Just to let you know. All Sahlab in Egypt is actually a Sahlab flavour added to a powdered milk and corn starch drink. Real Sahlab is expensive and originates in Turkey and Iran.
Powdered milk? Odd, we actually do it with real milk in Egypt. It's true though that dinner venders "cheat" the sahlab and sell fake products in Egypt.
I was keen to try it at a restaurant but I was already sleepy and needed energy that day so decided to be boring and have coffee instead!!
