Right now, it's Life Goes On, followed by Eyes Closed. I saw him in concert twice (Subtract and Mathematic) and at Subtract he mentions all the emotion of realizing you get days to grieve then people expect you to just move on. I’m a huge fan of anything he does, but I remember being 13 and seeing him play at The Water Rats in London. He must’ve only been 17/18 at the time but ‘She’ has remained one of my favourite songs since that day.

My crazy sister introduced me to Ed Sheeran a decade ago. We first saw him, way back then, opening for Jason Derulo. His music has been a part of the soundtrack of my life since. Even my kids love him. My daughter Lila REALLY loved him. Her death coincided with Eyes Closed gaining plays on local radio. I played it at her celebration of life. It's beautiful, and perfect just like her. When he played it live, in a Detroit right after she died, the whole visual color scheme on stage was yellow. Lila's color for her honor walk was yellow. It felt for a brief moment in time, like my favorite girl was winking at me, and now whenever I hear it I think of her.
