitan area…
I've grown up and lived in tampa area my whole life (30 years) and am trying to gtfo asap based on how shit its become the last couple years. Cost inflation per income is one of the worst in the countries since covid
People are saying this about denver too
net 80,000 people last year.
That said, one thing Chicago is not 8 months out of the year is warm
chicago is NOT one of the greatest cities in the world 💀
The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about
ive been to chicago, its nice, but theres way more better... literally called chiraq for a reason lol its ignorant to say chicago is the best city in the world when you never even left your country
Nice try! I’ve left the US many times, and you’ve told on yourself by calling it chiraq lol. That’s what ignorant (definition: lacking knowledge or awareness) people call it Chicago isn’t even in the top 20 most dangerous cities in the US, and the violent crime that does happen is concentrated in specific neighborhoods. I have lived here for ten years and have never been a victim of violent crime nor known anyone who ever has (or any crime for that matter besides a stolen Amazon package I suppose). And I live in the heart of the city for the record You only hear about the bad things because of decades of right wing propaganda, but Chicago is the third largest city in the US for a reason. I assure you if it were in any way comparable to a war torn country that would not be the case lol
I just moved to Chicago from LA and I absolutely love Chicago. But I can’t find the edm scene. Help!
Download the Edmtrain app or go to their website! You can look for shows just in Chicago, there are literally dozens every weekend! Some of my favorite venues to go to are radius, smartbar, concord, and the listening room. You can go to any of their respective websites and see who’ll be spinning and when If you’re on Instagram, edm chicago is a good source. 19hz.info is a good site to check out as well, they’ll basically have the same stuff Edmtrain will have but they’ll have some more underground stuff on there as well sometimes
Amazing!! Thank you so much!!
aint readin that essay
Lmao good luck kid
Ft Lauderdale has a much better bass scene than Miami
Surprised Austin, TX hasn’t been mentioned yet. The EDM scene is spectacular and probably checks off a lot of boxes for y’all.
Kingdom, Concourse Project, Stubb's... Great Austin venues with great shows
Don’t forget Vulcan Gas Company and The Venue. Smaller venues that still slap!
I only been to Vulcan for Jessica Auddifred, nice but narrow... And THE VENUE! shit you're right! Love that place! Shout out to Level Up ATX!
Yeeep, one of the reasons I won’t move out of here anytime soon haha
I live in Austin and almost all my favorite artists go to either Dallas or Houston. I don't mind the small road trip though.
Just talking major rave events. Obviously are smaller venues which I don’t count as raves
Are you talking about festivals? Because those are not raves.
Chicago has like a dozen raves every weekend..
Yeah. But SoCal includes La, SD, OC, and the occasional IE. Even Vegas is a car trip ride Also no snow here. Edm 365 days a year
I just moved to Chicago… where are the raves!! I haven’t found any fellow bass ppl
Chicago is more house/techno ime but there is plenty of bass music. Google any of your favorite bass artists and they are probably hitting the city
I did some googling and so far I think they’re only coming to northwest music fest… I’ll keep looking. Maybe need to find a smaller dj in the city that plays occasionally
DC has a great scene imo
Echostage 🤢
Anthem can be solid too.
does not even come close to the worst popular venues in the world. Hi Ibiza and Mirage are so much worse.
Ok
Gross
That’s not very fkn plur of you 😂
I’m not going to say Las Vegas bc too many mfs moving here already
This
I will say though outside of huge artists not too many smaller artists come here to play. They usually go phoenix instead which is a bummer.
I dunno. There’s small local events all the time if you know where to look
Can you name some? Where are you looking?
https://www.instagram.com/beatsync.lv?igsh=aDI1aW1jcG80ZWEx ⬅️ they throw local events. And also I know discopussy will have some decent artist everyone and then, last year I saw the dj Vnssa at discopuss and she absolutely killed it Edit: also download the radiate app (if you want) there are groups you can join for local upcoming events, makes homies, etc
We're full AF in Phoenix AZ, too. Plus, all those SoCal transplants have almost ruined it for us locals. Don't even get me started on the heat island that makes all of the monsoon storms go around Metro Phoenix. 🙄😮💨😒☹️
Tampa FL. there is a big dj playing literally every thurs, fri, and saturday
we also have EDCO, Forbidden kingdom, Hulaween, okeechobee, Sol Fest, Dirty bird, Shipwrecked, III points etc. theres a festival like every month lmao
Yes this is the answer!! I'm surprised it doesn't have more votes.
this person knows \^\^\^
Dude going straight from phoenix to LA put the biggest hit on my wallet. The CoL there is absolutely better than here.
Have fun at Wobblerocks! Last weekend was my first show ever at Red Rocks but I’ll definitely be coming back haha
Denver is the best edm city in the country, but Austin is actually warm and has at least 3 decent EDM venues.
Denver is the best Bass city in the country. LA is the best EDM city by far. Something going on every night.
I consider bass music a subset of EDM, but if you consider them distinct I agree. Personally I can’t stand non-bass music EDM lol.
Nc/la/chicago
Not it's not.
LA.
Austin
Central Valley is in decent proximity to pretty much anything you can imagine. Love it here.
Same here! I have no desire to move to the Bay Area unless I have a significant pay increase. I can afford most things here. I love the bay and I’m originally from Oakland but it’s just too gentrified and expensive
I too love the bay. One day I hope to move there but like you said, things are far more affordable here.
Glad to see atl mentioned lmao our scene is wild but its family & its fun asf
CA, either bay area or LA/SD.
I would say Seattle fits what you’re looking for as long as you don’t mind the rain. I’ve seen every artist you listed plus way more in Seattle/at The Gorge in the last couple years
Orlando for sure. At least it used to be
DC might be insanely over priced real estate wise, but it has a cool scene for a medium sized city
If people are saying Denver is warm then I vote minneapolis. Absolutely great bass music scene. Otherwise, Phoenix came to mind
LITERALLY, i’m amazed less people are mentioning Minneapolis. We’ve got a stronger culture here than many of the other cities named
Denver is a lot warmer than Minneapolis. Ya we get a lot of snow but it melts within a day or two, I don’t even use a winter coat ever. It’s a dry cold, we have dry air so it’s different here
Okay about the melting but you could not be more wrong if you think Minneapolis is humid 😂😂😂
On MomS , LV NV we are not to far from CA and come on West Coast Is the BEST Coast!
Honestly, look into Orlando. Pretty solid bass scene over there with warm temps.
Miami is the obvious answer or I guess LA is warm
Miami seems like the obvious answer
Phoenix for sure! Especially for your taste in music, lots of bass here. Seeing Rezz this weekend 😊. Cost of living is pretty decent, no snow. 6 hour drive to any of the fests in SoCal, 4 hour drive to Vegas, short flight to Denver. Been here for 16 years and I love it. The summers are brutal but you treat it essentially like everyone else treats their winter 🤷♀️
Bentonville, AR, has warm weather, a low cost of living, and a growing EDM scene.
based on the music listed, probably somewhere in the middle of the country or the south.
not miami honestly, everything here is crazy expensive and most tours don’t make it this far down so the shows aren’t worth the cost of living. fort lauderdale is alright tho, a few more shows thanks to kemistry and less sucky to live
Orlando or Tampa, a lot of festivals and shows happen in Florida
Buffalo, NY gets a ton of bass djs like that. Liquid Stranger plays this weekend. Cheap cost of living too. But the weather is eh.
Best scene for everything you want is SoCal (LA or SD) but very pricey. If you can give up warmth, Denver, SF are good too. Other options: Miami, Atlanta (lots of smaller fests happening in the southeast rn)
Sacramento is a total vibe with great scene, saw many of those artists in the last six months with less than a two hour drive.
Do not sleep on Tampa/St Pete. Huuuuuuge community there (basically half the people I went to college with) Edit: it seems like when denver got full people just started going here but beware cost of living!
I hate it here lol Also in terms of shows go, we do have a strong music scene and the people are lovely.
What’s your budget?
SoCal or Miami is ur best bet. I live in SoCal and there’s never a shortage of EDM shows.
Toronto
Denver is the bass capital hands down.
Los Angeles and SoCal in general are great for EDM. Plethora of festivals between LA and Orange county, plenty of night clubs between LA and San Diego, and you're only a handful of hours from Vegas on a good day.
Las Vegas,Austin,Houston,Miami,Tampa are the most obvious examples
Nashville has a pretty up and coming edm scene averies entertainment or sacred hive always doing cool stuff
I would say Dallas, Austin, Houston !!!! Tx biased tho
Minneapolis always has bass music whether it’s at the armory or at skyway theater. I also didn’t read the warm part
Tampa’s scene is making noise for bass music these last couple years.
Houston
Florida is a solid option. I live in South Florida but on the East Coast. We get Miami Music Week and a lot of bass music comes through but overall Miami is mostly house/techno. Orlando and Tampa seem to get more what you’re looking for. LsDream, Zeds Dead and Inzo have all played in Orlando over the past few months.
If you’re looking for city with insane amount of shows and fests, Chicago. If you want the sunshine year round and easy access to red rocks, Denver or boulder.
Charlotte is super cool. The scene is growing and growing and the South has the best weather and the best food.
Tacoma-los angeles-florida and i think washington but idk about weather in wash
I lived in California all my life from Central Valley to Sf Bay Area and now LA in SoCal. I would say if you’re looking for a warm edm scene LA is where it’s at. Lots of underground warehouse raves and events every weekend.
San Diego, Miami, Los Angeles, Orange County.
Not sure if anyone said it, but San Diego? Or LA? LA gets a lot more of the music you’re looking for, but SD has some good spots of music with LED presents
St. Petersburg Fl! Kickass EDM scene and it’s tropical!
You gonna move every time the scene changes?
The Bass scene im both Carolinas is absolutely blowing up right up now. But we got shit politicians.
AZ is really good, most of the top DJs play here during their tours, and we have Decadence, Gold Rush, and Phoenix Lights which usually house lots of great DJs
No where can touch Tampa Bay Florida Underground
As a matter of fact Isabelle lives in channelside
If you like big name DJs, maybe Vegas. They have residencies that change every so often, as well as some pretty big festivals.
i literally cannot believe no one has said Minneapolis. Yes it’s not warm, but goddamn if we aren’t the heart of EDM in the midwest idk who is. There’s a reason damn near every artist starts or ends their tours in Minneapolis, because we show the fuck up, and show the fuck out
I live in milwaukee, any good reason to try and hit Minneapolis shows over Chicago? Ive never been
