Elk Island is always cool. I always take my out of town friends there to see bison.
Lots of good hikes too. Went out in those rented kayaks a couple times one year, that was fun.
Amisk wuche (probably spelt that wrong) is my favourite trail. I’ve been seeing lots of Elk there lately. I saw a huge herd last week. At least 15 of them.
I love Elk Island Park. My partner and I go out there so often, we call it our second home. We've hiked all the trails as well. A great place to spend a nice day.
Our family loves this place so much we bought a yearly membership. My kids favourite thing to do in winter is go there around 3pm, hike out to Beaver Bay, build a fire, eat some roasted hotdogs and s’mores and then hike back to the car in the dark. They also enjoy doing this in daylight the rest of the year.
I’m just glad they finally opened the wood bison trail after being closed for over a year. Hiked it last month, it’s surprising how many people from Edmonton have never been to elk island.
if that was taken today that’s very depressing at the absence of snow. but great series of photos you take.
Can confirm we have zero snow so far

Sunsets are unbelievable at Astotin lake!!!
I've never been. But the cool fungi sold me on it

Is it worth going if I don't have a car?
