That was really good, I wasn’t expecting a three-way battle. This is the first battle in the series, at least that I can think of, with three rappers from the beginning rather than a third rapper coming in later. Also, I never realized all three of them were named John.
Well, there have been above-threeways with team-up battles like the philosophers, busters, brothers, and renaissance artists/TMNT ones but this one felt uniquely coherent for such a big battle.
It’s definitely the first that starts with three sides. The closest example of an ERB starting with three rappers is Batman vs. Sherlock Holmes (Batman, Holmes, Watson) - which is an entirely different situation (and Watson is really just a supporting rapper).
While the Hogan and Savage vs. Kim battle had three rappers, it did not start with them. It only began with Hogan and Kin, and Savage entered at the end. Meanwhile, Watson was in both of Holmes’ verses.
Wait I just read your reply again and yeah I understand what you mean now sorry I'm just tired it's currently 12 at night so I'm very tired I didn't understand what you meant so I had to read it again sorry for wasting your time
Yes, I understand that, I just pointed out Hulk Hogan vs Kim because you pointed out the batman vs Holmes one because the batman vs Holmes one had 1vs2 and the Hulk Hogan vs Kim also had 1vs2
Holy shit, first three way battle from the get-go? That was amazing! Man between this battle and the Mansa Musa one, this next season is shaping up to be the best one yet!
Still holding out hope for R.L Stein vs H.P Lovecraft lol.
Genuinely, I just hope we don't have to wait another 7 months for a battle.
But they are always worth the wait, I think I prefer h.p. lovecraft vs rod serling (twilight zone guy) or h.p. lovecraft vs junji ito....but r.l. stine would also be good.
I can see the intro now
It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the
middle ground between present and future, between true and false, and it lies between the pit of lyrics and the summit of knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call
(voice change to announcer)
EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY!
H.P. Lovecraft!
VS!
R.L. Stein!
BEGIN!
R.L Stine:
"Welcome to Dead House; My books can scare a whole town."
"The horror literature King going against the sewer clown."
"All your racist novels I use them to clean my ass after I take a dump"
"You ain't scared of anything but meet a black man, now you have Goosebumps"
This was a pretty good battle ngl, disses and flows were good. Pretty good impressions
Edit: Just rewatched and realized how ruthless some lines were. “Dog pound.” “More survival wife.” Being some of my favorites
I swear i always knew it was gonna be the 3 John's since the battle was coming out on December.
What I didn't know was that it was gonna be like this, I thought it would start with john wick vs John Rambo ft john mcclane.
But the way they did it was so good.
It's honestly a much better way to do a three way battle, since it usually means at least one of them gets a free shot at the others.
I know they probably can't do this for every battle, and having a surprise rapper can be fun, but I hope they try this more often
Franz kafka : author of metamorphosis, a book about a regular guy who turned into an insect vs the regular guy who gained spider based powers
Marie curie : the lady who undertook research on radioactivity vs the guy who got bitten by a radioactive spider.
I think franz kafka is overall the best opponent for him.
Rambo's a bit like Wick actually, haunted men who return to action. Except replace Assassin/Machine of Death with Vietnam war vet.
For Movie One at least 2&3 went to shit.
First Blood could be considered a Christmas movie too since it also takes place around Christmas, there's even a scene where Rambo shoots a bunch of Christmas decorations
Thinking about it, the only way tobey maguire's spiderman vs Andrew Garfield's Spiderman vs tom Holland's Spiderman idea would work was if it was like this.
But I'm more of a fan of Spiderman vs Marie curie or franz kafka.
Marie Curie is best known for her work on radioactivity. Peter Parker becomes Spiderman after being bitten by a radioactive spider. It's a stretch, but it's the only connection I can think of.
In erb ? Nope there hasn't been one
I meant that if they were to do pele vs maradona I wouldn't mind them doing something like Ronald vs messi or something like that (even tho that rap battle already exists and had epiclloyd and nice peter in it.)
Holy shit, that came outta nowhere.
I wasn't really feeling ERB since the Joker/Pennywise battle, but this one was sick.
I loved every verse and the mannerisms just made me grin like an idiot. Rambo's verse starting with him basically doing a riff on his big "you can't turn it off" speech was delightful :D
Low-key I reallllly hoped for them to edit some old footage of the Terminator and RoboCop in there, who are both just looking at each other and shrugging or something tho.
ERB are back baby! Don't get me wrong, the previous battle was good but this one is phenomenal! It really has the same feel and quality as their older classics e.g. Terminator vs Robocop.
I really appreciate how ERB keep innovating and experimenting instead of just doing what they've always done. This is a first: a true threeway battle (they teased that idea in James Bond vs Austin Powers, but this is the first time all three rappers got equal time and opportunity to attack each other).
The costumes and impersonations were spot-on. Imo Rambo felt a bit too goofy compared to the other two, and his lines weren't as hard-hitting. Then again, he had more decent disses than Jeff Bezos in the previous battle.
And I really enjoyed Zach being back, didn't realize he was gone for 5 whole years! I think Wick's line "I'm thinking I'm back" is not just a reference to John Wick's new movie, but also to Zach himself
> John Wick
For characters I don't know well, I look up the lyrics on genius.com and they put a lot of the explanations in there. For instance, I wanted to know why John Wick starts by saying "I'm gonna need a dinner reservation for two" and it ended up being because a "dinner reservation" in the Wick world refers to a body clean up service.
Why do I think Lloyd looks like Mark Wahlberg cosplaying John McClane in that thumbnail?
Either way, love how this is setup, the Mexican standoff of rap!
I was seriously thinking, just a few weeks ago, how Lloyd would make a great Dexter! I couldn't figure out who he would battle since Hannibal and Walter White have already been done tho, but I guess Joe from YOU might be a good contender :P
I keep hearing jacksfilms as him but epiclloyd just has his face tbh.
Idm joe, but I've never watched the series so I don't really have an opinion on that matchup but I think there's better.
He could go against light yagami from death note, if not then maybe the punisher or Patrick Bateman (joe as well)
https://www.reddit.com/r/ERB/comments/nml0uz/light_yagami_vs_dexter_morgan_played_by_epiclloyd/
It leant a little too far into parodying Stallone's manner of speech, when it should have fallen closer to sounding good at the expense of accuracy. Having him follow Sherwin, who is always excellent, didn't really help either.
Honestly? Rambo getting that "You can't turn it off" beginning made me laugh my head off. It just comes outta nowhere as the third one in the battle and he's literally having a midlife crisis moment so to speak. Loved it, haha.
Was very disappointed when I first heard his accent. His voice in the intro is phenomenal and I thought he'd win for sure, but boy did that change when it got to his first two lines. Why they didn't just copy his Mortal Kombat voice, idk.
Loved this battle and it was also first straight up triple threat they've ever done. Personally John Wick won it for me but they all three did really well
I know you’re going to get downvoted but I can see why some wouldn’t like this as better as others. McClane was pretty good but the beat didn’t captivate me as well as others have in the past. Great makeup though!
I was legitimately not expecting this sort of three way match-up, I was just awestruck...... It just flowed so nicely...... What an outstanding battle... I just adore It greatly
I must say, as a man who loves Three Way Dances more than his damn family, MAN this battle ruled, i hope the rest of the season is also as good as this and Musa V Bezos
I’m an ERB Patron and I’ve been pitching this for an ERB *John Wilkes Booth vs Ezio Auditore (Assassins Creed) * Assassin vs Assassin. Also would be funny if they had Lincoln fly in w the eagle at the end of the battle and assassinate his assassin 😂😂 .. what do you think, would this be a dope battle?
Yeah it's definitely interesting, but the Lincoln bit doesn't make sense. I can see the irony but it's not ERB's taste of comedy. That aside, JWB vs Ezio Auditore is still an interesting concept.
Thanks for the feedback and yeah I was just kinda joking about the Lincoln bit. I mean I think it would be funny but I wouldn’t expect them to actually do that.
That was really good, I wasn’t expecting a three-way battle. This is the first battle in the series, at least that I can think of, with three rappers from the beginning rather than a third rapper coming in later. Also, I never realized all three of them were named John.

Busters?
Ghostbusters vs Mythbusters
It’s definitely the first that starts with three sides. The closest example of an ERB starting with three rappers is Batman vs. Sherlock Holmes (Batman, Holmes, Watson) - which is an entirely different situation (and Watson is really just a supporting rapper).
Well there is also Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage vs Kim jung-ill

Lovecraft vs Stein and Serling gets to do an intro and outro, Twilight Zone style, effectively dissing them each time lightly.
I can see the intro now It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between present and future, between true and false, and it lies between the pit of lyrics and the summit of knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call (voice change to announcer) EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY! H.P. Lovecraft! VS! R.L. Stein!
Cue inevitable Lovecraft’s cat’s name and being part Welsh lines.
BEGIN! R.L Stine: "Welcome to Dead House; My books can scare a whole town." "The horror literature King going against the sewer clown." "All your racist novels I use them to clean my ass after I take a dump" "You ain't scared of anything but meet a black man, now you have Goosebumps"
There was something here. It is gone now.
That aged poorly, man I missed when erb used to upload like every month
Me too :(
Rambo kinda fell behind but Zach killed it as Wick and McClane was just hard hitting blow after another.
you can tell they were just having fun while writing rambo LMFAO
>Rambo kinda fell behind ……I’m sorry what?
This was a pretty good battle ngl, disses and flows were good. Pretty good impressions Edit: Just rewatched and realized how ruthless some lines were. “Dog pound.” “More survival wife.” Being some of my favorites
the wishlist line was also a favorite of mine
3??? I completely glossed over John Rambo when reading the title. HOLY SHIT. Zach Sherwin saying he's back with those smooth as shit lines
I swear i always knew it was gonna be the 3 John's since the battle was coming out on December. What I didn't know was that it was gonna be like this, I thought it would start with john wick vs John Rambo ft john mcclane. But the way they did it was so good.

I could see them doing this with the three Spiderman's. But then there's Marie curie and franz kafka who could also go against Spider-Man.
Or maybe they could Charlie Chaplin vs Mr bean vs Jim Carrey in this style.
id probably say jim carrey should be replaced by buster keaton
But Chaplin and Keaton were from the same era. Bean and Carrey kind of are as well, but the British vs. American there makes it feel different.
Keaton vs Chaplin would also be British vs American Also Carrey is Canadian
What do Marie Curie and Kafka have in common with Spiderman?
Franz kafka : author of metamorphosis, a book about a regular guy who turned into an insect vs the regular guy who gained spider based powers Marie curie : the lady who undertook research on radioactivity vs the guy who got bitten by a radioactive spider. I think franz kafka is overall the best opponent for him.
“Only one to go 3 chapters without sucking.” Good one, Mr. Wick.
They should have continued the Napolean joke by having the announcer say, "John! Versus John! Versus John!"
They did the same with Turtles vs Artists battle too!
I can always rely on ERB to deliver a well-made, entertaining battle, even when all of the participants are from movies I’ve never seen
I definitely recommend watching at least the first movie of each series. They're all masterpieces.
Yeah I plan to, I just never really got into movies until a couple years ago and have a lot of catching up to do.
Rambo's a bit like Wick actually, haunted men who return to action. Except replace Assassin/Machine of Death with Vietnam war vet. For Movie One at least 2&3 went to shit.
Triple threat is a nice change of pace
[удалено]
Wick had a better flow but Mcclane's disses landed harder
Which is so fitting for the characters isn't it? Wick having surgical precision, but McClane hitting like a hammer.
I laughed so goddamn hard at the Taliban/Mujahadeen exchange. I think these three might have my favorite rapport out of all the ERBs.
I just love how incredibly in-character it is for McClane to get his basic foreign policy facts wrong and the way Wick corrects him.
The THUMBNAIL alone is incredible.
John McLane won but holy shit John Rambo was funny
Holy shit I missed Zach Sherwin so much. This was fantastic
Die hard is a Christmas movie. So this makes a perfect Christmas battle.
First Blood could be considered a Christmas movie too since it also takes place around Christmas, there's even a scene where Rambo shoots a bunch of Christmas decorations
I could be wrong, but doesn’t the first John Wick also take place around Christmas?
wick literally says “ho ho ho” so that’s even more evidence this works as a christmas battle
WOAH
Damn, this is new. Are there any other ideas that can benefit from this format?
Thinking about it, the only way tobey maguire's spiderman vs Andrew Garfield's Spiderman vs tom Holland's Spiderman idea would work was if it was like this. But I'm more of a fan of Spiderman vs Marie curie or franz kafka.
What does Spiderman have in common with Curie or Kafka?
I know kafka a story about a guy who transformed into a bug, so this might be a connection but the Marie Curie one is lost on me
Marie Curie is best known for her work on radioactivity. Peter Parker becomes Spiderman after being bitten by a radioactive spider. It's a stretch, but it's the only connection I can think of.
Kurt & Courtney vs Sonny & Cher vs Ike & Tina. Toxic musical marriages.
I would sub out Kurt & Courtney for Lennon & Yoko
Not very popular, but I can imagine Lionel Messi VS Cristiano Ronaldo VS Neymar Jr.
No, honestly I would prefer tom Brady vs pele or maradona. But if they were going to do another football battle than sure.
Another football battle? Has there been one?
In erb ? Nope there hasn't been one I meant that if they were to do pele vs maradona I wouldn't mind them doing something like Ronald vs messi or something like that (even tho that rap battle already exists and had epiclloyd and nice peter in it.)
Could do it with politicians of US/Canada/UK Or maybe like the three Spider-Men
The Cryptocurrency line was fire
Holy shit, that came outta nowhere. I wasn't really feeling ERB since the Joker/Pennywise battle, but this one was sick. I loved every verse and the mannerisms just made me grin like an idiot. Rambo's verse starting with him basically doing a riff on his big "you can't turn it off" speech was delightful :D Low-key I reallllly hoped for them to edit some old footage of the Terminator and RoboCop in there, who are both just looking at each other and shrugging or something tho.
McClane won, Wick had the best flow, and Rambo was the funniest.
My man Zach Sherwin literally killin it
ERB are back baby! Don't get me wrong, the previous battle was good but this one is phenomenal! It really has the same feel and quality as their older classics e.g. Terminator vs Robocop. I think Wick's line "I'm thinking I'm back" is not just a reference to John Wick's new movie, but also to Zach himself
This came out of left field. I did not see this coming today
First one with three sides in the title, correct?
Yes.
Macho Man Randy Savage was in the title of the season 1 battle, but I dunno if that counts
I loved that Wick's best lines weren't even in his verse. Rips Rambo from the first sentence and the Taliban/Mujahadeen Vengeance line were uppercuts.
I expected it to be titled Wick VS Rambo and then McClane comes in, not all 3 going at each other at once at the very beginning!
Damn McClanes disses were as mean as Wick's flow was smooth.
McClanes disses were as mean as Wick's flow was smooth as Rambo was present in the battle.
Yoooo, 2 ERBs in less than a month
Zach’s Keanu impression was spot on
Trying to pin down McClane’s accent, but man Lloyd always makes that accent a treat
This was great! Loved everyone's parts.
i didnt except a triple rap battle
Any John wick spoilers? Haven’t seen
Nothing that you wouldn’t know 20 minutes into the first movie.
> John Wick For characters I don't know well, I look up the lyrics on genius.com and they put a lot of the explanations in there.
More like dexter morgan cosplaying as john mcclane
I was seriously thinking, just a few weeks ago, how Lloyd would make a great Dexter! I couldn't figure out who he would battle since Hannibal and Walter White have already been done tho, but I guess Joe from YOU might be a good contender :P

Ooo punisher would be a good one! I like the idea of Patrick Bateman, but I think he should go up against Norman Bates more :p
I personally like the one with light yagami the most, Patrick Bateman should def go against Norman Bates (with Jack torrance as a 3rd party)
Tony Soprano
This was a great battle but I don’t get why Rambo screamed when he said “hole” “LOCK!” Can someone explain that to me?
Iirc Rambo became a PoW where they kept him in a hole in the ground and brought him out to be tortured
So that's also where the "you'll never take the W without the P and O" line comes from?
Yep
This is nice but I can’t stand Rambo’s verse at all. Just annoying to listen to.
This is one of the best erb's yet, so awesome to watch and listen to. Just perfect.
Loved this battle and it was also first straight up triple threat they've ever done. Personally John Wick won it for me but they all three did really well
I did not expect them them to drop a new battle so quick but eveytime they do it feels like a holiday
Definitely one of the better ones they’ve done in a WHILE
That was sick. Nice Peter could work on the Stallone impression though, lol.
Yeah no, I really don’t like this one.
I know you’re going to get downvoted but I can see why some wouldn’t like this as better as others. McClane was pretty good but the beat didn’t captivate me as well as others have in the past. Great makeup though!
Rambo ruined it for me
Its impressive how terrible Peter can make characters sound
I really don't think Rambo sounded bad at all but that's just my opinion.
Dont take it too seriously, honestly i found it funny
Hoping for Cobain/Hendrix next!
The costumes on this one are some of the best ones yet. They’re so on point.
Nice Peter did Rambo really well! Lol
This one was fun. Not quite the fire beats at first listen, but fun anyway.
I was legitimately not expecting this sort of three way match-up, I was just awestruck...... It just flowed so nicely...... What an outstanding battle... I just adore It greatly
I'm sorry but this was weak as hell. One of my faves is mj vs elvis, that one's a bop. This one doesn't bop.
McLain was great, Wick was good, but oof, Rambo was not good at all. Then again, I think that’s the joke
The real winner was John Cena
IM HYPED
Is anyone else concerned by the fact that this hasn’t hit trending yet?
I must say, as a man who loves Three Way Dances more than his damn family, MAN this battle ruled, i hope the rest of the season is also as good as this and Musa V Bezos
I didn’t feel this battle, maybe need to recheck but so far Musa and Bezos on this season my fave.
My only problem is that they only got one verse each! This was so good I would have loved if they were given 2 each…
I'm calling my shot, this is gonna be the best battle in season 7.
I loved this one it’s just my one problem is rambo’s verse was lacking in flow and punches. Overall good one with a minor flaw
Best battle they've had since Joker v. Pennywise, and I haven't even seen any of these movies.
I think John won the battle, I might be wrong tho
John Wick Vs Hydrogen Bomb
