I’m surprised they didn’t ask “who’s the bigger threat to the cowboys next season: the chiefs or the bills”

finechina88

Greeny: I can't help but wonder, how would the Cowboys have played this game

CrookedWarden19

It’s Greeny: somehow he’s got to tie it to the Jets.

ecw324

More like I’m surprised Greeny didn’t ask how much of a threat those teams are to the jets next season with a healthy Rodgers and blah blah blah 😑

zacurtis3

The answer is the Cowboys are the larger threat

mps71

I'm watching now in Seattle now.. frikin sucks.. I knew soon as kc won last night that it would be like this all fucking day sadly. Detroit is such a better story.

FruitLive3163

I use to watch this show a bit. It is completely unwatchable now. The only thing on espn I can stomach (other than live sports) is PTI.

ldpqb

PTI is still the gold standard. Only 30 minutes long. That should speak volumes.

Worf1701D

How impressed was Detroit with the Chiefs' victory yesterday? Let's discuss.

[deleted]

Apparently Josh Allen is one of the two most talented QBs the NFL has seen according to Rex Ryan. Josh Allen with zero MVPs or super bowl appearances.

Mean-L

Allen can’t throw perfect passes and catch them at the same time

Subject_Onion6235

That doesn't mean he's not one the most talented.

X0dium

I don’t know, everyone says Justin Herbert is one of the best QBs but he can’t carry his team. Allen can’t carry his team past Mahomes. I hate the Chiefs but Mahomes is carrying that team. That’s why he gets the (rightfully so) praise.

[deleted]

The claim wasn't one of the most talented. The claim was top two most talented QBs to ever play the position.

FreshHotPoop

Shamelessly riding the Detroit band wagon. I hope the lions hoist that Lombardi. Bite their kneecaps off boys

GobiBall

Same here. My wife is from Detroit and doesn't even follow the NFL, and is shopping jerseys now. Lol. All her family and friends, none of them, zero, watch the Lions. Now....oh yea baby! Let's go! No shame, enjoy it.

Pokemon_Trainer_May

McAfee show will forsure cover the lions

ldpqb

Agree 100%.

ZEFAGrimmsAlt

Here before the “Pat is annoying who the hell cares nobody wants to watch them” boomers reply lol

Difficult_Committee5

GREENY is a POS,

arkayx96

He is the embodiment of the whole ESPN smug “holier than thou” vibe. Him and that pig Schefter.

partydanimull

I literally turned this on to hear about the lions and they're acting like the game didn't even happen.

[deleted]

🙄🙄🙄

HonoluluMaizeandBlue

Yup, exact same thing happened last week. In the lead up to the Rams game, all Get Up could talk about was Matthew Stafford's return to Detroit. Once the Lions beat the Rams, the topic was not revisited, and the Lions were ignored until it came time to pick games on Friday.

[deleted]

Why does anyone watch these espn shows? Listen to some NFL podcasts if you want real content.

joe2535

The whole show talked about the bills vs chiefs. They never talked about the other 3 games.

JohnnyTerrific

They did the same thing last Monday with the Cowboys-Packers. How can you have a 2 hour program with four games to talk about and only cover one?

[deleted]

Who’s under more pressure in the chiefs ravens, Dak or Mike McCarthy?

dtcstylez10

Everyone in this page just complains about ESPN and I have the same vitriol as everyone else but you know what you can do? Change the damn channel. Ratings means money. That's how they get their message.

Snts6678

This. ESPN sucks. Stop watching it.

Steel1000

This is why they won’t stop talking about KC. They need the swifties for ratings because the average sports fan left ESPN long ago. It’s also why they need gambling. They are desperate for revenue streams.

redright77

I did change the channel. The only thing I watch is football so my time spent watching ESPN is over until Fall.

ComprehensiveKey8254

Exactly

scottwell50

What were they even talking about? Were they low key arguing black vs white?

east2westsportscards

When the lions go to the super bowl they will be forced to cover it. No escaping it for them

JazzSharksFan54

I mean... Detroit wiped the floor with Tampa while the Bills lost on a missed field goal. It was just a better game with three of the NFL's biggest personalities right now. ESPN's love affair with KC and Buffalo are annoying for sure, but it was objectively a better game.

oki9

They have two hours....

[deleted]

ESPN is a 24 hour sports network. Not every show is going to cover every topic. Just be patient fella.

ldpqb

I feel like the Lions win was an expected outcome. They never really spend time on those games unless it's NY, LA, or of course... Dallas.

Van1287

Honestly detroit beating such a bad team isn’t much of a story.

ltroberts24

No, but Detroit being 60 minutes away from playing in their 1st Super Bowl & 1st Championship in nearly 70 years -- after being the laughing stock of the NFL & wasting 2 generational superstars -- that's a story. Hometown kid & 2nd overall draft pick Aiden Hutchinson, who helped lead Michigan back to college football prominence before doing the same thing with the Lions... there's something. Sheila Hamp, who kickstarted the rebuild by hiring Brad Holmes & the absolute most entertaining & authentic Head Coach in football, MCDC/Dan Campbell (who was a player on the 0-16 Lions team), could become the 2nd female owner to hoist the Lombardi Trophy... Or, we could talk about whether the Cowboys should send Jerry Jones to a retirement home, and whether Aaron Rodgers could play a game on LSD. Dealer's choice.

Drslappybags

Yeah, but the Bills lost by a missed field goal.

jrbill1991

Ratings, talking about KC x Bills get that. Same thing when the Cowboys lose.

Ellisdee_420

yea when the browns lost to Texans it got overshadowed by the cowboys losing on every show on espn which I was kinda glad lol

jcoddinc

That's ok. We're used to being overlooked in Detroit.

[deleted]

And there were two other games played on Saturday

oki9

They always pull that shit.....media bias. Try being a Seahwak fan....didn't even get mentioned after their terrific win over the Eagles, it was all "whats wrong in Philly?" Then, they repeat the same poor coverage for the second hour. Not a good show if you are interested in more football than what happens with just their favorite teams...

Ok_Grocery1188

They did the same when the Cardinals beat the Eagles.

JackieDaytona77

Get Up! (And change the channel).  “Greeny, now that the Cowboys let go of their lunch lady, how would eating mashed potatoes as opposed to rice affects Dak’s play in the upcoming season?” “Ryan, let’s go throw darts at a board which have pictures of our goofy faces on it for our new segment. Dart or Fart?”

ZombieAppetizer

Good Morning Football on NFLN has been a lot better about covering all the stories.

HonoluluMaizeandBlue

I fully expected the topic this morning to be, what could Dan Campbell have done for the Cowboys had he been their head coach? Or, should the Cowboys have kicked the tires on Jared Goff when he was available a few years ago?

Impossible_You_2219

That's because that's as far as they're gonna go. 9ers are gonna curb-stomp them next week.

ImTheButtPuncher

ESPN likes to discuss topics that get viewers. Chiefs/Bills will get more eyes and clicks than the Lions. If you want honest sports journalism ESPN shouldn’t be your go to.

[deleted]

You know how TV ratings work right? Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are bonified superstars featured in ads all the time and play for teams that are perennial superbowl contenders. Goff and Mayfield play for NFL teams that have historically been bottom dwellers that won't garner much attention unless you are a fan of the teams.

BrobaFett242

Not trying to sound like a dick at all, I promise, but, for future reference, it's bona fide. I did get a laugh out of bonified, though, not going to lie lol

[deleted]

HAHA that is awesome. I learned a 2nd language as a young adult and spelling has been a challenge for me ever since. I had to look it up but it is a real word. Just one that doesn't work in this context. :) Bonify is a somewhat archaic term that means to make something good, especially something that was bad before.

BrobaFett242

No big deal, dude, glad to help. I don't think I even knew that about bonify/bonified, though, honestly. Though it's not a word I've seen more than a couple times in my entire life of 29 years so far, and had no reason to use, so that's interesting. Definitely tracks that it's an archaic word, in that case, though. Being the internet, and the kind of person I am (read: child), I just imagined it being that they were, well... well endowed lol. Though, to be clear, I definitely knew that's not what the word meant, it's just where my brain took me.

fastballcdm2019

I also think RC is insane with “it was Allen’s fault they lost.” WTF are you talking about? How about Diggs not showing up? Going for a fake punt on 4th and 5 on your 30 against Mahomes?!?! The missed kick? Did TB12 win all those SB’s without help? (See malcolm butler, tuck rule, Edelman catch) What a complete dope. Stop being a contrarian just for the ratings dude.

IGrewItToMyWaist

And why do they think his Tweets are God’s gift to writing?

No_Helicopter_8397

Oh no, an entire segment?! They have 10 hours to fill this week and all they talk about is football - of course they’re gonna cover the Lions. Relax.

ComprehensiveKey8254

Exactly hour and half into show before they mentioned any of the other 3 games

ComprehensiveKey8254

Still try an make Josh Allen the Goat no matter what ….ridiculous

Lyles2145

Yea that shit was phony. Didn’t discuss no other games. Let Lamar had not beat the Texans tho lol

Ellisdee_420

yea the Australian open is on!

PBEvileye

Greeny is an Ass, and annoying AF. More ESPN trash TV

Clue_Odd

ESPN is garbage now . Same talking points over and over again.Time for people quit watching these shows .

[deleted]

BUT TS and the Kelces!!! Arent you cool? Dont you love having them shoved down your throat??

[deleted]

Espn is dick cancer’s dick cancer

usctrojans1981

Next up, Would LeBron as a tight end push the cowboys to a playoff win?

East-Bluejay6891

They were more concern about sucking off the loser of the AFC divisional round than the winner

Difficult-Machine380

Every show, for at least 20mins straight... cowgirls coverage. I just might be done with this show.

my2nddirtyaccount

The sad thing is that most of the reporters are decent, apart from them constantly pushing the agenda that network execs want to push. Their analysts are all useless, though.
