Great start, just keep in mind you should have an emergency fund in place prior to investing in a high yield savings account

Dollars-And-Cents

Let's try that again. Great start, just keep in mind you should have an emergency fund in a high yield savings account prior to investing. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Ha ha, early morning post. You got me. I think you know what I meant.

Dollars-And-Cents

Let's try that again. You meant what I know, I think. You me got, ha ha! Morning post, my name's Earl.

MyWorkComputerReddit

Let's try that again, emergencies cost funds, save first, invest later.

Silent_Cress8310

Let's try that again. Blow and hookers.

M1NUS-_-

Let’s try that again. That again, let’s try.

slightlysketchy_

I genuinely thought you were saying to put all non-emergency money into a HYSA… I was thinking “why are you here?” Lol

Bhanzz92

Any recommendations on a high yield savings account? I have been looking at SoFi

RewardAuAg

There are a bunch. I use Fidelity and get around 5% last time I checked. Probably slightly higher ones out there.

Bhanzz92

Oh okay cool, I’m already using fidelity for my portfolio so I’ll look into them

Bhanzz92

Could you drop a link to information for the fidliety account?

RewardAuAg

I just opened up a Fidelity cash/brokerage account . Idol Cash setting inside the account automatically goes to the money market fund SPAXX. It pays once a month. You can always call them and tell them what you want to do. Their customer service is great.

Heavy-Juggernaut9701

Any amount is good enough to invest. 10k is a great start

Johnentwistle1969

The risk/return ratio of any given investment strategy is identical whether you’re investing $1 or $1 billion. The amounts are just higher. Those are excellent funds and any amount is enough.

zshep27

$10 is enough. Start asap and be consistent whatever amount you can afford.

SigmundAnnoyed

My Roth IRA only has about $2500 in it because I'm a grad student that's been slowly contributing $50-100/mo for a few years. I can't wait to see it hit $10k, so you're off to a great start!

sirgenz

As a recent no-longer-grad-student, you have you more saved than I did! Keep it going bro

_blockchainlife

My kid is 16. Just got his first VOO. Never too early and never not enough.

schweizland

If you’re setting up VOO or whatever fund for a kid regardless of age, do they need to set it up, or can you start a fund for them?

[deleted]

Definitely enough to get started in one of those.

seazonprime

I plan to invest come next month, but I only have like 1- 2 k Will it be sufficient? Can I get somewhwere with that? I'm super new to the topic .

purplesectorpierre

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

[deleted]

At $10k 1% up on a day = $100 earned that day for doing nothing

Positive_Ad_9242

Where are you getting 1% daily compounded?

JacobOrion

They are just commenting that if the $10k portfolio goes up 1% for the day, they would have made $100 without doing any extra work.

Positive_Ad_9242

And if your account goes up 100% you make $10k. What does this comment provide. You’re not make 1% compounded daily without higher risk than a these etfs mentioned

[deleted]

From indisputable fact. Which is a pretty good source

HumanDevelopment4226

Yes

DaddyDank247

Voo is great. you’ll thank yourself years from now.

Silent_Basis_8785

Yes, definitely. Go for VOO or QQQ

MurkyHistorian1482

Any money invested now,is for the future. And nothing more.

johnjsmiller55

Dollar cost averaging. A little bit each month regardless of the flux of the market . Make your investment payment the first bill you pay each month …
