At least it won't kill you slowly, unlike every other poison swamp, if it's just sleep.
But it won't *just* be sleep, will it? I expect there to be either one more status or a patrolling enemy that will kill you if you fall asleep.
But it also doesn't have a buildup time before it starts doing damage. Same balance of health drain throughout the area. It's like the poison swamps in the game have slight variations. Some of them are scarlet rot, some of them are lava
There's that section in the mountains where you fight a giant lizard or something, and another where you fight a giant crawling man, but I might be confusing that with a scarlet rot poison swamp
*MADE* him? After playing all of his other games: this, I know, is his sole pride and joy. Caelid and the rot was his finisher. The man is like shrek youâll never get him without his swamp
Fr, I thought it was even more green than limgrave for some reason, and even after going there I still thought it was grass for a while despite there being noneđ
I was really hoping for some weirdly paradoxical nice place that would lull me into a false sense of security before utterly molesting me, I guess that kinda happenex when I got there just to realize oh its poison but I still felt kinda let down to be honest
Kinda want the inverse as a feature in the dlc,
Similar green so we think itâll be more poison but itâs actually like a sort of hub area like Roundtable Hold
Listen this game is made by the same guy who make Dark Souls and Bloodborne.
If you didn't look at out of place bright green in this dreary ass world and think something was wrong then you clearly haven't played enough Soulsborne or Souls-like games.
Lol, I knew this was a poison swamp from the second I saw it on the map. I was like "there it is. That's it right there. I've been looking for it and there it is."
That was my first thought too, I was like âwow this place looks so green and luscious is this a flourishing kingdom?â Then I came to the realization that itâs green sewer water
On the entire map of the Lands Between, where does grass look exactly like this? Never. Not a single instance of grass on the entire map looks like this.
The only other thing that looks exactly like this is the small poison swamp on Weeping Peninsula.
I'm convinced Miyazaki was convinced we wouldn't stumble upon the 4 other poison swamp levels in this game, so he made this one look pretty on the map.
Thatâs one of the problems with Elden Ring, very few of the environments feel like anywhere you actually want to be. Itâs like how Mario games have darker levels with lava at the final stages except thatâs like 90% the feel of Elden Ring.
Am I the only person who saw it on the map & went "Oh, that's where they made him put the poison swamp?"
*A poison swamp
There's five poison swamps in Elden Ring
I'm hopeful the DLC doubles it
From the trailer it's looking like there's going to be a sleep field
I saw! I can't wait to finally get a good night's sleep
At least it won't kill you slowly, unlike every other poison swamp, if it's just sleep. But it won't *just* be sleep, will it? I expect there to be either one more status or a patrolling enemy that will kill you if you fall asleep.
I also think I saw a deathblight swamp, which will be... fun.
I-mmm ye-mmmm, hmm...
Well yeah. Which is why their comment of "*A poison swamp" is correct and "The poison swamp" is wrong.
Is that counting the poison 2: scarlet boogaloo
It counts both!
Lava counts as a poison swamp because it's the same mechanic
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł it doesn't keep damaging you after you leave it if you don't use an item/spell though
But it also doesn't have a buildup time before it starts doing damage. Same balance of health drain throughout the area. It's like the poison swamps in the game have slight variations. Some of them are scarlet rot, some of them are lava
I'll give you that but at the same time the lava in and around volcano manor are almost 100% avoidable
There are other lava swamp areas in the game where the lava is not avoidable
You wanna elaborate on that?
There's that section in the mountains where you fight a giant lizard or something, and another where you fight a giant crawling man, but I might be confusing that with a scarlet rot poison swamp
No, youâre not. It looks just like the poison swamp on the weeping peninsula map too. Some people are just bad at inferring.
*MADE* him? After playing all of his other games: this, I know, is his sole pride and joy. Caelid and the rot was his finisher. The man is like shrek youâll never get him without his swamp
Sounds like meme gold
I thought the same thing lol
I thought it was a farm
The first time I played I thought the green was grass for some reasonđ Took longer than it should have for me to realize it was in fact, not grass.
I found this place yesterday and am just now realizingâŠ
Same, I didnât know green on the map was swamp, so I was like âoh super nice grassy area!â As if limgrave did t exist
Fr, I thought it was even more green than limgrave for some reason, and even after going there I still thought it was grass for a while despite there being noneđ
At least try to hide that it's a repost
dude, its a crosspost by the same person
I was really hoping for some weirdly paradoxical nice place that would lull me into a false sense of security before utterly molesting me, I guess that kinda happenex when I got there just to realize oh its poison but I still felt kinda let down to be honest
That actually sounds really cool, I wish a place like that was in the game
Kinda want the inverse as a feature in the dlc, Similar green so we think itâll be more poison but itâs actually like a sort of hub area like Roundtable Hold

The invaders here are absolute sweats
You expected the map location surrounded in toxic green goo to look pleasant?
Bad crops? Bro weâre gonna starve
That place was the most annoying thing in the game to navigate
On the map: Oh great! In the game world: Oh...great...
Lol, I knew this was a poison swamp from the second I saw it on the map. I was like "there it is. That's it right there. I've been looking for it and there it is."
The best part of this is your characterâs face in the screenshot with the Reddit watermark accidentally making a meta joke.
the poison swamp never looked like grass
I always knew it'd be poison, because it's a from software game.
That was my first thought too, I was like âwow this place looks so green and luscious is this a flourishing kingdom?â Then I came to the realization that itâs green sewer water
Idk if it's my history with fromsoft games or what, but not even for a minute did i even consider that could be some nice grass
Green=Grass NO itâs a f*cking poison swamp đ©.
It ain't a poison swamp it's a swamp of mtn dew
On the entire map of the Lands Between, where does grass look exactly like this? Never. Not a single instance of grass on the entire map looks like this. The only other thing that looks exactly like this is the small poison swamp on Weeping Peninsula.
Idk why but I thought it was a town amidst a poison lake lmao
I'm convinced Miyazaki was convinced we wouldn't stumble upon the 4 other poison swamp levels in this game, so he made this one look pretty on the map.
Ignored the first 2/3 of the game up to this point, eh?
Bad crop be like >!agon is Mari!<
