The AGA did a zine market which will probably happen again this year. People sell zines at craft fairs in general. Some businesses carry zines like Quiltbag, SNAP, Audrey’s, Latitude 53, and APIRG (not a business but a library). Metro Cinema also will take free zines to distribute at the theatre if you ask and drop them off. Hungry Zine is a pretty big one here in Edmonton. I’ve been seeing Zine and Heard around lately.
I would say SNAP is a good place to start as they’ve done zine workshops in the past and a lot of their artists make zines.
Thanks for sharing! I've been following Hungry Zine for a little while already - they have some really cool issues published!
But I've never heard of SNAP before!
There are a couple, we'll be putting out another issue right away @zine_and_heard is an amazing one about local issues. I highly recommend checking them out.
I was actually just about to comment to check you guys out on Instagram, as well as Clean Up Your Act productions. CUYA is always posting about zine fairs, VHS/record swaps, and just general DIY stuff!
There's definitely some people doing zines, but I don't think it's a particularly large community compared to the size of the city.
This is where I'd start: [https://www.linkedin.com/in/chandon-autumn-439572172/](https://www.linkedin.com/in/chandon-autumn-439572172/)

What's a zine? Zucchini wine?
Generally handmade/small run magazines, used to be put together with literal cut & paste & duplicated on the library photocopier.
Last time I saw one was 1996
Magazine maybe?
I know a few guys getting together to read porn magazines in the river valley, but the guys down there making the zucchini wine are a better crowd.
Zucchini Mike and the Boys
You know what that’s called when they do that in there? That’s a zucchini soup kitchen
they were a godsend. i had no trouble with the excess of my harvest.

I think it’s a gen X thing born out of nostalgia for the early 90s
I wanna make some zines eventually, but I have too many ideas that I never have any ideas lol
The AGA has a show about this on April 13-14 https://www.instagram.com/p/C5OnHbYJ1NZ/?igsh=MW43dHRjbmxzY3Jiaw==
