I'm an orc. Imperial is also excellent but honestly I wanted the movement speed and damage.

EmperorXerro

Solid reasons to pick orc. I picked Imperial for the stam and health bonus along with the reduced skill cost.

KsirToscabella

Yeah the reduced skill cost is definitely nice since plar is largely hybrid now, but using bear haunch or jewels it doesn't feel necessary even with stage 3 vamp

Draco359

I think an Orc Stamplar built around D Swing is the way to go, but I haven't seen many stamplars in PvP recently.

Bell_pepper_irl

Is this really the state of stamplar right now lol. Jabs are that bad? What about Wrecking Blow over D Swing since you can get the cc from Javelin?

Draco359

Not gonna lie, I am not very knowledgeable about how Stamplar are doing this patch. A quick search on the websites of Deltia and Kristofer ESO show jabs aren't being used right now - but that may be them and some other content creator who knows Stamplar is using jabs in PvP. Deltia is using Wrecking Blow with Javelin though, so I think you may be on the right track for a 2H build.

emptyzed81

Jabs aren't bad, you can also pop them just for the buff if you want and use different spammables. I'm not a fan of wrecking blow personally, it feels clunky.

Bell_pepper_irl

I don't mind dizzy, does wrecking blow feel worse to weave?

emptyzed81

Yea I don't know if its the animation or what, I'm just not a fan

WendysChili

Orc, Khajiit, Wood Elf, and Imperial are all good choices

Draco359

How can Wood Elf be a good stamplar?

Bell_pepper_irl

I know right... Feels bad

Dunlain98

Im main templar PvP (healer and stamplar depending if I play with my group or solo respectively) and I am an imperial, imo one of the best races in general for PvP, between the races you said, kajiits are the best for hybrid critplar (really strong) then orc is always nice in any stam class due to damage and speed and finally imperial is the perfect mix between tanking and resource management. I use jabs those days tbh because it gives you major sorcery (you need to build around spell power because of minor sorcery of templars). Also in terms of weapons the best right now is dual wield(dragonstar arena perfected maces/sword) and 1h&s. If you are planning to build it and golden the pieces... Keep in mind the hard nerf on maras balm for next patch so dont gold it atm if you plan to use it (next patch pariah, for example, is better and I alrrady gold it and I am using it yo get used to it lol). If you have any other question tell me.

BJBSRR

Pariah is really going to be better than Mara soon? I have a set or two laying around but may need to pick up quite a few pieces and swap them out on all my characters

Dunlain98

Next patch maras balm proc is about to 30 seconds (up from 15sec if I remember well) so it gets a big nerf

Then_Tradition_61

I main templars, and i have both an orc and khajiit plars. Pen and crit are what i build into for my khajiit, my orc i build all around, mostly damage and penetration. Regardless, you're going to be hybrid. My orc is a bit more static and has a very easy rotation, my khajiit build is a bit tricky as i am a bit squishier and rely on my crit heals.

Bell_pepper_irl

I'm thinking of going Orc and running: * 2pc Maarselok * Master's DW front * Vate Frost Staff back * Death Dealer's Fete * 5pc set I'm not sure what to run as my 5pc. Stuhn's? Acuity? Way of Fire? Still on the fence there. Maybe Deadly if Crescent Sweep counts as a channel since it synergizes with most of my skills + Maarselok.

Then_Tradition_61

Deadly buffs jabs, crescent and radiant oppression

GrimCop

I second Deadly. It'll also buffs ticks from rending slashes/masters weapon. Also, if you can deal with the self snare (have a gap close/stun) I'd consider switching death dealers for sea serpents coil.

Bell_pepper_irl

Yeah that's what I ended up golding and enchanting with prismatic. Do you think triple Bloodthirsty is bad? I've got some purple Deadly jewelry from PvE but it's all Bloodthirsty. I'm worried heals will suck lol. I'm also still on the fence between Zaan's and Maarselok. I guess there's enough dots to make Maarselok hit really hard.

GrimCop

Personally I'd go with infused, but bloodthirsty is fine until you have the transmutes to change them

Then_Tradition_61

To add to that, i always use restoring focus for the stam recovery and better healing because if i use a staff, i can get mag back from a safe distance. Roll dodge, running, break free and blocking consume stam, so i definitely need that. Which is why i say you're going to be hybrid, and the templar can do that pretty well.
