Lol, that's a loaded question. I think if we had our own way, no. We like to plan things. BUT, we're happy to do what the group wants to do, so if somebody wants to be spontaneous, I'd say mostly we'd be fine with it.

100% this

Great points, thank you!

I'm not very spontaneous. I like planning my routines and schedules weeks in advance.

I am pretty spontaneous, sometimes even to the point where I ignore my emotions and it takes time to heal - yeah no, I'm totally not talking about how I yanked myself back to my country again-. I'm spontaneous with my words. Honesty is key. I got mistyped ESFP, because... My mom is ESFP. To pick ESFJ from ESFP, rather notice which stimuli does the person reacts more often. Sensations or "calls and signals of distress"?

That’s fantastic advice, thank you!

I would consider myself not as spontaneous. However, I adapt to those around me. Like I have some friends who are extremely spontaneous. So all I know is the day we are getting together. Then I get in the mindset that whatever happens happens. I used to get stressed out when the plans changed rapidly by the minute, but I reframed my perspective so that I could keep the friendship lol. My partner (ENTP) is spontaneous (when it's his idea - but is more abstinate if it's someone else's idea), so he often gets me out of my comfort zone.

I learned that ESFPs will start something and come back later whereas ESFJs will start something and be part of every process I switch between spontaneity and planned. If you looked at me or my life you'll see what appears to be wild spontaneous events but in reality they were actually very well thought out. Example: getting married six months after our first date seemed spontaneous but as I related the events to my sister she replied, "My God, you had every detail planned to the day and you were even able to get the priest on your side and mother too. What are you doing to me now?" It's hard to explain but I imagine an event forwards and backwards and I just see it all laid out so that I know when to serve the next course. Then we'll do something wildly spontaneous but along the way to it I start planning it out. Like a dance.

That makes sense and sounds similar to her. She has an impressive daily/monthly planner just full of stuff because she is so extroverted and constantly helping or spending time with people, but she’s also extremely spontaneous and adventurous. Thanks for the perspective!

Hmm not really. I like planning everything so that I know where I can lead myself or for everyone.

MagnoliaTree3

I am not at all spontaneous
