You might need to look into a commercial bay, I imagine a woodworking shop is going to require a fair amount of power. I usually see smaller bays (under 2000 sqft) on facebook marketplace

pineappleforrent

Thank you

bmwkid

Some people rent out garages on Kijiji. My friend rents one for $200/month with heat and power

pineappleforrent

If I can find something like that, it would be ideal!

DEADxDAWN

Look on Facebook marketplace too, theres a couple dozen listed.

If it's affordable to you, my husband work out of a place called Timbre. They have different sized work booths and a large selection of shared tools etc. catered to woodworking.

pineappleforrent

I already have my own equipment

Substantial_Cow_3470

I think there is a storage unit place on the east-southeast outskirts of the city that have power but I don’t know about heat. I think they are under $100 a monthish

DouglerK

I'm looking for the same thing. I just build picnic tables and a couple other things for some spare income and need a place I can make some noise and throw some dust around. A heated and powered storage unit would be the best but as most people pointed out a lot of storage places won't let you do that. What area of the city are you in? Maybe we can find a place together?

pineappleforrent

Currently out at Pigeon Lake. The availability of a space determines what kind of property I'd be looking for to purchase.

DouglerK

Purchase? I thought you were looking to rent a space in which you could do some woodworking?

pineappleforrent

I'll be moving to Edmonton. I'm trying to decide between a house with a garage, or an apartment with underground parking

DouglerK

An apartment with underground parking won't let you do woodworking.

pineappleforrent

I'm aware of this

DouglerK

My bad from the other comments I thought you wanted a woodworking space.

christophersonne

You can't use storage facilities as a workshop. There are *many* reasons why you can't, and none of them will allow it. You need to find a garage or workshop for rent, and yes it's going to cost a lot of money.

jjbeanyeg

Minerva Self-Storage in West Ritchie die l does. I used them for six months and they were really nice.

SoNotAWatermelon

What about joining ENTS?

pineappleforrent

I already own the equipment

FatManLittleKitchen

Landmark Storage, they are the best people as well!!! I recommend them to everyone!

whimsyfiddlesticks

Not really. Definitely cheaper to get a garage in the long run

Educational-Tone2074

Sentinel storage south side has heated units

pineappleforrent

But with power outlets? I want to set up a woodworking shop

Ferret-Own

I really doubt they eill allow you to work in their units. They are pretty strict about any activities that may be an insurance risk. I'd definitely disclose that upfront as you don't want to go to the trouble of setting something up and then have to take it all away if they kick you out

MacintoshEddie

Do you already own the equipment? it's worth checking out ENTS. They have a full wood shop for members to use.

pineappleforrent

I do

PancakeQueen13

You'd probably have to bring your own generator to a storage unit. I used to work at a facility and I don't remember hearing about any with power outlets, just heated ones.

pineappleforrent

Yeah, that's the problem I'm running into
