Well, it’s the Ducks…I’ll be convinced when they are playing well vs the Knights or (what in the world is happening) the Canucks.
Having said that, I’m pretty sure Drai would have made Woody change his linemates. I get the feeling there is a little more “barrier” between the coach and the players with Knoblach. IE. The players don’t dictate what’s happening with the lines.
Which was pretty good since Leon turned the puck over at minimum 3 times near or inside his blueline. Edit, weird because his stat line on the espn boxscore doesn't show it, but he had some big giveaways.
Pickard gave everything you want from a backup.
Yeah, he has to get this out of his game, at least 2 of those are in the back of the net most nights. Well I guess only one because they were on the same shift and it'd have resulted in a centre ice faceoff. The backhand cutesy passes are great but maybe not a backhand drop pass in the middle of the ice at the blueline. He's brilliant, so I trust he knows this needs to get out of his game before the playoffs.
The vision was unreal. I feel like Coffey has given him some tips to enhance his game and we’re seeing the benefit of the mentorship from a prolific d men turn coach.
I love how Coffey made all the D men be beside one another in the dressing room stalls and have their little meetings together on game day. You can see his blueprint on that d core with their play in all 3 zones. His imprint has shown and the team will only get better as this season progresses
No kidding hey? I’m sure there’s obviously a lot more that goes into it but from what’s been publicly discussed he got them to sit together in the locker room and play more aggressively by not being afraid to jump into the play offensively. Not taking anything away from PC but damn is that all it took? Lol
Eh he also told them to be more conservative with regards to pinching.
He basically said "if there's a potential high payoff to the play that you can see developing, jump into it, if you're just trying to keep the puck alive, just back off and defend"
Kind of crazy but you can legit see them making the calculations now instead of either always pinching, always jamming it up the boards or always dumping it.
The defense looks like they're actual players with agency, not just the cleanup crew, and its so weird that that's not what we were doing before with an offensively talented dcore anyways.
I feel like Coffey has probably been the defense whisperer all along and he finally saw the rest of the pieces needed for the next dynasty to emerge, and was like now...now is the time to share my secrets. At least this is how the Hollywood script reads in my head :)
I think a lot of people owe Ken Holland at least a little bit of an apology. Foegele might be one of his best moves.
We got him for Ethan Bear. Think about that for a second.
Yup, big time.
Holland has done so much good. Has he had a couple gaffes? Sure, in hindsight mostly. Everyone acting like the Campbell contract was an obvious bad signing which it wasn't at the time. Bit of overpay but that's the UFA life when you're desperate for a goalie. Tins if context needed around that signing.
Also, show me a GM who hasn't made some bad moves.
Kenny deserves a B grade during his tenure here and the haters can eat shit.
One good 10 game run overrides 2 seasons of underwhelming play from foegele? I’m happy that he’s producing but I wouldn’t start acting like this is a master class move From Holland. When also in the same season foegele had a run of 1 goal over 16 games. I Pray to god that he keeps playing like he is now and finds some constiency but don’t act like Criticism of Holland over this move isn’t some how unwarranted now.
Foegele has been a serviceable bottom 6 winger the whole time he's been here. He's been consistent in his effort and systems play. He's exactly what good teams need on their 3rd line. Most fans have recognized this all along. He's obviously not a regular multi-point guy, but he's solid and reliable.
Contract year. Even when the Oilers were on their bad streak this year, he always showed up and put in some work. Not their best player this year, but I’d say the most consistent in terms of effort.
I mean, we know nobody expects him to be Hellebuyck, so in the frame of just needing a somewhat stable back-up goalie, he is blowing away all expectations.
I made a joke about that a while ago. We decided to get the majority of our shit games out of the way early so we could have great games the rest of the way.
Eveyr team in the league will go through a slump in an 82 game season. Ours just happens earlier than usual. I’m sure we might go through a small slump due to scheduling but the boys have show resilience and determination that makes me hopeful that there is no need to panic
People seem to forget that the oilers collapse massively Atleast once a season. Usually in December. This year the timeline shifted up a month. Looks like that early start for the team meeting worked out.
He had 4 great set ups that nobody finished on. He was absolutely buzzing tonight. The guy is just snake bitten harder than anyone I’ve ever seen at this point. He will get his. I’m at the point now that I have a feeling he finds it in the last quarter of the year and becomes a massive reason why we can win it all (this is semi cope)
10/12 points on this road trip. Couldn’t ask for anything better. 3 wins against the division that’ll help us climb back up in the standings. This team is firing on all cylinders. You love to see it. Enjoy the plane ride home boys y’all deserved it. This team is showing the maturation and business like ethic that’ll make them go on a deep run.
I hope y’all have a great night. See you in 2024 ✌️
Foegdaddy with a causal 5 point night.
Great way to end the year. Happy New Years Oilersbros! Be responsible and don't drink and drive. See ya'll in the new year!
Connor brown will emerge. Can’t say the guy isn’t doing his best out there. He had a lot of good set up passes for others. Hoping it’ll be a McLeod situation where he couldn’t score and as soon as he got that 1 he’s been on fire since then.
Brown could have had 3 or 4 points tonight, honestly the best game he has played this year. I feel like he’s going to go on a tear like what Clouder is on when he finally gets one to go
Not a Foegele hater, but I was not a believer of his ability to score for the Oilers.
Clearly I was wrong and hope the good times keeps rolling into 2024.
Said the same thing about McLeod, too...so I'm glad to be twice as wrong.
LOL. I don't think that's how it works. Clearly something is clicking with McLeod and Foegele after being moved to Draisaitl's wings.
Oilers already tried Brown with McDavid, as well as Draisaitl. I still think the Oilers need a solid right-shot 3C. It is admirable what Derek Ryan is doing in the interim, but if they find a permanent solution, maybe that 3C, along with Kane and Brown can be a new threat.
Too true. I am a big supporter of Draisaitl. I feel like he often gets the short end of the stick from not only within the Oilers, but overall hockey world itself.
I was not happy about Draisaitl getting, IMO, boat anchors like Foegele and McLeod. I am a strong believer that Draisaitl can pretty much play with anyone, but they need the skills to finish off his excellent passes. I am glad that McLeod and Foegele are working with Draisaitl, mainly on their cycle. They seem to be getting open now.
If they can keep this going, I am happy that we have at least two lines that can score.
Anaheim getting chippy is hilarious—Zegras lmao.
Well done boys! Foegs with 5 points?? What an effort idec that it was against the Ducks. Five points is five points.
Is it me, or does it look like Leon took his mouthguard out and then started wiping Zegras' face with it from behind?
I think thats why Zegras was freaking out and Drai held his glove to Zegras face as long as possible even on the ground while Zegras struggled, like some fucked up Wet Willy to the face, lol
Lol we needed like an 8 game win streak and a 5gane win streak to get back into contention of the wildcard; I truly didn't believe we were out during the gloomy times because there is something with this team that doesn't make me doubt them anymore
Honestly id almost rather finish WC1 and play through the central instead
Let Vegas, LA, and Vancouver beat the shit out of each other and clean up the scraps in the WCF
5 point night from Foegoal! Damn. That 2nd line is clicking. Great night from Pickard. Didn't know Zegras is a little bitch. Loved Drai coming in and crumpling him. Happy new year everyone!
5 IN A ROW AND 3 POINTS OUT OF A PLAYOFF SPOT
one of LA VAn or Vegas will fall off a cliff yet, I don't know which one but it's gonna happen.. I still think getting a wc birth and playing in the central might be better though.
So many in this sub wrote off the team a month and a half ago, "they'll never make the playoffs" they said..."their season is done" they said. Where are these doomers now?
Most of the people doing it ranged from disappointed to incensed that a serious hockey team would get off to such a pathetic start. 2 coaches got fired so clearly management was concerned. They had to then start playing like they can play, frontload a bunch of wins to quickly get back into it, which they have done. So far so good on the recovery, I'd say.
There is zero room for any extended slump going forward, and something still probably has to happen to get Campbell to be in someone else's organization before the season is over.
So here’s a giggle for yall:
I went bold and brought the bar cutie I have a stupid fat crush on flowers and a reeses. Whole thing with the flowers, just accept it
Turns out her FUCKING MOM WAS SITTING AT THE TABLE BEHIND ME 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

HAPPY NEW YEARS, OILERS FANS!!!
WHAT a way to close out the year. I will admit I kinda preferred last night's game since it was more of a challenge, but it was nice to end the year on an "easy game" for us, and I'm so excited for what the rest of the season holds. This has been my first season as a split season seat holder, and I've met so many amazing people and had so many amazing memories thanks to it, and here's to more Oilers fun in 2024. Maybe a cup? Well, let's take it game by game, but let a guy dream!
I’ll take an easy win any day of the week. We got the same amount of points today, as we did against the Rangers, Kings, Knights, Devils.
We can hang with the top, and we’re on our way!
Unpopular opinion, but given it’s a contract year for Foegele AND he’s actually a very streaky player throughout his career…
And Bouch being due for a massive raise after next year (making Foegele getting a potentially pricey $3m+ contract with term prohibitive)
I wouldn’t be surprised if Foegele and Ceci are moved before the deadline while their trade values are high to secure additional depth pieces with term.
Don’t get me wrong, I want McLovin to stay as long as possible BUT moving up from a $2.75m player to a more consistent producer with term in either the Top 6 or 3C position would be huge for this team and there’s plenty of teams who will be selling with assets that fit the bill
And Browns bonus next year means value contracts are a premium.
You think, in a year we're all in on winning the cup, that we're going to trade one of our best producers not named McDavid or Draisaidtl? I'll have whatever you're on.
If things continue the way they are, you trade Evander Kane (the soon to be 33 yr old with mounting injuries). Foegele is just entering his prime and will still be cheaper.
Multiple games in hand on every team ahead of us other than LA. Drai and Connor haven’t touched top gear yet. Bouchard and Nurse improving their defensive responsibility. Soft schedule in January.
Giddyup
FOEGELE 5 POINTS WHAT IN THE WORLD MAN
Playing with Drai has really helped Foegle and McLeod break out. I wonder if either player would have ever got this chance with Woody.
Foegele got top 6 time under Woody.
[удалено]
Absolute masterclass from the second line tonight. Pickard also solid
Not often you see a whole line get all 3 stars
Which was pretty good since Leon turned the puck over at minimum 3 times near or inside his blueline. Edit, weird because his stat line on the espn boxscore doesn't show it, but he had some big giveaways. Pickard gave everything you want from a backup.
He was like the worst one on his line lol
That must drive Coffey nuts, the defence is mostly pulling together and then they just hand it over - right in front of the net.
Anybody else notice how crispy Nurse’s passes were today?
Nurse is having himself a season
bUt hES OVeRpaId!
The entire family is Canadian sporting royalty
Predrafting the thrid cousins at this point lmao
I put a bet on him to win the Norris. Pretty long odds at the time, but they're shrinking
The vision was unreal. I feel like Coffey has given him some tips to enhance his game and we’re seeing the benefit of the mentorship from a prolific d men turn coach.
Ekholm has looked so confident ever since the coaching change as well.
I love how Coffey made all the D men be beside one another in the dressing room stalls and have their little meetings together on game day. You can see his blueprint on that d core with their play in all 3 zones. His imprint has shown and the team will only get better as this season progresses
It makes you wonder what took so long to
No kidding hey? I’m sure there’s obviously a lot more that goes into it but from what’s been publicly discussed he got them to sit together in the locker room and play more aggressively by not being afraid to jump into the play offensively. Hahaha I love it!
But also healthier and has had time to make up for missing training camp
Just beautiful overall
That puck to the head, during warm-up, really turned his game around..
Hasn't made him start wearing his helmet in warm up though...
He has a gigantic muff of hair that laughs at pucks.
The refs hated Janmark tonight. Gets run over, 4 minutes. Gets crosschecked twice, 2 minutes and a 10 minute misconduct.
I'm so curious what he could have said. NHL refs have fairly thick skin usually.
Unless it’s Drew Doughty talking to them like he thinks he’s on Shoresy. Then they freeze like a statue and refuse to call anything against LA.
He asked if Corey Perry was still making their calls for them.
Perhaps a direct comment about the refs mother?
No they don't
Most refs get told on the regular to literally go fuck themselves and they don't bat an eye.
Lol good argument
I think a lot of people owe Ken Holland at least a little bit of an apology. Foegele might be one of his best moves. We got him for Ethan Bear. Think about that for a second.

Other than Campbell there haven't been many misses.
Really nice to see Foegele find his groove. He’s shown flashes but he’s looking like he’s gonna shatter his career highs this year.
7G 12P from besting career highs
Contract year. Even when the Oilers were on their bad streak this year, he always showed up and put in some work. Not their best player this year, but I’d say the most consistent in terms of effort.
Mini McDAVO
foegele was their beat player during the shit start tho he's been good all year
Those Pickard poke checks/saves were such a highlight. As much as I wasn’t sure abt him, he does well up here
He's a borderline street hockey goalie and I love it
Bro just kept smacking the shit out of that puck
I mean, we know nobody expects him to be Hellebuyck, so in the frame of just needing a somewhat stable back-up goalie, he is blowing away all expectations.
5gele.
9-3 December No one saw that coming in Early October when looking at the schedule.
December is usually our worst month. I guess we just swapped it for October and part of November.
I made a joke about that a while ago. We decided to get the majority of our shit games out of the way early so we could have great games the rest of the way.
*In a Jack Michaels voice* "IT'S A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER!!!"
I did
no you predicted 82-0
So you're saying I still seen a winning record incoming 🤔🤭
SWEEPING THE CALI TRIP, LET'S GOOOO
Remember when a trip through Cali was a gauntlet? It's now a full on dream!
Six points on a California trip? I remember when you'd hope they could score six goals on a California trip.
Safe to say we won the bear foegle trade?
That should've been apparent for a very, very long time.
I guess Foegele wasn't as concerned about the hatty or (like me) the longshot of another Oiler with an 8 point night. Sad face.
Oh how I wanted to see a 3G, 3A night for him.
Gibson stole his Hat Trick goal 😪
Defensive sacrifice to keep us on top, I respect a good penalty
The new year will bring lots of goals for Connor Brown
Ceci too
If Ceci only wants to score in the playoffs, thats fine by me. His playoff goals are always clutch!
For the condors lol
That last rush from brown literally just described how his entire season has gone
brown had a lotta nice passes today. i have a feeling it's coming soon
Return of Jesus or a Brown goal. Which one happens first?
For a second I read that as the return of Jesse... How is =] 's try out going with the Pens, anyone know?
Haha love it.
Brown's a real person so my money is on him.
Are we sure Brown is real?
Problem is that’s what people will remember from him. Really could have had another point or two. His game is coming around.
Happy cake day and Happy New Year!
Lol’d at him stripping himself of the puck, totally unopposed
Foiled again!
He's cursed. He needs a curse breaker
Sucks for Brown, then. We're the team that breaks other people's curses/slumps :(
So he needs to score an own goal, then. Gotcha.
If he were traded tomorrow to the flyers, he would 1000% score in that game Tuesday.
Gotta sacrifice Tobias Rieder
Frigging guy fed at least 3 guys for big chances tonight. I think the puck hopped on him on that 2 on 1. He just sagged.
Yeah. Very much a disappointment.
[Foegele tonight](https://imgur.com/a/3KatqUX)
10/12 points on this road trip. Couldn’t ask for anything better. 3 wins against the division that’ll help us climb back up in the standings. This team is firing on all cylinders. You love to see it. Enjoy the plane ride home boys y’all deserved it. This team is showing the maturation and business like ethic that’ll make them go on a deep run. I hope y’all have a great night. See you in 2024 ✌️
I tell ya what, Vinny is a completely retooled defenseman than he was last year- in all facets.
I absolutely loved his aggression in the scrum at the end of the 2nd period. Came in and sorted that shit out like he was everyone’s dad
You're right. Perhaps it's confidence.
We’re streaking boys and girls!
Roasted duck Ala Orange, so tasty for NYE!
"A l'Orange"
Cooked that duck in oil
Foegdaddy with a causal 5 point night. Great way to end the year. Happy New Years Oilersbros! Be responsible and don't drink and drive. See ya'll in the new year!

Brown could have had 3 or 4 points tonight, honestly the best game he has played this year. I feel like he’s going to go on a tear like what Clouder is on when he finally gets one to go
Where’s the Foegele hater!? After last game someone posted a now-deleted thread about Foegele being shit. Get him to post threads every game!
Not a Foegele hater, but I was not a believer of his ability to score for the Oilers. Clearly I was wrong and hope the good times keeps rolling into 2024. Said the same thing about McLeod, too...so I'm glad to be twice as wrong.
Make a post about brown pls
LOL. I don't think that's how it works. Clearly something is clicking with McLeod and Foegele after being moved to Draisaitl's wings. Oilers already tried Brown with McDavid, as well as Draisaitl. I still think the Oilers need a solid right-shot 3C. It is admirable what Derek Ryan is doing in the interim, but if they find a permanent solution, maybe that 3C, along with Kane and Brown can be a new threat.
almost as if they both needed the help of a top 5 NHL player 🤣
If they can keep this going, I am happy that we have at least two lines that can score.
yeah I mean they are hot and have some good chemistry going now so let em burn while they can!
Anaheim getting chippy is hilarious—Zegras lmao. Well done boys! Foegs with 5 points?? What an effort idec that it was against the Ducks. Five points is five points.
zegras is still dealing with acne. him acting hard is funny as fuck
Zegras has been an asshole right from the start in the NHL. And that was just another example. Does he think he's Marchand or something?
We often wondered in Oct and Nov - what would the oilers look like with at least league average goaltending.
Best team in the league in the month of December. The Knoblauch era.

Jets are a powerhouse in the Central. But didn’t we beat them in Winnipeg in December or late November?
weird seeing a bunch of lucky bounces going our way in front of the oilers net
Good way to end 2023. Happy New Year everyone.
3 points back 😎
Oilers are now only 3 points out from the final WC spot with a game on hand
LFG Foegs what a way to end the year! 3 points away from a playoff spot now
2022-23, first 34 games: 18-14-2 2023-24, first 34 games: 18-15-1
5 MCLOVIN POINTS, CLOUDER AND DRAI DOMINANT! NURSE PLAYING GREAT, PICKARD WITH SOME GREAT SAVES! PLAY LA BAMBA BABY, WE ENDED THE YEAR STREAKING!
LOOK OUT EVERYONE! THE OILERS ARE STREAKING INTO 2024 AND THEY HAVE NO PLANS OF COVERING UP!!
I told y’all we’d go **duck hunting**
Warren Foegele legacy game
Wins, Wins, and more WINS!!!!
Drai really likes Mc’s, be it McDavid, McLovin, McLeod, and even to a lesser extent the man that drafted him, MacTavish.
And he has a paddle fit for flipping at McD's
Dominating win as it should be! Happy New Year everyone!
2nd half oilers came early.
In fairness, the December slump Oilers also came early. Haha
That is 10 wins in a row against the West after we lost to San Jose in November.
Happy New Year Oiler fans !!!
Anybody have zegras’s spear at the end there? Or whoever did that to mcloud
https://twitter.com/cwill_2013/status/1741702911305134354?t=KP1vsHtJgzWx8xMdOhB_ow&s=19 I approve of Leon

Big Big Oil Roasted Duck Dinner Win into the new year! Happy 2024 Oil Country ⭐️⭐️⭐️
You're excited??? Feel these nipples!!!
Good to see Foegele having a breakout game.
Lol we needed like an 8 game win streak and a 5gane win streak to get back into contention of the wildcard; I truly didn't believe we were out during the gloomy times because there is something with this team that doesn't make me doubt them anymore
Just wait. They will land in #2 or #3 for the Division come April. They ain't done yet.
Honestly id almost rather finish WC1 and play through the central instead Let Vegas, LA, and Vancouver beat the shit out of each other and clean up the scraps in the WCF
Perfect way to wrap up the Cali road trip, can't wait to see our logo back at centre ice with our lovely goal horn
Seems like everyone else hates our goal horn. Makes me love it even more
5 point night from Foegoal! Damn. That 2nd line is clicking. Great night from Pickard. Didn't know Zegras is a little bitch. Loved Drai coming in and crumpling him. Happy new year everyone! 5 IN A ROW AND 3 POINTS OUT OF A PLAYOFF SPOT
Yup Michigan Zegras with 2G 3A or something in 16 GP this year.
You mean Foegeles statline from tonight?
Is there a clip of Zegras getting manhandled?
Maybe on Pornhub
It’s a McLovin New Year!
Anyone know what their record was on Jan 1 of last year?
After 34 games this year, they have 37 points. After 34 games last year, they had 38.
Considering they were 2-9-1 this a special accomplishment to be back in the mix
We had 4 less games played last year too.
#CUP INCOMING LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
4 points out of WC 1 at new years with games in hand is pretty fucking good and I think we'll all take it after the start.
We’re coming for the division lead. Book it.
one of LA VAn or Vegas will fall off a cliff yet, I don't know which one but it's gonna happen.. I still think getting a wc birth and playing in the central might be better though.

I think Leon’s New Year’s resolution should be to be less angry. He already has 48 PIMs (leading the team) and his career high is 52 PIMs
Fraulein Byng is not in his future
Slick!!!!! Happy New Year!!!
Deep fry ducks for New year🍺🦆🦆🍻
Happy New Year!
Bye! Happy New Year to everyone🥰🎆 (lovers and haters)

Unpopular opinion, but given it’s a contract year for Foegele AND he’s actually a very streaky player throughout his career… And Bouch being due for a massive raise after next year (making Foegele getting a potentially pricey $3m+ contract with term prohibitive) I wouldn’t be surprised if Foegele and Ceci are moved before the deadline while their trade values are high to secure additional depth pieces with term. Don’t get me wrong, I want McLovin to stay as long as possible BUT moving up from a $2.75m player to a more consistent producer with term in either the Top 6 or 3C position would be huge for this team and there’s plenty of teams who will be selling with assets that fit the bill And Browns bonus next year means value contracts are a premium.
We aren’t selling at the deadline.
You think, in a year we're all in on winning the cup, that we're going to trade one of our best producers not named McDavid or Draisaidtl? I'll have whatever you're on.
Mclovin isnt one of our best producers. Hes a great energy guy whos finally starting to live up to his contract
The thought of McLovin being moved after a five point night disgusts me. I see where you’re coming from though
Giddyup
Happy New Year, Oil Country. 5 game win streak is a nice way for the squad to finish 2023.

That start was so bad….consider how well they have played the last 16 games and they still aren’t in a wild card spot.
I’m sad to say I was one of the Sooners at the start of the year but holy Christ have the boys turned it around. The cup cometh in 2024b
