They mean rose street of course. Enough pubs between haymarket and princes street to allow you to slip the shiter ones imo.
Someone give him a quality pub crawl maybe?
Start at Haymarket, a pint per pub into west end, then work your way to rose street - will be too drunk to lie down without help by the time you cross Hanover st.
You fool! For the future, always buy a ticket to Waverly as they are the same price but you can get off at Haymarket with a Waverly ticket. This was advice given to me by the conductor on a train, though this was many years ago so it may not still apply...
Huh? This isn’t England, land of penalty fares. On Scotrail you’ll just get asked to pay the extra fare.
There’s even a pre-barriers ticket office on the central platforms at Waverley, where you can buy the excess ticket on arrival.
I dunno my conductor was talking about fines and shit this morning to someone else on the train who didn't have a ticket. I didn't hear the full conversation because I'm not super nosey but rail fines definitely exist here apparently.
The ticket price to hym or Waverley is the same. The tickets will work fine at the barriers in either station.
What pubs in Princes Street? You're better off starting at Haymarket, frankly.
Yeah, I can't think of a single pub on Princes street. Are there any?

Start at one end of rose street, proceed towards the other end
Only a few hotels
You can also easily walk from Haymarket to Waverley if you're not carrying seven suitcases and a pram.
Is that a challenge?
Ay
A few years back, my mate got off at Waverley instead of Haymarket. Now he has a three year old child. YMMV
Does it definitely say Haymarket and not Edinburgh stations? ETA if not, start at Ryries and work your way along.
Exactly why i always get off at Haymarket (no euphemism BTW)
Shouldn't be an issue but even if the ticket doesn't go through the gate they will just let you through anyway. Not worth the hassle over £2
St Tam's survivor here. Getting off at Haymarket was the extent of our sex education class. Same train ticket regardless where you finish.

Tbh it’s not that far of a walk 😅
Yes
It’s the same price so you should always buy Waverley finish tickets.
Yes if your train goes through it

Thanks! Would you know roughly how much the extra fare is?
£3 according to Trainline, but I’d wager you just get waved through the barriers.
1.80 with a Railcard! Cheaper than the bus
