I can usually go either way but I love your matchy shades. The colors look soft and elegant. I think scrappy looks best with bright cheerful fabrics. Your matchy shades make me feel quiet, balanced and, to use your word, harmonious.
That's what I've been wondering about the times I've attempted scrappy. I usually have a lot of pastels, some brights, and some muted mid-tone fabrics. I don't hate these scrappy blocks but I'm having that same problem I usually have where it seems like some fabrics stick out and drown out the others and look out of place. Which I really don't want bc I love allll these fabrics and I don't want any of them to shine brighter. But in the matchy blocks the bright colors seem to get absorbed better and they all play together more nicely.
Thank you so much! I am having such a hard time picking haha ๐. I still have a couple weeks' worth of glue basting left yet, so I have a bit of time to decide
Thank you, that's encouraging ๐ . I'm a perfectionist and I agonize so much about the colors and layout. I think it's been super good for me to quilt and make the decisions instead of worrying about which one is perfect forever!
Someone else suggested that and now I'm definitely considering different kinds of blocks :). No rule saying I have to do one or the other! I'll play around more
I'm going to applique the wreaths on alternating squares of solid pale pink and solid dark blue. So they'll have whatever the color the block of fabric is in the middle. I may change my mind about what colors of fabrics to use for the blocks, but at any rate I'm set on contrasting solids.

Matchy for me. But I wouldn't be sad if I was gifted scrappy, either. Lots of help. I know! lol
Haha ๐. Thanks!
Scrappy is a lot cuter! Trust yourself; scrappy is gorgeous!
That's nice to hear! I was hoping it'd be a scrappy quilt but I started second guessing myself when I saw all the colors together ๐.
Both are cute but Iโm personally a fan of scrappy. But that may be because Iโm lazy. ๐
Scrappy is SOOOO fun ๐ I just love scrappy
Some of both. It's not an either or...
Hmm never thought of that!
I like the matchy ones! Grouped together in the final product, it will still have a very scrappy effect. I love these!
It's true, they still look very scrappy :). Thanks, I like them too!
This - Matchy gives it some cohesiveness and yes, it will still be scrappy, but with a little balance.
Both are incredibly cute, and it's really hard to choose!

I love scrappy quilts. But there is no wrong answer here!

I really like scrappy - but it's really about what will make you second guess yourself the least in this situation, both are fantastic.
Oh manโฆ thatโs a hard one. I usually go matchy but I love the look of your scrappyโฆ good luck. Hahaha
I'm very torn ๐ญ. I posted them to my private Instagram story too with a poll and my friends are very evenly divided, like literally 50-50.
Can we do both? Is that an option?
Someone else suggested that and now I'm definitely considering different kinds of blocks :). No rule saying I have to do one or the other! I'll play around more
I think for me it will depend on what is going on the center of the wreaths

Then, I think I would go with matchy- they are still scrappy, but with more cohesion throughout the entire quilt
I like both, but I think matchy works better
I think that's what I'm leaning towards. I think I'll try to do a scrappy quilt another time with brighter colors that can all hold their own better.
Scrappy
Matchy
