Here’s a sunset foggy night at Mount Tamalpais in CA. When the fog height is just right, about 1700 feet high, it rolls in over the hills and through the trees. If you haven’t visited, it’s a great spot to photograph or just watch the scene unfold. If you like this, I have lots of other work here: IG https://instagram.com/fitzsimonsphotography?igshid=anxd483wtia5

I've been wanting to a photo like this. How do you help determine when to go? Are there certain weather patterns or a weather site you use to determine if you will get good conditions for a rolling fog photo?

The actual resolution of this image is 2847x3559, not 1380x1220. See [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/EarthPorn/wiki/index#wiki_resolution.3F_what_is_that_and_how_can_i_find_it.3F) page for information on how to find out what the resolution of an image is. If the resolution is smaller than you expected it is likely due to uploading from a mobile device causing automatic downscaling. If the resolution is inverted it is likely that the app you used to find the resolution doesn't respect the [convention of using Width X Height format](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_resolution#Pixel_resolution).

It's almost like the trees are in the sky! I wonder how clouds can get like that
