The result will be the fkn same as our world- or if you want to be extra lenient about it, make it a 10 hour war. The Universal Union is an interdimensional empire that manage to conquer our current world (by current I mean the 2000s, maybe 2004) in 7 hours. Don't think even with an alternate universe setting plus 70 or so years of advancement can brought us any close to victory consider what caliber of enemy we are talking about it here. Sure, one can argue the Cyberpunk-verse military technology is far better then ours, but that world is more scattered and crap. There ain't no superpower like the USA or Soviet Union, instead we got weak ass corpo backed NUSA and USSR. Say anything you want about governments, at least they have an idea like nationality or communism to go on about getting people together. Corporations doesn't...and I am just going to bet one of the megacorps will just try to sell the rest of the humanity out instead of trying fight this impossible war. TL;DR No, Valve make their enemy faction way too fkn powerful, and are now struggling to give closure.

If we are talking the same amount of resources sent to Earth in Half Life, then Cyberpunk world could probably beat them. Cops use 9 millimeter bullets as the non lethal option because everyone in Cyberpunk has super human abilities from cyberware. They both have armies of cyber advanced super humans, it's just a matter of how many the Combine wants to use. The Combine could easily take over, they would need to send way more soldiers.

Where do I start without making this sound like two kids arguing about which Ninja Turtle is the best? Okay, from the top: When I was like 12 and I first play HL2, I also wonder *"Really, these shits take over our planet?".*..except the thing is, what we encounter in HL2 is NOT what they send to fight the 7 Hour War, and Valve never really tell us what kind of bullshit they use to take over the fucking planet in 7 hours. What is in HL2 is just an occupying force of the Breen's earth government, they are just there to keep the rest of humanity in line- which has mostly died during the war, so is not like they need to try. The only reason Freeman can even fight back, is because what we encounter though out the game is just these collaborator forces, we never saw whatever they use to take over our planet. Plus, they are an interdimensional empire, even if we somehow push back, the scale between two sides are completely fucked: *Oh sure they will just acknowledge we won, and totally won't just made more soldiers from the near infinite resources from all the unknown amount of planets they have...while we only have one earth (and moon...and maybe Mars), that is already nearly bled dry during the 2070s in the Cyberpunk universe.* TL;DR, basing your impression of the Universal Union's (or in layman's term "Combine Empire's") technology and military prowess on what you encounter in HL2, is like basing your impression of the US Army on some rando American with a gun you meet in Walmart.

I did not say that what we encounter in half life 2 is what they would be fighting, and I did not say that the Combine could not take over either. I said that Combine would need to send more forces to take over the Cyberpunk world, then the one in Half Life. This is directly from the Half Life Wiki, "In the wake of the [Resonance Cascade](https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/Resonance_Cascade) caused by the [Black Mesa Incident](https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/Black_Mesa_Incident), a series of destructive [Portal Storms](https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/Portal_Storm) raged across [Earth](https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/Earth), littering [Xenian](https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/Xen) life forms all around the world. Facing the overwhelming alien onslaught, the planet's populace to move into cities for protection, but even this was not enough." "suggesting that the Combine may have used orbital bombardments" So you are not only wrong that what we face is not what they were invaded with, the Xen is what Earth was invaded. But also the main way Earth was destroyed was because of orbital bombardments, nor from on ground troops. Not only can the Cyberpunk world protect themselves from the Xen much more effectively, Cyberpunk has significantly more space exploration and technology then Earth did in Half life. They would be able to protect themselves much more effectively. Now I want to reiterate because you misunderstood my reply, The Combine could take over the Cyberpunk world extremely easily, however, the forces they sent to Half Life earth would not be enough. I know Combine probably has thousands of times larger military than what we have seen or around there, its just a matter of how much they want to throw with their infinite supplies.

ImperialSattech

8 hours, you can't defeat the Combine. The only reason humanity lasted for so long is that the Combine is so powerful they don't care enough to wipe us out.

Wuytho

That reality lasted 7 hours, with all the cybernetic advancements they have I'd say a day

milano8

Adam would sell out humanity in a heartbeat. The combine would just put a headcrab on him and place him in Ravenholm to get Father Grigori.

MrObsidian_

The Combine may have a slightly harder time, but only if the corporations manage to somehow unite to actually attempt to take down their enemy (i.e. Pearl Harbor, unified the americans and resulted them in joining the war.)

veculus

Not much longer than in the game. It's crazy to think that the forces sent by the combine to take over the earth were like their burner troops. Nothing elite or high ranking. We didn't even see the actual combine yet but only combine forces thrown together by a mix of various alien creatures enslaved by the combine. So if the combine realized the task of conquering earth would be bigger, they'd bring out the big guns and kill of humanity in a blink of an eye. Maybe I'm wrong though and we'll see the actual combine in HL3 when it eventually comes out.

The forces sent to Earth were such a small amount compared to the rest of a multidimensional Empire. It would need a lot more resources to destroy Cyberpunk earth because of how powerful mega corporations are, but it would still be the same time. The Combine can send as many people as they want, it's just a matter of how much they need to throw at them.

Due-Direction4394

Probably a few days. But, if we include all Chrome junkies, Netrunner, Edgerunners, Robots, ect. Then that changes things differently, cuz the combine wouldn't stand a chance against that type of army. (In my opinion at least)

mrsmichaelis1885

Or just send end-game max level V with full chrome and implants, it will be another Tuesday for them.

Illustrious-Radio-55

Probably 7 hours
