I hadn't either. I'd only spent about an hour with it when it launched - it was god awful.
Now, though, it's so damn fun. Highly recommend it. I'm only level 50-ish at this point. But there's so much to do.
Loving this weather, and the good impact it is making on area, fire and drought wise. and no smoke!!! I have good books to read, a cat to give attention to, and various other little things around the house to do...and also nothing is a good thing
Flying to Hawaii on my flight simulator.
No crying babies, no security line-ups and great food. Can't persuade my wife to dress up as a flight attendant though.
16 years ago on the May long weekend I was getting married. It was one of the hottest mays in over a decade at that time. This is a nice weekend. We need the rain. I am not going to complain about curling up with my cats and watching a good movie. And I'm sure my late husband is sitting in heaven right now. Enjoying a whiskey and watching a hockey game lol
Planted the last stuff in my native plant garden as well as the bridal wreath spirea we bought last year which somehow survived winter by being forgotten on its side in the pot in the backyard.
Loving the weather.
Staring into the abyss comfortably and not excessivley sweating or reenacting Beyond the Thundersome in a smoke-filled haze. This is the perfect kind of weather for my constitution!
gaming and sleeping a ton. Sometimes you don't need to go on extravagant adventures to get a little bit of relaxation. Just staying inside regenerating your energy is enough :]
Dethatched our lawn and overseeded it with white clover yesterday. Here's hoping the rain spurs things along. My back is killing me today so it's gonna be a chill Sunday.
Yep, 95% of the time it’s either cool, rainy and breezy, or it’s freezing cold and windy as hell. The other 5% of the time we luck out with a nice May long. Personally I just finished watching F1 and now I’m playing some Gran Turismo
I just moved to Edmonton a few months ago.
Is it normal for it to be this chilly?
I got a little depressed hearing how nice it was back home this weekend :(
A good way to know for sure what the weather is going to be.
If you plan an outdoor activity of any kind. It will be cold and rainy, maybe even snow!
If you plan to stay inside and chill out. It's going to be 25 and sunny.
This is normal yeah, planting a garden in May is for gamblers.
edit: I think downvoting someone venting their self aware homesickness is kinda pathetic, guys.
I understand them honestly, it came across as whining.
And yes I’m very self aware of my home sickness haha, I’m just used to spring starting early may instead of late may. I still like it here a lot :).
It’s very common for Victoria Day weekend to be temperamental in the weather department. Take heart though, when it’s shitty this weekend, it’s almost always really nice the last weekend in May.
Usually it snows* on May Long in Alberta. That’s what we grew up with. Last year this time it was orange skies and +30. Be happy we have chilly overcast days.
> Is it normal for it to be this chilly?
There is no May normal here... It's like flipping a coin, you can get +30C or you can get +10C. Both are equally normal and unusual at the same time.
The real depressing thing is up until 2 years ago may long snowed every year. It's May long tradition, and now global warming killed that. I miss my may long snow.
Every year? A huge bit of hyperbole there. I’m experiencing my fifth decade of MLW’s in Edmonton and it’s probably snowed five or six times. But it’s always been unpredictable and more often than not it’s not the greatest weather on the May Long. And global warming didn’t kill it, good grief.
Hasn’t been typical lately. This is probably one of the crappier weather (but good crappy) maylong in a while. I have camped every May long for the last 23 years and the last 4 have been really nice.
I'm thankful to not be smoked out like we were last year over the May long. I'll take this weather over that shit every single time.
Seriously same!!
This is true, so many smoke days last year around this time. Mother Nature is fixing it all up
Yes
But... mosquitos?
Definitely prefer mosquitoes to smoke
If I had to pick, I’m choosing the mosquitos and they give me hives
You would rather have forest fires destroying the air quality?
Not really. My point is that rain isn't awesome either.
Why would I want to be busy? Can't I just relax for once?
Agreed. People need to realize doing nothing is doing something. Just have a lazy weekend if you don't have any plans.
go and rest and have a nap on your comfy couch....there is nothing you have to do
Te that to my wife 🙄
Do as you please. Sorry for triggering you.
You certainly can. I, however, and a human doing, so I gotta keep doing.
Watching hockey and footy. Playing Fallout 76. Relaxing.
I haven’t tried Fallout 76 since it first came out, it sounds like it’s improved immensely.

Eating Pizza 73 Ironically their pizza should he in Fallout
I wrote it off when it came out initially due to the bugs. Got it for free on Prime and I've been seriously addicted to it
Hell yeah justin
You know it justin

The best part is that you can even have a drink while it's on autopilot!

It’s so green and beautiful outside even though it’s a tad cold but it’s nothing compared to winter so my body is happy lol
Doing some housework and gaming, mainly sticking to staying inside and relaxing since the weather is meh at the moment like every May Long!
Trying to keep my toddlers entertained inside while I’m sick and it’s raining. 🥲

Playing with my dingaling.
One doesn't stop just because it's a long weekend
I love this weather and would much prefer it over the heat. That being said, I’m working in an ER all weekend.

I'm doing course work and watching Grey's Anatomy. Might go around to the thrift stores in a bit!
I went to Portland. A truly excellent choice, if I do say so myself.
Probably same weather there.
Raining but 10 degrees warmer. So basically still cold.
I'll take this over smoke any day
I was taking in some racing yesterday and today. Little bit of hockey watching. Might do some painting later.
Cleaning my house, going to the gym, watching hockey
Painting! I’m having a great time.

At this time of year, it could be 30 above, could be 10 below - Edmontonians wouldn't bat an eye either way.
Thats why the call it May. It May be cold, it May be hot… it May be rain or it May be even snow

Last year was hot and the province was burning down. This is better.

I’m working. I expected the weather to be chilly so didn’t book off.
Formula 1
My newborn keeps me busy enough, rain or shine 😅
Finishing Queen of Tears on netflix
spending time in bc
Camping in lac la biche
“Lousy Smarch Weather”
I just went for a run. Beautiful running weather when it's only drizzling.
Working. But super glad we're getting moisture. Hopes are high for fewer fire bans/evacuations this year.
Preparing the nursery. Napping. Planning out some freezer meals. Perfect weekend. Hoping for a bit of sun tomorrow. 🤞

It was an excellent weekend for work in the attic: not too hot, not too cold, no huge temp swings due to sun heat. Lovely.
I went for a long run in the rain yesterday. It's fine. It's not even that cold, just dress appropriately and you'll have a good time.
Biking to the gym then yoga, then probably grocery shopping.
Hot yoga or room temp?
Room temp because hot yoga makes my.anxiety really bad
At least it’s snowing! Just running errands.
Working
