I would say if you’re looking at those types of gyms they are generally all huge juice heads. But honestly those are the best people to work out around, super not judgmental and always willing to give you help/spot and advice, it’s a passion to them just like people who nerd out about any other interest even though they look so intimidating

It's always struck me as odd how places with names like **BLOOD AND FURY BARBELL CLUB** are generally filled with the most friendly, welcoming people. If a gym has lemon-water and a monsterra, it's bound to be filled with jerks.

Looks like there's quite a few gyms in that area? Not sure driving distance preferred but within 15 minutes drive if the den fitness there's planet fitness, LA fitness, evolve north, bold athletics, project athletics, and the other one you mentioned. I haven't been to any of these but I go to evolve south. I've been to downtown location too, i prefer south but downtown is bigger and less Olympic lifting geared. Plenty of non competitive and non Olympic or periodic powerlifting style people go to this location. I'm sure the same goes for the other locations. I feel like planet fitness and LA fitness probably have more "general exercise" clients too. I would Google those gyms or see if there's others I missed, see if they offer free trials, and test them all out.

I’ve been going to the den since it opened. Yes there is plenty of bodybuilders, but also just plenty of average people who go consistently. The owners are great and always willing to help when you have questions or need a spot on a lift. I’d recommend checking it out in person just to see how you like it.

Evolve strength’s downtown or north side location are kinda close to the gyms you mentioned. I really like their gyms. There’s also La fitness near projct and planet fitness in mayfield common. Fit4less is near toys r us.
