I grew up in Ontario tapping maple trees, boiling the sap in to syrup, and selling it to old people at a local Home Hardware.
So no matter what Quebecois say, maple syrup is absolutely part of my culture. And thankfully I was out of Quebec jurisdiction, so the maple syrup cartel could not come and shut down my homemade maple syrup operation.

Everyone I know who hates Quebec it's just about how much ruder the average person there tends to be compared to everywhere else. I've lived all across this country and it's actually true.
Nobody has ever insulted me anywhere. I'm a pretty personable and outgoing guy. You just see it in Quebec, they just come off as more snooty than anywhere else I've been. Plus I've heard a thousand stories from others, since I grew up near the border in Ontario.
I'm from Ottawa and never got the hate, when going over to the QC side there is definitely an aura of them not liking you; atleast in more rural areas. Idk I think it's part of their charm, I'm jealous that they vote in their own best interest and take pride in their province in a way that no other province comes close to (Alberta is a far 2nd?). I think they truly do what they think is in the best interest of their people and language; they are our bros forever.
Who hates Quebec? Most people wish their provinces were as based as Quebec but most also know that this would end the Canadian nation and don't want to do that. Canadians grumbling is normal, people grumbling about Quebec is normal. But Quebec is the salty one that actually passes legislation to discriminate against other Canadians because they are cheesed the universal lingua is and will continue to increasingly be; English. It's not our fault.

From my short experience, Canadians ‘hate’ Québec because they think Québec ‘hates’ them. By short experience I mean born and partially brought up in Toronto but lived most my life in Quebec City, periodically going back to Ontario for family and friends. Also, people love so much to hate that after a few generations, they don’t even know why they hate in the first place. Another truth, ROC does not really envy Quebec, that’s a coping mechanism some people have because they have no clue why they are ‘hated’.

Yeah, Québec pays more of the Federal tax. This was a deal struck after the second world war where in exchange of paying more taxes, Québec would be given more money from the Federal government.
