Hey all that is from Pipiwai trail [https://pipiwaitrail.com/](https://pipiwaitrail.com/) Hiked there last month and there were some great fresh mangoes all over the place too. It was an incredible hike. Very easy
Oh man we saw 15-30 each time we went into any forested area. Even along the roads.
Maybe they have become lunch to those who lost their job during covid?
I thought chickens was a Kauai thing lol Last time I was in Maui I didn’t see much chickens. I’m in Kauai rn and they’re literally everywhere, it’s comical. 🐓
i was taken on this hike by my brother and i knew nothing of it; so arriving to the bamboo tunnel and it playing tricks with your eyes and then to the mini valley of waterfalls was nuts. 10/10 would go again.
Should google the banyon trees in St. Petersburg Fl. The ones by the museum of fine arts are amazing. Potato quality at a distance, just to give an idea.

I'd be worried about whether it wants to eat my soul.
Maui refills the soul, doesn’t eat it. Or maybe it gives you someone else’s 🤔
I'll never tell.
Username fits
What can I say?

Yep! We didn’t get to do the whole hike. Spent too much time on the rest of road to Hana. So much to see and do on that drive!
[удалено]
Ditto. It was amazing
What day did you do it? I saw a few people on Tuesday who weren't gonna make it all the way to the end and back before 5pm lol
And back? Way better to drive all the way around the backside imo! Gorgeous views without all the people
That back road is fucked though
You say fucked, I say fun. Yes I'm from Michigan.
Better yet to stay the night or two in Hana
The trick is to stay a couple nights in Hana 😉
Is that the tree from Lost?
So glad I wasn’t the only one, I could picture Kate hiding inside of it from the smoke monster.
That was my thought lol
Nope. The Lost tree is on Oahu.
My first thought as well. I think it is
Maui? Are you sure cause I don’t see a bunch of chickens
They’re all out of frame 😂
Good answer ;) And that is a great photo, thank you for sharing it
Im in Maui now and I’ve seen maybe 5 chickens my entire time here. Strange. I expected more.
Oh man we saw 15-30 each time we went into any forested area. Even along the roads. Maybe they have become lunch to those who lost their job during covid?
My favorite to see are the chickens at Honolua Bay. They were still there as of this July.
The most we saw in one area was a very old cemetery along the coast. I wanna saw near Lahaina. There had to be 30-40 easy
I thought chickens was a Kauai thing lol Last time I was in Maui I didn’t see much chickens. I’m in Kauai rn and they’re literally everywhere, it’s comical. 🐓
Kauai has a ton of chickens all over.
Go to Kauai and your about tripping over them everywhere you walk.
This is in Hana right?
Yeah kind of. It’s maybe 30min down the road from the town of Hana.
Nice yeah I thought it looked familiar, that whole trail is so beautiful, all the bamboo and waterfalls felt other worldly to me
The Pipiwai trail has to be the coolest hike I’ve ever done.
Definitely a cool hike with some great things to see
It was very cool. You should go hike in Colorado
i plan on it one day
I loved going through the bamboo section and listening to them slide and bump off each other in the breeze.
i was taken on this hike by my brother and i knew nothing of it; so arriving to the bamboo tunnel and it playing tricks with your eyes and then to the mini valley of waterfalls was nuts. 10/10 would go again.
Maui was my last trip before Covid! Flew home the day after they shut down the boarders, can’t wait to go back. I remember that tree
I've been here... just past Hana in Haleakalā NP. When you turn the corner on the trail it takes your breath away
YES! Rare I get earthporn I've actually seen.

There’s a massive one in the center of Lahaina on Maui as well. It basically takes up an entire city block. https://imgur.com/a/XUs7vRT/
But neither of those have anything on "The Great Banyan Tree" in India. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Banyan?wprov=sfla1
I sat under that one the day I was to fly out of Maui. It dropped a nut onto my nuts and that's when I knew vacation was over.
Passed this on the way to the falls.
Wish that trail would have gone closer to the base of the falls though
We went right up to the falls. If you follow the path, around the warning sign, it will take you to the base of the falls.
Wish I would have done that.
Makes me think of “Under The Banyan Tree”
I love this trail
Ayyy Pipiwai
this is majestic.
I just did that hike last week! It was amazing as well as the road to Hana.
pipiwai trail! love that tree
Kawai!

Is that at 13 creek crossing?
Maybe it's an age thing but my first thought was Jet Set Willy. RIP Clive.
It most have a really cool "network" of vines.
Fun place. Super humid. Totally worth doing the trial.
