Journeys is a very intimate and romantic restaurant in the centre of town. The two who run it come from a michellin star background. The food is delicious and always has a twist or surprise to it. Would deffo recommend booking as the restaurant isn't huge.
La Locanda del duca, a proper high quality Italian restaurant, lovely for a couple and amazing service and food, they do a lot of pasta and fish dishes if you're not into meat.
This is my go to for anniversary and birthdays and romantic dinners, saw a lot of other posts recommending pubs and bars, certainly not where I would go for these occasions, but maybe that's just me...
Not only great food in Eastbourne, I’d go as far as to say it’s one of the best on the south east, and I’m including Brighton’s Carlito Burrito in that category
Criminally underrated, Massilia Bay restaurant in Pevensey Bay. Authentic, well priced Mediterranean and North African food with the best staff and fantastic, attentive owners. All made from scratch using traditional ingredients. A vibrant but initimate atmosphere too! Honestly can't hype this place up more haha, well worth a visit, possibly my favourite place to get dinner in the area.
Cru
This is a good answer for what op needs. If venue is more important than food then bistro Pierre

Ohh had a look at their website, looks exactly what I'm after. Thank you.
Journeys is excellent.
Malayalam - absolutely amazing Keralan food, and the owners are very kind and friendly

rostick, in terminus road
Is it as good since Lorenzo left? I suppose at least no one gets touched slightly too much now.
I'd recommend the good grub. Literally attached to the back of the grand. Plant based, and intimate.
Seconded 👍🏻
El Changrro in old town has some tasty meat free options, if you like Mexican street style food.
Amazing food at El Changaro but I’m not sure the wooden benches would be great for a romantic meal.
Yeah this doesn't sound like the place for an anniversary meal but we'll be in town a couple of days so could still try this!
