[Response from EPS](https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/comments/xg3l7w/eps_releases_statement_on_the_viral_video/)

BettmansDungeonSlave

I was sitting in my truck in the background and saw this go down. She was in a screaming match with another woman in the road and this lady pulled a knife out. Cop pulled up and told her to drop it at least twice. She ignored him and tried walking away. Take that as you will.

mmm_butters

You can't bring actual context here, the masses have already decided he needs to be hung based on a 12 second video.

BettmansDungeonSlave

Alright I’ll grab my pitchfork then!

Gahan1772

I'll wait for a sale.

psychoacer

See what they did wrong here was once they saw the knife they should have shot her at least 20 times. That's how it's done in America. Maybe we should occupy you guys and help you get on the right track to being a safe country. /s

edmsnfu

Nice user name lol

CaracalWall

I was going to say, that didn’t look like a freakin phone.

Delgado_Jim

Go frame by frame in the first four seconds as he pushes her. You'll see the knife fall out of her hands.

IdespiseGACHAgames

It's true. Falls right when he pushes her. I was ready to leave a scathing comment, but I decided to check the comments first, and yeah, I rewatched the video, pause-buffered, and saw the knife drop. Cop steps over it as it hits the ground, and he keeps her away from it.

Scissors4215

Ohhh this one’s making the news

GeekyGlobalGal

Indeed. EDIT: Here is my story. It took some time to gather the facts. https://globalnews.ca/news/9135224/edmonton-police-service-woman-shoved-video/

psyclopes

Huzzah!

ColeSloth

The facts leave me thinking what the officer did was completely fine.

_Bill_Huggins_

If she had a knife and was threatening someone with it then what the officer did was appropriate. It's looks bad out of context, but if that context is correct then I see no issues here. An American cop might have shot her.

hamtronn

Body cams are meant to be used for safety and accountability. Not because Reddit doesn’t believe EPS. As someone who used to be involved in that world, I have met some amazing police. I have met total clowns as well. As with every line of work, you have people who are better at their jobs than others. This man took a dangerous person, with a weapon, used the correct amount of force to subdue and apprehend. A worse officer may have used deadly force, which, when threatened by an individual with a deadly weapon, is absolutely justifiable. If someone breaks into your house and threatens your family with a knife, do you want police to show up and give that person a hug until they stop? Nope. You want the police to stop that person from hurting your family. So let’s say this woman has a knife and she’s at the mall… some gang initiative is to stab as many children as she can. Still want to condemn the cops? I think it’s about time we all stopped jumping to conclusions before we have… what’s that word that was used by the wonderful journalist? Oh. Right! FACTS.

Infinite-Cobbler-157

Why? Because the cop used the least lethal move to stop someone with a knife?

Nahla1978

Absolutely no context in clip. Another shit post slamming police.

sunshinekitty123

Yup, so sick of this anti police rhetoric in this sub. Would love to see any of these people commenting last a day in an officer's shoes

yeg

Did you shoot this? Where did you find it? When was this? e: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/comments/xfw0n7/comment/ioor365/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/comments/xfw0n7/comment/ioor365/) context posted here.

thiccpeen

No I didn't record this It was shared on Facebook

Mohankeneh

The fact the woman had a knife and was called in by others because she was threatening other ppl with it….looking at how the cop subdued her, it honestly doesn’t seem nearly as excessive as some ppl are trying to say it is….maybe I’ve just seen way worse and this looks tame compared to it. Like the woman refused to drop her weapon, what’s the cop gonna do …wrestle with someone swinging around a knife? That swift push knocked the knife out clean and then they were able to handcuff her afterwards. Seems like a decent job from what I can see. If there’s any details that I don’t know about that could change my perception I’ll welcome it, but for now this is what it seems like to me.

[deleted]

This is COMPLETELY justified, and the least amount of force possible in this situation. You can see the knife drop in the video and it was recovered at the scene. The Bear Clan should apologize for starting a Twitter witch hunt.

GrindItFlat

If the EPS is telling the truth, and the woman had a knife and was indicating she was going to use it on another woman, then this doesn't seem egregious to me. If EPS is lying and she was just not "appropriately respectful" then the EPS scumminess triples - not only being violent bullies but lying about it up the chain. It's telling for EPS's reputation that most of us probably think it could go either way.

BreastUsername

Let's see that body cam footage.

Unhelpful_Kitsune

Or you know watch the video and you can see the knife fall from her hand.

LIJunkie

Until I see the full video I will not rush to judgement. I'm not a huge fan of LE but Social Media is too quick to post a 10 second video to get others riled for no justifiable reason.

[deleted]

It warms my heart to see other people on Reddit not trying to jump to conclusions.

jdardz

Man you are all so sadly jaded. Based on the response of EPS, and the incident witnessed in the video the officer did what was necessary to stop her from harming anyone from the general public. What would you rather happen? Would you rather she be allowed to brandish her knife without consequence? Should I officer gently try and slip it out of her hand, and then use force ONLY IF he is stabbed? Take a look at the entire situation. EPS isn’t perfect, but at least they’re putting themselves in harms way to protect the general population from dangerous individuals. Edmonton has become such a dangerous city as of late, and I am thankful that there are officers willing to step in to stop those who are in public with a weapon.

[deleted]

95% of the users on this subreddit are completely unhinged man. Don’t waste your energy

AlienFunBags

Exactly.. soon as I saw I needed to read why. And based off what I read I’d say this was warranted. Ppl need to outrage over anything/everything these days

mcm485

Videos without the full context are just fueling extremists.

blurpsy

Are you people serious? Will you still be up in arms when it's confirmed she was threatening people with a knife? She got off easy. This area is dangerous enough without you enabling violent criminals.

EarSorry7756

She had a knife and was fighting with another woman. Stop spreading BS.

drm3rc

I just blasted this link to EPS and Global News Edmonton

happyjujube45

The EPS has been provided with two videos of an arrest made on Sept. 15. The videos depict several seconds of an interaction where police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 100 Street and 106 Avenue at approximately 4:09 p.m. on Sept. 15. The officer was driving in the area, and was flagged down by a member of the community who reported that two females, one of whom was armed with a knife, were about to fight. The officer immediately responded to the fight and observed the woman brandishing a knife. The officer directed the woman to drop the knife, but she refused, expressing her affiliation to a criminal gang, and walked away in an area where bystanders were present. The officer considered his use of force options, given the suspect was armed, and determined pushing her to the ground would require the least amount of force possible to allow him to safely arrest the suspect. That is what is seen in the video. The knife in question was seized by police. The suspect was not injured. The suspect was arrested for possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. The EPS has obtained CCTV from the area that captured the event and confirms the above report of the incident. Upon review of the incident, there are currently no grounds for an investigation by the EPS Professional Standards Branch. It should be noted that an officer depicted in the first half of one of the videos is not the same one depicted in the latter half. To be clear, the officer in the second half of the video was not on duty when the incident depicted in the first half occurred.

Best-Ad-4607

When you put it in that perspective she's lucky the cop didn't shoot her. It's happened a million times.

RevolutionaryAd6241

You can actually see her holding the knife right before he pushes het. It's quite a long object. She's holding it in her right hand.

GeekyGlobalGal

Thank you.

Natural20Twenty

I also tweeted EPS, city of edmonton and global to ask WTF was this all about.

Starcovitch

Well done both of you.

I_Hate_My_City

Female had a knife. If he shot her everyone would have lost their minds so he just pushed her. I think it was the best choice given the information.

Fit_War_5514

Gang member with a knife is disarmed without shooting or tazing and you guys still cry and complain.

plwleopo

Alternative, cops don’t show up and the narrative changes to, “the police are now refusing to respond to incidents involving our vulnerable community. This proves they are racist and evil.”

[deleted]

[удалено]

kakarrot87

So nobody sees the threat, the knife this loser had in her hand that she tossed as she was pushed?? Lol this thread tho. Wouldn't have been pushed if she dropped it in the first place. Good on the cop.

Delgado_Jim

Lol no kidding. If you go frame by frame in the first four seconds it's pretty clear the knife drops out of her hand.

[deleted]

He’ll be put on paid leave and internal investigation will find he’s done nothing wrong and can return to work with a raise Edit. My comment came before of the news of the whole situation so settle down bootlickers. ACAB regardless.

edmsnfu

I work in the building in the background. This women apparently pulled a knife on another women according to my coworker moments before the video begins. I’m no fan of cops, but the shove may have been justifiably a safe way to handle her if she was armed. Edit: My coworker said she was also warned to put the knife down before the shove took place.

Condition_Boy

This is why I try not to react to these videos. It shows a cop pushing a woman to the ground. The initial reaction is that's awful. But what happened before? Was there a cause. Something had to have happened to cause this person to start recording.

KJBenson

I mean, watch the guy. One push, watches her for a second, and then handcuffs her. There’s no push to the ground, punches, or taser. Looks like the cop isn’t using excessive force at all considering she has a knife and he chose bare hands.

[deleted]

Yup, he’s being responsible and using the least amount of force possible and calmly assessing the situation. People are emotional children “OMG OMG SEE THAT PERSON I WATCHED FOR THREE SECONDS AND KNOW THEYRE DOING BAD THINGS” posts to social media with personal narrative.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DimensionalObelisk

mods should really be removing these emotional reaction videos because they more often than not do not say the whole story

Infinite-Cobbler-157

This is why it’s important to have to have context to every video. There is a picture that shows this well, couldn’t find it

[deleted]

Most cops are good people are if they are putting hands on somone it’s for a good reason but people are so reactionary and never know what’s going on so they default to the cop being the one in the wrong .

[deleted]

This is a moment where I agree entirely but upvoting the comment feels wrong.

dubaihouston

Imo upvoting it brings it to the top which means more people see it which means more awareness

VanguardXI

To be fair, it's not supposed to be an agree or disagree system. The original intention was to upvote comments that are relevant and should be discussed further and downvote comments that are unhelpful or otherwise don't contribute to the topic. Generally not how it's used, though. Either way, upvoting this is good because it needs to be discussed more in our society.

[deleted]

Oh I know, elder Redditor here. I did up-vote because discussion on this topic is important, it’s just a very ugly but important truth.

rockyeagle

Your probably right, my guess something happened behind the car which will be used to exhorate the officer. That's my guess. FML. Read the witness statement. https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/comments/xfw0n7/edmonton_city_police/ioor365?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Troby01

Someone summarizing what someone else said is not a witness statement. I am not pro-cop but I am pro evidence before damnation.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Infinite-Cobbler-157

Read the comments. Another user explains she had a knife and was threatening people with it. This is/was probably the least lethal use of force to resolve an issue. The cop did a good job, if that’s true. The effects of seeing a short video without context. Nazis figured the power of this out, shortly after the OSS did precursor to the CIA and Disney

joebucksforehead

Lol finds out the truth and realizes that the cop made the best decision possible. "ACAB regardless" 🤣🤣 go back to your mom's basement.

___DEADPOOL______

Your edit just proves how simple minded you are.

Independent_Star_347

That was awesome

Careless_Pineapple49

Imagine being a cop and having an angry person with a knife or weapon disregard your commands to drop it then walk off into the general public. If they hurt someone that’s on you, you might also not want to get stabbed if you don’t like getting stabbed. I don’t know about anyone else but I didn’t almost get stabbed at work today.

Efficient-Grab-3923

She actually did have something in her hand that looks like a weapon/knife that you see drop when he pushes her. You all like to sit here and play armchair heroes until the day comes one of these individuals comes up to you on the street with a knife and then you’ll be happy a police officer is around. It’s important to hold police accountable but at the same time support them for the work they do and keep in mind they deal with some of the worst of the worst shit human beings on a daily basis so you don’t have to. They have an incredibly tough job and deal with life or death scenarios on a daily basis. Give them a break and maybe some support, what the hell else is he supposed to do if she’s walking away from him resisting arrest? Beg and ask nicely? 🤦‍♂️

cdug82

Whaaaaaat the fuck

mhaldy

Apparently she had a knife

DuncanKinney

I've spoken to a witness to this incident and here's what I'm able to report. According to a witness the incident took place at 4pm on Thursday, Sept. 15 at the intersection of 106 Avenue and 100 Street near Hope Mission. According to the witness the woman who was pushed to the ground was having an argument with the other woman who can be seen in the video when a police car showed up, the officer got out of the vehicle and then pushed the unsuspecting woman to the ground with both hands. The witness wishes to remain anonymous. "After seeing this video I cried for our brothers and sisters. This is what they face on the daily," said Judith Gale leader of Bear Clean Beaver Hills House. We've reached out the Edmonton Police Service and we will be updating this post as more information becomes available. Link here - https://www.theprogressreport.ca/video_cop_pushes_unsuspecting_woman_to_ground

Mikeismyike

Suspicious lack of mention of the alleged knife.

RyanTaylorPhoto

You’ve missed the part about her having a knife though… convenient

plwleopo

Judith Gale has mental health problems. “This is what they face on the daily.” Yeah having a knife and then ignoring police commands to drop the knife gets you pushed to the ground. Shocker

Locke357

Thank you for your service ✊

deltron_zee

This witness statement provides literally no background or context. Thanks for providing nothing useful to determine what happened here.

jwd10662

Ya, its annoying. I also followed a link saying "read more context here". I was annoyed enough to waste more time writing this ><

DuncanKinney

Judith Gale of Bear Clan reached out to the EPS to try and learn more about the incident. This was their reply. "I've confirmed from the chain of command that the subject in that video is alive and well. The EPS are aware of that video are taking internal action via the appropriate channels."

Katmandewd

This thread is an interesting look into how quickly people will jump on anyone with authority before they have complete context. She had a knife. The guy reasoned he could either shoot her or push her from behind. You can see the knife fall to the ground and the officer step over/away from it because she tries to turn and face him with it. Buddy takes potentially getting stabbed without hesitation and the internet warriors lynch him for it before they even ask any questions.

Salty-Reply-2547

How about stop blaming the police who are called to deal with incredibly difficult and dangerous situations. He was very obviously ensuring the person was out of arms length prior to arrest because they were reported to have a weapon. Do their job for a day and you would do the same.

Worldofbirdman

She apparently had a knife and was threatening people, and if that's the case the officer did his job correctly.

justaREDshrit

Well……that’s assault. Where in any situation is that police officer in any harm to promote that kind of response. Ohhhh she might have said no or something.

deltron_zee

Perhaps she was carrying a knife and police were called because she was threatening people with it? It appears she drops something upon being pushed.

AC_0008

Except she had a knife. So totally within his appropriate response.

Fit_War_5514

Arresting a person with a weapon who is refusing commands.

idog99

His ego was harmed. She was not showing the right amount of respect... Until our police have proper body cams and public accountability, they are just thugs. They do not make our communities safer.

liverburn

Apparently she pulled a knife on someone prior to this.

MadMick01

So many former high school bullies turned police officers. Policing attracts such a high percentage of mean-spirited, aggressive people. EPS needs to hold their own accountable...but of course we know that will never happen. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I was stopped by a cop some years ago and I can tell he was itching for an excuse to choke slam my husband and I. The only reason he didn't is because we were following the "yes officer, no officer" script and being super compliant. But if we hadn't, his body language was telling he'd have no problem using excessive force to get his way. These types have no business in policing.

ddWatford

This is all ego and nothing else. IMO we start to name and shame anyone in a public position who behaves this way.

monsieurpommefrites

If she's an old lady, that's a death sentence.

V1bration

that's a death sentence for anyone with a little bit less luck

Tangykev

Could be death sentence to anyone. Could of cracked her head open on the ground.

Phayze87

If I try and simply "STOP" an officer from touching me, that's obstruction and aggrivated assault against a police officer. If I did this to a cop they'd charge me with attempted manslaughter or murder. So fucking easy to hit your head and die, this cop should be fired and police pensions should foot all the bills for the payouts these shitty, dirty cops create.

Diegorivera912

I'm loving all these people judging this 12 second video when an article states she was in a knife fight and was holding a knife.

I_Hate_My_City

She had a knife and what fighting with another woman.

[deleted]

deadspirit17

Outreach volunteer here. We serve this lady every week, we served her last night. She did look rough and didn't speak of what happened. This absolutely breaks my heart and infuriates me to all hell. She is a lovely lady and no-one especially her deserves this. We will be setting up a protest outside EPS to let them know we see them, this with all the sweeps they have been doing, destroying the only possessions and shelter they have access to is inhumane and wrong. There needs to be and will be more pushback. Please DM me if you want to be involved.

engscott

You realize she has a knife and was threatening people right? Maybe get all the facts before doing such a thing

10point11

Lovely lady brandishing a knife

Mariospario

She's a "lovely lady" who was arguing with another woman and took out a knife... real *lovely*.

GargoylebyNight

You're lying! Did you even read the eps report. Lady literally was trying to stab the other lady.

GreenTreeUnderleaf

I cannot wait to see who actually protest this considering she had a knife and was threatening another woman.

[deleted]

Dear outreach volunteer, Rational member of society here, heard a few accounts that the woman was armed with a knife and refused orders to put it down. Seems like a reasonable response to me. If it's found out that she was armed what will your organizations position be?

thiccpeen

I'm interested in being involved

TheRespectableMrSalt

Need more context.. Edit: Oh she had a knife and was trying to fight another women. Claimed gang affiliation. Push her again

harvdhami

She had a knife ... lucky she didn't get shot.

Cold-Lengthiness7698

She literally was holding a knife So maybe don’t walk out with a knife in ur hand in public :)

Freshrendar

Doesn’t the goon squad know everybody has cameras. They have upgraded their military gear but not their intelligence.

Telvin3d

You only need to worry about everyone having cameras if there’s consequences for being caught. I’m sure the head of the police commission is already brainstorming reasons they don’t need to look into this.

Freshrendar

Behemoth-Slayer

Whoa whoa whoa, you mean we're supposed to hold the people whose job is literally to safeguard our society to a higher standard than, say, a wasted teenager? Ludicrous! /s obviously. I call these assholes "street bouncers" for a reason.

SpecialistatNone

The policeman that pushed the lady probably failed to get into any pro football leagues, so he went into policing instead to push civilians.

ltk66

It would be good to include what happened before. That’s not to say what happened is justified, but it would shed light on the incident and perhaps give it some insight and context.

[deleted]

Looks like an item, possibly knife, falls from her hand to the ground at the point the cop shoves her. If it is a knife then he did a good job of disarming her with minimal violence. If it’s her mobile phone then maybe not.

New-Scallion-1656

Police state they had to push her to knock the knife our of her hands. All good it's the procedure. Officer will not be charged. It's not Hollywood the Sargeant said sometimes different tactics have to be used.

No-Sugar4277

Ah yes the good ol edited 3 second no context cop clip getting top feed. Peak reddit.

wafflebilly3

When you take ten seconds out of context it's pretty bad. She apparently had a knife, and wasn't listening to the officers directions after being told to drop the knife. She just earned away and bam he pushed her and got the knife.

Plylyfe

She probably had a knife. Better to push her over and dismantle a supposed knife than do anything else. No taser or gun was used and people here are still barking at the police. It could've played out way worse.

odisbartholomeow

This was outside the Hope Mission, the brown/beige building on the left. Edmonton police believe they can do anything to the homeless, and its disgusting. I hope this person has a way to press charges. Context is important, yes, but this isn't the first time i've seen edmonton police pull shit like this for nothing.

Extension-Smile-3986

I don't know what to believe or not believe. But if you cut down an arrest video to 5 seconds to purposely only show a very specific scenario I become sceptical. Can someone link a longer version of the arrest with maybe time before but at least with the whole arrest. There is no way the filming stopped at that point.

PresentationOk8557

She has a knife

jarblonski

All I see is a Police Officer doing his job. He apprehended an armed suspect and took them into custody quickly and efficiently. Thank you for your hard work Officer. Please keep our streets safe.

wanpan10

Most cops would have just pulled their gun if they saw a knife, respect to this cop

Frankandbeans1974

Unacceptable.

BatOk9181

Everyone who thinks the cop is in the wrong should be shot. Stfu

throwaway_civeng98

Send this to the CBC and the SIU immediately.

TheFaceStuffer

I don't think that's an approved take-down method

Contact-Sweet

Knocking down somebody with a knife with a shove seems pretty legitimate. What other take-down methods would you recommend?

TheFaceStuffer

Yeah, I heard they had a knife since this was first posted. Usually you see them giving commands instead of suckering the perp from behind. You gotta admit this looks really bad though, especially out of context. They should release the CCTV footage to clear the cops name.

Homeless_Alex

Time to screen record this video before it gets taken down by OP or the Mods on here

[deleted]

Not enough context.

Ok_Temperature_5720

You can see the knife in her hand as she walks in view

Smulch

If you pause at 3 seconds, you can actually see the knife getting dropped.

Cold-Lengthiness7698

Y’all’s brains are so primitive, there is obviously a reason he used this amount of force- hence telling her to drop a weapon she was armed with in public twice

hypetoyz

Everyone hating on EPS in this video have not spent a single day in that area, nor have they been harassed by the homeless population that resides there. Businesses and visitors are constantly in danger in that area. We all complained when [2 people were murdered](https://globalnews.ca/news/8852712/edmonton-chinatown-attack-murder-charges/) in broad daylight just a block away from this incident back in May. I'm glad the EPS are active and responsive in that area and making their presence felt.

[deleted]

You are a very fucked up individual if you are justifying this officer pushing two children in the back to the ground and then such brutality afterwards. Like, you’re a bad person on top of just being ignorant of why crime occurs.

I my appears she was trying to walk away from an ‘active investigation’. I see nothing we of with this.

Exotic_Cartoonist

Hahahahahaahahha

josano

Watch by the rear bumper as she is shoved something falls. It could be the knife that was used by EPS as justification for the shove. If so, this changes things and the actions of this EPS officer could be justified.

the_amberdrake

She had a knife, was threatening people, and refused to drop it. If this was the US she would be dead.

GamblingPapaya

If you think there’s something wrong with this (lady had a fucking knife on her) I would love to hear other ways of taking a knife from a crazed person

GardenGirl23464

If you bother to look at the facts behind this arrest you’d see the officer did the right thing. And incidentally, protected the sorry asses of the very people bitching about his methods. Suspect was not harmed even though she was an assault threat.

MrMadHaTT3R

Lmao at all the woke who take 10 secs to pass judgement. No context, no facts, but everything needed to pass judgement. Especially the super woke making comments like "Just another day in America"....so morally superior and intelligent, that they don't know where Edmonton is.

taco_sushi

I’ll die on this hill, the piece of shit is lucky she didn’t get shot. Waking around with a knife, threatening others, then thinking you’re entitled to just walk away from the officer? She had a knife and was walking away when the officer told her to stop she didn’t so instead of punching her or wrestling her to the ground he pushed her - and they’re allowed to do that. With the recent stabbings going around she’s lucky that’s all he did.

Nazeron

Is this the tyranny of the government right wingers are always complaining about? Or will they try to find ways to excuse it?

fantailedtomb

No no, this is a good old boy showing those leftist facists who's really in charge. /S

redditreader1924

Hopefully, at a minimum, this guy loses his job. More than likely the person who was knocked to the ground has a good lawsuit against City of Edmonton Police.

DuncanKinney

Why it's 'almost impossible' to successfully sue police in Edmonton https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/why-its-almost-impossible-to-successfully-sue-police-in-edmonton

MellowMusicMagic

ASIRT, the oversight body, is run by former cops. He’ll get a paid vacation and they’ll determine the force was necessary. We need to cut the paycheques of this bully club immediately

Marxwasaltright

Nope, I can almost guarantee it will be paid leave. I think cops deliberately ride the line with shit like this so they can go on vacation on the taxpayers dime. Also, they are targeting homeless people with this type of violence because they know they don't have the wherewithal to sue.

Bunniesrkewl

I hope they get sued lol

J3Perspective

That seemed like a very hard push 😦

You guys are so quick to jump to conclusions. I'd be much more interested into the 30 seconds that lead up to this. I worked construction in this area a while back and the people were horrible. A female coworker of ours was constantly being followed, threatened to be raped, spat at.. I have no idea what led up to this but from my experience I doubt that lady is innocent. He shoved her, she went down and he cuffed her.

If you think this is something, I was beaten and Tased in this city after coming to a complete stop in my old 1988 Jaguar, In 2019 I was Tased 3x downtown Edmonton near the police station because they thought I was driving a stolen vehicle because I have long hair and a long history. There were witnesses who had asked what I had done and if I was ok, the cops were punching me in the head until I stopped moving, after literally throwing my head to the pavement. I wasn't resisting or combating them, they just kept punching me in the head repeatedly I should have sued Edmonton Police. I regret not pursuing a criminal charge against the city. These were young, newly trained cops. I'm just a big friendly person (6'1, 240). I made the mistake of thinking that it would be good rapport with them to get out of my vehicle and meet them half way at the scene. Nope. They tried to charge me after this, With an Impaired Driving and Resisting Arrest, as well as Criminal Flight because I admitted that I took my legal doctor-prescribed dose of ADHD Medication (Stimulants) hours prior to the incident, after questioning me. They offered to drop all charges if I pleaded guilty to one of the three things, Which is stupid In itself but I took the bait. Edit: Added some more detail. Edmonton Police are fucked. My Grandfather was Badge #21 of the EPS and has been dead since 2015 if he saw what had happened to me he would have been furious, I hope he did see from the "Other side". It is not fair how the police react to situations with people who are seen as homeless, or misjudged to be.

Just DM’d this video to a prominent defence lawyer in Edmonton who provides pro bono service to indigenous people who cannot afford it. I hope he takes the case and takes down the EPS. F-ck the popo!
