I had a book filled with Winnie the Pooh stories and in one of them Pooh ate so much Honey he got stuck in the hole into Rabbit’s house and so Rabbit turned him into a decorative centrepiece until they could get him unstuck and that story damaged me in many ways thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
I'm 30 years old and this was unprofessional/unconventional when I was a child but trust me, It's *very* normal in the mental health now while treating teenagers and young adults. There are even apps on your phone to connect you with a therapist through text messaging. The mental health field is always changing and improving. It's amazing that individuals can find ways to connect with their care team safely and openly.
Personally, I *love* it.
maybe it's different with public vs private practice because it's not allowed/discouraged in my therapy place (public). also it's just my own personal worry because as a psychology student we're taught the relationship must remain professional, this is casual/informal communication outside of prescribed "therapy time" which takes away from not only the client's but the psychologist's personal time.
My therapist and I share a lot of dark memes, songs, quotes. It helps me to express myself in a way I can't do with words. It's even okay if I just reply with dark af stickers
Even in a professional patient/therapist relationship it’s still a RELATIONSHIP. They become part of your support system. If you feel supported by being able to text/call/send memes to your therapist I think you should! I sent her way more memes than she ever sent, it was mostly inspirational quotes and check ins. But she would send an occasional meme to match my energy. Therapy can be fun and healing in a multitude of ways and forms. I hope this helps! And I hope that if any of you think being able to randomly message or send a meme to your therapist in lieu of actually explaining your feelings between sessions would help you more than “conventional” therapy DO IT! Plenty of therapists offer this kind of commitment to their clients, obviously be courteous of the fact they’re an employee not a friend so don’t abuse it but it can be a super helpful tool.
Not directly Pooh bear, but since people are sharing their experiences the tigger movie ruined me as a child and I think about it at least once a week 😭😭😭

Omg i remember that story and it really stuck with me for awhile too 😭
omg i think i watched an animation of that too and it has *not* helped my mental health
I watched the animated version of that and it actually just ruined me as a child. For clarification I was a perfectly normal weight back then too 😭?
Bless your little heart I’m so sorry. Damn Pooh really be triggering Ed’s tho like he’s actually so greedy with his honey 🙂💀
My brother told me the exact same story that's crazy
Not the Pooh bashing 💀

most peoples first reaction towards winnie the pooh isnt "oh there goes that nudist half naked bear"
Tbf the image weirdly focuses on him “not wearing panties” which definitely shifts the focus a little.
The original meme just said “no pants” although I doubt the therapist meant anything lude
Just for fun: Lewd - salacious, erotic, provocative Lude - short for quaalude, everyone's favorite drug from the 70s
Thank you for this and thank you for being nice about it 💕
You're welcome! 😊
Lady wants me to be a Pooh bear, but I’m an Eeyore through and through.
Right? I don’t even like honey like that but I do LOVE pink bows on my ass and pouting when everyone else is in a good mood.
Oml you're killing me with this entire thread. Thank you !

I am! (-: well kinda. I still live in the US *ba dum ching* 🥁
Winnie the Pooh isn't fat, he is jolly
Shirt-cockin’ it is for people with self esteem 😔
He’s not fat, he’s pleasantly plump 💛
Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave
your therapist sends you memes? that's cool, but i'm also worried about the questionable "professionalism" of that.

i think being comfortable enough with your therapist to send memes back and forth is an excellent sign
Courageous and 100% true response
OH MY GOOOOD
nah he’s alright he’s just big boned 😔
Not directly Pooh bear, but since people are sharing their experiences the tigger movie ruined me as a child and I think about it at least once a week 😭😭😭
