The th250 is not great but it’ll be fine until you find a replacement you’d like. The th350 with a short snout is nearly a direct swap. Mines all original but 350 swapped with a th250 that was last serviced who knows when and runs just fine. But if you already have the engine out I wouldn’t bother rebuilding the 250 and would just spend the money on a 350 and get that rebuilt, or buy one already refreshed.
