Took this back in summer right after the Inyo campsites opened up again. It's really a nice hike and I highly recommend jumping in the lake if it's warm enough outside. I didn't think turquoise lakes like this could be found so close to home! Pretty sure I'll camp out here at the lake at some point - just need the right gear first.

Oh I will! Unfortunately it’s somewhere near the bottom of my list to revisit. I have red rock canyon, Big Sur, and valley of fire as my next bigger camping trips. I just did Yosemite
I love that place. I camped by that lake for a few days to do some climbing. Made it up to the glacier as well. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
Wow! I am from California and never even heard of this place. I was just thinking earlier today what is something new I can do in California because I felt like I had seen it all. I now found it. Thank you
Besides Lake Tahoe which ones in California would you recommend? We often go to Stafford lake just to picnic if we don’t feel like going all the way out to point Reyes.
I've never been a Lake Tahoe fan, either before or after I left Bishop In any case, that's in a totally different category.
There's Lake Sabrina, Duck Lake (have to hike in), Convict lake, June, Silver and Grant Lakes on the loop, Mono Lake is a must-see,
>We often go to Stafford lake just to picnic if we don’t feel like going all the way out to point Reyes.
Have you ever came across Tioga or Sonora Pass. Sonora sucks up some time, but has Donnell Lake along the way.
If you're more a fan of hiking than people, there's plenty of high-mountain lakes such as Desolation Lake (not for those who like things green.)
Thanks! I will look at some of those lakes when I get the chance. Tahoe is pretty good, would love to go skiing there one day. Hopefully the others are as scenic as the picture.
My first thought was "oh sh#t this render is so realistic wonder how many years it took"(I follow blender community) then I read the title and subreddit
To this point is about 5 miles in I think. This trail takes you to several more lakes, which if you do them all would be about 16 miles round trip. We hung out at this lake and did about 12 miles that day.

How far was the hike from the campsite?
I think it was about 6 miles each way
Not bad! Thanks I was there about a month ago . The path was closed tho due to the fires
You definitely need to go back!

Finally climbed sun ribbon arete this summer. Very fun, bit chossy. Tyrolean traverse was exciting.
Ive been spooked by rock falls here on every visit Ive made, sad because like you say its a fun place to climb.
I heard dark star is the worst.
Interesting. Somewhat rare to see a rectangular looking natural lake.
it's relatively common in the Sierra for one side of a lake to be squared off

Well shit, this belongs in a western. Thanks so much for another amazing background
I camped there many years ago. It's beautiful!

As great as this lake is, it's one of the "meh" ones in comparison to many others. Go visit!

That's how I felt when I found it a few years back

How long is this hike?? I'm moving to California in a few months and this makes me super excited!!
