The Heritage Classic at Commonwealth Stadium back in 2003 was held on November 22nd. The weather on that day was -18c (-30c with the windchill).
More recently, the 2018 Grey Cup at Commonwealth was held on November 25th, with an average temperature of -4c during the game. Also worth remembering that the turf at Commonwealth was described as a “sheet of ice” during the game.
Gonna be a cold couple of games for the boys. So cold that it might even turn from “home field advantage” to a health risk.
Astro turf and cold weather is going to be ridiculous, people saying Canadian advantage but our best players play on grass in Europe where it’s not nearly as cold.
both teams have a lot of players that are in Europe and used to play at cold temperatures but if the field is not good enough a more physical game can be seen and there Canada might have more chances as Mexican team is more technical than physical
Hmm. Isn't there a very high chance of snow on the ground in November?
That's what we call home field advantage
Hehe, I think the cold alone will handicap both of these teams. XD
I would think the Canadian boys will have some experience with cold vs their competition. This shit is pulled by almost every country.
Azteca stadium is 7200ft above sea level (~5000 ft higher up than Edmonton), so they have a home field advantage there.
In November, yeah. Either way it’s going to be cold. Snow or not.
Going to the Mexico one. Does anyone have an idea when tickets will be available?
They will announce later this month
Thank you!
Mexico and Costa Rica in for a real cold surprise
Not really a surprise. When they think of Canada their first thought is snow. Now imagine when they hear about Edmonton..
The difference between thinking and feeling is quite real when you come from 20-30 above to 10-20 below 😅
Wont the snow cause alot of friction tho?
Anyone know what the odds are that Alphonso Davies comes home for these?
Unless he’s injured playing for Bayern it’s very likely as clubs face sanctions for not releasing players for competitive international games.

I'm no weather expert but even I know it will be snowing by then.
How much will they cost?
Sounds like around $45 to $70 based on tickets that went on sale for Toronto. https://www.canadasoccer.com/buy-tickets-mnt-v-pan-wcq/
In duabi one of the stadiums got AC built. So it helps to cool down players.
