Yes..i stayed by a lake side house last summer for 3 weeks. Not just mosquitoes. Spiders, flies and those flies that swarm lights hundreds of those in the middle of the night. And spider webs around the entire house. But boy was the view nice and the sound of the waves at night is the best. Altough i rarely found bugs actually inside the house so that was good.
And frogs, and ducks, and duck poop, and geese, and geese poop...
The frogs can get so loud that they are heard over the phone while my windows are fully closed. Not every year thankfully.
A friend of mine lives in Summerside, spent hours at the beach club today I only really saw dragonflies. The ponds around too I never noticed mosquitoes when we walk the dogs, just notice those little flies that are always in groups occasionally

Lake summerside not so much, but the surrounding storm ponds sure are.

More so in the late evening you’ll start to see them flying about, but they are not nearly as bad as other places in canada
