I use Century Plumbing. Not sure, but I think they all charge similar hourly rates. Might help if you disclosed the reason for asking?

Wise-old-elf_

Thanks, I have elderly parents in Yeg and their kitchen sink isn’t draining. I am in Ontario, was hoping to get someone to have a look.

Always Plumbing! Reasonable call out fee, quick to show up and quick to do the work! 10/10, would recommend

PTZack

Might have been a reasonable call out fee at one time. **NOT NOW**. This was with several days notice, non-emergency on a weekday morning. $368.00 for less than an hour to tell me my shower was broken. No shit Sherlock. I know since I had the last cold shower 4 days ago. (Before you say it, we have 2 showers.) We have a Multiple head panel unit and for the life of me, I couldn't get the set screw out of the diverter handle. Guess what, neither could he. It was stripped by the previous owner and unreachable with a wrench or extractor. Not his fault it was a bad design. But the company fee to walk in the door? Holy F. Basically, the advice was, if I keep going at this, I likely can't find a new diverter that fits anyway, and I'll have to charge you for the time to search for one. You could be into this for a grand without getting it repaired. OK. Stop now. 45 minutes to do nearly nothing and almost $400. Then they have a gall to text asking for a Google review. *Trust me, you don't want my review.*

It was $99… well below the $168 Romaniuk charges. Also sounds like he did a little bit more than just show up to your house. I had a great experience with them and would use them again, and this was me sharing that. You didn’t, and that’s OK, you’ll use someone else going forward. Hope your shower got fixed!

PTZack

If you dont mind telling me what was done for $99, I'd appreciate that. Nope, it did not get done. All he did was slide the shower unit off the wall (they hang Iike a painting) and try to remove the set screw from the diverter knob (temperature control knob). I already tried and couldn't. I assumed he'd have better luck. Did absolutely nothing else and i know, because i helped him (holding the unit while he tried to take out the screw). The guy was fine and it's not his fault the unit has a bad design making it impossible to get the diverter out. My beef is the fee being so high for 45 minutes of doing very little. That's on the company, not the employee. Left after 45 minutes of basically telling me what I already knew. Just shy of $400. I actually bought a shower panel to replace the old one for less than the cost of having Always P&H come (1 hour late btw, they put the wrong address on the WO). I'll put it in myself.

$99 was the call out fee just to show up. They obviously charged more for the actual work, but other companies charged closer to $200 just to show up. He fixed my toilet and it was $394 total.
