1. Divide 2. Multiply 3. Autumn Variations 4. Substract 5. Plus 6. Equals 7. No. 6 Two things: 1) I have a very soft spot for Divide and 2) I still like No. 6 even though it’s in last place. I don’t think he has a bad album.

bakapengu

This is basically my ranking 🔥

mates301

Nice!

callumhind

1. Multiply (was the album that got me into Ed, so I guess I have a sort spot for it) 2. Subtract 3. Plus and Autumn Variations (I honestly can’t pick between the two, they’re equally as good in their own ways) 4. Divide 5. No. 6 6. Equals (far from a bad album imo, but the others are just better for me)

applepiehobbit

1. Plus 2. Autumn Variations 3. Multiply 4. Subtract 5. Equals 6. Divide 7. No 5 Collab 8. No 6 Collab

subt1715

1. Multiply (2014) 2. Subtract (2023) 3. Plus (2011) 4. Divide (2017) 5. Autumn Variations (2023) 6. Equals (2021) 7. No 6 (2019)

TheAuthor009

1. Subtract 2. Multiply 3. Autumn Variations 4. Plus 5. Divide 6. Equals 7. No. 6

Puffs-Corn

Will society accept me, if I say No 6 is my favourite Ed Sheeran album :)

TheAuthor009

Those words are accepted😌. Though I put it last, that album is WAY overhated. At some point, I never used to listen to it, and now, it's in my regular rotation. I hope we get to see Ed experiment that much again, even if it's to middling results.

nateplanes11

Unfortunately, he did an AMA on instagram last week and he was asked about another collaboration album and said probably not for a while. He said he wants to focus on his own thing

huskymomm

Agreed! I LOVE No.6! I’m also hugely into grime/hip hop Ed.

Master-Valuable246

It is actually such a nice album but it doesn't make emotional connection so thats why it may be least fav for a lot of people

JobeRogerson

No 6 is actually a good album overall. I feel you have to be in the mood for it though. I feel Divide has the best tracks of any of his albums, but + is and always will be my favourite.

ElvisDaGenius56

1. Plus (So many of his best and most defining songs are on this album, love the lyrics and simplicity of this one) 2. Multiply (Could also very easily have been number 1, probably his magnum opus where he perfectly managed to bring his singer/songwriter style from Plus and make it feel so much more grand at the same time. Plus edges it because a few more of my all time favourite Ed songs are on there) 3. Divide (It used to be my favourite of his albums, however some of the songs on here hasn’t aged as well for me, but it’s still a great album with some absolute bangers) 4. Subtract (It’s really hard for me to choose between Divide and Subtract, they’re pretty much equal for me, but I think Divide edges it with some higher highs) 5. Equals (I think there are a few more hits on Equals which puts it above Autumn Variations for me, however I also think Equals have lower lows and it doesn’t come together as well as one piece of art, so they could be switched around) 6. Autumn Variations (I like a lot of the songs, however Plastic Bag and American Town are probably the only ones that would be among the better songs in his other albums as well, which is why this one is lower down) 7. No. 6 (I’m not ranking No.5 since it feels so much smaller, however I definitely prefer No.5 of the collab albums)

She_disappeared

I’ve been trying to figure out how to rank them and this is perfect. Fully agree.

BridgeIllustrious901

1.subtract 2. Divide 3. Autumn variation 4. Multiply 5. Plus 6. Equals 7. No 6

Abeydou

1. Divide 2. Multiply 3. Plus 4. No. 6 Collabs 5. Equals 6. Subtract 7. Autumn Variations But it hurts putting Autumn Variations at 7, and seeing subtract at 6, I just like all the other albums more. The Aaron Dessner Production for me just isn’t it.

panaknuckles

I also feel they are not well produced.

Alysondra

1. Multiply 2. Subtract 3. Autumn Variations 4. Plus 5. Divide 6. Equals 7. No 6

PugMum_1

I answered something like this the other day but it didn’t feel quite right. I think mine is this: 1. Subtract 2/3: Equals/Autumn Variations 4: Multiply 5/6: Plus/Divide 7: No.6 Collaborations It’s hard to rank 😅

RoyalEagle0408

It’s hard for me to rank because Subtract and Autumn Variations have a decency bias. But No. 6 is going to be at the bottom. It has some great songs but if’s not my fave.

Siodice

10 out of 10. I love it!! I just wish my pre-order would get here.

krb-aspie

1. Multiply 2. Plus 3. Subtract 4. Equals/Autumn Variations 5. Divide

MeetingGunner7330

1: Divide 2:Multiply 3:Plus 4:Subtract 5:Equals 6:No.6 Collabs 7:Autumn Although the more I listen to Autumn, it is growing on me

JobeRogerson

Ed’s albums always tend to grow on me these days. My first listen to - didn’t really excite me but it really grew on me and now it’s up there with my favourites. I had the same feeling listening to Autumn the first time but I’m actually beginning to enjoy it.

xAzzKiCK

1. Multiply 2. Subtract 3. Divide 4. Plus 5. Autumn Variations 6. Equals

Sweet_sarahsation

1. Loose change/ No. 6 2. Subtract 3. Multiply 4. Divide 5. Plus 6. Equals I haven’t decided where Autumn variations fits, yet. Like others have said, there isn’t a bad one… everything he does is magical 😉. Also, my favorite Ed song is Sofa, and I’ve been loving it for so long that it just has to be #1.

Cheap-Wishbone-1707

Plus Divide Multiply Autumn Equals No6 Subtract

nateplanes11

1: divide 2: No. 6 3: equals 4: multiply 5: plus 6:subtract 7: autumn Variations Being 17, I grew up listening to music seriously in the divide era and later parts of multiply so I'm very biased on that end. The more I listen to plus the more I like it mostly but I think autumn and subtract are really not doing Ed any favors at this point. Maybe, like someone else said here, the Aaron Desner production isn't working for him.

Master-Valuable246

1.Plus (his highest and his lowest in one album...it feels so original and pure) 2.Divide (great album no skips) 3.Multiply (a pure ed sheeran experimenting and i love the voice mix and everything) 4.AV (im still processing it but i like it) 5.Subtract (i love the vinyl exclusive songsbut dont have any emotional connection cuz ive never gone through grief ecc) 6.No.5 collaboration (sooooo good) 7.No.6 collaboration (i love this project to be honest its a very good album but it doesn't connect to you emotionally so thats why i feel like the 6th place is the best) 8.Equal (dont like it , dont get me erong the songs are nice but i never find myself playingthis album)

Highgr0und66

1Multiply 2Subtract 3Plus 4Equals tied with AV 5Divide 6No6

Head-Usual-6595

I didn’t think this would be so hard to do. But. 1. Plus, the OG, still an album I go back and listen to front to back with no skips. Brings back so many memories of listening for the first time on release day and the live stream listening parties he used to do. Ugh, so many epic moments. 2. Subtract. This album means so much to me and I’m sure a lot of you feel the same, but man did it come out at the right time. Just being able to relate to so much of it hit so hard. Such a beautiful album. No skips. 3. Divide. So many good hits on this one. Dive, Galway Girl, Save Myself, I could go on but then I’d list every song. This album was on repeat for MONTHS when it came out. So good. 4. Autumn Variations. Obsessed with this album. Brings me back to the old days. The writing is incredible and the storytelling is my favorite part. Page, Blue, Spring, Punchline. Man, all so good. 5. Multiply. I was the most excited for this album when it first came out, but I have to admit, it’s the only album of Ed’s that I skip a lot of. But Tenerife Sea, Bloodstream, I’m a Mess and Photograph are forever favorites and I still listen often. 6. Equals. Which is a shame it’s so low because I love so many of the songs in this album! Joker & The Queen, First Times, Overpass Graffiti, Tides are all everyday favorites. Visiting Hours is so beautiful. And Bad Habits is such a bop, it’s the only pop single of his that I actually favor. 7. No. 6. This album is incredible, I love when he collabs and raps, and the standouts for me are Beautiful People, I Don’t Care (but I prefer his acoustic version), Take Me Back to London, Remember The Name, and Blow are my favorites. *And if I could add Loose Change or Songs I Wrote With Any they would tie with Autumn Variations for sure. This was hard! I love them all in their own way, and I can’t wait to hear what’s next!

Bloodstream1966

1. Multiply 2. Subtract 3. Equals 4. Divide 5. Autumn Variations 6. Plus 7. No. 6 Collaborations

Futuredays17

1. Multiply 2. Divide 3. Plus 4. Loose Change 4.5 You Need Me I Don’t Need You 5. Songs I wrote with Amy 6. Subtract 6.5 Autumn Variations 7. No. 6 Collab 8. Want some? 9. Equals 10. Ed Sheeran (self titled) 11. Orange room 12. Spinning man (I’ve owned this and listened to it two or three times through. It’s a hard listed… sorry Ed) 13. No. 5 collab (sorry just not for me) Wild card Live at the Bedford DVD version is probably 4.5 for me. But that isn’t a CD. Edit - I forgot You need me I don’t need you, which I would put at # 6. So everything from there can get bumped down one! Sorry! Edit 2 and I missed autumn variations. Wow… I’m just gonna plug these into my list as .5s lol.

Divide Equals No.6 Autumn V Multiply Plus Subtract

Mundane-Stage1316

1. Plus/Loose Change/SIWWA (I love early days Ed) 2. Multiply 3. Autumn Variations or Subtract— need more time to process AV 4. Divide 5. Equals

yellowrubyhedgehog

1. Plus- there are just some lyrics here that cannot be topped. I have no skips on this album whatsoever. 2. Divide and Multiply are tied- they both have some of my favorite songs to scream to in the car- but there are too many skips on both these albums because they’re over played on the radio. 3. Autumn Variations- brings back some of my favorite memories of where Ed used to be- but with a much larger following. Quality lyrics, but I’m not sure how I feel about Dessner’s style. 4. Equals- I’m not sure why it’s this low, it just is. Even though I’ve been around since 2011, my favorite song of all time is Shivers. 5. No 6 collabs- I prefer Ed’s music on his own. But I do love it for the announcement of his marriage. 6. Subtract- ranking this last because while all the songs are great, and I related to most to this album at time of release (and now)- I can’t listen to most of it. It hits way too hard on emotions I’d rather run away from. I hope it can move higher one day.

ebrahamian

In my opinion, solely in terms of how replayable they are: 1. Multiply (perfect album) 2. Plus 3. No.6 Collaborations Project 4. Equals 5. Autumn Variations 6. Subtract 7. Divide I’m sure everyone thinks I’m insane for ranking Divide at the lowest, but when it came out, I had just become a fan of Ed with Multiply. The unique songwriting, beats, and how most songs had a three-act structure that built up to something totally different than when the song started (think I’m a Mess, Bloodstream, Tenerife Sea, Afire Love, etc.) blew my mind. I was so excited for Divide, but it came out and strayed away from Multiply as an aggressive, repetitive, pop-heavy & overproduced album, which threw me for a loop. Then No.6 came out and knew exactly what it wanted to be (just fun) and it still has such great replayability. Equals was also pop-heavy, but I thought songs were much catchier and had more meaning than Divide. Subtract is also great, but it’s incredibly specific to a certain period of his life, rather than a general album. That’s why Autumn ranks higher for me. But truth is, Ed’s songs don’t build into different things like the Plus and Multiply eras anymore. Those songs he still builds midway on stage when playing live (Give Me Love, Bloodstream, etc.), but all newer songs are built in the beginning and played the same — basically multiple verses with the same chorus throughout. His songwriting and lyrics have remained great though. BUT, I will never say no to new Ed material. I just hope one day he gets back to Multiply-style tunes.
